When I first fell off the wagon, I had just had emergency surgery, was on some powerful antibiotics and could not workout. Then depression set in, outside stressors increased, and I chose to follow directives from those not serious about their own health much less mine. Fast forward to now, I tried to ignore the signs, but when a reality check comes... there is nothing you can do to avoid facing it. Increased fibro flares, increased neuropathy pain, and lethargy. Borderline Diabetes... now Type 2 Diabetes. Was it all worth it? Allowing outside forces to pull me from my healthier, happier place? Nope! But it has taught me a VALUABLE lesson. Only I am responsible for how I live my life, fuel my soul, feed my mind and treasure the body I've been blessed with. National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day! Those who know me, know how I've suffered for YEARS from this illness, but refuse to be defeated by it! Getting myself physically active helped tremendously, but it is not the cure all. I still suffer flares, but my tolerance for pain has grown and I no longer refuse to accept pain management help from medications and stress therapy. Purple symbolizes strength and butterflies symbolize change, beauty and strength.
