image descriptions & the alt text feature

in the past, the alt text feature on tumblr was unreliable. it seems to be better now, so as much as possible, i'm going to start putting image descriptions in alt text (instead of in the body of the post).

some submissions are still coming in using the old tumblr post editor (without the alt text feature), so those posts will continue to use the old format of under-image captions.

there's been an uptick of people tagging me in their own fixed posts, which is wonderful! i love seeing people having fun doing the same thing i started doing for my own amusement :)

that said, i just want to offer apologies if i don't reblog a post of yours. i'm reserving my right not to post/reblog anything that gets sent my way for whatever reason. sometimes it's as simple as me not liking the colour scheme, or sometimes i don't quite agree with some nuance of the post, or sometimes i'm just tired and don't feel like blogging.

ideally your ‘fixed,’ post is transformative—the original text warranted fixing because it was bad™

try to keep things light—insults and callouts and the like probably won’t be posted.

if you want to be anonymous let me know and i’ll redact your info.

Hey could you tag that most recent post? Using gendered terms for genitals makes me uncomfortable (i.e. “female reproductive system”)

on the subject of tagging: as much as i would love to have a blog well-organized enough to include an extensive and thorough content/trigger warning tag system, i only run this blog by myself, and in my free time, so i can't confidently commit to that. if you need something tagged, please do ask and i'll try my best to tag responsibly, but tags and warnings are likely going to be inconsistent on the blog (sorry!), so do what you will with that information to keep yourself safe.

Hey, the reason the faq link is broken on mobile is bc the app can't open blog pages! I have no clue why, but it's been like this for as long as I've been on Tumblr; the easiest way around this is to just make your faq a post instead of a page

Is it possible to submit things anonymously?

hello—yes, it definitely is!

i think if you log out of tumblr before accessing my submissions page, it will let you put in an anonymous submission; however, if you just send something in and include that you want to be anonymous, i'll post it without your name attached ;)

request: maybe have a pinned post with your loose submission guidelines+whatever other "about" info/links youd wanna have for mobile friendly reading? as is most of the links visible on desktop can't be seen on mobile, and the submission page doesnt show your description with the current rules.

Also, your links on desktop for tags ("asks" and "submissions") seem to be broken, staff recently changed the way tag URLs are formatted for some sorta technical reasons or whatever. I think you can find the post explaining how the new system works @staff, or just click through one of the tags and copy+paste the result.
