Wtt is great for the skaters bc there is literally zero pressure & everyone just skates their best and has fun and the more I think abt it the more I realize how gr8 it is

I really don't understand the uber high PCS. With Evgenia I understood, even tho her PCS were still overscored she gave face and the judges were rewarding her for her crazy consistency. With Alina, this was her first clean sp of the season so they aren't rewarding for crazy consistency? They cant be rewarding her eh ss, or eh presentation/interpretation so what ARE THEY rewarding her for??? Alina IS SO TALENTED AND AMAZING BUT STILL HAS THINGS TO IMPROVE.

Yes to all of this - Alina has great jumps and great spins, but like... that’s it. There’s no breath in her skating, she doesn’t have enough connection to the music, her step sequences are not all that great, she’s a bit robotic and forced, and just... How she is on par with Evgenia? Evgenia is superior in every way imho, and I am NOT a fan of Evgenia’s for the record.

Marin said she was taking time off but the competition is in three days and she’s hasn’t withdrew and I’m confused

the pressure on the japanese ladies for the spots on the olympic team is so huge i’m really worried that someone is going to hurt herself. hopefully marin’s pain is relatively minor -- she performed in the gala on sunday but kept her jumps to doubles -- and she’s just being super careful, but at the same time no on-ice practice leading into competition? who gave her these back to back assignments 🔪🔪

JP is prob trying to decide who is 'worthy of the team' partially from these, yeah

yeah. and there’s no way these girls don’t know that. these girls are an average age of sixteen. the “veteran” skater of the team is barely twenty. they’re all teenagers and they all have another four years and i just hope they take care of themselves above all else :(

and WHY are 3/4 of the top Japanese ladies at the same GP?

probably the same reason mirai/mariah and ashley/karen have the same matchups twice: forced drama or rivalry narratives 😒
