going crazy about hozier and pirates again, y'all. but this one was just so immediately flinthamiltons to me, and then finding out more about the inspiration and context behind Francesca - both from Dante's Inferno and the actual historical people - just. gggggggghhhhhh the feeeeelings and the themes and. i want this song injected into my veins. but for now i'll just try to drag some of you into my pain :))

But the closer we got to Savannah, his resistance began to diminish. I couldn't say why. I wasn't expecting it. Perhaps he'd finally reached the limits of his physical ability to fight. Or perhaps as the promise of seeing Thomas got closer... he grew more comfortable letting go of this man he created in response to his loss. The man whose mind I had come to know so well... whose mind I'd in some ways incorporated into my own. It was a strange experience to see something from it... so unexpected. I choose to believe it... because it wasn't the man I had come to know at all... but one who existed beforehand... waking from a long... and terrible nightmare. Reorienting to the daylight... and the world as it existed before he first closed his eyes... letting the memory of the nightmare fade away.

sooo started rewatching black sails with mel this weekend and accidentally made this in two days.

its insane how much i love this show...like it is Insanely Good. i can't recommend it enough.

it has so many nuanced and interesting things to say about how marginalized people rebel against a civilization that would outcast them and distort them through history. and just... the power of queer love and alla dat...

it's also given me a new Favorite Character Of All Time In Media In General. and tentatively announcing it has possibly surpassed Hannibal as my new favorite show....

so in conclusion. please watch black sails :)
