introducing your boyfriend to your parents has always sounded scary to you. until you met yudai. after the first date, you were already 100% sure you wanted to marry him one day.

there were the both of you, in your parents' diner, eating your mom's delicious food, and your boyfriend excitedly telling your parents about himself while you couldn't help but watch him with hearts in your eyes. you couldn't thank life enough for making you meet him almost exactly 10 months ago, because you have been the happiest woman ever since.

you still remember everything so well. it was a bright, sunny day. you work at a local cafe; it's a small shop, and you basically know all of your customers names and their orders from memory.

your head felt heavy, and you could've fallen asleep on the spot easily. you couldn't stay home due to your coworker already taking a day off, you were the only barista at work.

you took some painkillers and hoped you could survive until closing time. while mopping the floor behind the counter, you heard the door open and a "good afternoon" in a man's voice. it was someone you'd never seen around before. it's safe to say he made your jaw drop immediately. he was a tall, good-looking, and well-dressed man. a literal disney prince.

"good afternoon. what can i get you?" you asked, trying to get yourself together.

"one americano, please," he smiled at you. little did he know he had made your heart skip a beat with this small gesture.

after this, yudai visited the cafe more often, basically every day. the conversations became longer day by day, and your giggles filled the small space of the cafe when he told you stories about himself. it felt like you knew him for ages, not just a few weeks.

two months later, you found yourself sitting in the passenger seat of his car. he picked you up and drove you to a silent field to watch the night sky. he had been planning this ever since you first told him you prefer quiet places where you can turn your mind off after a stressful week.

you put a blanket on the ground and sat on it. yudai sat beside you, he hesitated a bit before gently taking your small hand in his big one, rubbing the back of it slowly, as if you were going to break if he wasn't careful.

"thank you for bringing me here," you said, turning to yudai.

he smiled at you, fighting the urge to kiss you there and then.

"the moon is beautiful, isn't it?" he asked, looking at you. you blushed at the question; you knew so damn well what it meant.

"i love you too." he immediately turned his head to your answer. a small smirk appeared on his face as he pulled you closer to him, his arms finding themselves around your waist.

the two of you sat in silence for a few more minutes before you finally spoke up.

"i feel safe with you, yudai. i've been meaning to tell you this for a while, but i thought it would be too early for it." you chuckled and looked away shyly.

he kissed your hand before replying to your confession. "i'm so glad you feel this way. you are so precious to me; i'm one hundred percent sure you are my soulmate yn."

his words made your eyes tear up a little, which he noticed, and he hugged you close to his chest. his hands, which were holding yours just a few seconds ago, were now gently caressing your head as he kissed the top of it.

in that moment, both of you were sure that you didn't want to be separated, ever.
