How to tuneup your KB swing 💪 Here are a few of my favorite drills to fine tune your kettlebell swing. Rehab & performance guru @nikkihind of Rhiza Performance & Rehab, here in Kona, is working on her swing. We want to: 👉 Wedge or wind her deeper into the bottom of the swing so she can generate more power using her posterior chain (hamstrings and glutes), 👉 Fine tune the rhythm of the back swing or hike pass. 👉 Sharpen the timing of the forward swing (extension of her ankles, knees & hips.) 1️⃣ The cable pull-through is the first drill we layered on. This provides a kinesthetic blueprint of how deep to wedge into the backswing. It also helps with improved timing of the forward swing. 2️⃣ We then played with a towel swing to dial in the rhythm or timing of the swing, specifically when to send the hips back. 3️⃣ We worked on the timing of the forward swing by elevating the balls & toes on #sandbells to shift weight back into the heels, which throws off center of balance, forcing you to wind more into the backside. This makes it really awkward and noticeable to shoot the knees forward during the swing (scooping). 💪 The depth and rhythm of her back swing has improved and there is more precision on the forward swing.
