Super potency elements:
Nature dragons with life accelerant in their blood, plants grow, bloom fruit and die if they simply spill it. Flora clings to their scales
Plague dragons who command bacterium, flesh and bone dissolve to its hunger. Their saliva acrid allowing them to shred through meals
Ice dragons who’s touch causes frostbite, they know how much of the body one can live without, their presence chills the room
Fire dragons who belch molten rock and choking black smoke, their bodies aglow with the eternal inferno within, they’re almost too hot to touch
Arcane dragons who can summon the cosmos, meteor showers and eclipses can be pulled into effect if they so choose. Their mouths look like jaws opening to a sea of stars, magica pools in their very DNA
Shadow dragons who can pull the light from the world around them, swaths of blackness so dark blindness would be a blessing. Their maws and eyes suck in light and appear to be black holes mounted to their faces
Earth dragons who’s bodies brim with crystals, they can be shot off their bodies with extreme force, a breath weapon is pebbles in comparison. Gems are never short in supply when they grow on you in hours or a few days
Lightning dragons who’s throats thunder and cause supercells to roll in, lightning whips from their teeth idly as they speak, being near to one is like almost touching an old box TV, the skin crawls
Light dragons who’s eyes and maw are illuminated always, their breath glows and falls like stardust when they speak. Youd think they were celestials
Water dragons who can climb waterfalls and stir whirlpools into existence, their wake is disaster on glittering scales, ships capsize on their whims
Wind dragons who’s wingbeats thunder, their bodies create their own updrafts, flight is effortless. They could pull the wind from your wings or the breath from your lungs

Dusthide Headcanon
I shall admit I was more than a little disappointed that the new breed doesn’t have lore, and it stifled my anticipation for them. But then, the new breed arrived and I realized, horribly, dreadfully, happily realized, that I can make my own headcanons. So my headcanon for the new breed is:
DUSTHIDES ARE ENEMIES/RIVALS/COMPETITION TO SNAPPERS.
When Earthshaker made Snappers he gave them powerful jaws which have a “crushing force of their beak is enough to shatter the scales and armored plating of most species”. Now then, which breeds have armored plating? Guardians yes and maybe other Snappers, Gaolers can have Scorpion and Undertides have Plating, but that is pretty much it. As to beast enemies? Forgotten Cave’s Corpse Cleaners and Reef/Dragon Snails come to mind, but most of the others are squishy (though the Burrow Bears can be a bit…prickly).
So then we have the Dusthides and they are just covered in plating. They are a competitive breed, an aggressive scrap loving breed. They are territorial, preferring to stay in their tunnel networks.  Snappers “do not seek confrontation”, they travel the majority of their lives and have difficulty with living in closed spaces. Snappers live above the Earth, Dusthides below. Yet there must have been conflict.
Snapper battle tactics are “trampling smaller foes beneath their bulk or using their powerful jaws to snap them out of the air”. Dusthides are smaller than Snappers, they “roll up until only their armored plates are exposed”, and use their wings to make short explosive jumps of movement. Perfect targets for those snapping jaws and stomping claws. However, Snappers have a weakness. “When confronted with overwhelming odds, Snappers will lower themselves to the ground, protecting their underbellies.” A soft underbelly is a perfect target for a burrowing dragon, or worse yet, the Dusthide’s like to modify the terrain with “pitfalls to surprise opponents”. These battle tactics suggest a competitive evolution between the two.
Snappers have an encyclopedic memory in order to remember which Dusthide territories to avoid. They rarely stop moving because Dusthide tunnels may lie below. I headcanon that Snappers have the ability to “listen” with their drum like feet (like elephants) and can speak long distances to their brethren with low-frequency sounds. But what if they are listening for other sounds? Like the sounds of digging beneath their toes?
The Dusthides have arisen from their tunnels due to “recent spikes in tectonic activity”, but the Earth Snappers have always known of them and the Dusthides have known of them. Stories and information play a big part in both breeds, there must have been whispered tales of these hidden dragons beneath the soil, fierce, proud, and territorial. Tales warning telling dragons to not dig so deep, to watch where one steps, to be loyal to one another, and never fight with the dragons beneath the Earth.

once again vibrating over Plague and Nature's whole thing.
Plague as pruning, cutting back the weaker wood to let the whole organism grow stronger--thinning the garden to let the remaining plants grow stronger and bigger without choking each other. Nature as rampant, unchecked growth, like a cancer--packing everything full of life and life and life until there's no room to breathe, forcing everything into a state of unending blooming and growth with no room for rest or peace. Both a response to the corrupting energies left behind by the Arcanist's birth; both desperate to survive, both absolutely ruthless in that pursuit.
Either alone would leave the world uninhabitable in a short span of time, killing everything off or swallowing the land's energy so fast it leaves it barren--to survive is to consume, and to live unchecked is to consume unchecked. But the struggle between growth and rot, as always, leaves behind fertile soil. Did the ancient beastclans follow in the paths left behind by the sisters' war, knowing that the battleground of a hundred years ago was the richest farmland of today?

Gene Origin Headcanons
Veined
A gene that originated in the Scarred Wasteland. Warriors would accentuate their battle scars with metallic highlighting or tattoos to show off everything they had survived. The practice spread to mercenary groups and warriors from other flights, and eventually, to young dragons who wanted to make themselves look more edgy without actually earning scars. Some opted for the magical route and ended up passing the trait along.
Opal
A Dragonhome original. In the Crystal Court, petrification was reserved for two things. Persevering their most respected and powerful dead and executing their most dangerous and treasonous criminals. Some rebels, however, managed to escape after partial petrification. They escaped with their lives, but not before patches of stone and crystal had grown into their bones. It was a handicap for the first few generations, but the trait softened until it was purely aesthetic.
Runes
Originally called Oathmarks. Runes were magically binding oaths seared into the oath-maker’s hide. The terms of each oath varied, but the marks would always burn and glow if the oath-maker violated the their contract. If they were not removed, the runes could be passed to offspring, though the magical binding wouldn’t. After a few generations, the marks would resemble script, but would not be legible.

okay so I know technically obbies turn into a stone related to their flight+personality but we all throw out canon lore anyway right?
PLEASE CONSIDER: an obelisk that turns into stone based on their mood

I wonder if Tundras have slightly different colors between summer and winter coats as well. Like maybe in addition to getting big and fluffy they get a little bit paler and more washed out, possibly even developing a little bit of a blue tinge. Would really scare their Coatl friends!

if I don't go on a tangent about my FR deity lore/headcanons I will go insane so it is time to do that
(a brief note is that I used to ship a few of them before I was informed that they are in fact considered siblings and retconned that idea. Their relationships are still similar in dynamic but it is no longer in a romantic sense for what I hope to be obvious reasons.)
Windsinger is a very affectionate, effeminate party animal. Icewarden is his stoic designated driver who is very annoyed with him. They hang out a lot, Windsinger's vibrant chaotic energy serving as a healthy contrast to Icewarden's cynical order and etiquette. Sometimes they do karaoke together, since both enjoy singing (though Icewarden is more private about it).
Flamecaller and Tidelord were once bitter rivals, constantly fighting more than any of the other deities. With coming centuries, of course, they began to cool off, and are still pretty good friends. They have a scheduled meeting where they meet at the border of their territories and shout insults at each other because they both find it fun.
Shadowbinder and Plaguebringer are the two loners of the deities, preferring to keep to themselves and not exactly having any other pairings. Their only relationships would be with their closer sisters (Lightweaver and Gladekeeper respectively), whom they squabble with more often than not. The two of them are also two of the four deities who have personally appointed assistants, Shadowbinder having Higgins as her secretary and Plaguebringer's head commander being Arvelle (the other two are Stormcatcher and Lightweaver, though their head employees Boston and Hope are simply freelancers who currently work for the two respectively).
Gladekeeper is the mother of the deities, prioritizing taking care of the life of the realm over all else, which includes her fellow deities to an extent. Flamecaller admires this, having no other real maternal figures to look up to since she's the oldest female deity, and as a result is very close with Gladekeeper. Gladekeeper and Lightweaver are friends, too, and occasionally meet for tea and cookies.
Earthshaker acts as the older brother of the entire family, and works tirelessly to keep them together. He is equally close to all of the deities, though the older ones such as Tidelord and Flamecaller he's closer to solely because he's been with them longer.
Stormcatcher was once best friends with Lightweaver, the two bonding once they met for being the two intellectuals of the group (both of them predated Arcanist) and putting their territories next to each other. They bonded over their collective studies, but over time their priorities began to shift. While Lightweaver focused solely on preserving the past, Stormcatcher was always chasing the future. The conflict between their opposing viewpoints caused them to separate, and the two now are no longer on good terms.
Arcanist looks up to all of the other deities as the youngest brother, though is most fond of Stormcatcher for his ambition and Windsinger for his fun energy. He and Windsinger constantly pester Stormcatcher to hang out with him, Arcanist specifically acting as the Barney to his Fred.

Okay, so, flight rising holiday headcannons go: each flight holiday has a different meaning behind it. Riot of the Rot is about survival and getting through hardships, while Mistral Jamboree is about freedom and having fun. They also have a whole bunch of territory wide activities that all clans can participate in, like Mistral Jamboree with a lantern festival and kite parade, while the Thundercrack Carnival has lightning shows and robot making contests. Those are the ones that I’m sure about. I dont really know about the other holidays.

Some pearlcatcher headcanons :3
Pearls are formed from a pearlcatcher's memories, and the color of a certain layer of a pearl depends on the overall emotion of those memories (gold for happiness, black for despair, etc) if you were to slice a pearlcatcher's pearl in half, it would look a lot like a multicolored jawbreaker.
As a result of pearls containing memories, if a pearlcatcher's pearl were to break, they would lose access to all of the memories that formed that pearl. They could still make new ones, but they would never be able to access those old memories.

i think the Sparkle gene scrolls aren’t actually enchanted. they’re just rolled up with a fuckton of glitter inside and when you unroll it in a dragon’s direction they’re just stuck being glittery for the foreseeable future

I think tundras being so scent oriented would headbutt and knead like cats do
Because cats have scent glands in their face and paws and thats how they literally mark you as family/friend
Like imagine you’re minding your own business after coming back from a clan expedition
And your tundra friend greets you and headbutts you affectionately renewing you as a friend in their little scent catalogue in their head
Like AUGH they’re so very big cat to me

Warrior's Way Snacks
Now this year is the lore it was mentioned that “We’d especially like to thank Arvelle for her generous donation towards our food budget”, and in the pamphlet for Warrior’s Way itself it mentions that “Food is available to participating warriors at all times throughout the course of the event.” So that got me thinking, what kind of food would dragons and beastclans eat during such an event?
Unfortunately, Warrior’s Way is during the summer and the heat can stifle anyone’s appetite- leading to warrior’s struggling to have the energy and hydration necessary to fight. Larger meals most likely would be served in the early morning and after sunset, and battles probably would be held off during the hottest middle of the day. But warriors would also need small meals and snacks to sustain them throughout the day. So, what kind of snacks could they expect?
Live Hornworms- a staple insect for insectivores, this import from the Mire is high in water and can be gut-loaded with either Fire Flower (for magic boost), Redblood Sapper (iron for blood), or Greenpod Bloom (calcium for bones and muscles). They are contained in large barrels with a cooling charm upon them, keeping the insects less active and from perishing in the heat.
Pickle Platter- while our most of our dragons do not sweat (I think maybe Light, Earth, and Ice dragons do), there are beastclans who definitely sweat. And with sweat comes the craving for salt. Pickled foods are high in salt, curb sugar spikes, help blood clot, and can provide the necessary electrolytes to relieve muscle cramps. The most common pickled foods are Basilisk eggs, Dubious Cucumbers, Wild Onions, Zeeba/Rambra sausages, Noxious/Leopard Caterpillar, and Kelp Beds Mackerel. Occasionally, Blacktongue Pepper is added for a spicy kick!
Cold Lume Daffodil and Spearmint Tea- every Fire Flight forge has a pot of tea cooling nearby in a large clay pot for refreshment. While Fire dragons typically prefer Cindermint, the cooling and refreshing combo of Spearmint and Lume Daffodil is a blessing on a hot summer day.  Peppermint tea may also be used for creatures having nervous stomachs for their upcoming battles.
Blood Red Smoothie- to many a Wildclaw’s sorrow this does not actually have blood. This smoothie combines Spinach, Blood Acorn, Strawberries, Blood Spath, Goat milk, and ice into a frothy, highly caloric, and nutritious drink. Sometimes it is easier to drink all of one’s calories than eat them, especially when it is hot outside. (Plus the Spirals brought these cute curly straws to drink them with!)
Cold Cut Wraps-unlike bread, flat breads can be quickly made and can be easily sized per creature.  Creating a wrap with cold cuts of meat, vegetables, and condiments makes for an easy to carry and customizable snack for busy warriors. Some favored cuts are: honeyed Featherback ham, smoked teriyaki Rainbow Trout, roasted lemon pepper Woodland Turkey, and spicy Flameleg Millipede.
Energy bites- the Longnecks are known for their Berry and Nut trail bars and the Centaurs for their Ration Pouches, and dragons have their own Elk pemmican tins and Cricket protein bars. Energy bites are a variant on this idea, mixing granola with a fat (Goat yogurt, Sunflower butter, Elk fat, ground Mealworm), Sugarbee honey, and dried fruit (Blueberries, Raspberries, Mushrooms, Butcher’s Fig) into round balls. The bites are then cooled overnight and put into bags made from Sweet Potato Vine (which is also edible), which can be carried about the event.
Shrimp and Potash Gazpacho- served by the cup or by the gallon (Imperial sized), this is a chilled soup for the seafood lovers. The base of the soup is the tangy and sour Miniature Potash Peach along with Cucumbers, Golden Peppers, and Wild Onions. And then anything seafood can be added to it! Most common is sweet Jumbo Shrimp, Pastel Scallops, and feisty Blue Swimmer Crab.

[image description: two Flight Rising sprites of Skydancer dragons, one blue and one pink. Both are wearing labcoats, and their artwork is positioned so they're facing each other as if having a conversation. End ID]
"Interesting news out of the Shifting Expanse, boss."
"The Sandsurges? I'm aware of them, Dr. Callisto. I do try to keep up with the news."
"Yes, of course, of course. Hard not to have heard about that--so soon after the Aethers' return, too..." Callisto shook her head, trying to stay focused. "However, the Baldwin Society's genetics surveyors finally put out their report on the genes present in the Sandsurge population."
Abraxas peered over his glasses dismissively at Callisto. "I'll glance through the survey later, but morphology research has little bearing on our work here."
"Even if they've discovered a gene that seamlessly blends dragon with machine?"
"A...gene. Not an augmentation? Lightning Flight is known for their elaborate prosthetics...."
"They call it an augment, but it fuses so seamlessly with the dragon's lifeweb that it can be passed down to hatchlings. The Sandsurges were reluctant to allow strangers into their hatcheries, but the researchers saw at least one newly-hatched dragon with the metal augments."
"Fascinating. So it can be done with Lightning magic..."
"Oh, yes. Apparently the Aberration genetics enthusiasts are already looking into ways to replicate the augments."
"Of course they are." Abraxas rolled his eyes, but his tail was already twitching with excitement. "Bring me a copy of that report, will you? We may need to get involved with the next expedition to the Expanse..."

Capsule
Capsule began as the infamous Crystalbelly Curse. Dragons with Crystalbelly were able to function normally, but they were left incredibly vulnerable to injury. With many vital organs condensed into a visible, liquid slosh, a single hit to the chest would lead to instant organ failure.
The curse was originally commissioned for high-security Arcane prison. Wardens thought that the vulnerability from Crystabelly would force the more violent inmates to be much more cautious and lessen the likelihood of prisoner violence or revolt. (It didn’t work, but that’s a story for another day.) It was also heritable, a huge oversight by the developers.
It took many generations, but Crystalbelly was eventually diluted into the harmless “capsule” which was just a shimmery belly gradient and doesn’t impact organ function at all. (The capsule in the site artwork depicts the original curse.)
