V. OVERVIEW

   drowning lessons - when victarion was born, he was given to the drowned god in the tradition of his forefathers. not the simple dip in the water that was reserved for babes but the full immersion. he came out of it his father’s first son and heir to old wyk, a position that he has taken to with the utmost seriousness. he learned from a young age how to drown, whether it was himself or someone else.

   ironborn - he was raised beside his harlaw kin, practicing skirmishes and raids with the rest of them as soon as he could hold a blade or an oar. he is very fond of his extended family, though his father was mindful to tell him that the tide of family could quickly turn and to hold true to old wyk. to himself. to the drowned god. whether this is from suspicion or past embarrassment of his father, something unsaid, victarion cannot be sure.

   red rain - on his twentieth name day, he became the bearer of an oath and a blade. drumms past had attempted and failed to reach heights greater than their station. old wyk was theirs but what else could be. it was beneath the bones of the nagga, bloodied but not broken with his lungs choked with water once again, that he swore an oath to his father. something that the old man himself could not accomplish. an oath that should they have anything, one day it would be the iron fleet and that when men looked upon a skeletal hand, they would pray under a deluge of red.

   the devil and the dark water - hailing from the holiest of all the iron islands, victarion is no exception to the rule. he is a steadfast believer in the drowned god and is known to be quick to make offerings of the ironborn’s enemies. it is a constant thought on his mind, born from an iron and copper prayer, that the seas should claim the seven kingdoms.

   salt queen - from a young age, victarion and aurore played at the idea of being one another’s first mate and captain. when the day came that she called him to become her first mate, he took it without hesitation and with immense pride. they had sailed together for many years, from the moment they could board a ship at seven. and when the time came for the iron fleet to herald a new captain, should it fall to him, he would have learned from the lady captain herself and see the world as it is. what it could be.

VI. 𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦

   thicker than water - family connections! he spent a lot of his youth with his harlaw family so very excited to explore that.

  old time religion - given that he’s from the holiest of the iron islands, he is well-versed in the drowned god and actually enjoys talking about the religions of westeros, whether in debate or otherwise.

  a question of faith - there could also be someone that makes him question the drowned god or perhaps even his father’s intentions. his father is not necessarily a bad man or father, just a bit misguided in his intentions. just someone that shakes his resolve a little bit.

  port in a storm - someone that brings victarion some kind of comfort and he’s less up his own ass or the drowned gods when around them. they could have met during the salt queen’s journey and they are someone that he comes back to. could be romantic, platonic, etc.

  by all the salt in me - he is a prickly man to northerners, westerners, and southerners alike. anyone outside the iron islands. this could be playful torment between characters or something a lot more malicious.

 kindness unforgotten - i had an idea that he was very wounded during a voyage and that someone took him in and took care of him for a bit before he went back to the sea. it’s something he was bewildered about then and still thinks of to this day.

we’re in rival gangs and i started dating you to get information for mine and i got caught but i only realized i was in love with you when you were jamming your knife into my stomach

“i’m your father’s mistress & and was nearly caught sneaking out early one morning but you saved the day by introducing me as your girlfriend && now your mother invited me to spend the summer at your vacation home so we have to spend the entire summer pretending to be in love.”

plot where our muses were high school sweethearts and tried long distance for a while, swore they’d be together forever, gave each other promise rings, the whole ordeal. but they grew apart and broke up. years later, one is moving back home and they’re suddenly running in the same circles again and it’s bringing up a lot of … feelings. bonus if one of them is engaged to someone else

i really need a “you used to be my babysitter and although you were the worst babysitter alive (letting me stay up late, eating cake for dinner, watching rated r movies with me and helping me hide the ceramics we broke) i was practically in love w/ you and told you that i was gonna be your bf/gf someday. you would always just laugh and say that i was too young. WELL i’m older now and we just got matched on tinder/my parents just invited you to my birthday party/etc

a plot where one is a criminal that’s on the run from the police, and they stumble across this practically empty motel that’s in the middle of nowhere, and they think, hey, perfect place to hide out for a few weeks until the manhunt dies down. the motel is run by a married couple, and their sheltered, somewhat naive child – well, actually they’re an adult by now, but they’ve never left their small town, had a job outside the motel, or been anywhere, and their parents still treat them like a kid. the criminal checks in, of course not mentioning why they’re here, and the owners’ kid is fascinated by their guest – they hardly ever get guests for more than a night at a time, let alone guests who seem to have so many interesting stories and secrets…

muse a is a criminal that owns a technically-legal-but-shady business (casino, strip club, nightclub, etc.) that doubles as a front for their definitely-not-legal business. muse b is a brand-new employee. despite them not being in the shady business and rather low on the ranks (and thus, usually not even a blip on muse a’s radar), muse b catches muse a’s eye one night, and the two begin to talk and hang out at work – and that quickly turns into a relationship. the two genuinely fall for each other, and muse a slowly brings muse b further into their world, once they’re sure their criminal activities won’t scare muse b off.except there’s something muse a doesn’t know. muse b was hired by a rival criminal (or possibly the feds) to act as a spy, collecting info on muse a’s shady dealings in exchange for a huge chunk of change.

there’s a hard ass cop, and he always sticks by the rules and works hard and his work is his life but then one day he makes a huge bust in an underground sex ring and carries a girl out, and the media dub him as a superhero, and he feels strangely protective over this girl. So he goes and visits her at the hospital, and she lights up as soon as she sees him and just thanks him continuously, and he starts smiling a bit more, and she doesn’t really talk to anybody except for him because she doesn’t trust anybody except him. Cue her having trouble sleeping at night because of bad dreams and memories, so she calls him to help, and he does, he always does of course. And she calls him when her car breaks down in the middle of the night and she’s terrified, and he literally drops everything for her, and its so obvious they like each other, but he doesn’t know how to do relationships and she’s just a mess from everything thats happened to her, and so much angsty fluffy goodness of them two being awkward and shy dorks at times but also staying up and telling their entire life stories to each other

ok but a verse where muse a and muse b are exes and they go on a skiing trip with their mutual friends every year and it’s the first year they’ve been broken up but the friends really want them to get back together so they tell both of them that the other isn’t going and then when they show up it’s like !!! and it can be cliche like maybe muse a is dating someone new that muse b didn’t know about it but muse b finds out when one of the friends accidentally mentions that they all hate muse a’s significant other and they’re arguing constantly and can’t stand to be in the same room and a blizzard comes so they lose power and it’s freezing and everyone else paired up to cuddle for warmth so the muses are forced into it and it’s all ‘get your feet away from me they’re cold as fuck’ and ‘do you really have to breathe so loud right in my ear’ and ‘you used to like when i held you like this’ and that makes them smile a little and suddenly it gets all fond but muse a is still dating someone

“you’re my dad’s best friend and one night i come to your house because i got locked out of my apartment and you’re only two blocks away. i’m a little tipsy when i come over, and you have the smell of whiskey on your breath. you let me stay the night and it’s late and we’re still talking and we’re definitely not sober and somehow instead of hugging before i go to bed it’s a kiss. things snowball from there; when we wake up in the morning you panic because you just slept with your best friend’s daughter, and i panic because… well, for similar reasons. we promise never to talk about it and a few months go by? until you get a call from my dad ranting and raving about how some idiot got his baby girl pregnant because she’s already three months along and your hEART DROPS” (w/ or w/o the pregnancy)

muse a was born into the life of harleys, guns and rock and roll. her father was the president of a motorcycle gang, while her mother was a sweet woman who welcomed his lifestyle with open arms. it was an unspoken rule that no one in the club, especially full patched members, was allowed to touch muse a, but she couldn’t stop the feelings that had grown for her father’s co president aka muse b. he was older and rough around the edges and she knew he wouldn’t dare even looking at her twice due to the respect he had for her father. although, when she turned eighteen, muse a mustered up the courage to confess her feelings for him during a party at the club house. muse b was shocked to hear she had feelings for him, and told her that he wasn’t interested ( perhaps a small piece of him was? )  and muse a left the party heartbroken. unknown to anyone else, the reason she had decided on confessing her feelings was because she was skipping town the next morning, and didn’t want to have any regrets. she left her parents a short letter telling them that she needed to find her purpose in life and would come back home in the near future. over ten years passed and muse a finally did so, only because she got word her father had died at the arms of a rival gang. muse b had been ranked up as president and is dealing with new responsibilities, and he’s shocked when the scrawny, awkward kid he last saw ten years ago is now a beautiful woman. angst & drama ensues.

Clint is the youngest son born to Harold and Edith Barton. They have one other son named Barney who is fifteen years older, which put a significant age gap between them. Their father was an angry man who never really wanted children. He preferred drinking to doing any parenting. He didn’t raise a hand to either of the boys but verbal abuse took place and the Barton household never felt like a home. Their mother tried her hardest to make it work.

Some events appear to be constant — the alcoholism leading to the death of Clint’s parents. Only the events that spiraled after that are different in this new life. He was only five years old, holding onto Barney’s hand at the funeral not understanding what was going on. “Where’s mama? Papa?” He would ask but not even the older Barton had the right answer. “It’s only going to be us from now on, kiddo.” He answered after kneeling down to be Clint’s level.

His brother was twenty, having held onto the same job for several years now and it paid well. He took on the responsibility of raising his little brother the best to his ability. They moved into a smaller apartment in Alucard and for a while they were happy. This was so the two of them wouldn’t be separated.

Few years later on his way home from school some older kids jumped him. Without getting into graphic details — the injuries from the beating was so extensive that it left him with head trauma. Barney was worried about his brother and how they were going to pay for his medical expenses. The doctor informs the oldest Barton that Clint lost 80% of his hearing which only made him worry that much more.

They don’t always see eye-to-eye but they’re the only family they both have left. Maybe that’s why the blonde puts up with the anger Barney feels toward him sometimes. You can usually find them signing angrily in the kitchen or living room. They do have their moments where it’s possible to get along but it usually doesn’t last.

Clint made a life for himself. He studied at a culinary institute to become a pastry chef. He knows that it wasn’t a requirement but wanted to take the extra step. It got him away from his brother since it was apparent they couldn’t live together anymore.

Three years ago, Clint got invited to attend an engagement party. One of his friends was getting married and seemed to invite everyone she has ever spoken to — renting out one of the bars in town. He didn’t know a lot of people there but wouldn’t miss out on such a joyous occasion. A few drinks into the night Clint saw the most handsome man he has ever laid eyes on standing across the room. He tried asking the person next to him if they knew the guy. “I’ve never met him but his name is Bucky, I think?” The blond repeated the name over and over in his head while handing the beer to his friend and pushing his way through the crowd. He went over there and introduced himself. He didn’t normally do this but something was telling him to try putting himself out there.

They dated for two years, moving in together in that timeframe. Clint even got a dog named Lucky from the local shelter. He’s missing his left eye and has been there for quite some time the volunteer told him. He didn’t need to know anything else and brought him home. Lucky is a smart dog and got along well with Bucky’s cat to the point they’re inseparable at times.

A little over a year ago, Clint and Bucky got married — the blond added on his husband’s last name to the end of his own. Barton-Barnes. They don’t show a lot of public displays of affection in public but you might see them holding hands. Anything more is usually kept for closed doors. They’re happy although Bucky hates Barney so when his brother stops into town that tends to create some tension if he wants to stay at their place. Bucky will even make Clint lunch to take into work! Which is always better than eating take out again.

Clint is working at The Cat’s Meow as a barista and pastry chef. He’ll work with Marinette on creating new recipe ideas for the menu sometimes. They have a little bit of a sibling dynamic going on, looking after her and always being there when she needs a shoulder to lean on. He couldn’t have picked a better place to work and will always appreciate Adrien for taking a chance on him.

Clint is deaf. If he doesn’t have his BTE hearing aids on he will need to rely on reading your lips or sign if your character happens to know ASL. It makes him really happy when people know sign language!

Not all of Spoken English can be lip-read, some words are incomprehensible. He can figure out what you’re saying by filling in the blanks with the words that were missed while lip-reading. He’ll use outside cues to figure out the context of which word is being used. Since a lot of sounds visually look similar such as. ‘th’ and ‘f’ sounds.

He doesn’t wear his hearing aids at night. You need to let them air out and keeping them in while you sleep could damage them if they fall out into your sheets or end up on the floor where you’ll step on them. They’re expensive and can cost up to six thousand dollars just for one. Clint has two so he wants to take care of them. They’re put on a charging station at night so the batteries can charge.

His hearing will NOT be perfect just because he’s wearing hearing aids. They’re AIDS not FIXES. He will miss parts of the conversation still and ask you to repeat yourself occasionally.

CANON LIFE —

Clinton Barton was the youngest son of Harold and Edith Barton. He grew up helping out around his fathers butcher shop with his older brother, Barney. Their mother was a sweet woman but she couldn’t protect them from what would happen when the whiskey was brought out. Harold was abusive and continually beat both of his boys. It got so bad that the injuries Clint suffered from damaged his hearing. He remembers sitting at the doctors office not being able to understand a word the doctor was saying or his parents.

Eventually his father’s alcoholism caused him to get into a car accident while Edith was in the car, costing both of them their lives. Clint and Barney were sent to numerous foster homes until running away from one of them to join a traveling circus instead. He would adapt his archery skills to become a star carnival attraction, a master archer called Hawkeye.  He spent some time as a member of Tiboldt’s Circus until leaving to try using his skillset for fighting crime.

Nick Fury would end up hand-picking Barton to join S.H.I.E.L.D. and he quickly became one of their very best agents. In addition to this Clint would also end up joining the Avengers and West Coast Avengers. He’s one of the best archers in the world and should not be underestimated for being Human.
