Hands Shoka her soda. Was it hang out and game day? It sure enough was. Just getting in some chill gaming for a little bit before the big drop in two days!

"melon soda? don't mind if i do." she accepts the offering gratefully, twisting off the top so she can nurse its contents without smudging her lipstick. "i am ready for the shitshow to commence." satisfied, shoka picks up her controller and hits the button that allows her to join the game.

Beat does not get into EleStra. Beat tries to get into FanGO, but really only plays when his friends are playing (like intentionally doing FanGO meet-ups to catch rare Fanemon or raid battles). Beat’s true love, on the other hand, will forever be Tin Pin Slammer.

❛ Yo, why's dis one a weird color? ❜ He tilts his phone screen in Rindo's direction. He's been trying out FanGO lately because Rhyme got into it but it's admittedly a lot to take in all at once. There's so much to keep track of: elements, stats, strengths and weaknesses. He likes to think he's pretty good at games once he figures them out, it's just the actual figuring it out part he has to get through first. If anyone can help with that it's probably Rindo, right?

Weird color? Oh, is it-

Rindo's already leaning in a bit more than he should to take a look at the screen- and sure enough, there it is, his eyes wider for a moment before there's a smile on his face.

"A chromatic! That's really a lucky catch!"

And he almost leaves it at that before remembering that Beat is even newer than Rhyme at this.

"They're color variants of Fanemon- they don't do anything special in gameplay, but they're very, very rare to find, so people who like to collect are always looking for them."

The excitement in Rindo's voice is almost surprising, so rare to find most of the time- and he's still going, that just as rare, bright grin not leaving his face as he keeps talking.

"It takes a lot of work to start building a decent collection of chromatics, especially with some of them that only appear with really specific situations and in some weird places- I can't believe you got so lucky this early into the game! You know, a lot of people consider their first one really special too- it's kinda like a good luck buddy for some of them, I still have mine here too-"

And he's already going through his own collection to pull it up to show, still sort of talking about the one Beat has just shown him, the excitement only subsiding a bit as he goes on.

Seems like he doesn't intend on shutting up for a good while, either, by now-

Pokédex Entry: Legend says Jetier learned how to be ice and rock type by building tiers over frozen waters.

Jetier, is the pokemon version of me. A while back, some of you may remember... though it was a while back... some pokemon fans were drawing new pokemon inspired by themselves, and this is the one I had imagined. It's taken till now for me to make a proper art for it, but I was really excited to get to it at last.

The idea behind Jetier, was to use Jetty is the name (because I am Jety). A jetty, is a stone structure, much like a dock or tier, that is built off of a coastline.

I wanted to make Jetier an ice type to match me, and a rock type to work with the idea of how Jetier are known for building jettys in the Northern Coastal parts of a map.

I couldn't imagine a good or normal reason at first, for why this design which was already decided on, should have rock type attributes, and I decided it would have been a learned type... or at least that's what it would say in the pokedex. And why shouldn't that work for the ice type as well? So I decided that Jetier, in legend anyway and pokedex entree, would have originally been a normal type pokemon, but as generations of them kept doing what they did, they learned new to be a different type.

The jettys they make are built of Ice, Stone, and Snow. No one knows why they make them.

Jetier have no arms, but they have very powerful legs they use to kick around the ice and rock. The coat is not part of their body, and it can be removed, much the same way a Chansey's egg can be taken out of the pouch.

they're sitting on a bench in miyashita after a long day of fango hunting & window shopping. there are no words spoken, just quiet company with brushing shoulders & bumping knees. eventually though shoka will feel the soft weight at her side grow suddenly heavier. if she looks up, she'll find his head against her shoulder, his eyes closed & breathing slow. how cliché ! apparently all that walking around was more exhausting than expected. just give him a moment.

shoka bites her tongue at the questioning word that almost escapes her lips. she instinctively stiffens, not used to the sensation of touch; but rather than push him away, she allows herself to relax. there's plenty of people around them in the park, but nobody seems to be paying them any mind. certainly, they don't see the flush spreading over her face as she contemplates what to do next.

what, did you stay up too late playing fanemon snap? she questions him silently. her hand raises, almost by itself, until it's level with his head. very gently, afraid to wake him, she runs her fingers through his hair, looking away in embarrassment. hopefully no one will see them like this.

Silent observation when they take notice to the way hands are tugging at the hood, Rhyme is familiar with subtle signs - they have their own masked away after all, though it isn’t openly addressed and instead, she pulls out her phone. “ So this mobile game - can you tell me more about it? I’m learning but if there are secrets to help improve my stats, I’m all ears! “ They smile, holding up the screen so the other can better see their setup.

He almost didn't hear their words, try as he might to put as much as his focus as he could on their presence at his side, just trying his best to stay grounded-

Their voice was... easier to listen to over the noise of the city. And Rindo latched onto every word immediately, just to push away a bit more the noise.

"Oh- yeah- yeah, I could help." And he's sort of hesitantly peeking at the screen, expert eyes scanning all the visible information and mulling it over. There were things that could be improved, he could already tell, but it looked much better than most beginners...

"It's already a nice setup for early game, but you could get a bit more elemental variety there to cover your weak sides- but I'm not sure how easy it'd be to find so early on..."

He's starting to sound more at ease, at least. Not pulling the hood or mask down yet, but one could almost hear traces of a tiny, awkward yet genuine smile in his voice.

"I think I have some spare Fanemon I could give you, though! We can look at them and you can pick the ones you like- oh, and you might need some more berries and heals, the difficulty curve can be tough for some people depending on how you do with the game mechanics right now- and personality too, you need to be careful with that because it can go against the stats you could want to raise... it can make grinding hell sometimes- but unless you're trying to minmax all you really need is a personality that won't clash with your stats-"

His fingers are just idly fidgeting with the hem of his hood by now, not quite tugging at it any more, and all his attention is on her screen, tension starting to leave rigid shoulders and eyes no longer darting around as if trying to find a hidden threat. Whatever it was that clung to his thoughts and made everything feel so much heavier and louder all around him, it was slowly starting to vanish.

It was a relief he needed so, so badly... later, once it would finally hit him what Rhyme's intention truly was, Rindo would try his best to remember to thank her properly. Right now he could go on about FanGO for a while longer.

without warning, haz is suddenly just - there. beside rindo. as though it hasn't been months since the boy turned back time for the last time. " hey, rindo. "

One moment, Rindo had been just leaning against the Hachiko statue, eyes glued to his phone and lightly biting on his lip without even noticing, just focused on this one very important fight before the Fanemon could escape-

"SHIT-!"

And the next he heard a voice that definitely should not be there, way too close for comfort and way too sudden- and Rindo was startled enough to loose his balance and end up on the floor, a pained hiss as he tried to pick himself up before the realization dawned on him, scrambling to get back on his feet and turn around.

"What th- Haz?!"

He most definitely wasn't dreaming now- it was the Angel themself in the flesh( ? ) right in front of his very eyes.

"What- what are you doing here?" Was he happy to see them? Afraid, maybe? Honestly- Rindo wasn't sure. He never quite bothered to figure out how he felt beyond at least grateful for the third and final chance he had been granted, but it wasn't exactly as if he expected to ever see them again. The Game was over, so was Shibuya's narrowly avoided execution, he just wanted to find out how to shoulder all this burden and move on with his life.

Just...

Please, don't let it be yet another threat to the city's existence in this timeline-
