Blu Christmas Holiday Movie Asplosion 2022! ⛄ Chapter 42: Holiday Inn 🦌 Ugh. I want to like this movie more. It in theory *should* be higher on the list. But the fact is, no matter how good, entertaining, classic, etc the rest of the film is, it will be forever and always marred by racism. I don't care that it was literally 80 years ago, and that "minstrel" shows and blackface were still common, and supposedly accepted then. It was racism then, it's racism now. While I appreciate them doing at least the bare minimum by including a note about it at this start of the film (I added a shot of it), and and extra feature discussing it featuring mostly POC, it nevertheless is uncomfortable, unentertaining, and again, racist. I still fast forward through it every time. Okay, that aside, this is another that just came out on 4K this year, and the picture does look good, and, if not for the aforementioned problem, the movie would be a top notch classic.
