i feel like people are skimming over the uk riots in a way that makes me want to tear my hair out. muslims in the uk are in active danger. immigrants in the uk are in active danger. refugees in the uk are in active danger. people of colour in the uk are in active danger. asian communities in the uk are in active danger. black communities in the uk are in active danger.

there are massive far right riots throughout the country right now and people like fucking elon musk and nigel farage are inciting it and still have a platform to speak. people have used three young girls deaths, people's genuine grief in southport, to try and gain traction for their own racist bullshit and it's working.

a lot of refugee charities have been forced to close leaving many people without support, homes, funding, food, etc. if you aren't able to donate please consider sending a message via the conversation over borders campaign! it will send a hopeful, welcoming letter to a refugee in the uk. there is also a guide to staying safe here.

I'm writing again to bring attention to the GFM campaign of @salahahmed90 (Salah) and @salahmanarfamily (Manar), the parents of two young children in Gaza.

Here's an updated Salah posted last night, after he and his family were displaced for the sixth time:

Please help us, we are being subjected to genocide in Gaza. Hours ago, a house was bombed next to the place where we are and escaped death miraculously. Help us get out of Gaza in order to preserve our children.

Though Salah and Manar started out with the hopes of rebuilding, they've now made the difficult choice to begin saving up for an evacuation. Their campaign, however, is still very low on funds, and its been stagnating completely for the last few days, leaving them with barely enough for their immediate survival.

idk how many of you remember this but a few years ago tumblr ran a universally panned ad campaign for (us american) pride month that went "the gayest place on the internet".

unpopular opinion. . .but I do NOT want Anthony to walk Penelope down the aisle. Not only because they don't really have much of a relationship, the two of them really haven't interacted at all, but also because Anthony has really been. . .pretty damn hard on Colin. Like of all the siblings, Anthony has been the most stern and displeased with Colin. I am absolutely convinced that Medic carries dextrose drops with him. German pharmacies throw these after you when you buy anything at all. I went to check if this one specific brand I know of had been around since the 60s and 70s and yes, it was.

Small acts of kindness I can see Medic doing is giving everyone one of these if they are tired. I'm talking about Engineer mostly.
