Masterlist - Part 1 - Join My Taglist!
Requested on Wattpad! I normally don't do Part 2 requests, but an idea for this one popped immediately into my head and I couldn't let it go :)
Summary: Through a truly ridiculous series of events, you've managed to become a *triple* agent for the Resistance, being sent back to your original base by the First Order as a trusted spy after spending time as a Resistance spy in First Order territory. You can't wait to be back home, and even better, to tell your boyfriend Poe Dameron just what level of bs you managed to pull off.

Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
I tried to keep a smile off my face as I stood, back straight and hands behind my back, facing General Armitage Hux. He'd been my main point of contact for the past few months after he'd been the one to recruit me as a First Order spy, and the fact that I hadn't laughed in his face a single time that he'd been telling me all about what being a spy would entail was a true testament to my skills.
I'd been undercover for the Resitance deep in First Order territory when he'd come knocking with a bunch of soldiers because he suspected my apartment was a hideout for Resistance sympathizers and activity. And, to be fair, he was right. Poe Dameron, my boyfriend, had snuck in for a rare visit and left literal minutes before Hux and his friends showed up. But I'd done such a good job answering their interrogation questions that, instead of arresting me, they'd recruited me.
Now, after months of preparing, I was being sent on my way to find and infiltrate the Resistance's base. I'd need to be careful not to blow my true allegiances, but once I got out of range of the First Order and was only expected to make occasional reports, I couldn't help thinking this would be my easiest assignment yet.
"Are we clear on communication protocols and the kind of information we're most interested in?" asked Hux as I tuned back in to the end of his lecture. I nodded once, curtly.
"Yes sir."
"Good. Then best of luck to you. You're doing your Order a great service."
I saluted, fast and sharp, exemplifying the unshakeable, blind commitment they looked for in their recruits. I held it for a few moments, then Hux nodded and I let my hand fall back to my side.
"I look forward to hearing what you have to report."
The march through the rest of the ship felt like a dream. I was being dropped fairly far from anywhere the First Order suspected of being a Resistance base to make sure no one would be suspicious of me, but I was still closer to home than I'd been in a long, long time. I could swear I felt the latent tension of the past six months ease out of my shoulders as I watched the ship disappear without me on it.
I took a moment to enjoy the feeling, then quickly got my head back in the game. There was still a chance, however slim, that Hux was playing me. If I wasn't careful, I could accidentally lead the First Order right back to the Resistance base they'd spent so long looking for.
I spent the next week doing my due diligence, making sure no one was following me and that I didn't have a tracker on me anywhere that I didn't know about. I sent a brief update to Hux through the convoluted method we'd come up with for contact, telling him that I had a lead and was going to follow up on it, and then I finally started the trek home.
When the entrance to the Resistance base finally came into view another full week and change later, my heart leapt. It was vital to my cover that I didn't let myself dwell on how much I'd missed this place while living among First Order personnel, but now that I was finally safe, I almost starting crying at the sight of it. I hadn't really realized how badly I'd wanted to be back here until now.
I walked the rest of the way up with a massive smile on my face, scanning the crowd for anybody I recognized. I got some strange looks, largely from newer recruits who didn't know me, but then finally I found one of the people I was most hoping to see.
Poe Dameron stood just across the hanger with his back to me. I grinned and started walking towards him with purpose, and after a moment, the person he was talking to noticed me and pointed over Poe's shoulder. Poe turned around with a frown that quickly changed into a confused but beaming smile, then started rushing towards me. I sped up too, until we were running towards each other across the hanger. As soon as I got in reach, Poe picked me up and spun me around in a tight hug, then set me back on the ground only to pull me into a searing kiss. I kissed him back just as hard, wrapping my arms around his shoulders and tangling my hands in his hair. I ended up breaking the kiss as a joyful laugh bubbled out of me; finally we were together without the looming threat of a First Order solider at the door ruining the moment.
"What... what are you doing here?" he asked, still smiling and completely breathless. I laughed again, joy overflowing in my chest as I looked at the man I loved.
"You'll absolutely never believe it," I said with a crooked smile. He raised an eyebrow at me, so I continued. "I've been recruited as a spy for the First Order."
"...You what?"
I laughed as Poe stared at me, brow furrowed as he tried to figure out what was happening. I couldn't exactly blame him–I still wasn't totally sure how I'd managed to get here.
"It's the craziest story you'll ever hear, and I promise to tell you every last detail later tonight. But right now, I should really go and see Leia."
"Now hold on a minute," Poe said, grabbing my waist and pulling me a little tighter to him. As if I'd be moving away from him voluntarily any time soon. "You have to give me a little more than that, first."
I smiled. "Okay, but you have to promise not to freak out when I tell you the first part."
Poe frowned, looking incredibly nervous, but nodded anyway.
"Alright..."
"So remember the last time I saw you, when you visited me in the apartment where I was hiding out to spy on the First Order? Well that same night, right after you left, General Hux and Kylo Ren themselves came knocking with a whole host of troopers at their backs."
"They WHAT?"
"You said you wouldn't freak out! Just listen."
I could see Poe practically vibrating and fuming with delayed panic and about a thousand questions, but to his credit, he managed to hold them back with nothing more than slightly tightening his grip on my waist.
"Well, they asked me a bunch of questions because they thought a Resistance spy base was operating out of my apartment-" Poe winced, but I ignored him and kept going. "-and I answered the questions well enough that they decided I was clearly a loyal member of the First Order with a passion for them and their rule. So, instead of arresting me, they recruited me to be a spy! Of course I said yes, and now I'm here as a triple agent, so I can feed them a bunch of bad information, or information that comes just a little too late for them to do anything about it while still being correct, all while being here again, on base with you and everybody else."
Poe huffed a disbelieving laugh, just staring and blinking at me for a few moments while he processed. Then a smile spread across his face again, even as he shook his head.
"That is... incredible. I can think of about a thousand other things I could say about it too, but... just wow."
"I know," I said with a grin. I stepped back slightly out of his embrace, then took his hand instead. At some point we would have to go do separate activities on base, but I didn't plan on spending a second away from Poe right now until I had to. "Now, I need to go talk to Leia and Major Ematt about all this. Come with me?"
Poe matched my grin, still shaking his head but letting me pull him out of the hanger base with me.
"Of course. I'd follow you anywhere, you absolute maniac."
I just laughed as Poe fell into step beside me, our hands still held tight as we marched through the base. By no means was this war over; we still had so much work to do, and being back on base didn't even come close to putting me out of danger. But now I was in danger and fighting alongside Poe and all the people I cared about, while still putting my skills as a spy to full use. It was the best of both worlds, and in the middle of fighting back against an Empire that just didn't want to stay down, victories like this alongside loved ones were the things most worth fighting for.

________________________________
You shift in your small bed, trying to find a position that is vaguely comfortable. Though it seems more likely that the First Order will just give up and surrender tomorrow, with the way Poe is taking up all the space possible.
You shove him a little and grumble, too tired to be polite about it. It wasn’t even his bed anyway, or his room. And it was his own fault for getting so drunk on cheap Rorian rum.
One of the most exciting things about The Resistance using this moon as a new base was the preexisting structures that included personal rooms. Even though they were small, and you didn’t really mind sharing with others, it was nice to have your own space. Was nice.
Emphasis on the was.
Poe had basically collapsed in your room, far too out of it to make it back to his own after the celebration night at the cantina. You had kindly given up half of your tiny bed, the act of altruism aided by your soft spot for the pilot. (More than a soft spot if you were being honest.)
But that was hours ago, when you were more awake and the unspoken deal had been for half of your space. Not the current 95% Poe was laying all over.
You shove him again, wriggling quickly to take up the free area you managed to push him out of so you could lay comfortably.
Poe let’s out a soft moan of confusion, but doesn’t open his eyes.
You settle, satisfied with your well earned extra room. But it’s less than a minute before he’s shifting closer again, trying to encroach on your side.
That’s it.
“Poe.” You say harshly, pushing back on him.
You expect him to wake up groggily, or at least turn over onto his other side facing away from you.
Instead he mumbles something intelligible and flops his arm over your stomach and snuggles close. He presses his face to your neck, his soft breath hitting your skin.
Heat rises to your face. This definitely wasn’t what you’d intended.
“Poe.” You whisper, your previous annoyance burned up with embarrassment. You try to push on his arm, move it back over. But your movements only cause him to grumble and hold you tighter, curling his body into yours.
You breathe in deeply. At least you had some space, right?
Eventually you drift off to sleep again. And even though you didn’t want to admit it, there was something comforting about Poe’s warmth and tight hug.
But of course his close proximity made you dream of him.
It was hazy, and not quite tangible. Part of you was vaguely aware that you were dreaming, the edges were too soft, too liquid and not quite in focus.
Except it felt real.
There was an ache between your legs that was being teased by a constant pressure. You squirmed against it, trying to find some semblance of relief.
A faint sigh pulled you further from sleep. A quiet muffled whisper of your name murmured into your neck sent a sharp thrill of sensation down your spine.
“Poe?” Your voice was heavy, saturated with sleep as you shifted slightly, moving and- oh.
He moans softly against your skin as your hip brushes against his hard cock, his fingers digging into your ribs as he holds you close, silently begging you to repeat the motion.
“‘m sorry,” he mumbled, obviously just fully waking himself. “I didn’t, I didn’t mean to,” this time he shifts slightly, raising his legs and you gasp, unable to stop the sound from spilling out of your mouth. His thigh rubs against your centre, pressing your soaked through pyjama bottoms against you.
You grip hold of his shoulder, your other hand fisting the curls at the nape of his neck as you pull him against you, needing him closer.
His breath hitches. “Is that good?” He murmured, pressing his thigh against you again and rocking it back and forward slightly.
You bite your lip and nod desperately, your eyes screwed shut.
He watches you, enraptured for a second, before he slowly leans back to your neck and places a light kiss against your skin.
You whine at the caress, rubbing your aching clit back and forth against the strong muscle of his thigh.
Poe briefly mistakes the small sound as distress, all his senses on high alert. “I can stop, I’m sorry, I don’t-”
“Please don’t stop,” you beg, your voice breaking, sounding needy and pathetic and so, so wrecked. “Feels good, please, Poe, please, I-” you moan loudly, giving up any pretence of trying to hide your feelings as he latches back onto your neck, sucking hard, and grabs hold of your hips, fucking you against his leg.
“Poe,” you whine, dragging out his name. Not sure for a moment if this is real or if you’re still dreaming.
“Fuck baby, yes,” he growls, biting at your skin before licking a stripe up your neck. “Keep moaning my name like that, keep doing it.”
He kissed you sloppily, biting at your bottom lip and slipping his tongue into your mouth, as he moved. Before climbing on top of you and hooking his hands under your knees so that he could move your legs apart and settle between him.
He moaned as he pressed his cock against your clothed heat, echoing your cry of pleasure.
“Poe,” you whimpered between kisses, so desperate for every touch and caress.
“Wanted you for so long,” he kissed you hard, trailing his lips down your jaw and neck while he ran his hands over your breasts and waist. “Always imagined what you’d sound like, feel like, taste like.”
He kisses down your chest, biting softly at your breast through the material of your top and moaning when you gasp and buck up against him.
“Always want you to make that noise,” he groans as he keeps trailing his lips downwards, dragging his fingertips lower until he can slip them under the waistband of your trousers.
You yelp in surprise as he pulls them off in one fluid motion, partially lifting you off the mattress in the process. The cool night air hits your feverish skin, but you barely have a moment to shiver before he’s pulling your legs back open. His fingers digging into your thighs and leaving bruises in his hast, not that you care.
When his tongue touches your clit it feels like heaven. You gasp and moan loudly, crying out his name as he sucks. His own groan of pleasure vibrating through you.
He presses his left forearm against the inside of your thigh, spreading his hand out across your stomach and pinning you down as he devours you.
Instinctively you grind up against him as your claw at the bedsheets. He sucks at your nub, alternating between kitten licks and rolling circles, driving you completely mad as he purposefully ignores your aching centre.  Poe growls low in his throat happily as you moan and writhe under him.
“Poe, please!” You never imagined it would be like this, never dared to hope that he would want to touch you like this, and now he had pushed all rational thinking completely out of your mind, filled you utterly to the brim with only thoughts of him.
He moans again, bucking against the mattress to give himself some slight relief. “You’re so wet,” he runs his nose through your folds, following it with broad licks of his tongue. He teases your entrance, just slipping inside for a smallest moment, and chuckling when you whine and try to thrust up against him.
“How long have you been this wet, hmm?” He nips at your thigh, bringing his right hand up to trace the outline of your pussy while he keeps you pressed against the bed with his left.
“You been walking around the base just desperate for me? Just needing me to take care of you?”
“Yes,” you sobbed, your skin burning with embarrassment as you admitted it.
“Oh, fuck,” he whimpers, the dark seductive tone faltering at your confession. He buried his face into your thigh, sucking a love bite into your skin.
Poe presses two fingers into you easily, slowly sliding them in and out and moaning as he feels your walls contract around him.
Your back arches, toes curling as he gently readjusts the angle, searching for the spot to make you see stars.
“Poe,” you breathe, so overcome with the sensation of his thick fingers.
He reaches up with his left hand and grabs yours, squeezing tightly. “That’s it baby, that’s it, fuck,” he bites his lip, watching your face intently.
The ache in his dick is maddening, all consuming, he’s so hard he’s sure he could cum just from watching you.
“Always need you,” he mutters, unable to stop himself as he continues to fuck you deep with his fingers. “Always so desperate for you, just want you all the time, I-” He stops himself, stumbling over the words he wants to say, that every fibre of his being demands he says.
He can’t speak those words, can’t admit them when every day is just another chance for the universe to tear you apart.
“Poe,” you grab hold of him, pulling his lips to yours and kissing him deeply before you yank off your top and tug at his trousers. “I need you too.”
He groans and kisses you back, almost completely swallowing your words. But thankfully he gets the message and helps you to tug down his trousers to his knees before he leans forward and thrusts into you.
You both cry out, moaning loud enough to wake the whole base, still just for a moment to truly feel each other before Poe starts to move.
He rocks his hips against you, thrusting in and out with long lazy strokes as he bites his lip hard enough to bleed. His features pinched together in deep concentration as he tries so hard not to cum.
“I’m not gonna… I’m not gonna last long,” he moans as you clench around him, at how tightly you grip him and how your muscles tense as you arch up to meet his every movement.
“Me neither.” You pant, every nerve feels like it’s on fire, ignited by every touch.
He presses his forefinger against your clit, rubbing soft circles around the nerve and gasping when you twitch and clamp down on him.
“Poe,” you barely get the word out, pleasure twisting in your stomach and chest and drowning your lungs.
The slow rock is driving you insane, a gentle push and pull, give and take. It would be so much easier, so much simpler if it was hard and fast and meaningless and wasn’t… wasn’t…
“Baby,” he gasps, so close and needing more, needing you to overwhelm him, to-
You cry out as you cum, throwing your head back and squeezing him hard. He sobs as he follows, thrusting once more and stays deep as he cums inside.
The sound of both of your breathing fills the room as your heartbeats return to normal.
There’s the smallest fraction of a second where insecurity raises its ugly head, starts to whisper in your ear.
But it’s almost as if Poe can hear it too. He pushes himself up to look into your eyes before kissing you softly and holding you tight.
You chuckle as he nuzzles your cheek.
“I’ve still got my shirt on.” He mutters and you laugh.
He grins and snuggles into your neck for a moment before he fumbles with the blanket, mostly managing to pull it over you both. “I’ll clean us up in a second, I just wanna…” He yawns and you smile.
“Me too.” You kiss his cheek and hug him close. He sighs happily and holds you tight.

how to save a life
Poe Dameron x Ex-First Order!Reader
Summary: It took a lot of courage to escape from the grasp of the First Order, and even more to deliver yourself to the Resistance. But you did it. Months later - still not trusted by anyone in the Resistance - you vie to prove yourself once and for all. The perfect opportunity comes up when Mr. Face-of-the-damn-Resistance needs help.
Word Count: 3.5K
Warnings: Canon-level violence, injury, near-death experiences, mugging/street violence, Leia being mean because she's being protective, imprisonment.

Tumblr media
It took a lot of gall to double cross the First Order. You had been stolen from your home planet as a baby and indoctrinated into the regime - you knew nothing else. You were strong with force. Supreme Leader Snoke was keen to have you on his side. He kept you as a prisoner - forced to do his bidding and his dirty work, with the threat of death looming over your head. You were too young to understand that Supreme Leader Snoke couldn’t afford to have you killed, no matter how often he threatened it.
You had escaped on a regular morning, using your standing as one of Snoke’s own to commandeer a ship and escape with a fleet that were on their way to deal with Resistance scum on a nearby moon. You landed over a mile away from the other Stormtroopers, your officer uniform making you stand out like a sore thumb. You ripped your jacket up, tearing it to shreds before throwing it into the trees.
The trek into the city was long, but you used it to disguise yourself further, untucking your shirt and ripping the sleeves, before rubbing dirt into your clothes and cheeks. With the few credits you hand and your First Order military pass, you managed to barter a ship that would allow you to get off the moon unnoticed.
You set off early in the morning, heading further into the outer rim where there was less and less First Order patrol.
You landed on one of the busiest planets of all: Daiyu. Daiyu was a planet known for its thriving underworld dealings - despite the First Order's many attempts to get it under control. No one would find you there. You hid amongst the low lives, stealing little to get by and trying not to draw any attention to yourself. You may have grown up in the shelter of the Supreme Leader’s gaze, but you knew the force. And you knew how to hide in it.
Tumblr media
It took a lot of energy to hide yourself from the force. Especially considering Supreme Leader Snoke knew who you were, what you felt like. He reached out to you in the force, finger scraping you but never quite holding you long enough to gain a full picture. In the beginning, it had been hard to keep him out of your head when you were asleep - returning to the force always felt like the most natural state. A state of peace and serenity, an escape from the danger you had to evade at every waking minute.
No doubt, Snoke would send scouts out to find you. And when that failed, he'd put a pricey bounty on your head. You were right.
You'd met all sorts of hoodlums in Daiyu, and been beaten up by most of them too. But you wouldn't risk making yourself known to any of them by fighting back. Not when so many were looking for you. At the beginning, the price had been low - reasonable for someone of your lack of class and standing - but the price increased exponentially each day that passed.
It was months before you decided to venture back into living and not just hiding. You'd been monitoring the airwaves - the bounty on your head was reducing everyday - the value not nearly enough to pique the interests of the men of Daiyu. Clearly, Snoke had found someone else to chase.
You slowly allowed yourself to become one with the force again, practicing your mastery of it only when you knew others weren't watching - even if Snoke wasn't looking for you, Daiyu was the kind of place where even your friends would sell you out if they had something to gain from it. And you had no friends in Daiyu. You kept yourself blocked from the minds of Snoke and his protege, Kylo Ren, showing them misdirection every time they cast a net out for you. Your mastery was improving.
You found a job at a scrapping plant - measly pay but it was better than nothing. You clocked in and out at the same time every day, collecting your pay and rationing whatever you could buy with it. You still napped lightly in alleyways, avoiding the police officers who patrolled the streets at night to kick the homeless out of doorways.
You woke up to the ways of the real world really fast. The world was full of bad people with bad intentions. They beat you up in a back alley behind the plant, stealing your credits and your clothes before the whirring approach of police officers scared them away. You ran from the police too - not wanting to be turned into the First Order for disciplining.
The police officers were hot on your tail. You ran through the streets and the market, trying to find a place to hide. You dove into one of the mooring decks - where pilots would land their craft for the duration of their visit. You covered the identifiable logo on your chest with your arms, crossing them to seem more intimidating. You waited for the police to drive past before running in the opposite direction. Straight into the chest of someone.
He grabbed your arm tightly, leading you into another back alley. Shit. You were probably gonna be beaten up again or escorted to the police. You tried to struggle out of his grip, but it was vice-like around your arm. He clamped his other hand around your mouth, looking around for danger, presumably. You looked up at his face.
You knew that face. You'd seen it more than once in Kylo Ren's memories, and also posters around Coruscant when you were younger. Poe Dameron. The face of the Resistance.
He loosened his grip around you, as he reached up to speak into his comms. "Got a deserter. Gonna bring 'em in." Your heart plummeted. He marched you into the mooring deck, before grabbing some cuffs out of his plane. No one did a double-take. The security in Daiyu was far from the best. He cuffed your hands in front of you, before pushing you into the ship.
It was cramped inside the U-Wing, it wasn't built to seat 2 people. You sat huddled behind his seat, holding on for dear life when he took off and jumped to light speed. You groaned as you hit your head, which Poe gave a sympathetic 'sorry' to.
As you draw closer and closer to D'Qar, you feel a calming wave flow through you. It was as if someone was emitting a beacon for you to latch on to. You knew this feeling. Leia. You had known for years that Leia was strong with the force. She had to be, given Kylo Ren's prowess. But you didn't know just how strong she truly was. You tried to reach out to her through the force, but Poe interrupted you.
"10 minutes to landing. General Organa is expecting you."
The calmness evaporated. General Organa's presence in the force may be calming but you knew of her reputation as the General of the Resistance. She was ruthless.
Tumblr media
They threw you into a holding cell - which realistically was just a room that didn’t unlock from the inside. You sat there alone - plagued by your own mind for the better part of the day. Each time footsteps passed by your door, you panicked. This is it. This is the end.
It was always a false alarm.
Someone was walking by, scurrying to briefings they were late for, or heading to the droid mechs because, ‘the damn droid went rolling into a wall again! That’s the third time this week!’
You don’t see Poe again - he’s a captain of the Resistance, you reason, he has better things to do than babysit a hostage. Because that’s what you were to them. Deserter or not, you weren’t one of their guys. And that made you dangerous.
You focussed your energy on trying to find Leia - maybe you could understand how to help her if you knew what her problems were. You needed her to trust you, that was the only way you’d be safe. You couldn’t find her between all the buzzing energies of the force. It was overwhelmingly loud. You pulled yourself away from the search, breathing heavy as you came down. You’d never been good at finding people in the force who didn’t want to be found.
A petite blonde woman came as the sun was setting, in her arms a tray full of food. You gorged yourself on it. The Resistance may not have had much but one thing they did have was good food. At least, better food than the First Order.
Leia walked in just as you were finished eating - she’d been waiting for you to finish, hoping that they’re small morsel of kindness would earn enough trust for you to tell them what they wanted to know.
She started softly, asking you questions about yourself and your role within the First Order. You told her half truths - you had been stolen from your home planet as a child and had been raised to be a spy for the First Order. Leia frowned at that, the small pieces of trust you had gained immediately being withdrawn.
She started to ask more interrogatory questions. What were the First Order planning? How were they expanding? Future targets?
You told them the truth. You didn’t know.
The truth wasn’t good enough.
Leia once again asked about the First Order’s plans. You didn’t know. She asked for the whereabouts of Snoke. You didn’t know. She asked, discretely, about her son. You didn’t know.
After an hour going head-to-head, yours was pounding. You’d been resisting her in the force and she was much stronger than you. Much more well practiced too. Your vision started to cloud as you begged her to believe you.
The First Order was good at compartmentalising. Only the people that needed to know, did. And you almost never needed to. Especially since Kylo Ren deemed you a flight risk - rightfully so, seeing as it was always your intention to escape.
Leia left the cell grumbling under her breath, muttering about how the First Order was insufferable. For all her abilities, she didn’t seem to pick up on the fact that you were strong with the force. All the better; less things to explain.
They kept you confined to the cell for quite a while after that. To be fair to the Resistance, they treated their prisoners far better than the First Order did. You had a feeling that they didn’t have much in the way of prisoners - given the lack of purpose built holding cells in the facility.
Your room was big - there was enough space to move around, keep active, meditate. There was a small fresher in the corner of the room and the bed you had was far more comfortable than the one you slept in every night on Star Destroyers. The light streamed in through the small window, and like clockwork, some poor person would bring you a meal every morning, noon, and night.
Aside from this though, you were bored. Inconceivably bored. You’d never had this much time to yourself before. Being under Snoke’s unrelenting gaze meant that you were always working - either practicing, or proving your worth. You had none of that anymore.
You spent the majority of your day honing your tracking skills. You tried to pick out people you knew - those with distinct feels. Those like Poe Dameron.
Poe had been on a new mission since the day after you landed on D’Qar - you’d asked one of the nicer people who brought you food a week after you arrived. He’d returned to Daiyu, trying to find an ex-First Order arms dealer. You had given a little information about the guy - how he was hiding from the First Order since abandoning their efforts to weaponise their young. That had earned you a little more favour in the eyes of the Resistance, but you were still fighting an uphill battle. It was no matter. You were safe here.
Tumblr media
You felt him before anyone else. He had come out of hyperspace and wasn’t requesting permission to enter the airspace. You jumped out of bed. Something was wrong, you could feel it.
Poe had run into quite a bit of trouble on Daiyu. The intel you had given him was good. Not just good, it was great. They’d got some of the information they needed before police were knocking at the door, demanding to be let in. Poe ran. He ran with police on his tail, before escaping in his X-Wing. He jumped straight into deep space. Into enemy territory. He’d been recognised almost immediately - the X-Wing was a dead giveaway. He’d been chased for light years and shot at; his baby had taken some pretty nasty hits. He’d been grounded on Dantooine, the planet nearly deserted. And yet, it seemed just his luck that a few locals took offence to his presence. He’d sustained pretty bad injuries to his torso and left leg. He’d escaped as fast as possible - the loss of blood making his head spin. He entered through the atmosphere of D’Qar, eyes closing off their own accord. There wasn’t enough power in the ship to radio down to ask for permission, nor to land safely. He had to ground the bird.
You slipped your jacket that you had been given on, as well as your old shoes. You played with the lock on the door, having memorised the sound of the code from when you were brought food. You type in the code tentatively, thanking the Maker when the door whooshed open. You crept out, sneaking towards the main blast door. You could feel Poe slipping, feel him losing his touch. As soon as you were out on the ground, you sprinted.
Poe had angled the ship a few miles west of the base. It was still going to be a trek back to the base, but that was better than crashing on the runway; he’d never live that down.
You ran towards the trees, heading west. You could see the smoking ship in your peripheral vision.
Poe was lying on the grass when you got to him, eyes shut with his hand pressing on his side; there was blood everywhere.
Your hands cradled his face as you fell to your knees next to him. You ripped his shirt away - hands ghosting over his chest as you felt for his heartbeat. It was faint, but it was there.
You reached out to the force, pulling threads as you attempted to close up some of the wounds. The bleeding slowed as you pleaded with him; "Poe, come back! They need you, Poe!"
He sputtered suddenly, rolling onto his side, wincing as the newly healed skin stretched. You stayed by his side, hands still running up and down his body, trying to find any more injuries to heal. His breathing remained heavy, as he tried to recollect everything that happened. His hand flew to his side.
"How the hell did you do that?"
"It's a long story."
"I have time."
"I don't," Poe looks at you questioningly, "It's only a matter of time before they realise I'm gone. Or one of them shows up here looking for you."
He shrugged in agreeance, lying back to face the sun, "How did you know I was here?" You laid back, head next to his. The sky was pretty - clear and bright. Maybe, they'd let you come back out here - watch the sun rise and set more. Maybe.
"I felt it. I could feel the disturbance - you were panicked." You whispered, trying not to offend him. It was the truth, but you knew how powerful men often hated the truth.
"Me? Panicked? Never. Have you met me?" His tone was coloured with laughter. You smiled.
You sat in silence for a long time, just enjoying the peace and quiet of the D'Qar weather, until you heard the med team running towards you.
"They're almost here. They're gonna take you to the med-wing. Fix you up. You'll be able to fly in no time." You gave him a watery smile. He gripped your hand tightly.
"I'll tell Leia. You saved my life - she'll ease up. You can train with her - she's - something - with the force. She can help you."
"NO!" You yelled, jumping away from him, "You can't tell Leia. You can't, you can't - promise me - PROMISE ME, POE - promise me, you won't tell Leia." He grabbed your hand and soothed you, promising not to tell Leia until you were ready.
He held your hand until the med team arrived and they ushered him onto a Gurney. He yelled at the two corporals left with you to be nice - "she saved my life!" he yelled as he was dragged away. They threw back in the same cell just the same.
Tumblr media
It was two days before you saw anyone else again. You were provided food at every mealtime just the same as you had before - except there was no interrogation afterward. You preferred the interrogation. Made you feel... needed.
You knew that Poe had argued for you. You'd heard from two officers from data who were gossiping about it on the way to the Cantina.
"Did you hear?" One of them giggled.
"About the General and Poe. Of course!"
Poe had made the dash to see the General as soon as he was cleared from the med-wing. You'd saved his life. It was only fair that he do the same.
He walked - no, strutted - into the General's office in a very 'Poe' way, claiming that the matter was of the utmost importance. He gave his mission report - how the intel wasn't just good, it was "brilliant. It solved some of our supply issues, which means we're in a better place than ever to beating them. They have no blaster parts, no ship parts - the supply chain will be delayed for weeks." Leia had dismissed him after that.
The first sign of trouble should have been that. That Leia hadn't asked him about the trouble or berated him for getting into it. Instead, she was just letting him go.
Poe pushed the issue - he talked about the trouble and his destroyed X-Wing, and how he practically crash-landed into D'Qar because the police on Daiyu was "mad strict. Like they couldn't let a small thing like that go? Maker, what happened to that place?"
The second sign of trouble was the lack of warnings. Usually, Leia laid the 'be careful, don't get yourself killed,' warnings on thick. They were nowhere to be found.
The third sign of trouble was the glazed-over expression in Leia's eyes. Poe realised that he never had Leia's attention, to begin with. Leia's mind was completely preoccupied with the young girl in a cell, who'd risked her freedom to save a Captain. A man that she barely knew.
The bigger mystery was how had she hidden so successfully in the force - not only from Leia herself but from bigger threats, like Snoke and Kylo Ren.
Poe, mistaking Leia's confusion for anger, begged her not to hurt the girl. "She's just a kid, General, she was doing what she'd been taught." Leia sent Poe away, assuring him that she wasn't going to hurt the girl.
You felt Leia before you saw her. You'd fallen asleep with your back upright against the headboard, an awkward crick forming in your neck. Your eyes opened to Leia perched on the edge of your bed.
You jumped into apologies and pleas - "please don't send me back" and "I was just trying to help him - the med team wasn't going to get there in time."
You were surprised when you felt her hand brush up against your cheek, but you leaned into the touch all the same. She gazed at you so lovingly that for a moment you forgot that she was the reason you were locked in here.
"I was wrong." Her words stunned you, "I was wrong about you, and I apologise. You are safe here - to practice the force, or live without it. If you want to leave, I will find you a planet on which no one - First Order or Resistance - will find you. Should you wish to stay, I would welcome you with open arms, as would everyone else here."
You smiled at her, "I would like to stay - if that's ok?"
She smiled at you, standing up and walking towards the door. "I'll make sure you get your first flying session with Captain Dameron first thing in the morning. He said you had a knack for flying."
"Umm, General?" She turns to look at you, "If it's all the same to you, I'd prefer something on the ground? Something like controllership?" She smiled and nodded.
"I'll have Connix meet you in the morning, kid. Sleep well."
And you did. In fact, you had probably never slept better.

Pairing: Poe Dameron x Reader
Warnings: None. Angst, romance, humour.
Summary: You’re informed of what happened to Poe...and it couldn’t be straightforward.
You sat by the monitor and continuously flipped through the life scans of Jakku. It had been 8 hours since news reached the base of a First Order attack on the planet and all contact had been lost with Poe Dameron and his droid BB-8.
You had barely gotten a wink of sleep. The destruction of the village haunted your thoughts and the fear of losing Poe in the field was the reason you worked relentlessly to find the Resistance pilot and his droid.
Most of the officers had retired to their bed chambers for rest but there were still several others that remained working. Leaning forward, you set your head to rest on the palm of your hand while pouring over footage for the hundredth time.
“Lieutenant?” A voice called out.
Turning to the right, you saw General Organa looking back, grim-faced. An expression that you knew to be accompanied with bad news.
Standing up respectively, you saluted the Princess of Alderaan. “General. Is there a problem?”
Leia let out a soft sigh. “Follow me.”
The two words were frightening. They could lead into anything. You followed the General to the X-Wing bay and caught up to walk beside her. Leia had kept quiet most of the way which only heightened your concern. So you spoke up.
“General Organa, what are we doing here?” The bay was operating as usual and there didn’t seem to be any apparent disruption.
Leia stopped walking and you turned to face her.
“We recovered the body of Poe Dameron.” Leia revealed.
You wanted the ground to swallow you. Your mind went blank and suddenly you couldn’t remember what Poe looked like. Mouth falling dry, your chest began to ache… then a voice made itself known as it approached.
“I think we can skip Jakku from our list of honeymoon destinations.” Poe joked - very much alive.
You turned and saw the familiar messy black hair. Running forward, you threw your arms around Poe’s neck – engulfing the man in the warmest hug. Your nails dug into his shirt holding him tight as if he would disappear again.
Then the choked sobs of relief escaped.
Poe’s eyes widened, his arms squeezing just a bit tighter. “Hey, I’m here. It’s okay.” He looked to Leia and she shook her head at him.
“I warned you not to play this trick.” She reprimanded.
A commander approached the princess and requested for her to join them in the war room. Leia nodded and left to complete her duties.
After a few minutes, you finally calmed enough to release Poe. You studied his face and noted the bruises printing his skin and blood-stains over his top. The side of his head was wounded and his trademark jacket was missing.
In spite of the obvious damage, he glowed.
“I thought I lost you.” You told him.
Poe nodded sadly. “You almost did aboard the Empire’s fleet.”
“You were taken captive? How did you-?”
“I promise I’ll tell you everything but, uh…” Poe rubbed his neck sheepishly. “I think my X-Wing is busted.”
Any other day, you might have warned him about damaging the jet but, as of this moment, you could care less about it. Smiling with relief, you grabbed Poe by his shirt, pulled him close and kissed him without a second thought. Poe placed a gentle hand on your cheek and returned the affectionate token until you pulled back slightly.
“As long as it’s not you.” You whispered. Poe wrapped his arms around your body, staying close – thankful that he had made it home. He knew that they had a new mission to find and retrieve BB-8 but it could wait for a few moments with you.

Tumblr media
“What’s the escape plan?”
At the question, Poe shoots you an odd look that is quite concerning. “Escape plan?”
“Yeah, the escape pla—oh my god,” you say in a hushed whisper, blinking at him. “You don’t have one.”
“I don’t have one yet. Don’t worry, I’ll come up with something quick and then—”
“—and then we get captured, locked up behind bars to rot or until they decide to—”
Your ramblings are cut short when Poe puts a hand over your mouth, gently shushing you. Three stormtroopers approach the stack of oversized crates, shrouded in darkness due to the absence of sun at this late hour.
You freeze and hold your breath, waiting for them to pass. Fortunately, they march right by without problem, oblivious to the fact that you two are hiding behind them.
As happy and relieved as you were when Poe first showed up to free you, you’re now back to thinking that you will die at the hands of the First Order. It’ll only be a matter of time until someone realizes their imprisoned Resistance spy has escaped. You’ll never get out of here, especially without a plan. You’re doomed.
You swallow thickly and try to distract yourself from the dread and panic clawing inside of you. You’re on the verge of hyperventilating. Glancing around wildly, you need to focus on something else. Anything.
Eventually, you have no choice but to settle on having your attention on the pilot’s stupidly handsome face. You keep your eyes on him, inhaling and exhaling deeply to gather your composure. All the while, you wonder— has he always been this good-looking up close? You have never realized how pretty of a shade his dark eyes are or how much they sparkle in the low light. You’ve never seen such thick and curly hair like his, and you have the biggest urge to card your fingers through it.
“Sweetheart, hey—relax,” Poe murmurs when you grow quiet on him, his watchful gaze flickering every now and then to check your surroundings. “Breathe. We got this.”
Poe has long dropped his hand from your mouth, but it remains on your face, cupping your cheek as he assesses you for any injuries. You feel your pulse pick up a beat. You’re sure it’s mainly from the threat of danger you’ve found yourself in. Certainly not because of Poe, your good friend, and crush ever since the day you joined the Resistance.
No, it definitely cannot be that.
“Okay,” you sigh out, nodding. You take a quick glance at the perimeter yourself this time, mostly to hide away from his gaze. “Now what? We can’t stay and hide here forever.”
“You’re right,” Poe agrees. He steps closer to you, his chest brushing against your back as he scans the area with you. “My ship’s past the tree line. Best course of action is to sneak out without alerting anyone. But if things don’t go our way, we use these.”
Slipped into your hand is a blaster. You take a deep breath and tighten your fingers around the grip. You hope it doesn’t come down to a shootout between you, Poe, and the dozens of armed guards patrolling the place. Violence isn’t really your strong suit. That’s why you preferred missions that involved laying low and gathering intel. Too bad your cover got blown on this assignment.
(And yes, you are still sore about that).
“I’m a shit shot, just a heads up,” you warn Poe. You turn around and bump into him, forgetting that there’s barely any space between you. He doesn’t make an effort to step away, and surprisingly, you don’t either.
Poe’s lips curl into a smug grin. He holds up his own weapon in his hand. “And I’m very much not. See, we’re a perfect match. On a scale of 1 to 10, how’d you rate my spur-of-the-moment escape plan?”
You bite back a chuckle and shake your head. Leave it to Poe to distract you from your worries, even if it only lasts a minute. In all seriousness, you have faith in him. He can be overly cocky sometimes, but he’s smart and skillful. You’ve seen and heard what he’s capable of. There’s a reason why you and plenty of others admire the hell out of him.
“I’d give it a 7.5, mainly ’cause I trust in your confidence too much. Plus, it’s not like we have other options.”
“That’s the spirit,” Poe beams. “Sorry if I worried you about not really thinking this through earlier. Once I found out you were being held out here, I kinda just... went for it, y’know? I didn’t have time to waste. I couldn’t let anything happen to you.”
You smile at him, ignoring how your cheeks are warming up against the crisp nighttime air. You’re touched by Poe’s statement. Grateful that you’ve crossed paths with someone like him. Who else would be this reckless and determined to dive into an impromptu rescue—or insane enough to risk their life to save yours?
The thought has your heart feeling tender, but you can’t get caught up in it at this moment. You and Poe need to make it out alive first. Fuck, now the nerves are starting to creep back in.
“Thank you. If we come back to the base both in one piece, dinner’s on me.”
“You mean when we get back,” he corrects. He holds his hand out for yours. “Deal. It’s a date. Alright, you ready?”
Poe’s question almost doesn’t register in your head after he refers to your dinner offer as a date. He doesn’t seem to be joking around. He sounds serious, and you don’t question it. You find yourself more than okay with calling it that.
Clearing your throat, you give Poe a slight nod, ready as you’ll ever be. Both of you have to get out of here alive. Your date depends on it.
Staying undetected as you move through the shadows was easy in the beginning. Few are out on patrol this evening, and when you do encounter someone, Poe manages to evade them. Surely this isn’t his first go-around at something like this.
You do your best not to allow your anxiety of getting caught to cause you to lose focus. The warmth of Poe’s hand in yours helps soothe you, an assurance that if anything goes wrong, you’re not alone.
When you spot your way out, relief floods over you. You tell yourself you’ll be home soon. That you’ll be back in your bed in no time, tucked under the covers, safe and sound. No longer would you be fearing for your life in the way you are right now.
You’re nearly there— the clearing is just within sight. Less than a hundred yards away more and…
Sirens suddenly blare. So loud that they ring in your ears and leave you disoriented for several seconds. The quiet of the night quickly descends into chaos as guards pour out from every which way. The radioed orders your ears pick up are clear and bone-chilling: they are searching for you, and if found, they want you gone permanently.
“There you are, scum,” a trooper snarls from behind, weapon pointed at you. They’re about to pull down on the trigger, but Poe reacts much quicker. The blaster in his hand fires, and the man instantly drops to the ground.
You barely have time to process what happened when Poe grasps your hand tightly, holding onto it uncomfortably tight, but his touch is grounding. The two of you share a knowing look as the sound of distant voices and heavy footsteps grow closer.
“We gotta keep moving. Shoot anyone who’s chasing after us, got it?” He says, his voice a blur over the erratic pounding of your heart.
Poe doesn’t wait for your acknowledgment. He makes a mad dash towards the gate leading out of the compound. He wasn’t lying when he said he was not a shit shot, taking down a few men with such ease— they were no match for him.
Luck seems to be on your side tonight. The moment Poe tugs you past the gate, you run across the field and into the woodlands as fast as possible, the fastest you’ve ever moved. Your muscles are sore, and your head is dizzy. It feels like you can’t get enough air in your lungs.
Still, you run. You run and run, even if you’re starting to think that your legs will give out at any moment. You have to get as far away as you can from the place that has kept you captive. It’s your best bet if you want to survive.
Finally, Poe’s ship comes into view. He glances behind you, and you mirror his action, seeing that the guards have lost track of you in the dark. The relieved smile on your face remains for only a split-second, however. As soon as you turn your head back, you see the stormtrooper emerge from the thick bushes, aiming to shoot at an unsuspecting Poe.
It’s like everything is in slow motion. From you realizing that Poe is in imminent danger to the way you forcefully push him out of the line of fire and draw your blaster.
Adrenaline buzzes through your veins. Your chest rapidly rises and falls. You steady your hand even as it fights to tremble. Without thinking twice, you fire your weapon. The first shot narrowly misses the enemy, but the following two blasts hit them fatally, and they slump to the ground, unmoving.
Luck truly is on your side tonight.
You gasp a breath in surprise when a pair of solid arms suddenly wrap around you, your nerve endings still on high alert after all that has transpired.
Poe’s gentle voice saying your name cuts through your foggy mind, and you meet his gaze. Your heartbeat continues to drum sharply against your ribcage as you stare at him for several moments, tracing the deep, worried lines etched on his face.
You don’t know what comes over you after. You’re unaware of what you’re doing until you’re right in the middle of it.
One second, you’re holding onto Poe—feeling some of the tension in your body seep out upon seeing that he’s okay, he’s unharmed— and the next, your lips are on his, soft and warm. Exactly the way you had imagined they would feel.
Poe doesn’t kiss you back right away; it is the only thing that snaps you out of this haze. Have you misread him all this time? He’s a major flirt, but you thought he was genuine with you. A knot of confusion and embarrassment forms in your stomach. How could you be so wrong? How could you have fucked things up?
You immediately pull away, taking a few stumbling steps back. Poe looks at you wide-eyed, mouth slightly open, but he doesn’t say a word. You glance down at your feet, not wanting to see his expression as you fumble out an apology.
“I-I’m sorry, Poe. I don’t know… I was just—”
You are interrupted when Poe lets out a breathless chuckle. He closes the short distance you had put between the two of you, his hands cupping your face, fingers stroking your cheeks ever so gently.
“Don’t be sorry,” he whispers. “I wasn’t expecting you to do that. It did feel very nice, though.”
Poe’s breath fanning warm over your skin causes yours to hitch. Before you can respond, he slowly leans in and recaptures your lips in a sweet kiss. Your heart stutters and skips for a whole new reason now. Something more electrifying replaces the fight or flight sensation surging within you, making you light-headed in the best possible way.
The kiss abruptly ends at the sound of dried leaves rustling and branches snapping from different directions. You notice faraway lights becoming brighter, no doubt more stormtroopers closing in on you and Poe.
“I’d like to keep kissing you, but we gotta go,” he laughs, nodding towards the ship. “The sooner we get back, the sooner we can go on our date.”
You grin in agreement and place your hand into Poe’s hand. Being with him makes you feel alive, like you can handle almost anything the universe throws at you. You could get used to this.
“Take me home, flyboy.”

Starlight Shadows:
Tumblr media
Poe dameron x reader
(Enemies to Lovers)
————————————————————————
The Resistance base buzzed with activity as you navigated through the corridors, a scowl etched on your face. You had just been assigned to the squadron led by none other than Poe Dameron, the so-called "best pilot in the Resistance." The thought made you roll your eyes. You had heard the stories, seen the praise, and it only fueled your irritation. Your encounters with him so far had been less than pleasant, to say the least.
You reached the briefing room and pushed the door open, immediately spotting Poe leaning casually against the table, chatting animatedly with his team. He glanced up as you entered, his dark eyes narrowing slightly.
"Ah, if it isn't the new recruit," he said, a smirk playing on his lips. "Welcome to the squad, Y/N."
You crossed your arms, ignoring the warmth of his gaze. "I'm not here for pleasantries, Dameron. Just tell me what I need to do."
His smirk faded, replaced by a more serious expression. "Alright, we'll be heading out on a reconnaissance mission tomorrow. I need everyone sharp and ready."
You nodded curtly and took a seat, tuning out the rest of his briefing. As the meeting concluded, you couldn't help but notice the way his eyes lingered on you, a mixture of curiosity and something else you couldn't quite place.
————————————————————————
The mission the next day was intense. Flying alongside Poe, you had to admit, he was good—really good. But that didn't change the fact that you found his arrogance grating. As you landed back at the base, you could feel his eyes on you.
"You did well out there," he said, walking over to your ship.
You shrugged, wiping sweat from your brow. "Just doing my job."
Poe chuckled, leaning against your ship. "You know, you could try being a little nicer. We're on the same team, after all."
You shot him a glare. "Just because we're on the same team doesn't mean I have to like you, Dameron."
He raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. "Fair enough. But it wouldn't hurt to try."
You rolled your eyes and brushed past him, determined not to let him get under your skin.
————————————————————————
A few weeks later, you found yourself on a covert mission with Poe. The objective was to gather intel from a First Order base, and the tension between you two was palpable. As you snuck through the corridors, your heart raced with both adrenaline and annoyance.
"Stay close," Poe whispered, glancing back at you.
"I know how to handle myself," you retorted, but you did as he said.
The mission took a turn for the worse when you were discovered. Blaster fire erupted around you, and you found yourself pinned down with Poe behind a crate.
"This way!" he shouted, grabbing your hand and pulling you down a side corridor.
You ran together, the heat of the battle making you hyper-aware of his presence. Eventually, you found a hiding spot, panting heavily as you caught your breath.
"Why did you do that?" you demanded, glaring at him.
Poe looked at you incredulously. "I wasn't going to leave you behind!"
"I can take care of myself!" you snapped, feeling a mixture of anger and something else—gratitude?
Poe sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I know you can. But we're stronger together."
You were about to retort when the sound of footsteps approached. You both held your breath, waiting until the danger passed. In the silence, you found yourself looking at him differently.
————————————————————————
Over the next few weeks, your interactions with Poe began to change. The missions you went on together forced you to rely on each other, and slowly, your animosity started to fade. You found yourself laughing at his jokes, even though you tried to hide it.
One evening, you were working on your ship when Poe approached, holding two cups of something steaming.
"Peace offering?" he said, handing you one.
You took it cautiously. "What's this for?"
He shrugged, sitting down next to you. "Just thought we could talk. You know, without all the yelling."
You smirked, taking a sip. "Alright, Dameron. Talk."
He chuckled, and for the first time, you saw a softness in his eyes. "I just wanted to say that I respect you, Y/N. You're a damn good pilot, and... I was wrong about you."
You looked at him, surprised. "Thanks, Poe. I guess... I was wrong about you too."
————————————————————————
As time passed, your relationship with Poe continued to evolve. You found yourself seeking his company, and he seemed to enjoy yours as well. One night, after a particularly grueling mission, you sat together in the mess hall, sharing a quiet moment.
"Why did you join the Resistance?" he asked suddenly, his eyes searching yours.
You hesitated, then sighed. "I lost my family to the First Order. I wanted to make sure no one else had to go through that."
Poe nodded, his expression somber. "I'm sorry. I can't imagine how hard that must have been."
You looked at him, feeling a connection you hadn't expected. "What about you? Why did you join?"
He smiled softly. "For the same reason, I guess. To fight for what's right. To protect the people I care about."
In that moment, you realized that you and Poe weren't so different after all. And maybe, just maybe, there was room for something more between you.
————————————————————————
One evening, you found yourself alone with Poe in the hangar, working on your ships. The silence was comfortable, but you could feel the tension building.
"Y/N," Poe said suddenly, breaking the silence. "There's something I need to tell you."
You looked up, your heart pounding. "What is it?"
He took a deep breath, stepping closer. "I know we didn't start off on the right foot, but... I can't stop thinking about you. You're brave, strong, and you challenge me in ways I never expected."
You felt your breath catch, his words hitting you harder than you anticipated. "Poe, I..."
Before you could finish, he closed the distance between you, his lips brushing against yours in a tentative kiss. You froze for a moment, then responded, your hands finding their way to his shoulders.
When you finally pulled away, you looked into his eyes, seeing nothing but sincerity. "I feel the same way, Poe."
He smiled, a look of relief washing over his face. "Then let's see where this goes. Together."
————————————————————————
The next few months were a whirlwind of missions and moments stolen in between. Your relationship with Poe deepened, but it wasn't without its challenges. The war against the First Order was relentless, and there were times when you feared for his safety—and he for yours.
One night, after a particularly dangerous mission, you found Poe in the medbay, a bandage wrapped around his arm.
"Poe!" you exclaimed, rushing to his side. "What happened?"
He gave you a reassuring smile. "Just a scratch. Nothing I can't handle."
You frowned, taking his hand. "You scared me."
He squeezed your hand gently. "I'm sorry. But I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere."
You nodded, feeling a sense of comfort in his words. "Just promise me you'll be careful."
"I promise," he said, leaning in to kiss your forehead.
As the war intensified, you and Poe found yourselves at the forefront of the battle. One mission in particular changed everything. You were sent to infiltrate a First Order base and retrieve crucial information. It was dangerous, and the odds were against you.
"Are you sure about this?" Poe asked, his worry evident.
You nodded, determination in your eyes. "We have to. This could turn the tide in our favor."
He sighed, pulling you into a tight embrace. "Just promise me you'll come back."
"I promise," you whispered, kissing him softly.
The mission was a success, but not without casualties. You returned to the base, battered and bruised, but alive. Poe was waiting for you, his relief palpable.
"You did it," he said, pulling you into his arms.
"We did it," you corrected, smiling through your exhaustion.
The war dragged on, but the hope for victory grew stronger. In the midst of the chaos, Poe had something important planned. One evening, he led you to a quiet spot overlooking the stars.
"Poe, what's this about?" you asked, curious.
He took a deep breath, his eyes shining with emotion. "Y/N, I know this isn't the most ideal time, but I can't wait any longer. I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
You felt tears well up in your eyes as he got down on one knee, holding out a small, simple ring.
"Will you marry me?" he asked, his voice filled with hope.
You nodded, unable to speak. "Yes, Poe. A thousand times yes."
He slipped the ring on your finger, pulling you into a passionate kiss. In that moment, the war, the danger, everything faded away, leaving only the two of you and the love you shared

WORTH THE WAIT | Poe Dameron x Reader
Tumblr media
Request: my sweet @happyhauntt says: and to counteract the fact that my last request was sad as fuck, here's a happy one!!! a wee fic based on the song 'i guess i'm in love' by clinton kane, and this one feels like it should be for poe or steven!! enjoy!!
Description: Poe tries to help reader overcome her fear of flying by giving her something good to remember
length: 2.1k
warnings: mention of puke (none just feeling of nausea) mention of fear of heights?
authors note: yes I did listen to Romantic Flight from HTTYD when I wrote this and yes this did heal the part of me that always wanted to be flown through the clouds like this. also sorry this is so late things have been HECTIC
Tumblr media
Poe really hoped she liked his surprise.
There were very few things that he knew he was good at besides flying; knowing exactly how to tell her just how deeply he felt for her even after all this time being one of them. He knew he stumbled over flirtatious lines, not at all like the bachelor he once was, that his chest still pounded at the thought of her just the same as it did when he was soaring through the stratosphere, his stomach flipping when they kissed as if he’d done four barrel rolls on an X-Wing.
He knew he was in uncharted waters being so far in a committed relationship, that his usual rendezvous' had lasted little more than a few weeks at most, but that was entirely in the past. No one had even come close since the day he met her.
She had been his mission once. Captured on a First Order ship, Leia had ordered him and his squadron to go rescue her, had said she was some lord’s daughter of a dying planet wanted by Ren for information about her father. He had heard the stories of how his resistance leader had come to be kidnapped from Alderaan when she was young, and figuring she was just screamingly empathetic for the girl, he had done exactly as he had been told.
He’d had no clue that his mission would become his entire life within a few short months.
“I feel like this is a little unfair,” She teased, his hands over her eyes as he led her out to the hangar, the lone sun on their planet lowering behind the horizon, “You make me wait all day for my present, and I can’t even see it,”
“Have a little patience, Princess,” Poe said, his lips drawing into a small smile as he felt her huff beneath his palms, “I know you’re used to getting what you want in your palace, but you’re in my town now, baby,”
She chuckled, shaking her head as he directed her down the stairs. He wasn’t entirely lying. After she’d been rescued from Ren’s grasp, her planet had quickly declared its allegiance to the resistance and she had been appointed as one of Leia’s advisors. Whether it was her quick wit, or the love she seemed to drench every single person with, no matter who they were or where they had come from, Poe wasn’t exactly sure what it was that made her such a good leader, other than the fact she was so entirely herself it was hard not to favour her; a rare quality of politicians he'd often teased her.
She gave a sniff through her nose, trying to give herself some kind of hint as to what her gift was. “Smells like… oil? Did BB-8 leak again?”
“Just wait, one more step in front of you,” Poe replied, his eyes trained carefully on her high heeled steps over the concrete. His stomach somersaulted as he wondered for the last time if this was a good idea, but he couldn't very well lead her all the way back out of there empty handed. Reminding himself it was her, and she would never spit anything kind back in his face, he released her face gently, “tada!”
He watched her shoulders tense under the jacket he’d given her because he worried she’d be cold in the night air, and he could tell her mind was racing a million miles a second trying to make sense of what it was he was showing her.
His T-70 starfighter. The only thing, he often joked, that could ever rival her for the title of his beloved.
“Poe…” Her voice trailed off, unsure but not wanting to seem rude, “Poe, I can’t-”
“Baby, hear me out,” He cut in, knowing she was never going to be jumping for joy before he could explain, “I promise you, nothing bad will happen while I’m there,”
“Poe,” She said hesitantly, as he came around the front of her to see her worried expression that made him cradle her face with his warm hands almost immediately.
“They don’t call me the best pilot in the galaxy for nothing,” He smiled at her cheekily, and he was relieved to see her crack a grin then, though the fright lingered in her eyes that rolled at him.
He’d known since the day he’d rescued her that she had a fear of flying; when he’d had to sit her on his lap in that very same cockpit so they could escape the base together, when she’d screamed bloody murder and held his hands so tight he worried he might lose circulation.
Not the best of first introductions, and not quite how he’d imagined his two greatest loves meeting. Which was why he wanted to change her experience of the whole thing.
She gave him a tentative glance, and he fretted for a moment that it had all been a mistake; that his kind act coming from a good place had been one giant heap of selfish bantha fodder that he felt stupid for even suggesting it. But then she took a deep breath, her hands coming up over his own on her cheeks and squeezing them gently.
“Certainly don’t call you the most humble pilot in the galaxy, Dameron,” She said with a tease, moving past him to head for the jet, “Alright, help me up. My carriage awaits,”
He beamed so hard he thought his cheeks might explode, rushing past her to lift himself up onto the right arm the way he had done so many, many times before.
“My lady,” He stretched out his hand, all but yanking her up most of the way to where he kneeled, and he was glad he’d told her to wear her cargos and not the pretty dress she’d showed him.
Pulling herself up to a sit, she looked unsurely at the metalwork beneath them, “You’re sure it can hold two?”
“It did before, didn't it?” He countered back, hoisting himself into the cockpit that felt like a second home to him, his body sliding into his seat like a hand into a glove. He parted his thighs, granting her a space of her own, and patted the leather chair, “Actually, don't think about that. Hop in,”
She paused, uncertainty written across her face that cracked when she saw the hopeful gleam in his eyes, brown hues that had always seemed to watch her with pure adoration. She had always struggled to say no to him, especially when he looked like that.
Slipping between his legs, she hated to admit that she found herself rather comfy enveloped between his body and the dash.
“You sure we’re safe?” She asked once more, and his arms slid around her to grab the wheel in his right hand, the left pulling her back against his warm body that made her relax just that little bit. He kissed the side of her head, resting his temple against hers for a second.
“You know I would never put you in harms way, sweetheart,” He said, all trace of jovial teasing gone as he kissed next to her ear and pushed the button to lock the glass canopy over their heads. It slowly lowered down, hissing into a click as it shut, and he felt her shuffle in closer to his chest, “There’s something up there I really, really want to show you. Okay?”
She looked up at him over her shoulder, his eyes twinkling with excitement at seeing her in his seat, his co-pilot for the evening.
How could she ever resist?
“Okay,” She nodded, tugging his arms over her shoulders like a seat belt as if strapping herself in for the ride, “Okay, I’m ready,”
He chuckled, praying to the maker one last time that this would work, and switching the ignition up to a low rumble.
The jet rolled forward slowly, and he wheeled it around to a clearing in runway that made her think he’d told everyone to take the evening off just so they could have their solo flight.
“Okay, baby, I’m going to have to go fast at this bit, so you might want to hold on tight,” He warned her, and he felt her grab onto his thighs with tight fists, “That’s it, I got you, you’re safe,”
Not giving her much time to overthink what was coming, he floored the gas, flicking a few of the levers above their heads. She sucked in a breath, her knuckles almost turning white with grip, “Poe,”
“I promise you’re safe, baby,” He reassured, forcing the throttle down and they jumped forward as the engines kicked in. He would have been in the air by now if it had just been him, would probably already be doing a loop-de-loop, but he didn’t want to terrify her before they had even really started.
She squealed, a muffled version of what he knew she was probably holding back as they started lifting off the ground, and he sped up even more, the g-force throwing her back against him, and he flicked pressed the switch on the dash to start retracting the wheels into the underbelly.
“Poe, I’m scared,”
“You got it, I got you,” He removed one of his hands off the wheel and looped it around her waist to keep her secure, “You’re doing so well, baby,”
It was then she made the mistake of taking a peak outside, seeing their base quickly becoming little more than a speck beneath them as they sped off upwards into the atmosphere, “Oh my stars, we’re so high,”
He chuckled, kissing her hairline tenderly, “That’s a good thing, means we’re not in danger of crashing into trees or mountains or-”
“Poe!” She slapped his thigh, scrunching her eyes shut, “I can’t look, I’m going to puke,”
His resolve wavered for a minute, and he made the impromptu decision to yank the steering wheel down, forcing them to take a quick turn up even higher into the air, to which she tucked her head towards his jaw so she didn’t have to watch.
He wondered if he was going to regret such a bold move, he felt her whimper against his skin and Poe cursed the whole concept of ‘Go big or go home’ that he had been going for.
Until-
They burst through the clouds, the dusk air that had been growing dark under the smog disappearing as they cut in a straight line up, further and further until the cottony slew of powder white clouds blanketed beneath them, the way they had for him so many times before. The sun was still out this far up in the aerospace, syrupy orange, and almost pink as it met the pillowed floor, like they had flown right into a meadow of blankets and warmth.
“Poe, I tried to be brave, really I did, for you, but my nerves are shot-”
“Baby, look,” He cut her off, engaging the auto-pilot and moving his warm hands down her arms softly to hold her fingers in his own. The X-Wing evened out, the force barely feeling like a pull at their bodies anymore and more like a lingering jitter in their skin that could so easily be passed off as the engine.
“I can’t, I feel sick-” She protested, pushing her nose into his neck, and he felt her hands shaking with nerves that he gently stroked away. He chuckled, the sound reverberating over the apples of her cheeks.
“Just trust me, look,” Poe said, and she took a deep breath, as if holding back another complaint, peeling herself away from him just the smallest amount to glimpse outside the star-fighter.
Her eyes widened, sitting upright almost immediately as she saw the technicolor that had been a dull beige before, the world she’d known for over two years entirely gone, buried beneath the silkened clouds. Her mouth hung open, eyes darting over the teracotta hues, down to the valley of puffy clouds beneath that didn’t seem nearly as threatening as she’d imagined.
She was silent for a moment, and Poe had feeling that was atleast a good thing, but he was known to second guess himself when it came down to her.
Watching her expression with a besotted gaze, the sun’s heat glowing her cheeks with a honey kiss, he ran his fingertips over her palms, “Do you like it?”
“Poe, it’s-” She swallowed, not once ripping her eyes away from the oil painting infront of her, “You get to see this every day?”
He laughed, dipping his nose in her neck and leaving a loving kiss there, “Pretty much, yeah. I told you, it’s a whole other world up here,”
“How do you ever come down, I mean it’s, it’s,” She stammered, shuffling on the edge of the seat to take it all in even more, “It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen,”
“I have my reasons that are pretty compelling actually,” He smiled, eyes washing over her face, trying to commit that expression to memory because there were very few times they were allowed to have something good in the middle of a war. But this was it. She was it. His little bit of goodness that had been so worth the wait, “Happy Anniversary, honey,”

Poe Dameron x G!N Reader
Rating : M
Wordcount : 2300 (ish)
Warnings : Cutesy cute fluff, body painting (kinda I guess 😂), lil bit of innuendo, kinda semi public make out, brief illusion/discussion on public sex (doesn't happen), rated M purely just for a lil sexual content.
Summary : You always kiss Poe good morning, but on the day you don't, he's going to make you pay the debt with interest.
A/N: yes I know X-Wing paint probably isn't safe to be on your skin. No I don't care. Let me live fanfiction how I like 😂
@dailyreverie - I hope you enjoy this silly little story!
Un-beta'd so sorry for the mistakes

—-------
You squeak in shock, dropping your paintbrush to the ground as a pair of arms suddenly slip around your waist, relaxing when you hear a familiar chuckle from behind you.
"Good morning," Poe mumbles, burying his face in your neck as he cuddles you tightly against his chest.
"Good afternoon," you tease with a giggle, hugging his arms briefly, before you loosen his grip enough to turn and face him. His hair is still a ruffled mess, and there's stubble on his chin that tells he's thrown on some clothes and come straight to you from bed. Your heart flutters a little at the sweetness.
"You know you don't have to do this?" He gestures to his X-Wing that you'd been repainting for the morning, using whatever leftover paints you could find. After the latest battle the paintwork had taken some heavy damage, and since Poe didn't have time to do it himself, you had offered to fix it up for him, if only to stop his sad grimace everytime he looked at the ship. You were sure of two things in life, that Poe loved you, and that he might just love his ship a little more.
"I know but I'm enjoying it. It's kinda therapeutic," you shrug. "How's your day been? Well the bit you've been awake for," you tease with a grin.
Poe sighs, "not a great start to be honest. I woke up in an empty bed and realised we didn't kiss each other good morning."
He does a fairly good job of trying to look unhappy, which you are sure he probably is, at least a little bit, but there's a tiny twitch at the corner of his lips that tells you he's teasing.
"I seem to remember that's because you were still asleep. I think there's a word for people that do things when you're asleep," you wink at him and Poe gives a soft laugh, shaking his head.
"You should have woken me up," he complains with a pout. "I wouldn't have minded."
You snort with laughter.
"Now we both know that's not true! Have you ever met you when someone wakes you up? Maker, I'd rather face down the First Order alone."
"What are you talking about? I'm sure I'm absolutely delightful," Poe grins at you, clearly knowing full well he is not in any way delightful when his sleep is interrupted. Thankfully waking him wasn't something you had needed to do very often.
Whether it was for missions, strategy ideas he needed to note down, or more recently nightmares he couldn't stop, Poe was usually awake before you, no matter how early you woke up. Morning kisses had become somewhat of a routine, and if you were honest, you had missed that this morning. But Poe needed the sleep and so when you awoke to the pilot still dozing beside you, you had decided to allow him the rest. In fact, you had taken things a little further to make sure he would stay asleep for as long as he needed.
Poe had been working long into the night training new recruits, fixing resistance ships, trying to get them into some semblance of fighting condition again, and generally running himself into the ground. Almost every night for a week he had barely collapsed into bed before he was up again and back to it. The circles under his eyes had become worryingly dark, and no matter how many times you begged him to slow down and take a break, he insisted he couldn't.
So while the pilot was sleeping you had crept out of bed, and taken matters into your own hands to ensure he got a decent amount of sleep, at least for today.
Watching Poe fish out his watch from his pocket, the one he always puts on the nightstand when he comes to bed with his alarm set, you bite your lip nervously.
"I would have been awake but somehow I seem to have lost the battery from this. No idea how considering it would have had to come unscrewed, be removed and screw the back in again. Pretty impressive technology to do all that by itself without me noticing, don't you think?" He muses, holding it up between you.
"Poe," you start, ready to apologise and explain.
"I do feel better though now. I guess I really needed the extra couple of hours," he interupts with a soft smile. The worry dissipates just as quickly as it had coiled in your belly.
"You aren't mad?"
"Why would I be mad?" He gives you a purely boyish grin, raising an eyebrow. "Wait… you don't...you don't happen to know anything about this do you?"
You shake your head, "Nope. Absolutely nothing. Haven't touched it, haven't even seen it. When did you even get that? I've no idea what it is," you giggle, playing along.
Poe hums thoughtfully, regarding you with playful suspicion before he slides the temporarily useless watch back into his pocket.
"Well, if you do happen to see the battery anywhere, I would like it back, eventually."
You nod in confirmation, said battery suddenly feeling like it was burning a hole in your pocket. "Duly noted. I'll keep my eyes open,"
"Good," Poe nods, knowing he will find his watch magically fixed and back on the nightstand by tomorrow morning. "Now, I do need to address this kiss issue. You now owe me a kiss good morning, a kiss to say thank you for coming all the way across here to get the good morning kiss, a kiss to make up for missing the first kiss, and," he pauses, looking at his wrist to check his watch, before he remembers he isn't wearing it anymore. "I'm sure by the time we are done with those you'll owe me your afternoon missed you kiss."
"That's a lot of kisses all in one go." You sigh dramatically, giving him a serious look. "Do you think you can handle that all at once? I wouldn't want to overwhelm you."
Poe gives you a look of warning, one that tells you he'll be bringing that back up later, if only to prove how easily he can overwhelm you.
Taking your hand he all but drags you around the back of the X-Wing, where the noise of people coming and going seems more muted. It's nowhere near private, but it's about as private as you can get with the limited amount of time you have together.
"Up you go," he instructs, gesturing to the crates you had stacked into steps in order to reach the higher parts of the ship on this side. You blink at him in confusion, unsure if you've heard him correctly above the noise, but he simply gestures again for you to go up. Curiously you do as he asks, wondering what he's up to now.
Poe carefully follows until you reach the top. It isn't high but you notice Poe keeps one hand on your hip, just in case you do wobble.
When you reach the top he spins you to face him, before backing you up and pressing your back against the X-wing, pinning your body to the metal with his. Maker it sends heat flashing across your skin to have him so close. You realise this is why he wanted you up here, out of the way, unable to escape making the payment he demands.
"Kisses. Now."
"You're so cute when you're impatient," you giggle. Moving your hand to hold the side of his neck you pull his lips to yours, unable to wait any longer yourself.
You take your time with the kiss, kissing his top and bottom lip before you fully kiss him, your other hand slotting your fingers into the belt loops of his pants, holding him close. Poe pouts when you pull away before he's anywhere near enough of you.
"Good morning," you grin.
Before he has a chance to reply you press your lips to his a second time. This time you kiss him a little longer, but only long enough for him to run his tongue along your lower lip, seeking to deepen the kiss. You pull away with a devilish grin, ignoring his unimpressed look.
"I'm sorry you had to walk 60 yards to get your good morning kiss. Must be a terrible time for you with all those long steps across the yard," you tease sarcastically.
"Less talking, more paying kisses," Poe grumbles, his cheeks already flushed, his fingers digging into your hips as he grips you tightly. Along with Poe's long hours came the fact that you didn't have much awake time to spend together, and clearly it was starting to become a struggle for you both.
With a grin you drag his mouth back to yours, the kiss escalating faster this time, Poe's body pressing tighter against you. You kiss him hard this time, allowing your tongue to dip into his mouth, pulling a soft groan from the pilot who's turned to putty in your hands. You tangle your fingers in his curls and tug gently, causing him to nip your bottom lip in shock. He gets his revenge by slotting his thigh between your legs, making you gasp.
"Poe, people might see," you whimper against his mouth, desperately fighting back the urge to grind down against his leg.
"Let them see the consequences of missed kisses," he shrugs, staying exactly where he is. "Sooner you pay what's owed the sooner I might let you go."
You bite your lip, picking up on the might in his words. "What if I like being right here?"
Poe lets out a groan, pressing you harder against the ship. You're both breathing a little heavier now, your heart beating wildly in your chest.
"Don't tempt me. The extra hours sleep have given me a lot of energy," he whispers in your ear.
Oh well now you want nothing more than to tempt him, to drag his mouth to yours and let him devour you. But you know deep down now isn't the time, or the place.
Still, you can't quite quell the lustful thoughts that fill your mind.
"I owe you one more kiss," you offer temptingly.
"Trust me, I want to kiss you again so bad but if I do, I think the resistance is going to see a lot more of you than you want them to," Poe laughs softly, running his nose up the column of your neck as he holds you close. "Perhaps we need to keep a log and you can pay later?"
While you nod in agreement you still can't help stealing a quick kiss from him. It's nothing more than a fleeting brush of your lips against his, but Poe's smile lights up his face at the gesture. Both of you have missed the time to be close like this, to have the energy for this playfulness.
When he finally lets you step away from the ship, after another two quick kisses, he suddenly bursts out laughing. You frown, once more confused before he spins you around to see your own body print in the paint that has clearly not quite dried.
"Oh no!" You groan, reaching around to feel the wet paint on your back. Bringing your hand back around you see the black coating your fingers and let out a curse. "Shit. I'll have repaint it!"
"Leave it there," Poe grins, "It's very artistic." He tilts his head, as though admiring it like a painting. "Yeah, I like it. Especially this bit," he gestures to the perfect imprint of your ass against the ship.
"It looks a mess now," you sigh sadly. Your intention had been to make the ship look better, not worse.
"Actually, I was just thinking we could come back tonight and do your front on the other side," Poe shrugs. You feel heat creeping up your neck at his suggestion.
"Poe, you are not flying around with my body imprints on your ship!"
"Yeah," he nods entirely ignoring you, "maybe we could do them in a different colour? I'm sure we have some more orange paint laying around. Could paint all my favourite parts." He wriggles his eyebrows at you and you try not to laugh.
"Absolutely not!"
Poe sighs, resigned that you aren't enamoured by the idea of the entire resistance seeing you plastered against his ship, before he grins in an all too familiar, worrying way.
"What about if it was somewhere only I would see? Like the cockpit? Little bit of paint on some, select areas," he squeezes your ass making you jump with a squeak. "We could put it on the pilot's seat. Consider it interest for failing to pay your kisses on time."
You turn to stare at him as he wipes the paint he's gotten on himself from touching you, on the side of his pants, trying to work out if he's serious. He can't really want you to leave an imprint of your ass in his ship. But when he meets your gaze he's deadly serious and you burst into laughter. It's absolutely absurd that of all the tokens you could give him to travel with, that's what he wants.
"Is that a yes?" Poe laughs. "It'll be fun. I'll make it fun," he promises, his tone dropping to imply exactly the kind of fun he means.
You really should be considering how little the cockpit is, how uncomfortable it might be to squeeze you both in, how impractical his suggestion is, but the amusement is so bright in his eyes it obliterates anything else. You don't want to crush his little fantasy just yet, so you laugh with a nod.
"Alright Flyboy, you got a deal. Now go fetch me the paint so I can fix this." You gesture to the smudged mess of your imprint.
"One second," Poe pauses, staring at it hard "just committing it to memory."
You roll your eyes at him.
"If I push you off, I could say it was an accident," you threaten. Poe laughs looking down at the floor before back at you. He launches himself the crates, easily jumping down, landing gracefully on his feet and grinning up at you. He takes a dramatic bow, one that shouldn't be as cute as it is.
"By the way," he shouts as he disappears around the ship to retrieve your paint can, "you owe me another kiss for fetching you this."
Maker, at this rate you'll never get the job done

Fandom: Star Wars
Day 21 Prompt: "Just in case this doesn't work."
Summary: Poe and his SO are supposed to be completing a simple, subtle reconnaissance mission, but a complication might make the 'subtle' part challenging.
Word Count: 1,073
Category: Fluff
Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
"This is... not good."
My boyfriend, Poe Dameron, and I stood shoulder to shoulder, tucked into our hiding spot as we watched First Order troops crawl all over the ship we were supposed to be escaping on. We'd come to this world on an intelligence gathering mission. Unfortunately for us, we apparently hadn't gone completely unnoticed.
Poe shrugged, nudging his shoulder against mine. "I don't know, it could be worse. We could've been in the ship when they swarmed it."
I huffed a laugh. "I guess that's true. So what do we do now?"
"Hmm. Did you see any other ships around here that we could take off with instead?"
"Not unless you count the ships the First Order came in on. And somehow I don't think we're gonna have much luck taking one of those."
"Then we need a distraction. Something big enough to draw them away from our ship, so big that we actually have half a shot at getting past those troopers."
Poe and I hummed in thought, each scanning our surroundings and staring off into space to try to get some inspiration. We'd spent enough time studying maps of this place and actually combing through it in the past few hours that if there was anything to be done, we should've been able to figure it out.
My eyes wandered over the door we'd just come from, leading to the heart of the building, including its power core.
A crazy, stupid, terrible idea hit me like lightning. I turned to Poe and found him staring back, the same spark of insanity I'd fallen in love with glimmering behind his eyes.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" he asked, a manic grin growing slowly on his face. I shook my head.
"I kind of hate to say this, but yeah, I think I am."
"Well then, what are we waiting for?"
A better, less dangerous idea, I thought, but didn't say it out loud. Poe and I had done and survived all kinds of crazy things in our time with the Resistance, both together and apart. If we'd made it this far, then odds were good that we'd keep making it. Right?
As one, we turned and headed in the opposite direction from our ship, back into the heart of the facility we'd stolen information from. With the discovery of our ship, security had surely been tightened, but we still made it to our target.
The building's energy core hummed before us like a giant glowing weak point. If someone were to blow it up, they'd certainly cause a distraction worthy of attention from a bunch of First Order stormtroopers.
"You know, I feel like it's concerning that we're so in sync about stuff like this," I said as Poe and I moved around the room, quickly identifying weak points where we could do the most damage with just a few charges.
"I think we should be more concerned about why you bring explosive charges with you every time we go on a mission."
I shrugged. "It's working out for us so far, isn't it? You never know when a fast and easy sabotage method might come in handy in our line of work."
"I... guess I can't argue with that," said Poe with a chuckle. We worked together to place the charges, then I hooked up a remote detonator while Poe watched the door. Once everything was set, I gave him a thumbs up and went to meet him by the door. We ducked and dodged through the ever-increasing security measures, thankfully, finally making it back to our hiding spot in front of our ship.
It seemed like another group or two of storm troopers had made their way over, and I knew it was only a matter of time until they started expanding their search radius. It wouldn't take them long to find Poe and I if we didn't do something soon.
"Alright, should we go for it?" I asked, holding the detonator up in question to Poe. Suddenly, this plan felt a lot riskier than before we'd actually been ready to implement it.
"Hold on, one more thing first."
With that, he wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me to him. He kissed me, hard, and after a second's surprise I melted into him, kissing him back just as hard. After a few long, savored moments, Poe pulled away, leaving me a little breathless as I subconsciously trailed after him. He grinned.
"Just in case this doesn't work," he said by way of explanation. I just smiled and shook my head.
"Get ready to run to the ship and go like hell, Flyboy. Once I press this button, it's mostly on you to get us out of here. I'll watch our backs."
Poe winked at me, and I smiled back at him. I took a deep breath, trying to steel myself as best I could, then pushed the button on the detonator.
A moment later, an explosion rocked the building. All the stormtroopers in front of us dropped what they were doing to look up in shock, and as the chain reaction of the explosion continued, they started shouting and rushing towards the building to try to do something. As a result, our ship was left almost completely unguarded.
In perfect sync, Poe and I took off running. I let him get a bit ahead of me, then turned as I ran, ready to shoot at anyone who tried to stop our escape.
Lucky for us, the distraction had worked even better than planned. With a First Order facility literally going up in smoke, even the few people left on the other ships in the yard were too distracted to notice Poe and I taking off until it was basically too late to stop us.
Once we made it to Hyperspace headed back for Resistance HQ, I let myself relax all the way. I put a hand on Poe's shoulder and kissed him on the cheek, then flopped back in my seat to watch the stars streak by.
"Nice work," I sighed. "We should start giving classes on pulling off insane shit like that."
"I hate to break it to you, but we're not out of the woods yet, sweetheart."
I frowned. "What do you mean?"
"One of us still has to explain the mess we left behind us to General Organa."
"Not it!"

All of The Girls You Loved Before - Poe Dameron
Tumblr media
A/N: Hello, hello! I was working on Return to Me and was inspired to write this fic. Enjoy!!
TS Prompt #5: All of The Girls You Loved Before
Pairing: Poe Dameron x Reader Word Count: 1.8k Synopsis: On a trip back home, Poe and the reader are greeted by blasts from Poe's past, in the form of many ex girlfriends.
The Sebastian, the longest standing bar in Poe's town on Yavin 4, had not changed at all. Basically a large patio, it looked out onto the thick forest surrounding them, cloaked in the dark of night. Crickets chirped and frogs sang in a dull hum. Lights were strung up around the perimeter. It hadn't changed, and seeing it again felt like home.
Poe takes it all in, a smile on his face. There were times when he thought he'd never have reason to smile again, much less, visit the bar he had frequented so often throughout the years. He feels you looking at him and turns to see you smiling, too.
"Can I get you a drink?" he asks.
"Please."
"I'll be right back."
The patio is crowded as he makes his way through the strum of people. There is music playing from the corner, but he can't make out the tune over the hum of chatter. It seems that the two of you were not alone in your selection of a celebratory location.
The First Order was finally gone. What remained, was perhaps more daunting. Poe had a future in front of him, something he was never positive he would see. The possibilities were endless, and it excited and scared the hell out of him.
He tries to stay focused in the moment, and at this present moment, he wants to drink until he is silly with you, in a place he loves.
At the bar, he places your typical orders.
"I thought that was you," the bartender says. So distracted by the scene around him, Poe hadn't noticed who was tending the bar.
"Annie!" he says in surprise.
"Been a while since I've seen you here," she says, getting started on the drinks.
"It's been a while since I've been home at all," he says. He takes a moment to take her in, the long dark hair in a tight braid, her mouth twisted in a knot as she focuses on the drink in hand. "You look good," he says.
"So do you," she says with a smile. "Who's that with you?"
Poe follows her gaze across the room. You are standing off to the side, looking a little overwhelmed, but happy. He smiles.
"Y/N," he answers.
"She's not from here."
"No," he says. Annie lets out a tut of breath as she slides the drinks over to him. "What?"
"Just surprised you brought her home, and here, of all places," Annie says with a grin.
"Why wouldn't I?"
"Given your history, is all. Figured you wouldn't want her to know about your past conquests," she says. Poe opens his mouth and closes it a moment after.
"What do I owe you?"
"On the house. Thank you for all you did," she says with a nod.
"I'm just one man," he says with a shrug. "But thank you."
He makes his way back towards you, his mind thinking about the past Annie mentioned. You aren't stupid, he knows. You know about his dating history, at least within the Resistance. But there is more, much more, that you don't know about.
"Hey," you say, taking a drink from his hand as he approaches. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong," he says, snaking a hand around your waist to kiss your forehead. You smile up at him and clink your drinks with his.
"This place is just how you described."
"It hasn't changed at all."
"Any fun stories?" you ask, "Wild nights? Quickies in the bathroom?"
Poe laughs, shaking his head, "None that I remember, or that I would bore you with."
"I don't buy that for a second," you say with a laugh. "Just so happens, I already did hear one story about you."
"How?" he asks.
"That girl over there," you say, nodding across the way. There is a group of girls next to a table, laughing loudly. Poe's gaze locks with one of them, and he recognizes her instantly.
"She talked to you?" he asks, his voice rising slightly in his growing panic.
"Was she not supposed to?" you ask with a laugh, drawing his gaze back to you. "She was sweet."
"What did she say?"
"Just that you met here on a night like this," you say with a shrug, "She said you were fun." There's a playful grin on your face, but Poe has to force himself to match it.
"Well . . ."
"Do you remember her being so much fun?" you tease.
"Not particularly," he says lowly.
"Hey," you say, grabbing his arm, "I'm just teasing you."
"I know."
"So laugh," you say, bumping his hip with yours. He gives you a smile, but that's all he can bring himself to do.
"Sorry. Truthfully, I was just trying to place her."
"You don't remember her?"
"She seems familiar, but no, not really. Not sure why she remembers me."
"Can you blame her?" Your hand is in his hair, and he lets it be an anchor. He faces you fully, looking down at the woman he loves now, more than any of the others.
"Y/N, I don't want to keep anything from you. I--"
"Poe Dameron?"
You both turn to see another woman approaching. Her smile practically glows in the dark as she wraps her arms around Poe in a tight hug. You step back to give them room, Poe's eyes tracking you the entire time.
"Selene, it's great to see you," Poe says, quickly wrapping an arm around your shoulders after he breaks away from her.
"You, too," she says. Her eyes trail over to you and you extend a hand.
"Y/N, nice to meet you," you say.
"Selene. Is this your first time on Yavin-4?"
"Yes, this is the first time we've been able to get away," you say looking up at Poe.
"Oh, were you in the Resistance, too?"
"I was," you said with a smile. "Truthfully, this is the first time that Poe and I have had so much time together. In the Resistance, we were always running around the galaxy, often on opposite ends."
"Well, I won't bother you for too long, just wanted to say hello to an old friend. If you'd like, a couple of friends are here with me, most you know, Poe. Come over if you'd like.
"It was great meeting you. Enjoy your night," she says with a smile.
"You too," you say. When she's out of earshot, you look at him. "You were awfully quiet."
"Sorry, I . . ."
"How many of your girlfriends do you think we'll see tonight?" you ask. He lets out a heavy sigh before answering that he isn't sure. "Poe, you don't seem to be having a great time," you say, your face becoming serious.
"I am."
"If you want, we can go back to your Dad's. This was supposed to be fun."
"I'm having fun."
"You're a bad liar."
"It's just," he begins, his hand again around your waist, needing to keep you close, "I wasn't expecting so many visitors from my past."
"Well, what did you imagine would happen coming back to a place from your past?"
"I didn't want to bombard you with all of this."
"All of what?"
"My dating history.”
"Poe-"
"Poe! You will never guess who I just saw!" Snap joins your small group, Jess and Kare not too far behind, and throws an arm around Poe.
"Who?" he asks, his voice thick with newfound exhaustion.
"Emmamay!"
"Who's that?" you ask.
"No one," Poe answers, at the same time that Snap says, "His ex-girlfriend."
"Where is she?" you ask.
"She was heading out as we came in, but said to say hi to you," Snap says. Poe nods his head, his eyes not focusing on anything specific.
"What is that now? Three exes from your past?" you ask with a grin. Black Squadron laughs around him.
"Four actually," he says. "I dated the bartender, too. Briefly."
"Really?" you ask, eyes wide with intrigue.
"Really."
He fades into the background as his friends talk. He is lost in his own thoughts, and knows that you have looked at him a few times, hoping to pull him back into the conversation, but he can't find the energy.
"Come here," you say, after so long has passed. You grab his hand and pull him out into the middle of the room, where a group has gathered to dance. "I love this song."
"I know you do," he says softly, wrapping his hands around your waist. The both of you sway along to the music, his eyes locking on yours.
"You've been weird," you say.
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be sorry, just tell me why. Is it about all your exes?"
"I don't want you to feel like you're the latest in a long string of women."
"So what if I am?" you ask, your fingers tangling in his hair.
"You know, my history, it's not something I'm proud of."
"You think you're the only one who has a trail of broken-hearted exes behind them?"
"I know your numbers don't match mine," he says, giving you a weak smile.
"Who cares? They were all part of the path that led us to each other. If I took you home, we'd probably run into plenty of men I had dated, some whose name I can't even remember now."
"You wouldn't know their names?" he asks with a raise of his eyebrows.
"They're inconsequential, now. No matter what I felt for them then, I love you more."
"I love you more," he says deeply.
"Then stop being so moody," you say as he pulls you in close. "I don't care if we run into a million women here. They are part of your history, part of why you've become the man you are. I'm happy to meet all of them, to know their stories of you. Because they've made you the one I've fallen for."
"I love you, baby," he says again.
"I know," you say, and tilt your head to kiss him. Poe's grip on you is tight, as if he never wants to let you go.
Part of him hopes that all of his exes are watching. He wants them to see the perfect woman in front of him. Wants them to know that the stars aligned for the two of you. He wants them to see that you are the last in his long history. You are his forever, and everything else, everyone else, will fade into the past.
“Besides, if being with all these women has taught you everything you know, I’m grateful.”
“Everything I know?”
“How you treat me,” you say simply, “How you kiss me.” He places a delicate kiss to your lips. “How you are in bed . . .”
“Maybe we should get out of here,” he says, his nose at your neck. You laugh in the breathy way that makes his body tighten, but shake your head.
“Not yet. I want to enjoy this night with you. Even if we are surrounded by all of the girls you’ve loved before.”

Poe Dameron rose quickly through the ranks of the Resistance.  General Leia Organa trusted him, and more to the point, he always got results.  Always.
Rare intel into the First Order’s movements?  Recruiting missions to convince disgruntled members of the New Republic to join the Resistance?  Errands to build relationships with allies in the Outer Rim?  Poe did it all with his own unique panache and ineffable charm.  Being a handsome bastard with an appealing smile didn’t hurt.
Sometimes, admittedly, his charm failed him and he found himself in…uncomfortable situations.
Like now.
Leia had dispatched him to a planet in the Core, a technological powerhouse that built state-of-the-art spaceships.  The goal was to get a deal for new crafts.  The problem was that the Resistance had little money (read:  no money) and even fewer prospects for more.  This planet, however, seemed to prefer the benevolent neglect of the New Republic over the authoritative grip of the First Order, and they had suffered under the Empire, so there was hope that a deal could be made.
Poe’s tricky situation came from two obvious facts.  First, the planet was run by a King and his attendant family – a very rich, very powerful man.  His wealth lay in his shipbuilding facilities – the technological know-how, the expertise of his engineers, the pride in superb craftmanship that left nothing unattended.  His wealth also lay in his vast progeny:  he had three wives and, well, countless sons and daughters.
The second fact of Poe’s tricky situation was that this planet, this king, his multitude of children and wives – the entire populace, in fact – was ruled by a very stringent, very precise set of rules.  There were rules for everything:  how to shake a hand (hand-on-forearm for no more than five seconds), how to sip the strong tea they served (from a lacquered cup, but only after the host sips theirs first), how to open negotiations (after precisely one lap around the King’s pleasure gardens and after saying, three times, that General Organa sends her well-wishes and highest regards).  How long to hold eye contact, how to smile, which color shirt to wear to signal certain feelings in certain situations.
Poe would have likely always ended up messing up the negotiations.  There was no way for a single person outside of that culture to learn all of their fussy, particular little rules.  Of course, Leia had tried to send C-3PO along – the droid had tried to explain all those rules - and Poe had waved her off.
“How hard can it be?” he had said, flashing her a cocky grin.
How hard was it?  Well, it happened like a slow-motion explosion.  First, Poe had held on a beat too long with the opening handshake.  Then he glanced away while the King’s advisor was giving him an exhaustive tour of the King’s sculpture garden.
The worst, though, was when Poe inadvertently insulted the King’s second wife.  He wasn’t even sure how it happened – there was a huge dinner, and he used the wrong fork at the wrong time, wore the wrong shirt and looked her in the eye too long, and it devolved into Poe being tersely removed to sparser quarters which, it turned out, was just a prison.
And then, there was a trial (of sorts) which just involved the King’s advisors and astrologers and high priests, who all consulted their histories and star charts and rule books.  Poe would have laughed at how ridiculous it all was, except the guards who held him carried top-of-the-line blasters along with wicked-looking scythes, so he wisely kept his laughing to himself and tried to look contrite, though he wasn’t sure where contrite looks ranked with the King.
At last, it was decided (though Poe would never quite be sure if it was due to a historical precedent or some alignment of this system’s dual stars) that Poe would be released and gifted a cruiser, along with a promise of twenty premium gunships.
The cruiser was a wedding gift.
For Poe.
“The laws of our people demand an allyship in blood,” declared one high priest, and Poe’s heart clenched at his implied sacrifice.  Then, the priest added, “so you shall marry one of the King’s daughters.”
So the sacrifice wasn’t implied after all.  Poe was to be sacrificed on the altar of matrimony.  His heart seized up even more, but….a cruiser and twenty gunships?  The Resistance desperately needed it, and he could always get a marriage dissolution afterwards.
The slow-motion explosion continued, and if Poe thought he’d at least get to pick his wife (the King had eleven daughters), he was sadly mistaken.  Not that it mattered:  the women of the royal court (and many of the men) were bound to the strict dress codes of their strange laws.  Long hair bound and woven into intricate designs.  Long, enameled fingernails.  Faces and hands painted in delicate filigrees of designs.  Dresses with so many layers that the person’s original shape was lost.  It made the Queen of Naboo look like a fishmonger on Quila.
The day of the wedding, Poe found himself sick to his stomach.  He’d been given his own clothes back to him, clean and pressed, and his fingers shook as he buttoned his shirt.  He raked his fingers through his curls and tried to size himself up in the mirror in his room.  He looked wan underneath his tan.  Like a man on the way to his own execution.
Him, married.  He’d had plenty of casual flings, a few girlfriends, but nothing even veered close to long-term dating or marriage.  He was too devoted to the cause of eradicating the First Order from the galaxy, and that’s what he told himself he was doing now:  securing those ships, building an alliance for more.  He gave himself a nod in the mirror, as if to reassure himself.
All that opulence and elaborate court gesturing, and the guards led him not to a large ballroom or hall, as Poe expected.  Instead, he found himself in a small antechamber with only a few people present:  an advisor, a high priest and priestess.
And a young woman.  Poe’s intended.
You stood placidly a bit apart from the others, and though you weren’t as elaborately done up as others Poe had seen at court, you were still hidden under layers of paint and brocaded cloth.  Your hands were folded in front of yourself and that probably meant something in your culture, but you kept your eyes carefully fixed on the floor in front of you.
“Is this it?” Poe asked, incredulous.  He couldn’t quite believe that a wedding would have less pomp than the palace’s afternoon ceremony for tea and biscuits.  He glanced over at you, and you seemed to cringe at his words.
“She is the third daughter of the third wife,” the advisor said dismissively.  “The occasion of her marriage does not warrant more than this.”
So that was the other side of the equation, Poe realized.  A cruiser and some gun-ships to offload an unwanted daughter.  He tried to look at you a closer, but you seemed to sense his gaze and shrank even more from it.
The occasion of your marriage amounted to a few muttered words by both the high priest and priestess, and then first you and then Poe signed an official looking document on thick, heavy paper.  The advisor folded it carefully, then tied it with a white ribbon, then handed it to Poe.
That was it.
No exchanged vows or promises of love.  No rings placed on fingers or hands bounds together while prayed over.  Not even any eye contact – every time Poe glanced over at you, your eyes were focused elsewhere.
And afterwards?  There was no celebration.  Not even a goodbye from your parents or any of your multitude of siblings – you and Poe were both ushered away from the palace and onto the promised cruiser.  The craft that Poe had arrived on was safely stowed on said cruiser, along with your dowry (some jewelry, some personal effects, and enough gowns to outfit the entire fleet of pilots in the Resistance).
After you were cleared to take off, Poe did just that.  He marveled at how well the ship handled, and he practically twitched in anticipation for those gun-ships.  Leia would be so happy.  If Poe returned with a wife in tow, well…that was the price to pay.  He could take care of that situation later.
He set the coordinates for D’Qar and felt the ship ease into hyperspace so smoothly he almost missed the streaks of lights that flew past.  He was only two days away from being home.  No, not just he anymore.  You and he.
Poe stood up from his pilot’s seat and stretched.  He felt the weight of the past few days slide off of his shoulders, and he felt like he could sleep until the ship exited hyperspace.  But there was a new weight laying on him, and he left the cockpit now to go face it.
You were still sitting in the galley, exactly where he had left you to take off.  You gifted him with the barest glance before you returned your eyes to the floor.
You were, like everyone else in your court, off-putting.  A human with no shape under the leagues of fabric encasing you.  A person with a face so painted that there was no room for expression.  And, possibly, a person who didn’t talk.
“I’m Poe,” he said slowly and loudly, and he kicked himself internally at how the bark of his voice echoed off the shiny new walls of the space craft.
He swore he saw the corner of your painted lips twitch – a smile maybe? – but your face resumed its placid surface before you murmured quietly that yes, you knew his name.  Of course - he had signed it beside yours on the marriage contract.
“Do you have a name?” he asked, a little gentler.  “Or are you just numbered off by birth order?”
That did bring a smile to your face, and you lifted your eyes to meet his gaze for a brief second before returning to watch the space on the floor between you and him.  You told him your name in your quiet voice.  “Or you could call me number eight, if you prefer,” you added with a hint of a smile in your words.
The eighth child.  Third daughter of a third wife.  Poe had no idea what you really looked like, and more to the point, what you liked.  What you didn’t like.  What you’d think of D’Qar and its rough-and-tumble, scrappy quarters.  What you’d think of the people in the Resistance.  How much you’d stick out in your elaborate gear, how the hems of your sharply pleated skirt would be muddied within seconds of walking through the forest.
Poe could have sat beside you and tried to get to know you.  There was some time, after all, and you likely hadn’t asked for marriage any more than he had.  But he was keen to get ahold of Leia and report his success, and he wanted to discuss his next mission, which they had already talked about beforehand – finding her brother, Luke Skywalker.  Apparently there was someone on Jakku who had a map, and that mission pushed every other thought out of his mind until Poe quite forgot about you.
So when you landed on D’Qar, Poe sprinted ahead of you to find BB-8 and Leia, leaving you behind to fend for yourself.
As you descended the craft, you watched the retreating back of your erstwhile husband.  Poe Dameron left you behind.  Other women of your court might throw a pretty tantrum or pout winsomely, but you were the third daughter of the third wife.  You didn’t rage or pout.  You were used to being left behind and forgotten.
So you did what you did best:  you squared your shoulders, steeled your spine, and prepared yourself for a new life in this strange world.
As Poe Dameron’s wife.

💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫
You couldn't stop the butterflies from fluttering inside of your belly as Poe Dameron--the Poe Dameron--leaned into your cockpit to point out the controls of your new X-Wing.
You had just been appointed to his squadron as a fledgling pilot. You had originally been a smuggler that the Resistance hired routinely, and apparently, a flight maneuver you performed in a dogfight with a few weequay pirates got Poe's attention.
If you could fly like that in an old hunk of clunk freighter, how would you do in something designed for finer maneuvers, for dogfights?
How good would your skills be against the First Order?
Your senses were currently buzzing as everything Poe invaded the cramped space. The smell of oxidized metal, or smoke and ozone from patching up hull breaches and walls to the base; the smell of sweat and cheap juice he'd downed before spotting you in the hangar and rushing over to offer his "expertise".
He wasn't looking at you, he was practically laying on you, actually; as he supported his weight on the console with one hand and pointing out the dials, buttons, levers and latches you'd need to memorize to control your new fighter.
His face had thin rivulets of sweat trickling down his gloriously almost-olive skin, his dark raven curls falling around his face, clumped with excess sweat. His suit was soaked too, the orange having dark stains from the moisture his body was sweating out thanks to the damned heat of this Force-forsaken planet.
But honestly, you sent a silent prayer to whomever was listening for the heat, because you hoped--like some foolish schoolgirl with a crush on a galaxy-famous athlete--that Poe would get sick of the heat and tear off the top half of his suit to cool his heated skin.
You were so absorbed in staring at him, that you had almost entirely forgot to listen to him. You only realized your brain lapsed when he turned his head to smile that trademark grin of his, wrapping up his last sentence.
"...and then that's the yoke, obviously. Don't need to tell you that. Got it?"
"Wh--oh! Y-yep! Got it, commander..." You cough awkwardly, four fingers fiddling pointlessly with the controls.
"Kay, theeeeen..." He smirked at you from the corner of his eyes as he turned back to your control panel. "...repeat everything I just told you. Y'know... So I know my impeccable lessons stuck."
"I, uh--well, uh. This is the..." You began to blubber out, trying to find something you did know and give a quick, half-assed explanation on what it did.
Poe barked out a hearty belly laugh, "Don't even bother, darlin'... If you were paying attention... You'd know that I squeaked in a line about me being the former Emperor of Kashyyyk. And, as handsome as I am, unfortunately, I feel ike the wookies might have an issue with me wanting to claim the throne. ...If they even got one."
Your face flushed with color and you buried your face into your hands, "Stars, I am so sorry. I-I really was trying to pay attention, I just..."
"Got lost in all this--" He leaned back to gesture to his messy, sweaty form. "--primal, god-like, drop-dead gorgeous attractiveness?"
From the bottom of his ladder, you could hear BB-8 tweet out a response that called Poe out. You swore you could make out "nerf-herder" and "Hutt's armpit" in-between his refuting whistles and beeps.
Poe leaned back on the ladder and frowned at his round companion, "Hey, you little womp-rat! I will have you know a lot of people find me handsome!"
BB-8 once again doubted that claim, your abilities once again picking out few choice words such as; "drunkards", "a blind quarren" and "brain-dead jawa".
You need to laugh at their bickering overpowered your embarrassed, darkened cheeks and you titter and snort at what little you could pick ou.
Poe looked at you with a playful scowl, "What're you giggling about?"
You cover your mouth and point down at BB, who tweeted as he spun in a circle.
Poe looked between you and BB, his jaw going slack as his amber eyes looked to the both of you in disbelief.
He finally looked back at you for a final time, pointing at you.
"You," He pointed down at BB-8. "Can understand him?"
You rub the back of your neck. "W-well sort of... I spent a lot of my childhood working in a droid repair shop, and--"
Poe clapped, whooping happily, "Oh, I knew I liked you! Finally, somebody else who can hear what this little metal butterball is shouting at me! You'd be surprised at how many people don't understand droids!"
He leaned in and whispered conspiratorially, "...Sometimes I think they're the lucky ones."
BB-8 twittered and shrieked a response, beeping rapidly in an irritated manner, making Poe laugh once again.
Finally, he leaned into the cockpit once more, winking at you.
"C'mon, darlin'... let's go over this again so the info soaks up into that pretty little brain o' yours. And if you do a good enough job on the pop quiz... maybe we can hit the local cantina!"

A sour scent of Spotchka permeates the cantina booth you sit in and burns your nose. It's flowing heavily today to celebrate a significant win against the First Order, the liquid soaked into the seats. The implosion of the Star Killer base had been a critical mission success, one that guaranteed The Resistance the opportunity to fight another day.
Morale was high, and General Organa saw no reason to put a stop to the celebrations when everyone was in need of some sort of release.
However, you feel tenser than you did in the sky, blasting tie fighters; muscles primed and ready to spring. Your brain has initiated evasive action, but your body is frozen in place by the oak-brown eyes that settle intensely on your face.
Poe swirls the blue beverage in the tumble glass, creating a miniature whirlpool, not unlike the twisting feeling in your stomach. His gaze, irises obscured by his hooded eyelids, sets sparks across your skin like an ion charge.
He lifts the glass to his lips, taking a swig of the azure liquid and savouring the burn on his tongue. You hear him exhale slowly through his nose despite the din of the bustling Cantina. It's like your senses are honed in on the gold leader, blurring out the background noise.
"So, you and Gold-Twelve, huh?”
Your mouth dries when his eyes lift back to you, a playful spark of something dangerous flitting in his pupils. Had he seen that? The flirty arm that Kori had wrapped around your waist. The squeeze he’d given your hip— the brush of his palm against the curve of your ass.
“H-Huh?”
“Sure seems like he was getting cosy with you, Seven.” His tone is pointed but not vicious. There’s something clipped in his voice- something envious.
“N-No-… No, we’re jus-“
“No?” He asks you, pointing to the bar while maintaining a grip on the crystal glass in his hand, “Could have fooled me, Seven. He seemed ready to take you to his bunk.”
You feel heat flush your face, eyes burning into the ak-wood tabletop. Had it been imported from Tython? The rings and swirls within the grain were pretty, maybe pretty enough to convince Poe you were too distracted to listen to his probing questions-
“Come here.”
Your body betrays you. Startled by his order, your eyes snap up to his face. Poe’s eyebrow is quirked upwards, indicating his unwillingness to wait. He’s radiating this energy, something that makes your insides scream with delight.
“B-But-“
“If you’re not seeing Kori, come here.”
Seeing?! What the kriff did he even mean by that? Did he think you two were sleeping together, because you sure as kark weren’t dating! You stumble like a newborn foal out of your side of the booth, practically floating around the table to reach where he waits expectantly.
You barely slide into the booth when he’s pulling you onto his lap, hands vice-like on your hips as he settles you on his left thigh. A gasp rips itself from your throat, whiny in pitch, when he balances on his toes and grinds the muscle of his against your clit.
He’s gazing up at you, those eyes melting like chocolate when he looks at you through his lashes. Poe reminds you so much of it, rich and sweet and rare. When he parts his lips, your tongue begs to taste them, craving the oxytocin.
“I-“ you stumble; the sweep of his hands up your back in a soothing gesture makes your heart stutter and slam into your throat. “I’mnotdatingKori!”
The induced slur of the admission makes him smile, leaning up ever so slightly to get closer to you. Spotchka hangs heavy on his breath when he exhales a sigh, the tip of his nose brushing against the soft flesh of your cheek when he presses a kiss to your jaw.
“Good. That’s good,” he murmurs, his own words dripping together as though all the blue alcohol has hit him all at once. Poe isn’t totally drunk. He needs rivers of Spotchka to get intoxicated, preferring the much stronger Jet-Juice as it was less of a drain on his credits and more of a buzz on his brain.
No, if you knew better, you’d realise that he’s inebriated by you. The feeling of your body on his, the feeling of your cunt grinding on his lap when he drags you forward.
Whimpering, your hands fly out to hold onto the leather shoulders of his jacket. You’re trembling already, the effects of his touch hitting you much harder than even the strongest of alcoholic beverages they served in this shitty cantina. The friction, even through your clothes, settles a twisting feeling in your abdomen when he slides his palms under your ass, grabbing a handful of you and using it as leverage.
“P-Poe-“ you moan out his name, knowing damn well that half of the patrons in the damn bar could look over and see you getting all but fucked by the Black Leader, right hand to General Leia Organa.
“So pretty for me on my lap,” he whispers, eyes engulfed by the blackness of his pupils as he sweeps them over your form as you roll your hips across the length of his muscular thigh. Poe Dameron was well known for being too damn ‘thick’ for his x-wing seat, and you can feel why. “Think you’d look so pretty for me on my cock, baby. Fuck, look at you-“
Stars, you’re gripping the leather of the booth, fingernails scratching the surface beyond repair as you feel a surge pass through you, crackling like force-lightning up your spinal cord and short-fusing your brain.
“Nuh-uh,” he shakes his head at you, lips pulling apart in another Dameron-Dreamy smile as he works his hands between you, belt clicking quietly amongst the loud celebration of drunk revellers. “Pretty baby’s gonna wait until I’ve got a taste of what she looks like all filled up.”
Spotchka and endorphins are flooding your system; you don’t even bother to second-guess the location, the people in the room, the logistics. You just scramble to remove your cargo pants, Poe’s fingers hooking into the waistband and yanking them down just enough to slip you onto his aching dick.
The whole of Yavin 4 learns that you most certainly are not ‘seeing’ Gold-Twelve and that Black Leader Poe Dameron had already staked his claim, much to Kori’s disappointment.
Much to your delight.

I'm back! I know it's been FOREVER. I hope this new chapter is worth it :) Reblogs, comments, etc. are appreciated!
Poe knew he had royally screwed up.  He knew the moment you tearfully fled the command center. He knew he should have gone after you, to look for you immediately.
Instead, he stayed. You would come around eventually and seek him out when you ready. Poe could almost bank on this--so he was a bit surprised when he left the extremely long briefing with Leia--you were no where to be found. In fact, no one had seen you for hours. Not even BB-8, who always managed to find you to make sure you were alright.
He needed to find you. He couldn’t leave on the next mission without talking to you--there was a very real chance he wouldn’t come back from this mission and the last thing he wanted was for your last memory of him to be him angry and telling you to leave.  But the longer he looked for you, the more Poe was beginning to believe that you had left. Rushing back to the command center he cornered the unsuspecting communications officer and demanded to know if you had boarded the last transport off planet.
“The last transport went to Mon Cal, sir,” the officer reported.
“Was she on it?” Poe growled, desperately.
“I’m not sure, I can pull up the passenger manifest.”
“Then pull it up!”
Fear flashed through the officer’s eyes before he quickly got to work on the commander’s request. Poe anxiously paced behind him. What if you had really gone? What was he going to do? There was no time to chase after you--he needed to leave soon--the Resistance needed to find that way finder so they could end this war once and for all--and there was literally no time to spare.
Briefly he thought about letting Finn and Rey go--she could pilot, he’d seen her skills, but damn it--they were both so green when it came to missions. Perhaps an ounce of military training between them and he was being lenient on Finn’s training with the First Order. He’d been trained to just follow orders, never think for himself...
...the communication’s officer cleared his throat, alerting Poe that he was done with his task. Poe stopped pacing and nervously swallowed. “Well?”
“Her name wasn’t on the manifest, sir.”
“Great. That means she’s still here on base.”
“Not...not necessarily. If she was a last minute passenger...”
“What do you mean by that?”
The officer took a deep breath, winced slightly as he replied, “The crew might not have put her name on the final manifest that they passed off to us because that would have meant having to resubmit all their flight plans again and delayed their departure. It happens all the time, sir. I’m surprised you didn’t know about that.”
Poe felt like he had been punched in the gut. You were gone; with his intense desire to protect you, to give you the life you deserved--he’d pushed you away, probably for good. Before he could even think straight, he asked when he could get clearance to take off. He was going to Mon Cal, he was going after you--the mission, the Resistance be damned.
****
If you were being honest with yourself, you were devastated that Poe didn’t show up to stop you from getting on the transport. Well, it's not like you told him that you were actually leaving, you thought, bitterly, wiping at the tears in your eyes.
Or perhaps he didn't love you as much as you thought he did. Maybe he really did want you to go. Somehow, you managed to beg your way onto the transport to Mon Cal--the last one to leave base that afternoon--despite not being on the original passenger manifest. The crew seemed annoyed by that; apparently they didn't want to add your name and delay departure. You suggested they didn't add your name--you didn't want to be found or followed.
"Fair enough," the captain said with a shrug. "Get on board."
One last glance to see if Poe had emerged from the base; one last little bit of hope dashed when you didn't see him. He doesn't love you, you're such an idiot for ever believing it.
Crying, silently, you found a hidden spot on the transport. No one could watch your fall apart back here, behind a large crate. There had been some questioning eyes when you boarded, however, no one actually said anything to you. For all they knew, you were on a mission for the Resistance--not trying to get away from the man that had broken your heart into a million little pieces.
At least now Poe was free from the burden that you were. He got put all of his attention on the war and the Resistance--he could find someone that could take care of his heart better than you. He could have that peaceful life after the war was over with someone else; he could bring that person home to his father and proudly introduce them--he could parade them around Yavin IV with pride beaming in his brown eyes--he could have the life he deserved.
You had been living a dream with him, a dream that you had to wake up from eventually.
"Sorry folks," a voice said, making you realize someone had been speaking. "We're experiencing some mechanical problems; they're working on it but our departure is going to be delayed."
A low rumble spread throughout the cabin as the passengers grumbled about the delay--you felt a little bit of relief--you weren't entirely sure you wanted to leave the Resistance behind, after all you had made some friends here and you wanted to help. You told yourself that if Finn, Rose or Rey were aware that you thinking of leaving--they would have come to stop you
Familiar beeps echoed across the base and from your hiding spot you were able to glance up and see Poe, rushing to his fighter--rushing off on another mission not rushing to make sure you didn't walk out of his life forever.
****
Poe stormed towards his fighter, BB-8 on his heels. If he hurried he could get to Mon Cal not long after the transport--that would give him enough time to find you and tell you that he was sorry, that he was so in love with you that he was terrified he was going to be the reason you died.
BB-8 was screeching at him and Poe spun about on his heel, ready to shout at the little droid that they were wasting time--until he saw what the droid had been trying to tell him--the transport had not left yet. You weren't gone after all. He could see a team of mechanics working on the ship, the passengers had disembarked and were milling about waiting for the opportunity to reboard and be on their way. His deep brown eyes scanned the crowd looking for you and his heart sank when he didn't see you at first--and then, he caught sight of you, the sunlight catching in your hair...
...Poe took off like a shot, dodging in and out of workers and ships trying to reach you.
As he got closer, he called out your name and when you looked up at him, his heart shattered. He would never get the image of you, eyes swollen from crying, the devastation reflecting back at him--and then the realization that he had been the one to do this to you. Not the First Order, not Kylo Ren or General Hux--but him.
You ducked into the brush behind you and disappeared. Poe clenched his fists as a pair of mechanics, unaware of what was going, stepped in his path, blocking him from following you into the jungle. Gritting his teeth, he lowered his shoulder and pushed his way passed the mechanics and then into the jungle.
He saw you running up ahead on the path. Poe caught up to quickly, gently grabbing your wrist and pulling you back towards him. "Please, sweetheart, please don't go," he begged. "I didn't mean it--I regret that I even put the thought in your head."
Violently, you yanked your hand back, noticing that Poe's hand dropped to his side and that his shoulders sank a little. "Why should I stay? It's been hours since we got back from that mission, hours since you told me to leave--now all of a sudden you regret that?"
"I regretted it immediately," Poe whispered.
"Sure you did," you snapped at him, tears running down your cheeks.
"I did; I should have followed you, I should have told you..."
"But you didn't Poe! Just admit it--you don't love me!"
Poe felt sick to his stomach. Even if he convinced you to stay, would you even want to stay with him? He was about to lose you, he knew it from the bottom of his heart. "Is that what you think? That I don't love you?"
Wiping the tears from your eyes, you sharply nodded your head. "Isn't it obvious? You've been so angry at me--I'm a burden to you--I'm in the way of your work with the Resistance. I'm a nobody, Poe, just... just got back to base and forget about me. It's just better this way."
"Better? You think this is better? Breaking both our hearts like this?"
"You'll find someone else! Someone better!"
"There's that word again! I don't want better! There is no one better! I want you!"
Drawing your arms around yourself, you hugged your shaking body, tightly. Tears freely streamed down your cheeks and you felt him take a step closer to you. "Poe," you pleaded with him, "please, please don't make this harder."
Poe heard his commlink going off; Finn must have been looking for him, but he couldn't leave on that mission--not now--he could not leave the base without making sure you'd be there when he returned. He took another step towards you, making the small space between you even smaller. "I know...I know I haven't...I've been terrible towards you recently. Angry. But it's not you I'm angry at, sweetheart. I hate this whole situation. I hate that I can't give you a safe place to call home, I hate that every time I leave--I might not come back to you. But I have never, ever stopped loving you. Please, sweetheart, you have to believe me when I say that."
You shook your head; why couldn't he just let this go? Why couldn't he see it the way you saw it? It was better this way--even if he now hated that word. "Just go on your mission, Poe. It's more important than me. Just forget me."
"No," he said, softly, firmly.
"No?" you repeated, looking at him through watery eyes.
"I'm not going to just forget about you."
"You should; you'll be able to focus on your mission."
Heavily sighing, Poe closed the last little bit of space between you. His fingers ghosted along your arms before he gently grasped your wrists in his strong hands. "You are my mission, sweetheart. Bringing an end to the First Order, bringing peace to the galaxy--making sure it's safe for you--that's my mission. I have to go on this mission with Finn and Rey--if we don't find a way to stop the reborn Emperor and the Final Order--there will never be peace. Promise me, you'll be here when I get back."
Crying, you buried your face against his shirt and you felt one of his hands let go of your wrist and his arm snake around your waist. You couldn't manage any words, just a simple nod of your head.
Poe pulled back, kissing your forehead. His comm was going off once again and he knew he couldn't delay any longer. "Promise me," he whispered, now kissing your lips softly. His hand holding onto to your wrist let go and his thumb wiped your tears away. "Sweetheart, please."
You sniffled, a few more fresh tears falling. "I...I promise...I'll be here when you get back."
Letting you go, Poe stepped back. His eyes locked with yours as he answered his comm and said he was on his way. Reaching underneath his scarf, he pulled the chain from around his neck. You saw the gold of his mother's wedding ring reflecting the sunlight and then he slipped the chain around your neck. "Keep this safe for me?"
"Shara's ring? I'll...I'll make sure it's safe."
"I love you; I'll say as often as I have too until you believe it. And then I'll keep saying it so you remember it."
Clutching tightly to the ring, you stood there while he kissed you, making another promise to come back to you and reassuring you once again that he did love you. Then he was gone--heading back through the jungle--leaving you standing behind, silently tears running down your cheeks.
Promise me, Poe, that you'll come back.

Tumblr media
“Your boyfriend treats you like shit” the words echoed over and over again in Poe’s head and hung over the tip of his tongue, aching to say them out loud.
You didn’t need to hear the words from him, you already knew that; you were the first one aware that he treated you like shit.
You had asked Poe if you could spend the evening in his quarters, now sitting on his floor downing a bottle of spotchka between the two of you, explaining that you found one more proof that your boyfriend was cheating on you.
Cheating on someone was one thing, but being so conspicuous and obvious about it was something else.
He didn’t even try to hide it; in fact you didn’t know if he tried to, but if he did, he was certainly doing a poor job at it.
You hadn’t been dating for long, and thankfully you weren’t that attached to him, but if he cheated so early into the relationship then did he ever even care about you? Were you so boring that he had to go look somewhere else?
Poe bit his lip incredulously as he looked at you shaking your head in despair before taking a long sip from the spotchka bottle.
It drove him insane that someone like you dated someone like him, but most of all it drove him insane that someone like him cheated on someone like you.
“I think I’m gonna blaster shot your boyfriend” Poe spat out of the blue, saying it out loud though he didn’t mean to.
“Oh he’s not my boyfriend anymore” you snorted, letting the bottle slide towards Poe as you brought your knees to your chest. He stopped the bottle as the neck hit the palm of his hand, preventing the liquid from spilling out. “He just doesn’t know it yet. But does that change anything for him anyways” you muttered rhetorically under your breath, letting your forehead rest against your knees.
“You know what,” he started, taking a sip from the bottle before continuing. “I always found him obnoxious. Apparently never takes orders correctly and struts around. And he’s gotta be one of the worst mechanics I’ve ever seen in the Resistance. Couldn’t even properly run tests on Beebs. What did you even see in him?” Poe asked raising an eyebrow, still genuinely confused that you dated a guy like this one. It was nonsensical for you to date an asshole of his kind. You were smart, and he knew you wouldn’t let yourself be pushed around because you knew how to stand up for yourself.
“I don’t know.” your lie slipped away easily. What you saw in him was the rich dark curls and deep brown eyes that reminded you of someone. Unfortunately the guy couldn’t compare, and by far. “Maybe I happened to be desperate” you declared, looking back at Poe. it was half true.
Poe chuckled before taking another sip of the washed out blue liquid. He winced at the strong taste of the alcohol, and took his jacket off and put it aside as the warmth of the drink took over his body.
You sighed and reached out as he handed you the bottle back. “You know what’s the worst part of this? I don’t think I even care.” you admitted letting a groan out when you sat back against the wall.
“Really?” he asked, the expression on your face telling him otherwise. Maybe what you were saying was genuine, but there was something beyond that, and he knew you too well to be convinced of the contrary.
“...Yeah. Does that make me a bad person?”
Poe snorted and burst into laughs. “Oh sweetheart you’re not the bad person here” he smiled. “But it’s a good thing you’re not suffering from it!” he exclaimed, shrugging. “I wouldn’t want you to be heartbroken over a guy as shitty as this one.”
“Yeah” you mumbled, leaning your cheek over your forearm propped against your knees.
Poe observed you closely. You looked tired, and despite the results of a tough mission and the deception of finding another person’s clothes in your boyfriend’s room you still looked like the most beautiful thing he had ever seen in this galaxy.
“What” you called glancing at Poe, noticing that his gaze was glued and lost on you.
Poe shook his head, looking away from you. “You deserve someone good.” he declared, a small frown on his face as he bit on his lower lip and nodded.
“Yeah well, anyone’s better than him at this point” you chuckled, extending your legs on the floor. Except you didn’t want just anyone.
Maybe you weren’t sad over the fact that your ‘boyfriend’ was a cheating piece of shit, but you were over one specific cute pilot you had been having a massive crush on for years.
He cleared his throat before talking. “I don’t know if this is what you need to hear but,” he paused, a small smirk growing over his face. “I could treat you right” he shrugged.
“Don't make fun of me” you chuckled, grabbing the bottle at your feet. “I don’t doubt you could treat me well” you admitted, raising your eyebrows before drinking from the bottle.
“I’m not making fun of you” Poe snorted in disbelief. “I’m very serious, I could be a better boyfriend than him. If you let me be”
You looked at him and frowned, trying to decipher whether he was making fun of you or not. You shook your head and rolled your eyes. “Come on Poe, this is the spotchka talking” you said shrugging it off, trying to diffuse the tension, not believing Poe really meant what he proposed.
“You drank way more than me and you’re not even drunk, I can’t be drunk.” he said as a groan escaped him while he got up from the floor. “Look” he paced around the room. “I can still walk straight”
“Pfffff” you sighed, shaking your head before laughing.
“What? Wanna bet that I can be a better boyfriend than that shitpile of a man?” he asked, stopping in place.
“Okay.” he half expected you to take his offer seriously. In his mind, he expected you to decline his offer with a sarcastic comment, and he would respect that you don’t want anything with him. It would break his heart, but at least he would know for certain and would try to move on.
“Really?” he asked raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah” you shrugged, putting the bottle back down on the floor.
He kneeled in front of you, your gaze following him as he did so.
“Really?” he asked again, one side of his mouth rising into a smile.
“Yes Poe” you whispered, the same smirk growing on your face. “Be my boyfriend”
He licked his lips in a quick motion and nodded frantically.
“Okay. Let’s do that” he smiled, and reached for one of your hands. He looked at the ring you were wearing, a ring he had brought you from his homeplanet, Yavin IV. The gesture had made your heart skip a beat.
“Never took it off” you declared as you looked at it too, the carved symbols shining slightly.
“I’ll take you to Yavin IV one day” he promised, bringing your hand to his mouth and leaving a kiss at your knuckles. You smiled at him and blushed a bit, because even if you were accustomed to Poe’s constant flirting, it felt real now.
“I would love that” you smiled back at him, brushing his hair back with your other hand, which shifted to rest on his lightly stubbled cheek.
“Can I kiss you?” he asked,
“Yes you can. Please” you almost implored him.
“Good.” a sly smirk adorned his face before his lips slotted against yours.
It was soft, soft but a bit desperate, and you felt like teenagers all over again.
You framed Poe’s face and brought him closer, almost making him fall; thankfully he had enough reflexes to block his fall by putting his hand on the wall behind you. You both laughed into the kiss before he pulled away, a dopey smile on his face.
“Fuck your cheating boyfriend” he whispered accusingly, stroking his thumb along your cheek.
“What cheating boyfriend?” you asked sarcastically. “My boyfriend treats me well” you declared, confidence gaining you again.
A laugh escaped from his lips, and he grabbed the spotchka bottle before quickly kissing your forehead.
“I’d stay down there to kiss you more but my knees are starting to hurt” he said getting up again.
“Okay grandpa” you teased him. “But I can get up, you have no excuse”
“I’m fine with it, and what can I refuse you since I’m the best boyfriend ever?” he asked rhetorically, offering you his free hand to help you get up.
“Straight up best boyfriend ever?” you asked as he helped you up before taking a gulp of the blue liquid and putting the bottle on the table behind him.
“You’ll see!” he exclaimed holding his hands up, raising his eyebrows too. “I’m planning on making up for your latest disastrous relationship so you won’t have to think about it ever again”
You nodded, a downwards impressed smile on your face.
“Sounds like something a perfect boyfriend would do” you admitted.
He softly smiled, a new kind of smile you had never seen on him. “C’mere” he called, extending his arms.
You weakly smiled at him and threw your arms around him, resting your head over his shoulder. He hugged you back and cupped the back of your head. This was possibly the best hug you even received, even if you had hugged him so many times before.
“A hug is nice but where are my kisses?” you teased after a while, looking up at him.
He chuckled before executing himself, taking his role very seriously.
And the next day, the face your ex made when you told him you couldn’t hang out because you already had a date was priceless.
comments and reblogs are greatly appreciated :)))))))

Can I please have number 9 from your comfort gestures with our boy Poe please? 😘
here's a cheeky Poe for you 😊💖 thank you so much for requesting! Also, I know the prompt says winking or sending them kisses but like... why not both?
Prompt list: Small but comforting gestures #9. winking at them, or sending them flying kisses and seeing them fluster
Pairing: Poe Dameron x reader
Word count: 549 words
CW: mentions of nudity (or: Poe talking about seeing him in his underwear which is also a warning by itself really)
Tumblr media
Poe couldn’t help it, he was unbelievably proud. You had been nervous since the night before… even before that, since the moment the General asked you to deliver the news on your mission alongside her, and seeing you up there, showing the entire base how much of a badass you are, had transformed his face into a huge, proud smile.
“It’s nothing big, I don’t know why she wants me there.” You had told Poe for what probably was the millionth time, fidgeting with the sheet as you got ready for bed.
“Are you kidding me? You found a whole-ass First Order settlement, sweetheart.” He had grabbed your face sweetly, making you look into his eyes - reassuring and soft, and so, so full of warmth. “You deserve to be there so everyone sees that it was you who found it, that’s why she wants you there, and you know it.” With a soft kiss, he calmed your nerves down. “Besides I’m going to be there, so if you get nervous just look for me and picture me in my underwear.”
“Poe!” You pushed him away, snorting at his terrible advice.
“What? That’s not how it works?” He laughed back, his mission of making you forget about it successful enough.
But there you were now, in front of the whole Resistance right next to Leia chiming in with your tasks on the mission as she told everyone about your discovery and your amazing job - her words, not anyone else’s -, all while you, for Maker’s sake, could not stop your hands from sweating and shaking.
You did what you knew best, maybe even unconsciously so: among the crowd in front of you you looked for Poe. It was easy to find him, after all, he had to be close to the General, but the moment you met his eyes you regretted it immediately. Not because of the way he was smiling or the way he was looking at you, but because of the wink he gave at you - cheeky and so confident, and definitely reminding you of the solution he gave to your nerves.
You had to bite your tongue not to giggle out loud, sending him a warning with your eyes that told him to behave. You should have known better since the flying kiss he gave as a response did all but calm you down: your ears were turning red, your breath hitched in your throat, and an audible shaky sigh made Leia turn to look at you.
“Would you mind going deeper into detail about it, Lieutenant?” Her lifted eyebrow told you she had seen it all.
“You were supposed to help, you nerf head.” You scolded him, pushing his shoulder as you joined him, sitting beside him again.
“That’s your own fault, honey.” Poe laughed with a kiss against your head, his arm reaching around your shoulders to pull you closer to him. “I’m really proud of you, you know that right?”
“I know.” You were glad you had rested your head on his shoulder, not letting him see you get flustered again.
“Just for that, you do get to see me in my underwear tonight.” His last words were mixed with a giggle as you pushed his leg in annoyance.
“I’ll hold you to that, Dameron.”
