Feeding with L O V E💫 Feeding a child shouldn’t be “taboo”. No one should be told to “cover up” when they’re feeding their child or be given dirty looks from people walking by. Teach your kids (BOYS and GIRLS) about why women even have breasts in the first place, so when they’re older they will be respectful and educated of the female body. Eli definitely will be. Nursing is his favorite thing to do- I don’t think we’ll be stopping anytime soon. #extendedbreastfeeding #feedingwithlove #feedingwithlovesubmission #breastfeedingtoddler P.S. if you don’t like it, simply LOOK AWAY instead of harassing a mother and child. Mom Syringe-Feeding Her Baby in a Touching Postpartum Photo Is Going Viral
✨FEEDING WITH LOVE✨ Syringe feeding a sleepy newborn some colostrum. We love you @wisdombird #carriagehousebirth #carriagehousebirthdoula #chbdoula #feedingwithlovesubmission #feedingwithlove A photo posted by Carriage House Birth (@carriagehousebirth) on Sep 4, 2016 at 5:16pm PDT It seems these days that moms - and nonmoms - can spend all day arguing about which way to feed their child is "the best." With breastfeeding vs. formula feeding, there isn't room for much else in the debate spotlight, but one heartwarming photo of a mom syringe-feeding her baby girl is changing that by going viral, bringing this method of feeding to center stage. Rebecca McKeever, a doula who became a new mom in September 2016, was having trouble getting her sleepy and fussy daughter, Andromeda, to eat about 17 hours after her birth. "A lactation consultant came to our hospital room to ask if we needed help," she told The Huffington Post. "She saw that I was expressing colostrum but that Andromeda wasn't latching, so she brought in little cups and syringes so we could get some food in her. I expressed some colostrum into a cup, then put it into the syringe and fed her little drops at a time." Related This Panoramic Photo Might Just Make You Rethink the Whole "Breast Is Best" Philosophy McKeever said that the little lady loved feeding this way and seemed to be smiling with every drop of milk she got. After the first feed this way, Andromeda perked up a bit and successfully latched for a little while. "We had to do a mix of syringe-feeding and breastfeeding for the first week. I was familiar with syringe-feeding because I am a birth and postpartum doula, but in the moment I really needed someone to suggest it to me! It's amazing how much we all need help and reminding, even when we know things. Support is key." Andromeda is now 3 weeks old and exclusively breastfeeding, but McKeever is nothing but grateful for the trial-and-error start she and her baby got on that first day. "In that moment, I felt so empowered and happy to be able to feed my baby," McKeever said. "Even if it wasn't in the 'traditional' way, it didn't matter to me! I knew it might take some time." http://bit.ly/2goNagR

Hayley Jean- Melbourne, Australia Breastfeeding was probably my second accomplishment in motherhood, first was an induction of labour! The pressure women are put under around breastfeeding is ridiculous! 'Breast is best' but don't show your tit to anyone, don't feed your baby in public because that's just disgusting, how dare you feed your child. I worked bloody hard to breastfeed, I had my mum in hospital with me, trying to manual express my boobs, one drop at a time. I felt like I was being milked like a cow. Each drop of milk was a drop of gold! I was exhaust but I continued because the thing about motherhood is, you don't really get a choice, that little human depends on you! Plus my little man had Jaundice, so the pressure to breastfeed to get the bilirubin out of his little body was even higher. My nipples were 'flat' so I had to use a nipple shield! My eldest brother was my rock during the last few months of pregnancy and at home. He was so calm and cool, he helped me latch the second day we were home. Yep, My Brother! And then there's this guy, my other rock, who didn't leave my side for the 6 days in hospital, who reminded me that everything will be okay. Who would wake up with me, ask if I'm okay or if I need anything, he'd rubbed my back or put his hand on my leg just to let me know he was up and half awake if I needed him. I'm so lucky because my partner is a dream, how works full time but helps no matter how tired he is. 💙 #breastfeeding #mummasofthegram #supportivemummas #motherhood #feedingwithlove #feedingwithlovesubmission #breastfeedingwithoutfear #postpartum #bumpbirthandbeyond #jaundice #partnership #family #photooftheday

Breastfeeding has been one of the hardest and most rewarding things I've ever had to do in my life. And I'd do it 100 times again. #normalizebfing #normalizebreastfeeding #feedingwithlovesubmission #mumblr
