Break The Mold Lore | Part 1
In this universe, Bill Cipher goes by William. He’s still a dream demon who accidentally destroyed his dimension but, instead of embracing chaos and basically turning into a sadistic psycho, he simply wandered the universe in a grief-stricken daze until he came across Ford. Ford, who was also an anomaly among his peers just like William had been. William felt a kinship with the human child, appearing in Ford’s dream that night. And, in true child-like fashion, Ford quickly befriended the dream demon who complimented his birth defect.
Eventually, a few weeks into their friendship, they make a deal. William will be Ford’s friend forever in return for entry into the physical plane and free access to Ford’s dreams. William makes the same deal with Stan once they get acquainted.
Basically, William ends up befriending the Stan twins, pretty much ensuring that they never have a falling out. When Stan accidentally breaks the machine, William encourages Stan to tell Ford. He does and they have a heated argument as Ford fixes it, and finally the truth comes out as Stan cracks. Ford stares at his sobbing brother who believes that Ford is abandoning him, that Ford is throwing him away because he’s not good enough, has never been good enough.
William helps mediate so they can each understand each other better, and so they don’t devolve into yelling at each other again. Feelings are soothed as Ford reveals that he had never wanted to give up on their dream, but it felt like Stan was forcing him to choose between sailing and college.
William asks Ford and Stan if they could just move closer to Ford’s college together so he could complete his studies and then they could go sailing together afterward, explore the ocean –which is teeming with anomalies for Ford to discover and study– and both the boys are stunned that such an easy solution was staring them in the face the whole time.
Cue them doing just that, moving out of their abusive household after graduation and finding an apartment near campus. William helps both twins settle into their new life, assisting Ford with his homework when needed and also helping Stan find a well paying job. William helps out by keeping the house clean for them, but they still have to handle the grocery shopping since William can’t be seen by the general public.
The Stan twins are very protective of William, making sure he’s comfortable and bringing him out to secluded spots so he’s not cooped up in the apartment all the time. They worry about William constantly, Ford driven to make the dream demon his first subject to study because he wants to know how Bill works just in case anything ever happens. Plus, Ford has been playing around with the idea of building William a body with a penpal of his named Fiddleford.
When Stan is brought into the loop, he handles the paperwork trail to make it seem as if William is human, also getting William a SSN and a valid ID, William tagging along to make sure the shady types that Stan is dealing with don’t try anything.
Ford graduates after several years of college with two PhD’s, the Stan twins putting off their dream of sailing to make sure Ford has all the skills needed to make their idea a reality with Fiddlford’s help.

You Are My Sunshine (FiddAuthor)
Based of the song of the same name by Jimme Davis Also I figured this would be my contribution to Week 4 of @fiddleford-appreciation-month - Friends/Family
The other night dear, as I lay sleeping I dreamed I held you in my arms But when I awoke, dear, I was mistaken So I hung my head and I cried. Fiddleford didn’t know who this strange man was, the hillbilly fast asleep in his small shack as a storm raged on outside. In this dream he felt young and spry, and a tall man with no face but a handsome voice and flattering words danced around with the southerner in a field of blue violets, often capturing Fiddleford close with sweet words. But this dream always ended the same way, the pleasant atmosphere turning grey as the man was suddenly pulled into a large hole in the ground, leaving the hillbilly a panting wreck when he would jolt out of bed. You are my sunshine, my only sunshine You make me happy when skies are gray You'll never know dear, how much I love you Please don't take my sunshine away “You have a lovely singing voice.” A twenty-one-year old Stanford hummed as he listened to his dormmate sing, Fiddleford’s face going bright red as he rubbed the back of his neck. They had just finished their last final exam, and decided to celebrate by just having a small date in their dorm, at some point Fiddleford having retrieved his banjo to serenade his partner with a goofy look on his face. “If ya say so.” Fiddleford mumbled, Ford chuckling as he placed a chaste kiss on his lips with a slight grin. “Could you honor me with another song?” I'll always love you and make you happy, If you will only say the same. But if you leave me and love another, You'll regret it all some day: “I’ll always love you.” Ford felt the words repeat over and over in his head as he watched his former partner go down the aisle to meet his new wife, a slightly strained smile on his face as he stood in his place of best man. Sure, he had been heartbroken to find that Fiddleford had found another, but he only wanted Fiddleford to be happy, and thus he agreed to be his best man even though he now felt a hole where his heart used to be. Perhaps it was time to go to that small town he had been researching about… You are my sunshine, my only sunshine You make me happy when skies are gray You'll never know dear, how much I love you Please don't take my sunshine away “Is there no one else he can ask?” Fiddleford turned to face his wife with a soft smile, motioning her to come close so he could press a kiss to her cheek. “Stanford ain’t one fer makin’ friends darlin’. Sides, it’s only a small proect and I should be home soon enough with you and little Tate, I promise.” His wife looked uncertain before she smiled softly and hugged him close. “Just stay safe, I don’t trust that friend of yours very much, not just because of your past…” You told me once, dear, you really loved me And no one else could come between. But now you've left me and love another; You have shattered all of my dreams: “Then maybe I don’t need you!” Fiddleford felt his heart lurch at the phrase spewed out by a man he had once called friend and ally, his face twisting into a snarl. “If you don’t believe, then I quit! Yer on yer own Ford, maybe that’s how it always shoulda been!” He screamed in return, leaving the cabin he had called home for over a year for the last time with his sanity and memory intact, tears of anger dripping down his cheeks as he slammed his car door shut. Conceited, self-important greedy idiot! Let him rot, maybe once he deals with the portal himself he’ll understand! Fiddleford drove off, casting only one sad glance backwards before driving off into the darkness, unaware of what was unfolding behind him. He and Bill were meant for each other. You are my sunshine, my only sunshine You make me happy when skies are gray You'll never know dear, how much I love you Please don't take my sunshine away Stanford stared up at the ceiling of what was once his den, his argument and deal with Stanley reverberating in his head over and over. Had he been too rash? He was home now, he was back in the place that had destroyed his life all those years ago, he should be happy yet his thoughts always returned to the man he had loved and cast out all those years ago. He wondered what had happened his old friend, and resolved to find that answer once he sorted out what to do with the rift he found while tearing the portal apart so it could never be used again. He missed Fiddleford, and hoped he could salvage their friendship once he apologized for not believing him about…Bill. In all my dreams, dear, you seem to leave me When I awake my poor heart pains. So when you come back and make me happy I'll forgive you dear, I'll take all the blame. ”Oh god no, please please wake up. Stanford’s voice was shaky and cracking, the man cradling a frail body close to his as the Fearmid that Bill had created shattered into pieces around them, the demon having been killed when Ford and Stan had attacked it with one of Ford’s old portal guns, the magic circle he had created weakening Bill to the point where he could easily be killed. Unknown to both Bill had pulled Fiddleford in front of him to try and stop them, Ford’s eyes going wide when the ray blasted through his old friend and partner, the man falling to the ground as Bill began to dissolve behind him. The sunny skies and the happy chirping birds were a stark contrast to Ford, the man desperately patching up a major wound in Fiddleford’s side while trying to perform CPR at the same time. “I will not lose you this time!” Fiddleford felt drops of some sort of liquid hitting his face when he started to come to, eyes weakly fluttering open to reveal the man from so many of his dreams kneeled above him, eyes wide as he worked on something, the pain telling Fiddleford it was his side. “Don’t leave me again…” “I won’t…Stanford.” Fiddleford breathed rather out of nowhere, memories returning as the older man above him smiled in what seemed relief and sheer joy. You are my sunshine, my only sunshine You make me happy when skies are gray You'll never know dear, how much I love you Please don't take my sunshine away Fiddleford smiled softly as he felt strong arms gently wrap around his middle, a familiar chin tucking itself between his shoulder. “Yer bein’ mighty affectionate there.” The southern male teased, hands plucking at his banjo as he felt a chuckle rumble in Stanford’s chest, prompting a grin from the smaller male. “I am merely making up for lost time my dearest, as I have no intention of letting you go again.” Fiddleford smiled softly as he began to play the opening notes of a song they both knew well. “I won’t either Ford…I won’t either.”

In a Hufflepuff’s nature
Summary: Fiddleford may not know Remus Lupin well but its just in his nature to want to be his friend.
Pairing: Fiddauthor but its not really explicit so you can ignore it
Warnings: This is part of the HP AU so you do have to know the basics about HP to enjoy this story. This was mainly for Remus’s bday yesterday but I couldn’t finish it last night because of a head ache.
Herbology was his favorite class and always got high marks (as Hufflepuffs naturally do) so he reasoned with Ford they had no reason to be in a hurry to study for the test coming up. The Ravenclaw was quick to grumble complaints as he pulled him quickly down to the quidditch ground, but he didn’t fight him or outright tell him what they were doing was wrong.
It was the late afternoon, not long before dinner would be upon them, the court yard was buzzing with students happy to finally be out of class for the day and the Gryffindors had claimed the quidditch field for practice tonight.
Stanly Pines, Ford’s twin brother, was the current captain of the team but he didn’t seem to take the position as seriously as one would think he should. Instead hovering near the bleachers on his broom, flirting insistently with his girlfriend Carla whose face was bright red and turned away from Stan’s puckering lips.
A quaffle zoomed past his head to Stan’s anger as it nearly hit his girl square in the face, he shot around to yell at Sirius who was scowling at him. Carla snagged his wand from his robes and gave him a stern look when she saw his hand had been moving towards it. She shook her head and patted his cheek sending him on his way. Fidds smiled hearing Ford muttered something about how easy it was for his twin to lose his temper, Fidds reached over grasping his hand to keep him too flustered to say anything louder about his newly acquired annoyance for Stan.
Fidds ignored them all, smiling brighter as he set his sight on the newly turned 13-year-old, face flushed, book quivering in his hands as he had his attention on his friend challenging Stanly Pines.
He placed his hand on his shoulder making Remus jump slightly just as James joined in on the argument above them.
“Pines, we are here to see if Peter here is worthy of joining our team, not for you to snog you girlfriend!”
“Hello Remus,” Fidds smiled brightly at him sitting next to the now shaking boy who looked at him pleadingly as Stan began to yell at an unremorseful Sirius.
“Hello, McGucket,” he said a smile already forming at his rather odd name, Ford took notice and stared at the boy intently waiting to see if he needed to act.
Fidds however paid it no mind that he found his name amusing, used to it by now. He didn’t know Remus very well truthfully, he had only met him during Christmas break. He had stayed behind at school at his parents’ suggestion knowing a few relatives were going to be there who weren’t as open minded about him being what he was as his parents were. Ever since he had gotten his letter, he wasn’t seen as a member of the family anymore but as something dangerous. Stan had once said that’s just how muggles were and maybe he would know. The Stan twins had to live in a muggle occupied area in the heart of London because of their father was a squib. It was something they kept to themselves, Fiddleford wouldn’t dare push for more details on Stan’s opinions on the matter.
The fresh wounds of feeling ostracized from his family had been making him on edge and antsy the day he first talked to Remus. He was alone in the library, missing Ford’s company, knee shaking feeling the eyes of only strangers on him. All his friends home for the holiday, his dorm mates leaving him in an empty room that felt baron and he missed Ford more as each second slipped by and he felt lost in a sea of unfamiliar faces.
But then he found a kindred soul.
Remus was all by himself, a table over, looking ill and his eyes longing for his friends just as Fidds was feeling. His fingers tapping against the table and restless eyes skipping over every paragraph just as Fidds himself had been doing. He took pity on the child then and there, going over to him and offering his friendship.
Now he was only trying to do the same for the boy months later still seeing the loneliness in his eyes. He was a very ill child, often missing days in the nurse’s office and it made Fidds pity him more.
For now Remus hadn’t completely warmed up to him seeing how they were in different levels and houses for that matter but the more Stan told him about the lonely little boy who often had a shadow cast over him by his more popular friends, the more he wanted to reach out.
Fidds was an only child and always wanted a younger sibling to care for so why not someone who needed love and support like Remus Lupin?
“Knowing Stanly, the try outs won’t be over for another few hours,” Fidds began taking the boys attention away from Sirius saying some very foul words to his captain who didn’t hold his tongue for him either.
“Why don’t you join me and Ford? We were planning on heading down to the kitchen to say hello to the house elves.”
Ford turned a sharp look his way, he had forgotten to mention his plan since Stanly was the one who helped him plan and make it happen. He smiled sheepishly at him, he was too naïve he chastised himself, of course Stanly wouldn’t relay his plan to Ford.
Remus took a hesitant look up at his friends and once another quaffle was chucked at the captain by James this time, he was nodding to the plan not wanting to be a part of the detention they were going to get if Mcgonagall were to stop by.
“It’s settled then!” he proclaimed happily taking Remus by the hand and a little too enthusiastically began dragging the child with him, Ford on their toes.
Right before they entered the kitchen, he covered the boys eyes his own smile becoming bigger at his confusion.
Upon entering, he took his hands away and yelled out ‘Surprise!’.
He saw tears begin falling down the child’s eyes at the large banner wishing him happy birthday and the large overly decorated cake with a nice Gryffindor theme that he had helped the house elves create last night.
He pulled the child into a large hug that was for once graciously returned and Ford was nice enough to join on wishing the child birthday wishes as well before leading him to get a piece of his cake.
It was just in his nature to want to reach out to the lonely and suffering, he wanted to help this boy in his ratty falling apart robes and sad eyes. It was just what Hufflepuffs do.
