Also this is where I shoutout @kronehaze for Felicette’s Chat Noir design, because oh my gods I love it so much.

You could say Felicette is the result of me being Very Normal and projecting onto PV Felix, applying headcanons until the serotonin hit hard 😂

Felt like doodling a bit and @grimalkinsquill’s oSaW was the recipient of choice

I wanted to see how well I could translate Mars’ expression to when she’s Luckybug and also draw Felicette in full with the swirly tail staff Lynn mentioned to me as one of the possibilities for xir weapon.

Chloe referring to Felicette as "scolaire" in Chapter 2 of of Sages and Warriors was initially meant to be more "you look like an old woman" in vibes over "scolaire", but I ran into the term when looking for a new French word to refer to Dupont as (as it was no longer a collège in the AU overall, just because I can't be arsed to make up a new school name).

Felicette grinning at Chloe and saying, "Good, I wanted to look like that" is supposed to be some niche wordplay.

Chloe mostly meant it as textbook and rigid, but Felicette does want people to think she's unimaginative. It plays into a core concept of Felicette's character where, even without Chat Noir, she'd still be juggling personas (Her True Self vs The Weaponized Self, rather than the old Agreste fashion of The True Self vs The Self the World/My Family/My Spouse Wants). The idea that people view her as unimaginative is beneficial to her. She adores that perception people have of her. She wants it to stay because it is safer for her if people think of her that way.

So she purposefully dresses Like This when she has control over her clothes (which is rarer than you'd think) and makes herself appear Like This specifically to make Gabriel and the people who are in his pocket (Nathalie, essential players of the Tsurugi family), want to have him in their pocket (André Bourgeois, Michael Lee, the Sphinx family, Jagged Stone, etc.), or want to eliminate Gabriel's punk ass from their industry (Audrey Bourgeois, the Keynes family) all think that she's Very Bright. Still, the Poor Dear Can't Formulate A Thought Outside of a Book.

It's safer for her that way.

She's watched what people's perceptions can do and be used for her entire life, being the child of a prolific actress first and a famous fashion designer second. While she doesn't have the most perfect grasp of fully wielding those perceptions or even dissecting them accurately (i.e. her reaction to Mars recognizing her, with her immediate assumption that meant he would want something from her), Felicette does have a theory for how to escape what happened to her mother and a huge component of it is All This in this big ole mini-essay of a ramble. She's been itching to experiment to see if said theory holds water or not but has yet to have a chance to do so before enrolling in Dupont, as Gabriel controlled every aspect of her appearance outside the manor down to the shape of her eyebrows.
