Day 13 of this journey to getting back into the running game! Working on knee lift, stride length and consistency in steps! All of that equals to less steps, stronger finishes and ultimately faster times. Let’s talk about the last two months of this process. I have never in my entire life had to worry about losing weight or having a ‘fit’ look. So this past year was starting to get to me and I fell into a slope of comfort and saying as long as I look good enough I’m fine. Fast forward to end of 2019 and start of 2020, I started to notice a bulge at the bottom of my shirts. I knew I had to make a change when I took my shirt off in February and had no real definition to my upper body, I couldn’t fix my mind to say it out loud but I was starting to feel uncomfortable in my own skin and doubting myself as a trainer. So I developed a plan to start working out small and build from there. 2-3 days of body weight workouts a week for a month, then progress to weight training again. This is just the beginning and I’m a month into weights and things are coming along nicely. I’ll continue to pt on a little weight until I start back on the goal workouts at the track. This is a reminder to just trust the process. I wasn’t sure things were going in the right direction despite the fact of feeling and moving better I was worried about the number on the scale rising too much. Well it’s all good from looking at the numbers and it’s about to get better. I don’t know why I decided to demo this after my workout....but I did and let’s just say SUNDAY was not as FUN but it was work that it! 4 sets of 55s of work with 15s of rest between exercises and 2 minutes once complete round is done. Equal Sides workout: Warmup with controlled pace on each exercise (15-30 reps) 1 minute of squats 1 minute of push-ups 1 minute of sit-ups 45 seconds of high knees or marches in place. . WORKOUT BREAKDOWN 15 minutes to work your up the rep count. Start with 2 reps of each then keep adding 2 after you complete the whole circuit for duration of time. Then take 1-3 minute break to recover. Set a second 15 minute timer, start at top with your highest rep count and try to get back down to where you started at 2 reps. Don’t take it easy on yourself going up. You want to push yourself and keep constant movement as long as you can, take quick water breaks but treat it as if your only break is the 1-3 minutes of rest at the end. EARN THAT RECOVERY TIME!
