Rika nods solemnly and purses her lips; she's relieved that he hasn't had to go through more trauma by the otherworldly forces of another onryō. However, she fears he may not be able to help her. She had heard of the Yamamura curse, and how it can be subdued by passing it on, viewing the tape... But Kayako Seiki was more malevolent, and no one had found a way to lift her curse.

"This family..." She pulls a crumpled photograph from her hoodie pocket, held together with tape, but one piece is still missing, "their home is linked to a curse." She hands it to the young man and points to the hole where the matriarch's face would be, "Kayako, the mother. She-" A shiver runs down her spine as her heart sinks in her chest, "She and her son were... murdered, by the father."

The young woman takes a ragged breath as she cradles her arms, her posture shrinking as she continues. "Th-the two of them latch themselves onto anyone unfortunate enough to-" her ears ring as a sharp pain shoots through her temple. Rika raises her hand and rubs the side of the head, "to step foot inside of the family home."

She shifts her gaze to meet Yoichi's, her eyes full of dread, "And I was a caretaker at that house after they had passed on."

i would describe danny’s morality as loose, honestly. and for good reason. now, if you look at jed and how he reacts to certain things, jed’s morality is more gray. jed’s played off as a good person, but there are some morally questionable things he does. for instance, he usually goes to where the ghostface  strikes and pesters victims’ families as well as the police. it’s seen as pretty insensitive. but anything for a story, right?

You’re not alone, he tells her, and immediately Tomie rises from her crouched position on the ground of the farm near the cowshed. Bloodied and dirtied, she hurries and slams into Yoichi with a sob in his shoulder, arms wrapped tightly around his neck. ❝I was so scared❞, she weeps, ❝they — they tried to kill me, to cut me up! I’m so glad you’re here!❞ If only he knew, if only he’d realized that the boys who attempted to kill her… will inevitably come for him too now that she has touched him.
