Summary:

 Cards on the table, It had not been “boredom” that had compelled Bill to initiate conversation. Ford looked (and Bill had known him for a hot minute) better than he was supposed to. The way he looked and sounded and smelled lately was, by all metrics, better. Nobody else seemed to notice. Bill could ignore it during the day, but nights were trickier. The cider didn't help. 

      And although he was loath to admit it, it wasn't the big mystery he was making it out to be. It wasn't the first time he'd been victimized by one of his dumb mammal body's various sisyphean egg rituals. He simply chose not to think about it. It wasn't (read: shouldn't be) his business. 

      All he needed to know was that he couldn't suppress the thought of Stanford pinning his eyelid open with two rough fingers, shining a hard beam of white light deep into his retina, moving it around to get the right angle on his optic nerve. He'd click his tongue and mumble under his breath, the way he always did when he studied a specimen. 

     Bill wondered if he would be able to tell he'd been drinking. Maybe his eyes were a little dilated. A little glassy. Not too much–he'd see plenty of iris–but enough.

i'm dying

i've already cried once today thinking about my homework, and i am Extremely Close to round 2 of crying breakdown

you want teachers to explain things in a way that makes sense? go fuck yourself

you want textbooks that explain things in a way that makes sense? you'll have better luck trying to read a rock. or smashing your skull in with the rock. either of those would be more productive

i've spent the last 6? 7? hours trying to wrap my head around drinking water treatment. i've gone over the chapter in my textbook, the recorded lecture, my notes from the first time i saw the lecture, my notes from the second time i saw the lecture, a youtube video with problem examples my teacher sent us, and my notes from the youtube video. none of it explains things in a way that makes sense

pretty sure my classmates all either used chegg or chatgpt to do their homework

i asked for an extension so i could have more time to try and wrap my head around this shit. nothing works

even if the thought of emailing a teacher and asking for help didn't fill me with more dread than final exam week, every time any of us have tried to ask for help the teacher for this class has just been confused at the concept of people not understanding this stuff right away

i've still got stats homework due tonight

genuinely i consider dropping out of this major at Least once a month. usually several times.

i love water systems and i love sewers and i want to do this. but the instruction quality? the vibes around the department? they suck. so bad
