I could totally see Azi studying up on plant care just to mess with Crowley:

“Are you sure that fiddleleaf fig should go there? They need at least six hours of sunlight you know.”

“I think after 50 years of owning plants I know how to take care of them, angel.”

“If you say so…”

Crowley would hesitate, then slide the pot closer to the window when Azi’s not looking.

After a moment:

“I couldn’t help but notice your monstera looking a bit brown round its edges, perhaps it could use more water?”

“No, it’s just being a little stubborn bastard, much like SOMEONE ELSE IN THIS BOOKSHOP.”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about Crowley, I’m just offering some advice. There’s this fascinating book on plant care I’ve been reading recently.”

“Well I’d appreciate it if you kept your ‘advice’ to yourself. Plants are MY THING, angel.”

Then aziraphale would break and start giggling, and Crowley would roll his eyes with an annoyed growl.

“You were just trying to get me worked up, weren’t you?”

“You’re so funny when you’re angry, I couldn’t help myself!”

Fiddleleaf Fig!

in good news, my second fiddleleaf which I thought had died in my house freeze in December has decided that it's not dead and is putting out new growth. In bad news, my second fiddleleaf which i thought had died--

right off the bat, I see a rattlesnake Calathea, a fiddleleaf fig, a ficus, a monstera adansonii or young monstera deliciosa and... i think a cast iron plant?

More interesting is what I don't see here - Low maintence houseplants such as the ZZ plant or (lol) a snake plant. Nothing that tends to trail like a pothos or philodendron

These are all plants with WILDLY different care requirements- two of these (the fiddle leaf and rattlesnake calathea) are INCREDIBLY high maintainence and picky, the calathea needs to be watered like. twice a day and MISTED and the fiddle leaf fig will start wilting the moment its not directly under a growlamp/in almost direct sunlight.

How is Crowley keeping them alive??? in his car??? in LONDON?? The humidity/temperature/lighting requirements ALONE. THIS DUDE IS HOMELESS.

Yeah, while I was saddened when both my fiddleleafs froze to death this winter, I was also like phew, don't have to deal with that drama anymore. And then they both lived ://

I can't just dump them now they have endured a near death experience with me... they picked the one time I was going to just ditch them to be like haha actually I have leaves now but just way down here hehe
