Rise/Fall of SGE characters as High School stereotypes

No one asked for this, but I thought it’d be fun to do.

Rhian- He’s a little difficult, but he’s either a very popular kid, that everyone knows and loves (or hates), or is either very quiet and has a difficult time making friends and mostly hangs out with Rafal. He has a new crush every week.

Rafal- I’d picture him as a whip-smart genius but not super popular. People know him, but not as much as others. He’s quieter in class, (mostly because he doesn’t waste words on useless topics), but yet also brilliant.

James- A very annoying popular kid who’s also very flirtatious. I simply cannot picture James as anything else.

Midas- Hmm. Probably a little intimidating when you first meet him, but a weller- known person that’s actually nice once you get to know him. He’s definitely cheating off of someone else’s test though. Kyma- Also very bright. She’s popular because of her looks, but she really only cares about her academics. (And maybe one or two boys). I can see her vying for valedictorian.

Aladdin- Quite literally the opposite of Kyma. He’s like James but without that classic charm. He’s definitely flunking most of his classes.

Someone being me...

I think he would be driven to seek out revenge of some kind if you did that, simply due to the fact that he's petty. Though, he might have the self-control to not murder you, if you didn't humiliate him in the process.

If we're thinking of Good Fall Rafal, he might just chastise you, but not resort to severe violence. And, psychological warfare is still fair game. It always is.

Rafal vs Rhian ( Parenting / Parents Debate )

Rafal would be the time to be alarmed if his children cough. I feel like he would be the type to always monitor and make sure his children are okay, he would always be up to date with his children. Like Rafal children would love him so much, that they'll come to him for anything.

Rhian on the other hand, I feel like he just doesn't want any kids. Like he'll be the type to leave his children in the house for days and come back and realize that his kids are there. He'll be neglectful and just... Forget.

Now his children would be close to Rafal's children if they had them together, they would have a bunch of sleepless and fun holidays together.

I also feel like Rhian would be the type of parent to teach them to be bad, like do evil things and such.

Rafal would be the type to read his children bedtime stories and kiss their forheads goodnight.

While Rhian would be the type to scream at them to go to sleep or some evil shit like that.

I also feel like there would be a difference in how their children would come out.

Rafal children would be spoiled, but they would know the difference between good and evil.

They would be obedient and never talk back, only one time did that happen.

Rhian children would be entitled and feel like everything belongs to them, they would immediately belong to Evil and this time without hesitation and they would not bat an eye at that.

Rhian and Rafal children would get along up until the point where they go to sge school and things would change.

They would go their separate ways.

Which would cause problems between Rhian and his brother Rafal.

They would not understand what the issue would be... Until everything is in the open.

Now I feel like Rafal would name his children after God's and Goddess.

That's just my opinion.

And Rhian?.

Just random ass old boring ancient names he found from Google or some shit.

But everyone can have their own opinion, I'm just stating mine.

I was scrolling around on twitter, facebook, discord, and even the forum on wiki but never seemed to find any active people! And now I'm here there's suddenly a huge community I'm speechless! The happy kind of speechless 🫶✨️

I read the School for Good and Evil first time in 2018, and the series was so captivating it never left me. I never joined any fandom before so it just always kind of danced around in my mind for a few years.

What seriously made me fell in love, though, was the Rise and Fall series! All the plot twists and drama and easter eggs to the main series, I'm in love with everything!

So glad to see the SGE fandom still active somewhere! If anyone sees this post, I'd really love to get to know you all and share our thoughts and idea and love for the series!

Looking forward to meet lovely people in the fandom!

Btw I made this sketch of the infamous scene anyone who read Rise of the SGE would know - I die for it every day 😭🫶✨️ i sketched this a while ago when I was reading the book for the first time but never got to show it to anyone

P.s. I've also been editing the fandom wiki to make things presentable since last time I checked it was a mess up there given the twists between Rise/Fall, so many things happening at once.

~Everything about green and blue~

So, after finishing Rise, I should've been shell-shocked, but actually, I wasn't... And the reason is because that had happened a while before I start reading it, when the ending was spoiled for me...🗿... (The main point of it I mean, when we realized Rhian is evil and Rafal is good)

And now the same thing happened with Fall... but to be honest, the ending of Fall wasn't that unpredictable... ( Considering the stuff that went down with Rhian)

but of course the anger and tragedy are still there, alongside an extreme urge to strangle Rhian to death.

Now that I've finished both books, I have a very big question annoyingly hanging in the air since no one seems to pay any mind or have an answer for it (yet).

Anyway here it is:

I've seen some people say that (in Rise), the twins' eye color wasn't mentioned, that we only know they have light colored eyes... Which is totally wrong!!

Yes, Rhian's eye color wasn't mentioned, but there are 4 times that Soman described Rafal's eyes as blue .

And so with all this, we know that (in Rise), Rafal, the evil schoolmaster (later the good one) has icy blue eyes.

(Tiny spoiler from Fall)

But then suddenly, in Fall, we read that Rhian's eyes are blue! (icy blue on top of that) and Rafal's eyes are GREEN!

... And it's not even the end!!

In the school for good and evil (#1), when Agust Sader possesses the good schoolmaster's soul (Rafal's soul), his hazel eyes turn blue, clearly the color of Rafal's eyes.

...So if Rafal's true eye color is green afterall, shouldn't sader's eyes have turned green instead of blue...?... And no matter what evil stuff Rhian did, I don't think he had any kind of control over the appearance characteristics or the eye color of his dead brother's ghost... :\ ...

And GOSH ! The covers also mismatch! The 1st book's cover seems to be for the second one and the second book's cover seems to be for the first one... If we put it this way, from the eye color to the plots, it'll all make sense... But in fact it's quite the contrary...

So pray tell, what the hell?!

I really am confused... Am I missing something? Did Rafal change his eye color ? Can this possibly just be a mistake? :")))

A spoiler from fall: in the ending, the part that Rafal says we were made as one,... Could that be a hint ? Like some sort of clue ...? But then again, they clearly are twins... How can their habits and personalities have changed so easily... ? And what does it have to do with their eye color ?... This just made things much more vague for me :\\\

did soman forget his own lore. didn't august sader tell rafal that he needed the readers.

hook is actually quite a good character and pissing off BOTH twins! good for him.

these evers are. wow. incredibly in character. they rly do capture the essence of good for the sake of being good? on that note, the commentary on evers being spoiled and bored in this duology has been pretty okay (if a bit. pointless? to be honest these books were pointless)

NAMELESS BOY? rhian love interest?

the idea of pan's world is actually really interesting. a place that doesn't follow good and evil, but rather chaos, which places good and evil as the opposite of chaos— order? and hook says "that's why it's so dangerous" which i guess does make sense from his pov but. i hope this concept gets explored more later

kyma questioning whether they're good is also v interesting! comparing the good pirates to evil pan (their roles are reversed, the pirates usually evil and pan usually good— also kyma seems traditional which explains her traditional fairytale view)

i also have to say that soman writes homoeroticism incredibly well and that he should have done this more if he wanted people to think his books had good lgbtq+ rep because they would eat it up

luoto bakthi is really. the villains in this series are a lot more sinister than in the proper sge series and i'm actually kind of impressed?

the concept of pans being good and their shadows being evil is v interesting especially when you remember that you kill pan by killing his shadow.

the evil always wins, it always destroys the balance. so the evil has to be eliminated by the storian. and that's why the shadow is the thing that has to be killed. wow.

Fingerglows

So, has anyone noticed that Soman didn’t actually confirm Rhian and Rafal’s fingerglow colors like he did with Agatha and Sophie?

Literally all we got in Rise and Fall was “Sharp Glow” or “Frosty” or “Warm.” Like we never got an actual color??

However, in the original series he has said Sophie and Agatha’s fingerglow colors MULTIPLE times. Agatha’s is orangeish gold, and Sophie’s is hot pink. This is common knowledge. Based on my interpretation, I think Rafal’s fingerglow is like a frosty kind of blue, and Rhian’s is golden. These two colors match their “souls” which Soman did kind of specify during Fall. Even during TLEA we never got a color for Rafal’s glow. Haven’t seen many people talking about this, so any thoughts?

The whole two prequels are so confusing. I see and understand why people are still confused.

i dont know maybe i’ll write something some au where he gets to live a normal life. i just want to see him happy but he dies betrayed by his brother and i saw this coming i literally made a whole post about it last year when the prev book came out, but that still doesn’t change the fact that i want him happy. not with anyone in particular, i just want him happy.
