A/N- Thank you @the-makingsofgreatness for requesting this, took me a while, but it’s here. Hope you enjoy.

I just remembered I hadn’t uploaded this... ffs end me

Finn had known he liked men and women for a awhile, but most of his life he kept it hidden. He never even tried anything with a man, until he and Isaiah became close. He drunkly kissed him and, to Finn’s surprise, Isaiah kissed him back. After that night, the two began fooling around and it didn’t take long for them to admit they loved each other and start dating.

Finn and Isaiah’s secret relationship had been going on for a year and no one had noticed. Until they got careless.

The two had been drinking in the Garrison and as they walked home, Isaiah pulled Finn into an empty alleyway. Before Finn could register what was happening, he was pinned against the soot-cover walls with Isaiah’s lips on his. He wasted no time in kissing him back. As Isaiah’s hands started to wondered, they heard footsteps approaching and shot away from each other. Not quick enough however. As they turned to see Tommy standing in the alleyway only a couple yards away from them.

“Finn, come on, family meeting.” Tommy’s voice, as usual, carried no emotion at all. He walked away and Finn send Isaiah a nervous smile before following after him.

As the meeting was coming to a close, all matters of business talked about, all that was left to talk about was family matters; Finn was sweating. He was terrified that Tommy knew he liked men and that he would, probably, tell everyone else. The fear of being hated, disowned, or even beaten by his own family ate him alive.

“The last topic to discuss is about Finn,” Tommy announced. Finn locked eyes with his older brother that he’d looked up to for so long, pleading with him not to tell them, without saying a word. Tommy paused, seeing how scared his little brother was.

“Well...?” Polly said impatiently, cocking her brow.

“Finn-“ Tommy continued. “-if you want to be with Isaiah, that’s fine, but be careful, alright? Be a lot more careful that you were today.” Finn’s eyes widened, not only shocked that Tommy was fine with it, but also shocked by the unfazed looks of his family.

“Wh-what? You’re not angry?” Finn stammered, perplexed. Everyone was quiet until John spoke up.

“Of-of course we are-aren’t angry, Finn,” He said between his laughter.

“What...?” Finn has hidden his attraction to men for so long thinking his family would be disgusted, he just couldn’t wrap his head around them being okay with it.

“Little brother,” Arthur began (the person Finn worried most about). “John here is the only one of our siblings that doesn’t fancy the same sex,” Arthur said before letting out a hearty laugh.

“Re-really?”

“Aye, John here’s quite picky. If they don’t have a vagina he won’t go near them, but the rest of us? Myself, Tommy and Ada? We don’t give a fuck.” Arthur chuckled. “So, are you like the rest of us, or are you picky like John? Only men? Or do you fancy both as well?”

“I-I fancy both but... um, if things go how I want them too, I’ll never be with a woman again. I only want to be with Isaiah.” A smile pulled at Finn’s face and he let it.

“Aww, Finn, that so sweet!” Ada squealed, Polly nodding in agreement.

“Fuckin’ ‘ell, Finny-boy’s whipped!” John laughed shortly before aunt Pol slapped the back of his head. “Ow...”

“So... if the meeting over... can I go see Isiah?” Finn asked, a sheepish smile on his lips.

“Alright, but invite him to a family dinner tomorrow, things we need to tell him if he’s gonna be with him our little brother,” Tommy spoke, looking Finn dead in the eye.

“Oh, come Tom, you’ve known Isiah forever, you know he won’t hurt me,”Finn argued, receiving a pointed look from Tommy that told him ‘to do as he’s told’. “Fine.”

“Good, now fuck off to your man,” Arthur grunted. Finn smiled at his family before bolting out the door. Leaving them to laugh at how ‘whipped’ he was.

a/n: well darling you know how i love a pairing but i also love a coming out, especially with these two. enjoy!

Isiah was looking for Finn. 

I mean it was normal for finn to be gone for a couple hours, but this time isiah actually needed him, and he was nowhere to be found. 

His house? no, Charlie’s yard? no. the garrisson? nope. Where the fuck was he?

Eventually, finally, Isiah found him by the cut, sitting on a haybale and looking out over the grey water.

“Finn! Where the fuck–” He stopped when he saw finn quickly wipe tears off his face. But it was too late, Isiah already saw.

“you alright mate?” He asked, sitting himself down on a bale next to Finn’s.

Finn sighed, “Doesn’t look like it does it.”

“Well oi,” He nudged his friend on the shoulder. “It cant be tha’ bad, run it by me!”

Finn clenched his jaw. “Yes it can.”

Isiah was growing more concerned, although he was no closer to understanding.

“–Theres something wrong with me.”

Isiah looked at finn, now showing the worry on his face.

“im–” Finn fidgeted nervously, his mouth was dry. “I-I dont know if it has a name...i just know its not right.”

Obviously whatever he was so upset about must be a very big deal. 

“If what has a name?”

Finn squeezed his eyes shut and blurted out, 

“I dont like girls! not in the way i should. and instead i think of blokes like that–”

“homosexual.” 

Finn opened his eyes and looked at isiah, confused,

“Wha?”

“Its called being a homosexual.” Isiah repeated.

“So, so its a thing? its not just me?” Finn asked in disbelief.

Isiah laughed, not in a patronizing way, just out of the irony of the situation. 

“No you are not the only one, practically half of birming’am is, including yours truly.”

Finn’s mouth fell open, “....Really?”

Isiah took a deep inhale from his cigarette and blew out a plume of smoke.

“well, I take a liking to both, but yes all the same.”

Finn’s head swam with new information. They sat in silence for a while, giving Finn a bit of time to process. Isiah broke the silence.

“When did you know?” he asked, staring off over the water.

Finn went red up to his ears, not that Isiah could see, “Um, well i didn’t really have to think about liking girls until they bought me one...and i shut down. Even if i was interested though, i dont think i would have gone through with it.” 

He took a pause and looked over at isiah again, his face was lit with the reflected light. He breathed in and continued.

“and well, i didnt know i felt that way about blokes until,,,” He trailed off, causing Isiah to look over, curious for an answer.

Finn swallowed hard, 

“Until i met you.”

Isiah masked his shock with a small smirk. Finn wasn’t too thrown off by this as it was quite typical of his character. Isiah took another drag of his cigarette.

“I feel the same... now where does that leave us?”

Finn suppressed a cheshire-cat grin by biting his lip, although it didnt really work.

“Well...” He started. “You can hold my hand if you want...”

Isiah smiled and tentatively laid his hand over Finn’s. It felt so natural, so warm. Finn’s grin came unmasked and his stomach fluttered. It was odd, they had known each other for so long, and this felt so new, and yet so normal.

Isiah let his hand intertwine with finn’s now, so it was a proper hand hold.   

They knew in the back of their minds that it would be challenging from here, but the joy they felt overcame the fear. And knowing that they were in this together (also heads of a powerful gang) made them fear nothing.

summary: finn is jealous that isiah and michael are friends, but for a reason

note about the ages: cannonically i think isiah and michael are the same age but i made him younger so it wouldnt be creepy, so michael was born in 1904 (18) isiah 1906 (16)  finn 1908 (14)

Finn sat in misery between his brothers.

Sitting between two drunk brothers who refuse to speak openly in front of you is bad enough. But in addition, everyone’s new best friend michael was out with isiah.

No one payed him any attention anyway, but now there was a new and better option to look at. So Finn felt even more snubbed than usual. 

But michael and isiah got to him deeper than the others. Even as much as finn pretended it was just a wish to be involved, he knew it was more than that.

But he also knew isiah must prefer michael. Not some family runt.

“Oi finn cheer up!” John slapped the boy on the back and handed him his beer.

“john not the booze again, ‘ez only a kid.” Arthur grunted.

Finn rolled his eyes and passed the nearly empty glass back to john.

The door to the private room opened and in walked a very ruffed up looking Michael and isiah. Finn felt his small breath catch as he saw the blood on isiahs hands and a cut on his face.

Upon arthurs questioning, they discovered the cause of the situation was some bastards wouldnt let isiah drink with michael.

A hot pool of anger grew inside of finn. 

“oi, which pub?” Arthur demanded.

“The marquis of lorne”

“Righ’ then.” Arthur and john got to their feet, finn followed suit only to be pushed back down.

He wanted to do something just this once, but it was in vain, theyd never let him.

Through his muddled thoughts Finn heard isiah sigh ‘shame, it was a good pub.’ So at least the pub would get what it deserved, finn thought.

A short while later, finn kicked the pebbles of the street as he walked home, not that he had to go home, no one was there.

Up ahead Michael and isiah were chatting as they walked. Finn stared longingly at the pair. 

“Fuck this.” he muttered.

He kicked a large stone and ran down the street home. This both used some of the anger he felt and took the pair away from his immediate sightline.

Michael watched in confusion as his cousin darted past them and into his house. Isiah had a similar expression of bewilderment.

“Wha...?” Michael started.

Isiah shook his head,

“No idea. Ill check on him later.”

Isiah brought Michael to his door and thanked him for helping fight at the pub. Then he doubled back to the shelby residence. 

The door was open as usual, and isiah let himself inside.

“Finn?” He called.

“He’s upstairs isiah.” A woman’s voice (probably esme) yelled back.

So he took the stairs up to the second floor and made his way down a fightfully dark hallway to finns room. There was light coming through the nearly closed door. He entered to find finn sitting on his bed, scowling.

“Oi wha’s the matter with you then?”

Finn turned his head away,

“Nuthin’s the matter, no’ that you’d care.”

Isiah got closer and sat down heavily next to finn on the bed, causing him to scoot away out of spite.

“Wait, are you upset ‘cause of me an’ michael?”

Finn turned his head back and glared into isiahs eyes.

“well everyone seems to care about ‘im more than me. Just thought you were different.”

Isiah took his hat off.

“Finn, tha’s not true and you know it. Me and michael are jus’ mates. He’s new here and needs someone to hang with. 

“Im just sick of being left behind! and by you of all people!” he was yelling now, and he could feel a prickle in his eyes as angry tears formed.

Isiah looked confused,

“Finn we’re pals, ill always be your mate.”

Finn wrung his hands, his emotions were reaching a breaking point.

“No its just-“ He stopped yelling. 

In an act of boyish courage he leaned down to the seated isiah and kissed him. 

Almost immediately finn realized the grave mistake he made.

He quickly pulled himself back and cowered into the corner.

“Oh god im sorry , oh god please....that didnt happen....”

He shook, frightened tears starting to dribble from his eyes, and went to run out the door when isiah stood and grabbed his arm. One swift tug brought Finn close to him and he, now the taller, kissed finn back.

Finn felt new tears mix with his own and butterflies, thousands of them, erupted in his entire body. It felt like warm wind was stirring through his body. It was euphoria, love, happiness; all overriding the fear he felt just moments before.

When their lips parted, Finn couldnt find the words to speak. Everything came out all jumbled.

“I... How long.... i never thought-”

His ramblings were silenced by a shhh from isiah as he pulled him into an embrace.

“Wha’ do we do now?” Finn whispered

He now lay beside isiah with his head on isiah’s chest.

“I dont know. i really dont know.”

Finn sighed,

“We could move ta london, i know ada is ok with people like us.”

Isiah nodded.

“Th’ would be nice, but i think we can make it here, im a blinder and you’re a shelby afterall.”

Finn looked up to him and smirked,

“quite the duo huh.”

Ada knew, tommy knew, john and esme knew, polly,... no word yet on arthur. his skull’s too thick. 

But by far their gretest champion was Michael.

He became the unofficial defender of isiah and finn, both because of their youger age, and also because he knew people wouldnt mess with all three of them.

No one dared speak or gossip about them alone, but when michael was there. No one even looked in their direction.

and all was as well as it could be
