I'm happy they hired the same actors of their sons for their younger version. Xiao Lingchen's actor (Bai Shu) owned the TBOY ep 34 so I can't forget him. I can feel his hatred toward Emperor Mingde with his performance. As for Xiao Chong's actor (Fan Jinwei), I know him as Da Wu/Wu Xi from WOH and I find his Xiao Chong very soft. We all know from TBOY that Emperor Mingde is not the best brother/ruler/father because of his unfairness and he's quite vulnerable so I think Xiao Chong's actor fit him. Look harmless but actually sly.

I'm fairly sure @hphaeton is here just to blow my mind about things. First it was pointing out that Ye Xiu's voice actor in The King's Avatar was Yu Sifeng's voice actor in Love and Redemption

Gosh, Xiao Chong finally realizes that his little brother truly loves him. And I think that Xiao Se will gladly leave the throne to Xiao Chong too since he never wanted it in the first place, he's always wanted his big brother on the throne because Xiao Se honestly believes that Xiao Chong deserves it.

Argh, gimme more loving, non-dysfunctional brothers, dramaland, please! Can't you see how beautiful that is?

Also, Fan Jinwei’s stupid dialogue doesn’t end at just 少年歌行 (yes I know that technically The King’s Avatar was first). Qiao Yifan has this line in episode 36 and I’m just O_o at it.

Can a native mandarin speaker please explain what the hell does “我其实一直跟你们在一起” mean? Like, the english translation made no sense so I tried every translator I could find, and it still doesn’t make sense with the narrative of the story.

Unless he really is saying that he’s been stalking everyone?! Please tell me I am missing some sort of cultural meaning because otherwise...yeah, I can’t lol. Any help would be appreciated!
