Season 3, Episode 4 | While You Were Sleeping (1995)
Happy holidays from Gabby & Amy! Our gift to you is an episode about the delightful romcom While You Were Sleeping. Released to little fanfare in the summer of 1995, the film established Sandra Bullock as a leading lady and exceeded box office and critics' expectations. Gabby and Amy revisit the film and find its gentle sweetness and farcical rhythms as fresh as a blue spruce.

obsessed with the idea of a young Final Timeline Kisaki confessing his feelings to Takemichi because he's deliberately taken Hinata's place as the first person to treat him so warmly and tenderly in this timeline and he just blurts, "What about Hina???" and Kisaki is confused and responds, "Huh? So you're rejecting me, right?🥺" because Takemichi and Hinata aren't even dating yet and it hits Takemichi all at once the precarious ✨situation✨ he may be in so he quickly says, "No, no, of course not!" and Kisaki quietly asks, "You have feelings for me too, then?🥹" and Takemichi just takes a deep breath and says, "Give me a minute," before contemplating all his life choices like

Quote
There were two women in this house, though I know you only noticed one. Your lady, the mistress, has gone away. I, as befits my position as the hero's friend, have been in bed with the maid.

Finally got around to episode 2 (had a bussssssy couple of weeks and it came out on my birthday so it was literally impossible to find 40+ minutes to watch it 😭 esp because I enjoy pausing to punch the sofa emotionally and rewatching good scenes over and over, especially during first watch, so it's more like an hour and a bit haha) and I gotta say,
Huntlow I would die for you my otp my life I love you so much they really made a non-toxic straight couple for kids to learn from
I haven't even been able to find time (or energy) to draw but dang it if I don't make some emotional huntlow fanart........

Takemichi, Hina, Naoto, and Kisaki friendship in the final timeline in which Takemichi + Kisaki met Hina at cram school and the four of them become a rag-tag squad. One day Hina suggests they all do karaoke and it ends with her and Takemichi belting out tunes while Naoto and Kisaki sit there like
Tumblr media
Kisaki gets jealous that Takemichi and Hina are having so much fun together so he decides he wants to sing too, and Hina is so excited she bullies Naoto into doing the duet with him so that everyone is included. Kisaki and Naoto are not pleased.

An upstate cabin. A freezing snowstorm. A former lover wanting to get back together. A fictional detective warning against it. Political intrigue. A new romance. A writer verging on madness working under a deadline. No one around for miles and miles, except everybody in the world. What could go wrong? More like, what couldn't?
If I were to turn this back into a screenplay, I'd set it during Christmas. Make my first Christmas romance story about chaos, insanity, betrayal, confusion...and, of course, love.

Play 21: Fish in the Dark by Larry David
First performed: Cort Theatre, New York, 2015
Quote: "Oh come on. Why is it that after someone dies all of a sudden people decide to become honest? Not only is honesty not the best policy, it's actually the worst of all possible policies." (Norman)
Stage direction: [he comes running out in his underwear]
Notable cast: Larry David originated the role of Norman himself, with Jason Alexander replacing him later in the run. The premiere cast included Rita Wilson, Rosie Perez, Jake Cannavale and Jerry Adler.
Notes: David's first (and so far only) play benefits from being written in a voice that's instantly recognisable. Drawing on Jewish comedy staples as well as the traditions of classic farce, Fish is a close relative of Curb Your Enthusiasm in its twisted observational dialogue and cringeworthy schemes, but underneath the language there's nothing very new or revolutionary here - actually, in its general shape and tone, this is surprisingly old fashioned theatre for the masses. A solid comedy, but nothing challenging.
Read: for the first time
