Nice was taking a leisurely stroll to Starlight Shrine, not in any real rush. Everyone else in Stella City seemed to be out and about today, and a lot of them seemed to be going the same place as him; it was kind of weird.

When he finally arrived at the shrine, he found the distinct head of purple hair that he was looking for almost right away.

“Hey, Art!” he called out to his friend, closing the distance between them rapidly. “Why’d you call me out here, anyway? Is it some kind of special occasion or something?

     « ☀️ » if there was one downfall to the summer time, it was how quick a day could turn from bright and sunny to torrential downpours within the matter of moments. it wasn’t a particularly nice day-- you could tell there was rain afoot by the humidity, but when leaving the chateau today, the prince wasn’t expecting it so soon. at least he was only on a stroll through the park and not the beach when the sky decided to open up and wreak havoc. which truly was a shame, since his clothes were not cheap and he takes an hour to get his hair as nice as it is. now he’s stuck in the middle of a wide open park with absolutely nothing to cover his head with. seems like someone else was in the same situation as him. 

     with rain coming down in buckets, making it hard to keep his wet hair out of his face, he looked to the stranger and offered a weak smile, “seems like we are in quite a predicament.” never minding space even with a new face, he grabbed the other’s wrist and began to run. where? who knows, but maybe soon they’d run into some place to cover them. “i hope you do not mind me dragging you along, but i assumed you would like to get someplace dry too!”

Pool. She had the rules explained to her, use the cue to shoot the white ball towards the balls arranged in a triangle pattern on the other side of the table. If any of the balls rolls into the corner, she would aim for that type for the rest of the game, right? The eight ball is always last.

She didn’t want her companion to be left waiting as she stared down the white ball, so she made the first shot and launched the ball at the triangle.

The white ball struck at the formation and balls scattered all around, but none of them entered a hole. She turned to her opponent. “Erm...what do we do now?”

Nice took Art’s hand in his and brought it to his lips, keeping their eyes locked all the while.

“Kissing you is really fun,” he said, grinning against the back of his hand.

↔ = The character’s ability to read directions

Nice doesn’t read directions. Not only is his innate ability to excel at most things he does usually enough to allow him to wing it, he doesn’t really care about the rules. Even if it’s something as simple and easy to understand as how to play a board game, he would much rather make it up as he goes along.

± = The character and what they think about math

He’s very good at math. It’s really easy for him to grasp theoretical concepts and remember formulas, so of course he excels here. Personally, I think his favorite kind of math is set and number theory. He doesn’t really think one way or the other about it, though. He mostly just sees it as something he knows about and understands pretty well, and that’s about it.

Cute girls :3c But he can also get a little flustered if he gets stuck expressing his feelings to someone directly. He’s a pretty blunt person otherwise, but he’s just not good at that kind of thing.

Nice rested his head on his hand, grinning at his opponent instead of looking at the chessboard. He was a developing a proper bishop and knight checkmate, and it was basically all going to fall into place with this final move. It was simple enough to take advantage of the weak light squares surrounding Art’s castle once Nice had taken his fianchetto bishop, and now it was about time to finish things off.

Art always got too single-minded when he got close to checkmate, and he left himself wide open.

Nice moved his bishop into its final, aggressive position.

“Checkmate.”

❤️ for a romantic kiss

Nice wasn’t a romantic guy, but there were times when he wanted to express himself, too, even if he was pretty clumsy about it most of the time. It would usually be random things that caught his interest and made him want to be affectionate, and this time it was definitely the look on Art’s face when Nice pointed out the bit of whipped cream he’d gotten on his nose. Even if it was “out of character” for him, he couldn’t help it. It was just a small kiss, slow and sweet and surprising.

“Geez, you always taste like ice cream.”
