TUBE TUESDAYS: One Day from Life Vest Inside
Have you ever had someone offer you a kind and friendly gesture just when you needed it? Did that simple act of kindness uplift your mood? Did that instance make it easier for you to pass that kindness to another person?
As I always share here, I've gone through some days when everything was just too overwhelming for me to handle that I was struggling to hold it together. Being outside among people was so difficult because I just felt like breaking down at any moment.
It was during these days though that I felt compassion from this universe. A friendly smile and nice conversation with a stranger or a warm hug from an acquaintance, little things like these gave me the courage and strength I needed to get by.
Most importantly, it's where I get the inspiration I need to stay dedicated to this blog and make sure I am able to reach out to at least one person who needs it most.
This is the kindness boomerang that this video talks about. Never underestimate small acts of kindness. Think of them as ripples on water that can do great and powerful things.
Xoxo, Katie

MUSIC MONDAYS: Carry On by Fun.
For this week's Music Monday I decided to share Carry On by Fun. This is my favorite song at the moment and I love this band so much!!!
This isn't the usual Flaws and Love kind of music that's all inspirational, but actually the chorus carries a nice positive message (at least that's what I think). Not to mention the nice vibe of the song made by geniuses.
It reminds me of all the good things in life and all of my happiest moments with friends back home! Enjoy this song and carry on!
Xo, Katie

Website Wednesdays: Not so Tiny Buddha
This is my favorite site. Not because I'm a yogi and I must be devoted to anything "buddha related", but because all the inspiration and encouragement I need is all here. I read it as often as I can and I always share it on twitter. It helps knock some sense into me especially when I need it and whenever I read an article that I know will really relate to a friend, I tell them about it too.
This is just a wonderful site with a warm and friendly community. Everyone shares their personal battles of struggle and strength. Not to mention the owner, Lori Deschene, who I look up to for running this site and being so kind to her followers.
I personally owe the Tiny Buddha community a huge thank you for guiding me through my difficult times and for bringing me where I am today.
More power to Tiny Buddha! Namaste!
Xo, Katie

Day Nine: Dove Real Beauty Sketches
Why are we always so critical, analytical, and harsh to ourselves? Would we treat others the way we treat the person in the mirror? No one deserves that. You don't deserve that. Be kinder to yourself. You're perfect the way you are. And you're more than enough.

FLAWED FRIDAYS: ON ESSENA QUITTING SOCIAL MEDIA
youtube
Her video was a needed wake-up call for me. I always believed that my self-worth and value were defined by my social media presence. I thought I needed to get a ton of followers or beautifully shot, carefully thought out, and perfectly edited photos to be validated because we get so much praise out of it. Who wouldn't want that? And I know that saying social media is fake is a bit extreme, but it becomes fake because the other side of it all is left out. We have become obsessed by perfection and beauty because we are heavily influenced by it. Even if the intention was not to deceive, it's not the whole truth. All I ask is that you know this and not waste so much of your time online just comparing yourself to those you see on your feed.

TUBE TUESDAYS: THIS IS COURAGE
youtube
Last month, we made history. Same-sex marriage finally became legal in the US which has been embraced by many people around the world. That day, the world became smaller and we all were one big happy community filled with love and hope. It's not everyday that the world comes together like they did on that beautiful day.
I'm sharing this video from PopSugar which brought me to tears. What an inspiration these people are to be brave and their family for the unconditional love. The world is changing. Soon, no one will feel the need to come out because they already feel accepted and loved no matter what.
Love will always win! Be the change you want to see in the world!
