The cub lived for only a few weeks, and yet it never knew how important it will become in the far future. Thank you, little cat, for giving us another glimpse of your beautiful species that once roamed the Earth.

Inspired by a relatively recent discovery of a homotherium cub mummy. The first snow has fallen in my town, so I've also got a little mood from that.

Scottish Wildcat and Scottish Wildkittens. Once widespread across Great Britain, this population of European wildcats is now only found in northern and eastern Scotland. They’re threatened by habitat loss, hunting, and hybridized with domestic cats.

happy black cat day (october 27th)!!

at this point I'm running out of ideas for how to draw these two XD I might have to try something different next black cat appreciation day. maybe hypokits? or I'll just start drawing random black cats instead of ocs.. maybe followers' ocs? don't know how many of you guys have black cat characters I could use though, that's a bit specific. oh, maybe I could just draw Roost doing stuff on his own? a drawing of Roost hunting would be cool I think.

Animal of the Day for January 2: Snow Leopard (Species Panthera uncia)

Fitting the winter theme nicely, the Snow Leopard is one of the most resilient panthers (Subfamily Pantherinae, which are not Felines, despite often being called felines).

Native to the Himalayas, the Snow Leopard's thick fur helps keep it warm and blend into the rocky terrain. It can also leap 30 feet in the air, humbling last year's Serval, and are known to survive falls from hundreds of feet, though such grand heights would likely still result in injury.

Despite its name, the Snow Leopard is more closely related to tigers than to leopards.

Animal of the day: Cheetah! (Acinonyx jubatus) The cheetah is the only known member of its genus, making it unique among the big cats! It is also the fastest land animal, with its top speed being 65 mph! There are several color mutations of the cheetah, two of which are the spotless, or pale cheetah, and the king cheetah (the one with darker spots)! They are commonly associated with the African savannah environments where they are native to, but a little-known fact is that they actually inhabit parts of Iran as well and used to roam throughout the Middle East! Dutch met up with another big cat (who took some pity on him) and they had a lil nap together 😻 (I swear they had no involvement with the corpses in the background) Sequel!

After eight months I finally finished the flat color on her, and then for the hell of it I did the shading as well today. Faith Sweetwater, a Felid: a leopard type with natural wings, she got a costume overhaul because she'd never actually had a costume and I thought it'd be fun to lean into the angelic aspect of her name.

Someday I'll finish all the Felids and then maybe I'll make an art book out of them or something.
