overthinking about faceless ayato:

the fact that ayato is considered as "two faced" because of many identities he had for the sake of his clan and his loved ones and faceless ayato what is in his name 💀💀

idk there's some sort of unintentional symbolism there of what if ayato completely loses himself that he loses his "true face"

and the fact that he literally admits in the story quest that he doesn't care what becomes of him as long that no one would trample his family 😭😭

i think the entire faceless thing being also symbolic is such an underutilised concept tbh. in my personal interpretation he was assassinated and just came back wrong as something inbetween a ghost and someone still living (there are a lot of ways to explain how that could've happened i just prefer to think that his self-set duty of keeping an eye on his clan won't let him rest and something went wrong in the process), and being fucked up like that, if visible to an average person at all, is directly barring him from his duties creating this. horrid torment nexus of a cycle that also won't let him go down in peace.

there are also the ideas of how the trauma from the event and his loss of self due to neither being the same man or being able to do what he used to be able to do has metaphorically made him faceless, without identity

i also like my friend's idea that he could be this shapeshifter esque entity that warps according to the viewer's interpretation of who ayato was, so he appears as he is commonly depicted only to his close circles

I know I piss and moan about people tagging my posts with podcast men but I actually love it whenever one of my blorboposts takes off and everyone tags it with their specific unique guy, it's so cute and it makes me happy.
