SUPPORTED IS BEST 🙌 to celebrate the 5th International Day to Normalize Breastfeeding I am posting portraits from my adventures in breastfeeding as my little contribution to normalizing breastfeeding by advocating for protection, promotion & support of this outstanding art & celebrating the phenomenal magic of being a milk maker. hoorah for advocating for our interest in & right to nurse & pump in clean, comfortable, safe spaces where we work. SUPPORTED IS BEST 🙌 my son & I : two years, six months into our breastfeeding journey - about two months before it ended ... captured by extraordinary advocate & artist Ashlee @4thtribodies ... the last portrait of me breastfeeding & the first portrait of me (unknowingly) pregnant with my 2nd babe, due this Oct. nursing taught me to trust my instincts to trust my sons instincts over the societal norms that dictate what i should & shouldnt, what I do & dont do, what I hesitate before or hurry thru to the after & the folks that project THEIR embarrassment in an attempt to aggressively conjure MY shame. I dont mind being a courageous loving vulnerable target, so pre-emptively, for the inevitable comments (swipe to see a few gems from past posts): I believe my son will grow with the confidence to view these portraits as beautiful & empowering especially if he ever chooses to have children. I must say, this is THE BEST fad to hit the interwebs in a long time!
