Soleil's Fancuries For Your Consideration post

Oh boy i didn't see the Fancuries coming back in my 2024 calendar, but here we go! Welcome to the Soleil Equinox FYC post!!

Rina Amano has started her 2nd year at Nanairogaoka Middle School, reuniting with old and making new friends. Even if it doesn’t seem like it, she has a deep love for fairytales and gushes about them whenever she can! But now, she has the fate of a kingdom resting on her shoulders! A fairy known as Pachi was sent to Earth in order to recruit the new age of Pretty Cure, because a new and powerful evil has erupted and is taking control of Märchenland! Now, it’s up to the Pretty Cure to defend Märchenland once again, or the entire kingdom will suffer from an unhappy ending!

The Dark Knights

The successors of the Bad Time Trio, these three serve to fix what they had started. Believing that it’s possible to revive Lord Pierrot, their goal is to take the Happiness of others and use it against the people, hoping to reignite the world into darkness

I have two of the Three Knights finished however!!

Marionetta

An energetic jester who specialized in puppetry - she’s the 3rd in command, using electric strings to control her targets and making it easier to monitor their behavior

(She was previously nominated for Worst Villain in 2022) Red

A spoiled young man who sees himself as a prince of the Knights, although second in command. He utilizes his card abilities as his main source, but doesn’t mind using them to keep his targets at bay…

My first Fancuries "For Your Consideration" post

Seasonal Sister Pretty Cure:

Themes: Sisters, fairytales, and seasons

I came up with Seasonal Sister Pretty Cure in 2021 and revamped it in 2022. It's about Aimee, who's from “Aurore and Aimee,” and her talking pink pomeranian, Acorn getting rescued by a woman named Katherine after her sister Queen Aurore of Champomme accuses her of kidnapping and killing her son. Katherine uses a magic book to take Aimee to a secluded forest where nymphs live. The fairytales were the nymphs’ history and fairytale authors based books on the history. Many Seasonal Sister teams lived in the town briefly before Aimee’s team. The team's enemies are Baba Yaga who wants to take the nymphs' magic, the knights of morning, day, and night, and the cures’ sisters. The power ups are themed after seasons and fairytale tropes. The weapons are fans.

The series movie will be about the cures and villains meeting the original versions of them that I made up in 2021 in an alternate universe.

Amelia “Aimee” Isaac/Cure Orchard:

Aimee becomes a cure in episode 1 and leads Seasonal Sister Pretty Cure. Fifteen-year-old Aimee and her twenty-five year old sister Aurore were raised by their mom, a famous actress named Fifi, in the early 1900s. Their dad went into a forest over a decade ago and died. Ten years before Aimee became a cure, Fifi got a chance to get a role that could help her be a famous actress liked she dreamed but she needed to lie that she was younger. She lied, got the role, and sent Aurore through the forest her husband died in to stay with her relatives. Aurore didn't come back and Fifi and Aimee thought she was dead. A lady named Carine took care of Aurore and taught her how to do magic. When she grew up, Aurore fell in love with the kingdom's young king. They got married and had a son, but he went missing. After they searched for him for two years, Aurore blamed Aimee.

Aimee loves shopping because she grew up in a city. She bakes often, especially desserts like caramel apples which her cure theme is. Aimee’s love interest is her sister's husband's younger brother, Florimond, who moves into the forest in episode 5. Aimee's the fall cure.

Princess Victoria “Tori” Bird/Cure Aquatic:

Tori becomes a cure in episode two and is the second in command. She's been Aimee's frenemy since 2021, but they'll also be best friends when the season ends. She's fifteen and the summer cure. Tori’s the Little Mermaid. Her grandma told her a false legend that a mermaid can get a soul by being in a relationship with a human. Liss the sea sorceress turns her into a human. Tori tries to date a prince on land named Finn, but he starts dating her slightly older sister, Lena. Katherine rescues her from needing to hurt Finn and gives her a potion to reverse Liss’s potion.

Tori loves singing and listening to 50s music because she lived in the 50s. She wants to start a band with the cures. Like Aimee, she doesn't like her fairytale. Tori’s theme is the ocean. Tori’s the summer cure.

Princess Geraldine “Deenie” Jang/Cure Meadow:

Deenie became a cure in episode 3. She's thirteen and Tatterhood. She and her twin sister Linda were born because of magic. Deenie was crazier than Linda. Her mom nicknamed her Tatterhood. On Christmas, witches attacked her palace. Linda's head got turned into a bluebell, but she joined the witches. Then, Katherine took Deenie and later on, her talking goat friend Astrid to the forest. Deenie’s from the 20s.

Deenie likes wild animals and riding horses. She practices fighting with a giant wooden spoon. Deenie’s themes are hyacinths. Deenie's the spring cure.

Gwendolyn “Gwen” Tighe/Cure Frost:

Gwen became a cure in episode 4. She's thirteen and Rose Red. Her sister Hally aka “Snow White” and she were nicknamed because of their hair colors. They grew up in a forest with their mom. They met a bear named Arthur and became best friends. Months later, Gwen and Hally tried to help Arthur and found out that an evil man cursed him. Hally became a witch and Katherine took Gwen, and after her, Arthur to the forest. Katherine wanted to help Hally and Gwen. Gwen’s from the 80s.

Gwen likes writing poetry. Tori wants her to join her band and write songs. Gwen gardens, too. Gwen's themes are frosted roses. Gwen's the winter cure.

Katherine Fernandez:

Katherine used to be a cure and takes care of Seasonal Sister Pretty Cure cures. She's from “Kate Crackernuts.”

The knights:

Quinn and Lacy are sisters and Silvia is their stepsister. They're Baba Yaga’s best trio. Quinn is the oldest and is more serious and empathetic than Silvia, who's bratty. They're from “Vasilisa the Beautiful.”

Fangirls! Pretty Cure:

Themes: Fandoms, fan work

Fangirls! is the team I want to revamp next. It's about four girls who are in a fandom that's popular. The mascot is a red poodle named Domi. The big good never is in contact with the cures, but it's implied it's the author of the books that started the fandom.

The cures:

Rosalind/Cure Fanfiction (will probably change her cure name, a pink cure)

Irene/Cure Silhouette (the blue fanart cure)

Joy/Cure Ship (a yellow cure)

Franchesca/Cure Hypothesis (the green theory cure)

The villains:

Mary Sue (the power desiring middle aged big bad)

Y/N (a girl stuck going between Y/N fanfictions and shapeshifting into the readers)

Break a Leg! Pretty Cure:

Themes: theatre, triple threats, Broadway

This is the one I'm most likely to write next. It's about high schoolers named Aviana and Carina being in the ensemble of their high school’s production of Wicked. Aviana is an actress and Carina is a singer and a popular girl. A dancer named Tegan is also in Wicked. She becomes friends with the cures. The mascot is a ferret named Thea. The transformation devices are scripts and highlighters. The power ups are Broadway pins.

Ah, the transformation items. A necessary product placement to absolutely destroy the pockets of Japanese parents.

When I started pondering about what the henshin items would look like, I immediately thought about pens! (Now at the time, I had not watched Star Twinkle, so I had no idea that pens were already a thing lol)

But that wasnt enough! I needed to have something else. Since the idea was that these quil pens were meant to manefest the outfit with ink, I wanted that ink to have some importance too. And so, the Esseneces were born!

For those who know me back in my early days on Amino, Cure Sugar’s design was something that stumped me for the longest time! In fact, she stumped me so much, she was the only cure I had designed.

Cure Spice and ESPECIALLY Cure Matcha were getting no love back in those days lol.

It took me a while, but soon enough I had finally drawn the other two. The main motif of the series is angels, since they are gaurdian angels battling people’s inner demons.

The designs were very hard to coorinate at first, but I finally got them down.

Honestly, this one surpised me! I had no idea people wanted to make a fanfancure for my seires! That my designs and concepts conpelled at least one person to want to make their own character.

This really means a lot to me. Honestly in the begingng I was worried my designs were too much, that people didn’t find my ideas appealing enough, which is why I redesigned them and changed the concepts so much. Seeing this just told me that I’m doing somthing right. (っ◔︣◡◔᷅)っ ♡

FYC Fancuries 2022

Hello everyone! It’s fancuries season! Here’s what I’ve been up to!

Promised Dreams 🦋 Pretty Cure

Promised Dreams has finally been posted! The prologue and chapter one is currently out on Ao3 and chapter 2 is in progress! Here’s what it’s about!

Promised Dreams Pretty Cure has themes of Family, Promises and Dreams and motifs of Nature and Wishes.

As The Kingdom of Wishes is attacked by a dangerous Alliance, young fairy Eos is sent to Earth, The Kingdom of Dreams, with three Cure Compacts. Determined to save her kingdom and Queen, she is in search for the warriors from myth, Pretty Cure.

Meanwhile, Myra Wilson has just moved to Aislgrove, and is attempting to stay optimistic about it. She can't help but doubt the promises of her parents that this would be the last. After a tour of the township, she comes across Eos and then, The Alliance. Endeared by the young duckling, and emboldened in the face of danger, Myra makes a promise that resonates with a Cure Compact that allows her to transform into the Pretty Cure of Fauna, Cure Destiny! Now it's up to her and Eos to find the other two Cures and discover a way to save the Kingdom and Earth!

Here are the currently introduced main characters!

Myra Wilson is a quiet girl who is new to Aislgrove, trying her best to be optimistic about moving again after so many times. She has a reckless streak, jumping in to save others, especially animals, she just can’t help it! She also takes her promises seriously, but it can be difficult to keep a lot of them when you’re constantly moving around. She’s the Pretty Cure of Fauna, Cure Destiny!

Eos is a young fairy from the Kingdom of Wishes, she is a diligent magic apprentice who was on placement to study under the Court of the Kingdom when the Alliance attacked. Sent to Earth by Queen Liora, she is tasked with finding the Pretty Cure’s, now if only she could get over some of her many fears.

Queen Liora is rather young for a queen, at 20 years old, she has only been on the throne for 4 of those years after the banishment of her grandparents. She tries her best though, and having become a Pretty Cure five years prior, she does her best to keep her subjects safe much to her guards dismay. She’s the Pretty Cure of Energy, Cure Radiant!

Kinda just wanna direct people to my Toyhouse since i have 3095604060 series and a lot of them i dont talk about as often, even if they do exist lol.  I have left some out since i don’t feel like it’s fair for them potentionally nominated if i don’t have much for them ;v;; hope that makes sense lol doesn’t seem fair. Now... don’t get me wrong... this is gonna be LOOOONGGGGG....

Prime Pretty Cure

My ‘main’ series. It has light/darkness, and elemental thematic, and themes about overcoming and going against expectations. It’s about four evil goddesses who are reincarnated into heroic Cures, and have to go up against the darkness they created basically. A lot of reincarnation fun lol.

Radiant Lumiere / Radiant Lumiere ‘Ray Bennet’ (white/rainbow/pink)  Main-character(?), and a being of pure light. Was basically a princess and now has to deal with living on a new planet, and discovering a lot of new emotions, like friendship lol. They also have to deal with the fact that they are not as Special and Perfect as they think they are.

Cure Splash / Morgan (blue) Salty bitch who loves dancing. Kinda tsundere about friendship, and likes being alone and doing things by herself, but slowly starts enjoying the company of her  new friends lol.

Cure Terra / Beryl (green) Upbeat and cheerful mood-maker. Wild-child and loves being in nature, as well making lucky charms. Cherishes friendship deeply and will do anything for them.

Cure Ember / Hanan (red) Generally level-headed nerd, who struggles with her internal anger issues. Despite not being the first to transform/join, she takes up the leader-role among the group, by virtue of having probably the most braincells,,, aka 2.

Cure Gale / Connie Sokolov (purple) Started out being in the villain’s grasp, some angst, and was saved early on. Very shy and soft, and struggles with big anxiety but she slowly becomes more and more brave, in small ways. Loves drawing, especially landscapes/skies.

Oyasumi Pretty Cure Z

[Dreams, Sleep, Sky]

A veteran cure needs help to save her home, and to prevent a group of evil cures to put everyone into a deep slumber. Luckily, two teens are here to help!

- Cure Luna / Nemu Yozora (gray+pink) Dumb 12 year old. Very adventurous and full of boundless energy, always out and about, and searching for excitement. Adores her grandma.  - Cure Stella / Mayumi ‘Mayu’ Hoshizawa (yellow) Mature and level-headed, and with a love for fashion and space (among five billion other things). Can get a little too over her head, but is generally kind and protective of others. Falls in love easily. - Cure Cloud / Sayo (blue) Sheep mascot and a 'veteran' Cure (has never been in a true battle, only training). A disaster, and always tries to act stronger and more capable than she is... but in reality is very sensitive and easily scared. She adores hugs and naps. _______________________________________________________

Happy Haunt Pretty Cure

[Halloween and Monsters]

The main character is a regular human idiot who gets isekai-ed to the monster world. She is more like the mascot and somehow is able to give five monsters the powers to become pretty cure :O

- Cure Inferno / Iggy Flamel (red) Laid-back and relaxed demon who just lazes around all day. Always smiling and is hard to read because of it. Can come across as a bit indifferent and passive-agressive at times, and doesn’t really like humans. Loves spicy donuts lol - Cure Vitalis / Cattleya (blue) Lively and hard-working zombie who wants to be helpful to others, and lives with Iggy, as the two share a history and are very close. Cattleya is innocent and a little slow, but always stays optimistic.  - Cure Skelet / Donna Boone (green) Charismatic skeleton working at the local pub (which she often performs at too). Despite being a bit self-absorbed and arrogant, Donna has a sisterly personality and a strong sense of justice, and will stand up for those who can’t. - Cure Arachne / Frida Lace (purple) Creepy nerd spider-girl who is a writer under a secret pen name. Most of the things she does is for ‘inspiration‘. While she seems a little meek, she can  be quite sly and pushy. Has no sense for personal space. - Cure Wolf / Verena ‘Rena’ Lovett (yellow) Large, very strong... but also extremely shy and submissive. Underneath her timid shell, lies a short temper, and when transformed becomes a raging beast (until development hehe). Also loves getting pets.

can’t forget the main character(TM) Kaede Akizuki. She isn’t a cure but just a dumb human who is basically the mascot of the group lol. She is fearless (almost to a dangerous length) and energetic and loves horror. Isn’t all that sad about being stuck in a magical monster world, since she doesn’t have to go back to her shitty retail job. awesome.  _______________________________________________________

Heart~to~Heart Pretty Cure

[Types of Love, Angels, Life and Death, Found Familyyyyyy!!!] 

Two spirits get promised a second chance at life,,,, if they become precure and defeat the source of what is corrupting spirits into attacking the living. Now, they have to pretend to be a mother and daughter... and then their neighbour gets involved too... welp. 

- Cure Dear / Ema (pink) Gentle and sweet, but a bit overbearing at times. She is trying very hard to keep up with the current trends and be ‘hip with the kids‘ but it’s not working. Has to pretend to be Madoka’s mom, but finds Madoka’s attitude difficult to deal with.   - Cure Amity / Madoka (blue) Emotional and stubborn, who, despite claiming she is independent, cares a lot about other people’s opinions. She has a vulnerable side and had trouble opening up to others. Really likes fashion and cute trinkets. Wants to make the most out of her second chance.  - Cure Prayer / Risa (orange) Very early late-addition Cure who is not a spirit. Is just the duo’s nosy neighbour. She appears to be able to have a sixth sense and vaguely sense spirits, which causes her to get involved. Risa is very carefree, has a new job every day, and has all the hot gossip from town. Madoka thinks she’s very cool, unlike Ema lol Ah yes, the series that truly made me kisekae death lol. their design were so hard but hey!! they’re here and i’m proud of them hehe   _______________________________________________________ Tokimeki! PrecureLand!

[Theme Parks, Attractions, Happiness] A magical theme park suddenly appears in our world! But thanks to a villain, it’s missing most of its attractions, and thus can’t collect any funergy to spread happiness around. Oh no!!! This is where the precure come in hehe. dumbasses now have to both look after a theme park and fight evil...  This series actually has a powerpoint lol. it has a lot more info in there! :D

Cure Loop / Henny Vreugdeberg (pink) Quiet but an earnest and creative girl with a special interest in theme parks. Has trouble expressing herself, so she uses her colorful clothing to help. Her catchphrase is 'success.' Cure Bash / Riki Hayami (orange) An outgoing, gutsy, and extremely athletic daredevil who is a vlogger, mostly doing wild challenges. She's kinda reckless at times and not afraid of anything... except ghosts. Cure Twirl / Camellia ‘Cam’ Theodora Gray (green) Cam comes across as mature and charismatic, but secretly looks down on others and is quite arrogant. They are intelligent and business-oriented, and eventually start helping the park from behind the scenes. Secretly is afraid to ride most attractions. Cure Scream / Dolores ‘Dolly’ (blue) The personification of the Fear Bastion attraction that closed down. Dolly's emotions were exploited by the big bad, but she realises he's only using her for his own gain. She's a ghost with a timid and gloomy nature, but will call you a bitch behind your back lol. Royal Parade / Queen Maisie Funfun Festivale Amuse Miracure (purple/rainbow) Extra Hero and basically the 'Mickey Mouse' of PrecureLand. Starts out of a lifeless little toy, but eventually comes back to life. Maisie is very classy and sweet, but can be snooty and a bit old-fashioned. She adores sweets. _______________________________________________________ PHEW... that’s a handful that I at least showed off a bit. but there are so many more series, which i feel i havent shown off much yet (but really should, but that’s for later haha). Nemo's Fancuries Nominee Spotlight!!

Heyo, it’s Nemo the Memo/Nemo Jokard! This is my nominee spotlight post. I got four nominations and I’m really surprised (and also overjoyed) that I got this many since this is my first time participating in the fancuries. Now let’s get to what I was nominated for.

Chapter of the Year: Nature Shift! Precure Chapter 7: Tupper’s Fever!?

This chapter was pretty fun to write. I enjoyed sprinkling in a bit of Tupper’s past along with her interactions with each of the members of the Nature Shift! Team. Also it was a bit of a breather from the previous motw plots, so I didn’t have to write any fights which is always a plus. Here’s the link if you want to read it: 

Unique Motif of the Year: Beauty Guru Precure

The motifs in Beauty Guru Precure are beauty and makeup. Precure has done the whole makeup motif with Tropical Rouge before technically, but I feel like it was more of an afterthought if anything and didn’t really relate to the main themes at all. The motifs of makeup and beauty tie into the major themes of fanseries which are inner beauty and being true to yourself.

Best Mascot Design: Tupper

What can I say? I love this bratty cat so much. I’m glad other people feel the same way too. Tupper’s not the most realistic looking cat, but we don’t care <3 She’s adorable and that’s what matters.

Ideal Best Friend: Etsu Akino/Cure Fall

Etsu is that best friend who you call when you want to be bailed out of prison. She is always looking out for you and will try to discourage you from doing dumb stuff. She cares a lot about her friends and will throw hands if you mess with them.

Hi I may not be nominated, and I’m barely on Precure tumblr or on the fancuries community, and HorrorPC may be going through a huge revamp rn, but 2 of my girls were about to make the event!!! Unfortunately the others weren’t able to make it, but maybe next year they can :)

Ongoing Fanseries of the Year - Tidal Song Precure

TSP is my pride and joy. It's a project I've been working on since I started high school, and carries a special place in my heart. I love everything about it - to the oceanic motifs to the messages about mental health and self care. I ort of consider it a love letter to myself in a way. I've done a lot with th project, from art projects to songs... I know this is quite disjointed, I just love the series a lot and I'm glad I've been able to touch people's hearts with this passion project of mine.

Most Helpful Mascot- Azure (from TSP)

Azure is a meri (a sea sprite that bonds with mermaids) who takes the form of a baby sea turtle. Nine-year-old Azure considers herself to be quite mature and takes her job very seriously. As Odessa’s bonded meri, it’s her responsibility take care of her (and by extension, the other cures as well). She knows a lot about the ocean and the lore around it. Though she can be blunt at times, she cares deeply for the cures and yearns to do her best for them. In chapter nine, she displays some magical prowess of her own which she shows through a technique all meris can perform, called The Lull.

In summary, Azure cares deeply about Odessa and the other cures, and although she is young and still learning, she gives her all in whatever she does.

Excellence In Writing

I've been writing for 12 years now, and I love it :) It's a great way to express yourself and convey things in interesting and meaningful ways.I recently wrote a new version of Tidal Song and showed it to my writing teacher, and here's what he had to say:

I love how writers can create new worlds from words and inspire people just with phrases. Overall, it's just a really fun hobby and I'm touched that people enjoy my work :) I also wanted to share a snippet of Tidal Song content that I'm working on...

Odessa picks up the bracelet like it’s made of glass and she’s afraid it’ll shatter into dust, but slides it on anyway. After admiring it for a moment, she looks at me and gives me the brightest smile I’ve ever seen. She beams like she’s made of sunshine and all that’s good and I feel my heart thudding in my chest.

Excellence in Dollmakers

As I do not consider myself an artist, I'm thankful for dollmakers that allow me to create a visual representation of my characters. I used dollmakers for the Tidal Song girls, as well as all my precure OC's, but I wanted to show a few pieces that I've worked on in the past...

FYC Fancuries:

hello hello! I’ve decided to let people know about my current Fancure project, star spark precure! 

Star Spark is a reboot/redesign of the redesigns I did back in 2020. This precure series is one I’ve had characters for since 2015 but I’m here now to actually do something with these precure ideas and make a cohesive universe and story for them. Any story content will be delivered in small mini comics and/or concept art at the moment as I’m still fleshing things out. Currently everything to do with this series and it’s 2020 version can be found on my tumblr page.  As of this post this redesign series only has half of the core cast designed and I need to flesh out the new story more before I can work on the sixth rangers and their fairy. 

StarSpark’s main motifs and minerals, Knights and order vs Chaos, the villains being bringers of chaos and the precure being the defenders of order. 

First off CURE PLATINUM! (Percy) 

Percy (she/they) is an energetic and dumb leader. She’s easily excitable but lacks interest and focus in non-physical activities, an absolute ball of endless energy, she’s the tank of the team and a huge fan of magical girls. 

CURE COPPER! (June) 

June (She/her) is your shy academic type. While she’s very book smart she lacks in real world application of these skills and is terrified of the outdoors due to most of it being unknown to her. She’s the main damage of the duo. 

GIN(KO) the group’s Fairy 

Gin (Ginko in his human form) (He/Him) He’s a precure Historian and LOVES researching anything to do with them. He’s mainly there to fill the new cures in wit their duties and is the team’s tactician as he can barely fight.

Nominee Spotlight: Cure Fang

Cure Fang from Trick or Treat? Pretty Cure! is nominated for Cutest Design for a Cure at the 2022 Fancuries. Here’s what the creator @aemulatorizrafel​ has to say:

First of all, thank you to whoever nominated my fancure I’m honored! I made Carmella a.k.a. Cure Fang for fun on Halloween last year because, not only do I love the holiday, I thought Halloween- themed magical girls would be cute. She was the first one I designed out of the team and probably one of my favorites out of the four. I knew right away I wanted Fang to have a red outfit to suit her vampire motif. Since she’s the leader and there isn’t actually a pink Cure on the team I added in some pink accents to make it more obvious she’s the lead (or maybe it’s not obvious aha). For Fang’s hair I also knew right away I wanted her to have crazy curly drills (I love magical girls with drill hair so that is another reason). The pointy pink buns I wanted to represent big bat ears but because they’re pink they ended up being very reminiscent of Sailor Chibi Moon but I don’t hate that~ Other than that Carmella is a spunky gal who loves cherry flavored candy and advocating for the conservation of bats and how important they are in nature.

Fancuries FYC: Yo-Ho-Ho! Pirate Pretty Cure

Hello all! I'm Rags, relatively new to the fancure community, and this past year or so I've been working hard on a fanseries of my own called Yo-Ho-Ho! Pirate Pretty Cure. I haven't posted the actual story yet since it's very much still a work in progress, but here's what I have posted for it so far!

Yo-Ho-Ho! is about four girls, Merry, Leah, Anna, and Laci, who become the Pirate PreCure to help save the Infinite Sea, an alternate world where pirates do battle against the insidious Phantom Storm Company. Brought together by Polly, a parrot pirate who can take a human form, they have to gather the pieces of the Ultimate Treasure Map and solve the riddle of legendary pirate Calamity Jax before the Phantom Storm Company uses it to take over the Infinite Sea forever.

The girls transform using the Treasure Pacts and Golden Keys pictured above. By inserting the key into the lock on the front of the Pact and spinning the ship's wheel inside, the four of them can transform into the Pirate PreCure! Polly brings the Pacts with her when she arrives from the Infinite Sea, and the Golden Keys are found in Merry's grandparents' attic.

Meredith "Merry" Read/Cure Captain: Merry is a grade 8 student originally from Toronto who moves to Dovern's Landing, Newfoundland right at the start of the story. She's normally friendly and passionate, but grief has made her grouchier and angrier, and it's difficult for her to make connections with others. However, she also can't take an injustice lying down, and through her willingness to stand up for herself and others, she can inspire people to do the same. Merry likes horror movies and math puzzles, and since moving to Newfoundland she's developed a fascination with the ocean.

Leah Drake/Cure Lookout: Leah is a grade 8 student who has lived in Dovern's Landing her whole life. She's a great athlete who loves sports, especially soccer, but her quiet worrywart personality make her a prime target for bullies. She's well-liked by her teachers and teammates, but struggles to make connections with people her own age. Aside from sports, Leah also likes cooking, and often winds up doing a lot of the cooking for her busy household.

Anna Rivvers/Cure Buccaneer: Anna is a grade 7 student who moved to Dovern's Landing from Halifax, Nova Scotia about 2 years ago. She's full of energy and somewhat childish, easily distracted and lacking focus. She often inspires others to get up and go, and she tries to bring out the best in people. However, she can also sometimes be clingy and shallow. Anna loves dancing, music, fashion, and shopping, and frequently begs her stepmom for shopping trips in St. John's.

Laci Drake/Cure Corsair: Laci is grade 9 student and Leah's older sister. In contrast to her younger sister, Laci can be loud and brash, but prefers quiet solo hobbies like drawing and reading. She's the secretary for their local public library's Teen Advisory Board and she takes her position very seriously. She worries constantly about Leah, especially since this is the first time the two of them aren't going to the same school. She's very protective, sometimes overly so, and extraordinarily stubborn. Laci spends most of her time drawing, reading, and playing an MMORPG called Fantasy Skies Online.

Polly Layton: Polly is a hot-tempered pirate from the Infinite Sea. She escaped to the Mainland (our world) with the Treasure Pacts on orders from her captain, Locke Prescott, in order to find the Pirate PreCure and stop the Phantom Storm Company once and for all. She alternates between two forms: a red parrot and a redheaded woman, both wearing an eyepatch over their left eye. Has a tendency to scream insults in the same style as Captain Haddock.

Calamity Jax: Jax is a legendary pirate from the Infinite Sea who also shows up in Mainland folklore. They were responsible for establishing the Pirate Code, creating the Treasure Pacts, and scattering the pieces of the Ultimate Treasure Map on the Mainland.

The Phantom Storm Company: A fleet of mercenary ships who have made it their sworn mission to stamp out piracy for good. Led by Admiral Zora Revenant, a strict, conniving shark of a woman with a personal grudge against pirates, and her personal ship, the Sea Ghost. Charges obscene amounts of money to chase down pirates for private clients and won't help those who can't or won't pay for their services.

Commodore Trio: The three best commodores in the Phantom Storm Company: Avery Wraith, Marcie Haunt, and Lindsey Shade. Wraith's ship is the Wild Wind, Haunt's is the Night Hurricane, and Shade's is the Crooked Star. Haunt and Polly are Extremely Divorced.

Bonnie: Bonnie is the left hand of Admiral Revenant. She is sent to the Mainland after several failed attempts by the Commodore Trio to judge their progress and report back to Revenant. To say anything else about her would be major spoilers.
