Kazunari: Eh, who’s there? Come in, come in.

Izumi: Sorry for interrupting. Is Muku-kun here?

Muku: Yes! What’s the matter?

Izumi: Remember that project we’re doing where we’re going to stream a spin-off stories of everyone’s side characters?

Kazunari: All of us are doing one each, right?

Izumi: Yeah. It’s about the character that Muku-kun is going to play… We finished tallying up the request survey we got back from the all your fans.

Kazunari: You mean Mukkun’s side character has been decided!?

Muku: Oh! Which character is it…?

Izumi: For Muku… it’s Nora from “The Great Sardine Search”!

Kazunari: Ooh! Nora!

Muku: Wow, I get to play Nora again! He’s so cool!

Kazunari: You said Nora was cool the first time you read the script. I’m happy for you!

Muku: Thanks! Ehehe. I’m really happy.

Izumi: Discuss the script with Tsuzuru-kun, alright?

Muku: For sure! I hope I can show off how cool Nora is.

Kazunari: If it’s you, then you totally will!

Muku: Thanks. I’ll try my best! Nora’s spin-off short story, huh… …I know! Kazu-kun, if you happen to have some time…

Kazunari: So your request was to go on an adventure with me an Yukki, huh… it’s lit AF! I can’t wait~!

Yuki: I also heard Nora is the character Muku’s going to play, so I started revamping the costume yesterday. It’s been a while since you’ve worn a costume with cat ears, so I have to check every little detail.

Muku: Thanks so much, you two…! I want to go an adventure with Shiro and Kuro today.

Yuki: So, what are we going to do for this “adventure”?

Muku: Nora is a cat who roams freely, so I’d like to go where I want without deciding on a particular location. In the past, after I was chosen to play Nora, I went out by myself in order to prepare for my role… But I think it’s more fun being together with everyone. And besides, by doing what Nora would do like this, I might come up with what I’d like to do for the spin-off.

Kazunari: Gotcha~. I’ll stick with you until the very end, just say the word!

Yuki: Yeah, it’s good you’re taking your time to think about it in your own way. I’ll go with you too.

Muku: Great! Thank you.

Kazunari: Alright fellas, where should we head first?

Muku: Hmm, let me think…

Cat: …

Muku: Huh? A cat…?

Yuki: It feels like it’s looking at us.

SP Yamakaze Super Oniou Event

A new and revamped Super Oniou event featuring a familiar face for CN and TW/JP players. The event coincides with release of SP Yamakaze and lasts for 1 week.  

This Super Oniou has been changed in quite a few ways by introducing elements more common in recent 2020 events. Hard to say if these changes are for the better.

Quick Intro

For people unfamiliar with Super Oniou / Uber type events, here is a quick intro. You can also check out the Super Onio Invasion page here on the wiki too.

Your overall goal is to find & fight 50 bosses a day, try to get the rewards for finding & fighting 100 bosses, help out/leech off friends and buy everything you consider important in the exchange shop (eg, random SSR/SP, shikigami skins, icon frames, black daruma, sushi, boss packs, etc). It is recommended to save up AP and plenty of jade to make the most of this event.

Bosses used to spawn after clearing explore, mitama or awakening/evo dungeons. Best location, however, was awakening/evo due to how easy it is to clear in a short amount of time. Any stage would do as long as you can one-shot it. Eg; attackers like SP Ubume, Tamamo, SP Ibaraki or Kuro Mujou with 126~ spd can easily one-shot stages 1-6 without the need of a puller to let them move first.

Before fighting a boss - can either use 10 fatigue or use 30 fatigue for a 2.5x damage boost. The 2.5x damage boost should only be used for soloing 5-6* bosses. If possible try to solo 6* bosses for max amount of points, if you can’t then open it up to friends but do try to secure MPV or the last hit. Absolutely don’t forget to kill the minions, not just the boss. Not killing the boss + all 5 minions before times runs out = failing and receiving 0 points.

General Info

Super Oniou bosses are random shikigami (daruma, R, SR, SSR, SP) of varying grades that represent how strong they are.

6* bosses are immune to control effects.

Only 50 bosses can be found every day.

10 fatigue is used to challenge Super Oniou bosses and 30 fatigue can be used to challenge them with a 2.5x damage boost.

There is no limit to how many times you can assist with a friend's bosses, but assisting 50 or more times will cause the fatigue cost to be tripled.

When your fatigue reaches 100, you cannot fight any Super Oniou bosses.

58 jade can be used to reduce your fatigue by 100.

Defeat bosses (getting the final hit) reduces fatigue by a set amount depending on the grade.

Changed Features

Super Oniou bosses have even higher HP than previous events.

Super Oniou bosses no longer spawn from evo, souls or explore.

Instead feathers are used to spawn bosses with the Discover button.

Instead of anima and 3 daily buffed shiki, you must pick 3 of a selection ~20 shiki everyday.

Buffed shiki only have a 50% boost to damage dealt and damage reduction for Super Oniou bosses.

Point leaching has been limited to your top 20 friends.

Instead of Vanquish there is Practice to Become King.

In Practice to Become King there are 4 Boss Challenges and 3 various types of bosses.

SP Yamakaze replaces your onmyouji in battle.

There are buff effects for him and the daily buffed shiki.

Buffs are unlocked by how many bosses you have found and fought, buffs are equipped with wolf fang necklaces

A total of 12 wolf fang necklaces can be obtained, so you cannot equip every buff effect.

Can re-equip buff effects at any time and at no cost.

Similiar to the Hyakki Yakou event, there'll be a chibi SP Yamakaze that'll auto farm event currency by fighting wolves.

For every set amount of bosses you defeat, new rewards and extra event currency will be unlocked.

Chibi SP Yamakaze will farm event currency even when you’re offline, however he will stop after couple of hours if you haven't claimed any rewards.

SP Yamakaze

In battle your onmyouji is replaced by SP Yamakaze. Unfortunately, he is not super OP like Suzuka in Journey Home or the onmyouji in Bound by Love. He's a strong single target attacker, however, unless you can sustain both him + the rest of your team or you start unlocking more buff effects he can feel a bit lacking.

Buff Effects

Next to the button for the event shop on the main event page is the button for the buffs page and SP Yama's stats.

Buffs are unlocked by defeating 0/10/20/40/60/80/100 bosses and equipped with wolf fang necklaces. Most of the buffs are stat boosts for SP Yama or extra 20% boosts for certain daily shiki. Only 1 of the first row buffs may be equipped. For buffs that share one stone, the bottom one can only be equipped if the top one is already equipped. Eg; on the 2nd stone in the 3rd column is a RES boost and a HIT boost, even if you don't want the HIT you'll need to equip it to get the RES.

Recommendations: For the buff effects that are available straight away, the 1st and 3rd column ones are probably the best. The 3rd one is good for extra onibi and an ATK buff, however, both beginners and experienced players may prefer the 1st one for an extra AOE after SP Yama attacks every 2 turns.

Super Oniou / Uber

This part of the event remains mostly the same. The 2-3 biggest changes are boss spawns/discover button and point leaching.

Bosses no longer spawn from evo and souls, instead feathers that are obtained by farming are used to spawn bosses with the discover button. Costs 3 feathers to use the discover button and there's no time limit between uses of it. A max of 150 feathers can be farmed each day. Everyday at 6:00 and 18:00, 10 feathers can be collected from the main event page. The max number of bosses you can spawn is still 50 (or 56 if you remember to get the extra feathers at 6:00 and 18:00).  

Short Summary: Don't need to farm evo for bosses any more. You can do your regular soul farming until you get max feathers then fight as many bosses as you want when you want before reset. For lazy people who only do evo guild quests like myself, you wont get evo materials from farming for bosses any more, but instead you'll still get them from the chibi SP Yamakaze's battle rewards.

Point leaching has been given a big change. Instead of being able to collect points from everyone on your friend list at any time, you are now limited to your top 20 friends of the previous day and points are all collected in one batch in the middle of the day from the main event page (there'll be a pop-up for it). Depending on how OP your friends are, you can get some random 6* souls as an extra reward.

Short Summary: If you're planning on clearing out your entire friend list for OP players, don't.

These are the last rewards for "Find & Fight 100 Bosses".

Practice To Become a King

Practice: Boss Challenges

During the first 4 days of the event, these boss challenges will be gradually unlocked. They can be challenged from 8:00 to 23:59 everyday, costs 3 AP to do and the battles have a 3 minute time limit. Each boss has different mechanics and each has 4 stages of varying difficulties.

Mechanics:

1st Challenge: Enemies have increased crit.

2nd Challenge: Every time the move bar is moved outside of an ally's own turn, a small amount of damage will be dealt to them.

3rd Challenge: There is a damage cap per hit.

4th Challenge: All ally buff effects will fail to work.

Additional Mechanic for all 4 Challenges: Every time Boss SP Yama deals damage, he'll always do an AOE blizzard attack that can inflict freeze too.

Last clear rewards all include a stone which "weaken" the hard mode for the Become a King bosses. So if you are a beginner or aren't very strong, do not stress yourself out about getting them / defeating the 4th stages.

Become a King: Various Boss Types

On day 5 a new boss becomes unlocked. It can be challenged from 8:00 to 23:59 everyday, costs 6 AP to do, has easy and hard modes and the battles have a 3 minute time limit. On hard mode the boss shares the same mechanics as the 4 boss challenges, clearing all 4 difficulties of them removes those mechanics (except the additional one).

Boss Types:

Day 5: Netherworld gate type, boss Yamakaze cannot receive damage.

Day 6: Starts out as boss defense, fight boss Yamakaze until his HP goes below 70% then he switches to 4 SP Yamakaze.

Day 7: Standard boss defense, boss Yamakaze starts at 70% HP.

Exchange Shop

For a full list of items in the shop, please refer to the wiki version of this guide.

Majority of the exchange shop items have damage requirements to be unlocked. Eg; SSR/SP and icon frames require 2 mil damage.

Buffed Shiki

Here is a list of recommended daily buffed shiki. Only a max of 3 per rarity will be recommended.

You are only able to pick 3 shiki out daily selection, so hopefully these recommendations can be of some help. Ultimately, you should pick which 3 shiki you intend in using on whichever days. Those 3 will have their 50% ATK & DEF boost increased to 100%. After picking, you cannot change your decision.

Recommended Teams

Regardless of what type of team you intend on using for whatever part of the event, if you don't have Senhime + Enmusubi you'll need to make a choice. Until you unlock the last 2 rows of buff effects, you can set SP Yama to only use normal attacks or equip 1-2 shiki with Fortune Cat. Not doing so may result in onibi issues. Once unlock the reduced onibi cost and crit/crit DMG buffs, you can start using SP Yama as your sole DPS for certain teams (ones with Youkinshi and no clear DPS).

When using Ushi, can use Shadow, Watcher or Kyoukotsu on her depending on the rest of your team.

When using Senhime, use whatever souls fits your needs. Don't need to use the same ones recommended in the below sections. Kyoukotsu, Fortune Cat and Nuribotoke are all options for her.

Feel free to look through the resource section for additional teams. Recommend looking through the past super oniou resources and guides if don't have shiki like Senhime or even Enmusubi.

Super Oniou

Only the general teams are listed above. For teams recommended for certain annoying bosses, please refer to the wiki version of this guide. There is no need to prepare teams for the annoying bosses, because there is no guarantee that you will encounter them unless you’re unlucky or have extremely active friends/guildmates.

The alternative to Senhime in a lot of teams is Enmusubi + Oitsuki. If you don't Senhime or Enmusubi, then you'll need to use teams like the very first 2 listed. The 1st team relies heavily on Sasori and her splash damage, it's up to whether you want to use a shiki to help proc the splash damage or a regular AOE DPS. While the 2nd team relies on SP Yama to be your sole DPS, however, unless you have unlocked the crit/crit dmg buffs it should only be used when all the minions are KO'd.

If you happen to find a 5-6* boss and whatever shiki you're using in this event are still 5* or your soul sets are still 5* - give up fighting this them on your own. It's not a fun time when you don't have the recommended shiki and/or are too weak to tank their attacks. Try to get your friends and guildmates to help clear them.

There are also 2 additional bosses you should be wary of - the 4* Mannendake and Ungaikyou bosses.

Lastly, before challenging an annoying boss if you find one/are invited to one, always read the boss mechanics first. There are some you need use very specific types of shiki. Eg; can’t use female shiki a DPS for Kidoumaru, need multi-hit for Tamamo, need some form of shield for Susabi.

Practice: Boss Challenges

Need +120 SPD for Senhime, Takiyasha, Kiyohime and Kamikui.

For the 1st and 3rd boss challenges, if you don't have Takiyasha, any other AOE shiki could work. Should use seductress + songstress instead of dawn fairy as well.

To Become A King: Various Boss Types

For the day 5 netherworld gate type boss, if you remember what shiki/teams you used for the netherworld type bosses in Kinnara's event you can probably use them again here. If you have Senhime, Suzuka or SP Tama are the optimal choices.

Same advice for the day 7 boss defense, if you have happen to have a Sanbi team that you used in a previous super oniou event then use it. Use Sanbi and make me proud. Not 100% sure if I would actually use Nekomata, could probably use SP Kiyo instead. Could also use the same Yuki Douji + Sanbi team recommended in my previous guide.

For the day 6 semi boss defense, if you don't have Kinnara then any AOE multi-hit shiki, like Takiyasha or Suzuka, will do just fine instead.

Onmyoji Movie

HI so I watched the Onmyoji Movie based off of the game last night and . . . . that sure was something!

In all honesty despite the weird path they decided to take, I actually enjoyed the movie. The music and detail in the scenery was amazing, I LOVED the costuming for a lot of the background characters esp in the Demon Realm, and a lot of the easter eggs that were hidden were nice. 

BUT. but. As someone heavily invested in the lore of the game (especially concerning Ibaraki) how they decided to deal with the movie was like. really confusing. It genuinely felt as if NE gave the directors a cast of characters and let them do what they wanted from there w/o any prior knowledge of the game.

(spoilers down below)

Before I really pry into that though, I’ll kinda note some of the characters.

Seimei/Qingming was actually my favorite. I think this is sort of an unpopular opinion right now, but his characterization was so nice even if it sorta leans into the basic drama hero type personality. In the game Seimei is supposed to be you/the player, and not everyone is going to have the same interpretation of him-- and that’s what the movie felt like, a different interpretation. I will say I didn’t really like them making him related to their version of Orochi. I believe the snakes name was Xiangliu? I can’t remember, but I didn’t see the reason in that. 

If anything, keeping him a fox and having a version of Tamamo no Mae popping up to offer advice to help with the situation would’ve been nicer, and that’d keep more of Seimei’s backstory kept in tact-- because asides from him becoming an Onmyoji apprentice at a young age we literally do not know shit about him. And legit I wouldn’t necessarily mind bc it’s a movie, you’re not going to get everyone’s backstory within 2 hrs, but we can’t really get attached to him.

Yao Bikuni/Baini was. Hm. I like her as a character in the movie, but I don’t like where she’s placed as a character in the movie. She’s a Seer? in the game and tbh it should’ve stayed that way, like I honestly can’t see her willingly working for one clan. “But how would she--” In game she is also influenced by Seimei pretty heavily, as in the in game chapters she believed he would be able to kill her. Up until she got manipulated by Orochi, she stuck to his side. With the Stone plot in the movie, if it put him in danger she would be there in order to try and help him, OR, try and pull him to join Orochi if they went that route. And they KINDA tried to hint at it when Seimei “died” with Orochi using her image, but like. come on man. Let Yao be evil for a little bit.

That being said I didn’t like the Master & Shikigami bit with those two, or the implied romance they tried to pull with them. Canonically Seimei legit brushes her off and when shes like “ohhh you’ll kill me right” hes like “lol sure” and thats IT. Literally any form of romance that’s tried at Seimei he brushes it off. he’s not into it he’s an amnesiac.

The “Oh if you become my shikigami you won’t become evil” thing was :/ to me as well because again, canonically, even though Seimei is being taunted he can contain the Kitsune part pretty well even when he wasn’t aware he was kitsune. Like I think the part as a kid was a good bit to add since it’s when he’s first being exposed to Onmyoji type stuff, but like. idk idk I couldn’t vibe with that power dynamic while they were trying to hint romance.

Continuing on with Hiromasa/Yuan Boya and Kagura/Shenle, again considering this is a movie, I’m somewhat content with their characters.

I really liked how energetic this Kagura was, and given they weren’t able to do her actual backstory, I liked the one she was given. Her introduction in the movie was really great too-- and compared to Hiromasa I felt they gave her a little more attention? Which like fine, but not so good for Hiro.

They didn’t even. Discuss his archery skills at any point which was disappointing. The most plot relevance he (and honestly Kagura too) had was finding Seimei while trying to arrest him but that’s it. And yes they showed some of his skill while he was fighting Kamaitachi, but that’s the extent of it. AGAIN i’ll consider the fact this was a movie and they didn’t have enough time to fit EVERYTHING in, but since they gave Yao and Seimei so much attention you would think they’d be able to spare some for the other two protagonists in the game. 

Before I leave those two tho I’m still trying to figure out what the fuck happened in the end. Like did hiromasa get promoted in some form? was he given credit for what happened between the demon realm? Why did he separate from Kagura since they got close during the movie? I guess like bc work duties but still. I have no idea tho like i was sitting there not processing a single thing. Regardless I did like Hiro and Kags acting like siblings despite in this canon them not being related (at least it’s never clarified).

Ok so before I dive into the whole mess that is the Cimu/”Ibaraki” character, stuff on side characters.

While I didn’t like the outfits for Sakura(? Momo? Both of them?) or Chocho, I liked the roles that they held as sort of trainers for the rest of Seimeis shikigami. In fact I liked the whole courtyard ordeal in general. I have my own worldbuilding thing that has a similar theme so seeing it being used canonically was pretty nice. I do wish we could’ve seen more SSRs or even SRs though. Like, why couldn’t Aoandon be hanging out in the courtyard to give gossip to Hiro & Kagura? Yamakaze or Shishio hanging out in the forest, or like. bruh even Jikikaeru as the boss in the Showdown considering he runs that in game. 

I did like the fish man! I really did, but literally everything about him could’ve been Jikikaeru, I don’t think it’s that hard to make a frog man. 

Also as mentioned previously it would’ve been nice to see Tamamo make an appearance considering he makes random ones every now and then. The Mujou Brothers could’ve helped the shikigami when they were escaping Seimeis courtyard, Shiranui could’ve been an entertainer while they were traveling through the demon realm, HAKU??? couldve been one of Seimeis shiki?? literally anyone. They have all these misc characters in the background but barely any of them resemble in game characters.

GOD EVEN KOSODENOTE COULDVE BEEN THERE . . . . at the scene where Kagura was messing with jewelry and clothing . . . Koso couldve been the seller. Aobozu could’ve worked at the shrine . . . . I just. Man.

ANYWAYS . . . pulling from that and going into whatever the hell Cimu is. god.

So according to casting, Cimu is supposed to be Ibaraki. But the thing is. There’s only like. 3-4 Elements about Ibaraki that goes into him. Everything else is Shuten which i honestly find pretty funny?? Take away the homophobic jokes and combine the gay coded character into his love interest. Which I mean that’s better than making them brothers but at what cost.

anyways. Cimu previously being an onmyoji but turning evil -> shuten previously being a monk and turning evil. The design of the hand that Cimu uses as transportation -> SP Shutens design where he sits on two hands. Red hair -> shuten. The horns, eye color (minus scleras), arm getting chopped off, and his ambition to grow stronger are really the only parts of Ibaraki that’s in the character-- and even then you could say Shuten has a similar ambition of growing stronger. It’s just so scuffed. 

ALSO IT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE. literally it doesn’t make sense when you look at the characters.

Why couldn’t they just stick with Kuro Seimei considering the fact that this Ibaraki works with Ootengus and Yuki Onna/The Snow Queen? They could’ve given Seimei a twin brother to work off of this. But like if they really wanted to keep Ibaraki and Shuten, they could’ve made it that Shuten was being manipulated by Orochi and Ibaraki was serving him, because there’s a LOT of shit you could do just with Shuten by himself. Legit no reason to combine the two since they’re BOTH heavily marketed characters. 

Legit like, Shuten being controlled, given Ibaraki’s loyalty to Shuten he would most likely follow him no matter what, and even like. Have a form of Momiji to kind of help out-- probably at a heavy expense of Shuten doing something for her, but still. like i LOVED the snow queen, I loved this interpretation of yuki so I wouldn’t want to get rid of her, but they shouldve went with Seimei 2 instead of “ibaraki”. It’s just so much and it doesn’t make sense. 

Now orochi himself and how that was handled was like. Okay I guess. If anyone was being talked to through their head at the time it should’ve been Yao Bikuni considering she allies with him in canon at one point. but like whatever. I did think the end was neat where Seimei forced him into becoming his shikigami, like I liked that whole process. Otherwise all antagonists were pretty underwhelming.

I also was not fond of the ending where like Seimei just turns away at the broken bridge. Like does this mean the Demon realm is completely cut off now? just fix the bridge. Also does Seimei just fuck off?? I know theres a scene where he’s standing on the roof but. i dont know. 

Regardless the movie was great, I had fun watching it. When ibaraki came in I accidentally paused the movie a couple of times while spamming screenshots. Even tho hes like kinda ugly but that’s ok. There WERE some angles where he was hot as hell but otherwise they did his actor so dirty. The horns were just. God I won’t delve into that bc this post is long as hell BUT. BUT. THE MOVIE WAS GOOD. just not if ure into the lore for the game LMAO.

(One day, Nora comes back to town unexpectedly and tells Shiro and Kuro about his travels.)

Nora: “I heard that there’s a great treasure somewhere in this world that will weaken any cat who takes one bite of it,”

“And it’s called… ‘niboshi’.”

Shiro: “‘Nyiboshi’....”

Kuro: “It’s ‘niboshi’.”

Shiro: “‘Nyiboshi’.”

Kuro: “Shiro, try saying ‘na ni nu ne no’.”

Shiro: “Nya nyi nyu nye nyo.”

Nora: “He’s still bad with his N sounds.”

Kuro: “Never nab a nanny’s noodles” [1]

Shiro: “Nyever nyab a nyanny’s…”

Kuro: “Then how about this?! Nine nice nyaight nymphs…. Wait.” [2]

Nora: “Kuro can’t say it either!”

Izumi: (Yuki-kun’s and Kazunari-kun’s dialogue has a better tempo this time around.)

(Muku-kun’s acting has improved since he’s also played a lead role in a performance. Nora’s gotten manlier compared to the first time he played him.)

Mike: “There’s no way we can go outside though.”

Chief: “All you guys ever do is slack off, so I don’t have any particular problems with you guys going.”

Chief: “So your job is to play with the broom like it’s a toy and take siestas on top of the laundry?”

Izumi: (Kumon-kun wasn’t here when we originally performed the play, so we had him play the senior cat.)

(It’s not the type of role he usually plays nor does he have a lot of scenes, but it’s good to have a presence.)

Mike: “Fur real, Tama?”

Tama: “Chief said it was okay, so you should come with us too!”

Chief: “Listen up, Mike and Tama. Be sure to listen to them properly and don’t slack off!”

Kuro: “Well, we should go home soon.”

Shiro: “But I wanna eat more ‘niboshi’!”

Tama: “I wish there was niboshi that you could eat and it’d never run out!”

Mike: “There’s no way that exists.”

Nora: “No, it’s possible that the other valleys have it.”

Shiro: “‘Niboshi’... Infinite ‘niboshi’...”

Kuro: “It’s like you’re muttering an incantation...”

Shiro: “Alright, I’m gonna go look for the infinite ‘niboshi’!”

In an attempt to try not to sound too much like the localization as well as to make a certain portion flow better, I decided to keep “niboshi” instead of translating it as “sardine”. Niboshi actually refers to dried sardines. My apologies if this translation sounds awkward to read as a result.

It’s also worth noting that the World of Cats was originally referred to as にゃんげん世界 (Nyangen Sekai), with にゃんげん being a pun on “nya” and “人間/ningen”, the word for human. I just went with “World of Cats” since there’s no way to tackle the pun in English and “Cat People World” sounds weird in my opinion (lol).

This part was very long since it’s the entire play and I was also pretty self-conscious about the TL so translating took longer than it should have, and I must apologize for that. Fortunately, the next part isn’t quite as long.

so first thing u shld do while ur at a low level is get a mentor.. when i started playing i just fucked around and didnt get a mentor until i was well into lvl 40.. a mentorship is where low lvl (15 to 45 i tihnk..) players can apply for an apprenticeship and level up fast while also getting rewards such as grade darumas and a random ssr once u finish ur apprenticeship.. u can find the mentor application icon in the right side of ur courtyard.. it shld look like this!

while under a mentor u are also lvling up ur friendship which, once it reaches a certain level, it unlocks the co-op feature that u can find by clicking the scroll at the bottom right hand side of ur screen > friends > co-op tab at the bottom right side of the pop up screen... there u can access ur friends powerful shikigami that u can use a limited amount of times daily to beat hard chapters/evo/soul zones, etc etc... if ur looking for a mentor i recently finished an apprenticeship w someone so im free to help out if ur interested ^__^ (my user is @.sneer [all lowercase] if u didnt already know hehe)

join a guild if you havent already! i tihnk it prompts you to join a guild when u first start playing i dont rmbr but a couple things to rmbr.. one. if ur guild has ‘15gq’ ‘100gq’ in its notice, gq means guild quest and u like.. HAVE to do those or else theyll kick u from the guild.. u can find the guild quests by going to ur guild, clikcing the shrine tab on the bottom right, and where it says GROUP QUESTS thats it! usually theyre basic things like submit grade four souls or evo materials but u shld definitely stack up on evo materials and souls so u dont run out.. so if ur guild says 100+gqs.... i wld suggest leaving that guild for a lighter gq guild.. 100+gq guilds are like.. big bad guilds who wanna rank in the top ten soo save urself the trouble.... TWO. ur realm! ur realm comes w ur guild so if ur kicked u cant access ur realm :( i think u already know what ur realm is and what it does so i will just say .. fuse ur low level realm cards.. SAVE UR DRUMS REALM CARDS.. if its a 1*, fuse it but if its 3*+... save that bad boy..

speaking of jade... SAVE IT.. jade and mystery talismans r like GOLD.. theyre rlly easy to get in the beginning of the game but they start getting super scarce when ur lvling up and r completing achievements.. usually when u get ten mystery amulets or 1k jade ur gonna think “oh what if i get an ssr out of this summon ooh” YOU WILL NOT.. this game HATES ur ass it hates u so much it hates ME it hates EVERYONE except lvl 60s who get new ssrs and shit on their first summon... ennieway.. random chance up events r stupid scams but chance up events featuring new shikigami are not... like the one thats going on right now for sp aoandon.. these r good events... random chance up events coming up out of no where is just netease being like ‘buy more jade we want ur money ugly idiot... stupid lmao’.. so yeah hoard ur amulets and jade AH ALSO IN THE MALL go to the mall and go to GENERAL.. youll see a package that says smth like 5 daily jade or smth that costs 666 jade.. BUY THAT itll give u 5 jade daily everyday.. it also stacks up so if ur not online for a couple days u wil be swimming in it baby...

oh god what else... click ur scroll on the bottom right and at the end next to collection youll see a tab that says TEAM.. thats a very useful helpful tab bc if u ever need help or want to join in on someone elses team for loot this is where u go.. when i started playing and i was farming for hiyoribo shards i always went to the system chat and clicked rlly fast on the hiyoribo shard zone hoping i cld get in ... i did that up until i was in my lvl 40s .. ur prbly smarter than me and alreayd know abt this tab but just felt like i needed to mention it just in case.........

SHARDS... if u get enough shards u can form a summoning pact w that shikigami.. demon seals are little side quests that pop up after youve completed a chapter/exploration and they come up randomly with a handful of different shikigami... but you can also access all of the demon seals from the TEAM tab i mentioned above.... demon seals only have a handful of shikigami though not all of them so dont expect to see like ssr demon seals lol also  some of the shikis u can farm from demon seals are VERY good.. ill touch on this later.. DEMON PARADE is another good way to collect shards.. in ur courtyard, click the town sign and the demon parade sign shld be the first thing u see! demon parade, unlike the demon seals, are chance thing, u might get the shards u want or u might not.. its kinda stupid... throwing beans around and shit.. itll give u a lineup of three shiki that u can choose from, if u hit the shiki u picked u get extra shards.. u might see some shiki in the parade w little lanterns over their heads, that just means they give more shards too nothing special

SHIKIGAMI... when ur looking at all of ur rare and sr shikigami ur probably thinking “this sucks these r all USELESS i want ssrs and sps >:(” well akchually... some of the best shiki in the game (for beginners especially) are rares and srs... shouzu (r), kamaitachi (sr), and hiyoribo (sr), are all farmable shikigami u can get from demon seals, if u havent summoned them already! yamausagi, a shiki u will see a LOT, is also a very easily summonable shiki so dont throw her away.. if u have duplicates of the same shiki u can PROMOTE THEM and it will level up one of their skills, just like a skill daruma! (DONT waste ur skill darumas they are soo valuable.. only use them on the shiki u use the most and want to lvl up skills on).. lvling up the skills on ur shiki increases their power and adds perks and makes them over all.. very sexy..

all shikigami have a certain role and its very important u know which shiki is which bc sometimes if u use them wrong u can mess up ur entire team.. here are all of the roles and some shiki examples:

dps: dps stands for ‘damage per second’ but it can also be used as a noun to describe a shikigami that is damage focused (ex. kuro mujou, momiji, hangan, mio)

cc: stands for ‘crowd control’. ccs have the ability to limit the number of enemies actively fighting during an encounter giving u the advantage (ex. enma, yuki onna, yumekui, samurai x)

pusher: pushes the enemies move bar back, giving u the advantage of going first (ex. kamikui)

puller: basically the same thing as pusher. pulls the ally move bar forward (ex. kamaitachi, yamausagi)

shield: shiki that provides a shield of some sort to protect allies without the use of souls (ex. ichimokuren, shiro)

heal: self explanatory (ex. sakura, hana)

revive: healer types with the ability to revive players w a cooldown. not all healers are revives (ex. hiyoribo, momo)

support: self explanatory.. supports allies (ex. miketsu, kujira, bake-kujira)

unique: shiki w unique abilities that cant be placed under labels (ex. hakuzosu, ushi no toki)

orbs: shiki that supply orbs to ur team (ex. aoandon, zashiki, oitsuki)

counter: shiki that counters after an enemy attack (ex. mannendake, vampire)

AND FINALLYYYYYY how to build ur shiki... while doing explorations u get free little souls.. in the beginning this will be ok since ur just starting off but actually each shiki has a perfect soul that makes them work the best.. now there are too many souls for me to actually list so as a parting gift to this entirely too long onmyoji cheat sheet, i will leave u this SHIKIGAMI BUILD GUIDE made by the nura clan.. it lists EVERY shikigami w the perfect soul for them, what role they play, and how to build them.. i touched on their roles a little bit above but i cldnt list everything so heres this.. i use it like everyday when building new shiki its sooo helpful

For the free 4* summon I’m thinking of getting Altria lancer alter but NEROS THERE and gorgon and emiya alter too so I’m kinda stuck, any thoughts on who I should pick??

Are you summoning on the Merlin banner? If so, try that banner first to see if you get can get a Latoria Alter. Then choose.

If not, just pick who you like best. Nero’s a good “Last Stand” servant (against anyone who isnt an Archer ofc) b/c of her tremendous staying power w/ Imperial Privilege, 3 Guts, and heal.

Latoria Alter is a monster w/ her crit skills, and her NP has a seal which is a bonus. She isn’t very survival-oriented, however, so she needs support on that front + her deck doesn’t really let her gen stars by herself. She needs support from like Yan Qing, Jack, etc. or 2030s and so forth.

While Gorgon is a neat avenger, she needs her strengthening to work well + she’s competing against (I guess since it’s a small class), Lobo (Quick Jalter lite), Dantés (who’s underwhelming rn w/o Skadi tbh), Jalter (whose usability is directly inversely proportional to how big your roster is; the more variety you have, the less useful she becomes b/c she’s great for challenge quests but daily farming and such ehhh... still great tho...), and Angra (cool dude and I love Hollow/Atraxia but he sucks a lot even at lv. 100; have one of those madmen on my friends list). And Emiya Alter faces a lot of competition in his class b/c the 3 star archer pool is monstrously good w/ stuff like Billy, Kogil, Robin Hood, Euryale, etc. not to mention actual SSRs like OG Gil and Ishtar or freebie Kuro.

He does have a defense ignore though which is nice.

You do have good choices though since they’re all storylocked. :p

Personally, I’m going w/ Saberlot b/c I like him, his arts spam, and I want him on my NA account to match my JP.

Just pick who you like best. FGO’s a waifu/husbando collection game if I am to be honest, and it’s more fun to play with who you like over gameplay. Nero doesn’t get many solo rate ups either.

Though if you still can’t decide, put them into a random generator and let it pick.

Spring 2017 Preview

This season is hype. Lots of adaptations I've been waiting for.

1 Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasuka? Isogashii Desuka? Sukuttemoratte Iidesuka?: Surprisingly, out of all the LNs I read in preparation for this season this was far and away my favorite. I don't want to spoil anything, but it's a goddamn mastapeece. I just don't know how they're going to squeeze the whole story into one cours.

2 Sakura Quest: If this show is even half as good as Hanasaku Iroha and Shirobako it's an AOTS candidate. P.A. Works' working women series is one of the best things out there and I hope this show carries the tradition on.

3 Hinako Note: Another early favorite for anime of the season and one glance at the key art should make it obvious why. It's not a Kirara anime but it's definitely got the atmosphere and the cute girls. Plus, it looks like it's going to be lewd, which really puts it over the top.

4 Shingeki no Bahamut VIRGIN SOUL: The first series was one of the best shows of 2014, and Cygames only has more money now. Hopefully it maintains that same fun, Hollywood action-adventure feel of the first series with the new protagonists.

5 Eromanga-Sensei: A good series where I'm not sure who best girl is, but it's definitely not the imouto, which is funny considering this is the new series from the creator of Oreimo. Muramasa is probably my favorite through three volumes of the LN, but Elf-sensei is good too, plus there's some Kido-hyan in here...

6 Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho: Another one I've read the original of. It's pretty good 王道 fantasy, and the second arc is pretty feels inducing. It's a little darker than your average anime fantasy, I think. The main thing, though, is Zero is angel, but I'm still upset she's not being voiced by Ayaneru.

7 Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls Gekijou: I quit playing Deresute late last year, but this should still be pretty great. I hope Rinapoyo is in it... SINCE SHE SURE ISN'T IN THE GACHA AS AN SSR

8 Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata♭: I keep forgetting this is airing this season but holy shit am I ready for Kasumigaoka Utaha (and her kuro pansuto) to come back.

9 Busou Shoujo Machiavellism: One of the top candidates for Blade Dance anime, this one with some really good looking character art and animation and an amazing blondenblu voiced by Hidaka Rina.

10 Rokudenashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Record: Ahh, a good ol' kettou anime. Last couple seasons have kind of lacked a traditional Blade Dance anime but this one definitely checks all the boxes.

11 sin Nanatsu no Taizai: The figures were pretty, uh, nice. I expect there will be too many titties for a lot of people but I've watched all of High School DxD so I'm inoculated against them already. Bring on the big American tts.

12 Ren'ai Boukun: Looks like a solid romantic comedy with some over-the-top characters. Guri is adorable and Hara Yumi plays a chijo.

13 Sword Oratoria: This is a spinoff of Danmachi, the problem is that Aiz Valentine or whatever the fuck her name is (I never did learn how to spell it) was always the most boring character in that show anyway. Forget the spinoff, I want more of Hestia and cute boy Bel.

14 Clockwork Planet: This was the one LN that I wanted to read before the anime aired but didn't have time for. Clockpunk with lolis I guess. The cast is good, including Nanjolno as the male protagonist, so I'm looking forward to it.

15 Granblue Fantasy The Animation: I just started playing Granblue last month so this should be interesting. Cygames has all the money so hopefully they're pumping some of it into A-1 for this show. I just hope Cagliostro shows up.

16 Alice to Zouroku: Loli and curmudgeonly old man is a time-tested formula for HNNNGs, even in 3D, and with the power of 2D it could be even better.

17 Sakurada Reset: Honestly, it seems kind of boring, but Takayama Katsuhiko knows how to write good, feels-driven adaptations so it might be good. From what I understand, the LN it's based on is immensely popular.

18 ID-0: I have no idea what to expect out of this after the most recent trailer. Hopefully it's a cute as one is led to believe.

19 Tsugumomo: Not gonna lie, the only reason I'm even aware of this series is because for years now the artist of the original has posted nude drawings of all the characters on his Pixiv account (they're pretty good). Hopefully that means the actual series is pretty lewd too.

20 Gin no Guardian: Hadn't heard about this until the other day. The trailer makes it look pretty cute, but it's a "trapped in a video game" story and I'm pretty sure the goofy cartoon stuff is only going to be right at the outset. Not a lot of high hopes.

21 Re:CREATORS: They won't let me watch the trailer for this, but it has girls. I guess it's another VRMMORPG anime or something. The staff is pretty high quality, with Aoki Ei both directing and writing, so it could be interesting... But the last thing Aoki Ei and TROYCA worked on was the detestable Aldnoah Zero.

22 Seikai suru Kado: I actually missed this when I was going over next season's anime yesterday, but it sounds like a high concept SF show about a Japanese diplomat slipping into a fantasy world. The premise gives me GATE flashbacks, but surely nothing can be that bad...

23 Frame Arms Girl: I hate the CG, but I'll at least give the first episode a try only because the human protagonist is a girl. Really not sure why they went the Busou Shinki route with this instead of just doing a sci-fi military action show.

24 Tsuki ga Kirei: No idea what this is. The "story" icon on the official website is greyed out which is pretty rare. Art style is kinda weird.

25 Makeruna!! Aku no Gundan!: You really did it Soramaru.

26 Twin Angel Break: I never saw the original Twin Angel shows but it's got Kayanon so count me in. Funnily enough the key visual just reminds me of Flip Flappers now.

27 Idol Time PriPara: Why you do this Takara Tomy. If you fuck this up Amamiya will lay a 10,000 year curse on your families.
