London, Ont., Oct. 30 - A pitched battle with a masked bandit, who used his gun to club his intended victim, ended Saturday night in the capture of Oscar Sorensen, 48 years old, laborer, of London and Toronto, as the sequel to his alleged attempted hold-up of G. E. Coleman & Co., wholesale tobacco, at 432 Rideout Street.

Sorensen’s capture was the result, the police say, of the defiance of Peter F. Buchanan, the company’s husky shipper. Faced by Sorensen wearing a handkerchief over his face, and carrying another over a gun, Buchanan lurched for the intruder’s arm, and began a fight that did not end until the marauder was in the hands of Detectives Gavin Monohan and Earl Knight. He is charged with robbery, and will appear in City Court Monday.

Buchanan was behind a showcase, not suspecting trouble, when he turned to find himself covered. The gun, afterward found to be a heavy imitation automatic, was held within arm’s length, it is alleged, as Sorensen ordered, ‘Stick them up!’ As Buchanan hesitated, Sorensen is to said to have become more commanding, adding the threat: ‘’I’ll shoot!’ Buchanan’s answer was to match the intruder’s wrist and throw him across a side counter.

Attempt to Escape Fails In the struggle, furniture was knocked over, and G. E. Coleman, attracted from a rear room, joined in overpowering the hold-up man. Sorensen, left in Bucahanan’s charge while Mr. Coleman telephoned for the police, broke loose, and dashing to the rear warehouse, took a headlong dive at the window, according to the authorities. He smashed the glass but fell back dazed from the iron bars he did not know were outside the glass. He raced back to the front office, and tried another dive against a small plate-glass window, which did not break.

Finding further fight useless, the police allege, he pleaded to be liberated, saying he was stealing to support his wife and five children. Police booked him as 48 and single. During the past year he has lived in Clarence Street, London, and Richmond Street West, Toronto.

Burglaries Admitted. Seven recent house burglaries, mostly in West London, were accounted for Saturday, when Edward Brennan, 19, and his brother, Earl Brennan, 16, registered pleas of guilty in city court. They were remanded a week for investigate and sentence. The houses the brothers admitted robbing are those of Police Sergeant Percy Last, Wharncliffe Road; Grant Fisher, son of Justice R. G. Fisher, 319 St. George Street; Wilfrid Johanson, 41 St. Andrew Stree; Walter Cotton, 48 Evergreen Avenue; Stanley Peach, 5 Carruthers Avenue; Fred Clark, 11 Guelph Street; and J. B. Paz e guerra são labirintos com características diferentes, mas vem de uma única origem: o dinheiro( econômico, contábil e financeiro)que move o mundo, o caleidoscópio camaleonico financeiro e das corporações que movem e compram os Estados em qualquer regime, ideologia, idiossincrasias à parte, culturas e sociedades à parte, corrupções à parte no tudo e no todo,recebemos a benção de Deus de termos um paraíso, mas também o inferno do Diabo para construirmos desde de edificações artísticas por pessoas com espectro autista, as mais belas obras de arte e as mais nocivas armas e combustíveis fósseis de e para guerra cíclica e ciclotimia.

A paz não gera dinheiro, ela gera valor, valores humanos de convivência, cumplicidade e existência.

A guerra gera dinheiro pois é baseada em paradoxos da dialética humana entre o bem e o mal.

A guerra nos posiciona, a paz nos emociona, a guerra faz conflitarmos e gravitarmos em torno de posições geopolíticas que nos faz ser aliados ou adversários, mas a base comum é ganhar, sair vitorioso, ser e praticar a ganância,a arrogância e a prepotência, a obsessão,obsessiva rationale determinista psicótica, neurótica, psicopata ou sociopata do lucro pelo lucro, da guerra pela guerra.

Alguns números chamam a atenção e necessitam de atualização, assim como alguns nomes, mas nomes nem sempre se referem a pessoas físicas ou jurídicas, são nomes- fantasia,

*Chevron* , que ocupa o posto de segunda maior petrolífera americana, divulgou um lucro ajustado de 5,7 bilhões de dólares.

As ações da gigante *Saudi Arabian Oil* já valorizaram mais de 25% e as ações da Exxon Mobil já valorizaram cerca de 35%.

A *Exxon Mobil* reporta o maior lucro de seus 152 anos de história.

A *Chevron* (NYSE: CVX, BDR: CHVX34) divulgou seu segundo maior lucro trimestral de todos os tempos, superando as estimativas de analistas e, impulsionada pela crescente demanda global por seu petróleo e gás e pelo aumento da produção de seus campos petrolíferos nos EUA.

De acordo com uma estimativa da *Bloomberg* , o lucro das cinco maiores empresas de petróleo do mundo será de US$ 34 bilhões nos primeiros três meses do ano. Um resultado trimestral histórico.

A gigante americana *Chevron* quadruplicou o seu lucro, enquanto a *ExxonMobil* dobrou o lucro.

Três conclusões: _primeiramente_ , na administração Biden, dois grupos de elite da política externa que costumavam competir entre si, falcões liberais e neoconservadores, fundiram-se estrategicamente, formando o mais importante consenso de política externa dentro do escalão de elite desde 1948, e levando a política de guerra do país a um novo nível; em _segundo lugar_ , considerando interesses de longo prazo, a grande burguesia dos Estados Unidos chegou a um consenso de que a China é um rival estratégico, e estabeleceu um sólido apoio para sua política externa; e, em _terceiro lugar,_ devido à estrutura da Constituição dos Estados Unidos, à expansão das forças de extrema direita e à total financeirização das eleições, as chamadas instituições democráticas de freios e contrapesos são completamente incapazes de impedir que a *_política bélica_* se alastre.

O neoliberalismo encoraja gastos militares ilimitados, mas comunistas ou socialistas de carteirinha do Brasil,Argentina Venezuela, Nicarágua, Cuba, China e Rússia não ficam atrás!

O último orçamento de Biden inclui um aumento ano a ano de 4% nos gastos militares.

Durante a pandemia de Covid-19, o governo dos Estados Unidos forneceu US$5 trilhões em incentivos, dos quais US$1,7 trilhões foram diretamente para os bolsos das *grandes corporações.*

Neste contexto os EUA junto com vários personagens protagonistas da OTAN se uniram a Israel cuja indústria bélica é uma das maiores do mundo.

O ministério da Defesa de Israel anunciou, na semana passada, que, só em 2022, arrecadou mais de US$ 12,5 bilhões em exportações no setor de armamentos.

Esse é um número sem precedentes e supera até o de 2021, que já tinha sido um recorde de US$ 11,4 bilhões.

Entre os clientes, estão até mesmo países árabes e europeus, como a Alemanha.

De acordo com o Ministério da Defesa dos EUA, a Casa Branca já forneceu US$ 2,4 bilhões em armas para a Ucrânia desde o início da invasão russa. O valor foi gasto em itens como 50 milhões de unidades de munição, 7 mil armas pequenas, 16 helicópteros Mi-16, blindados, radares, explosivos, drones, entre outros.

A guerra na Ucrânia já resultou em mais de 5 milhões de refugiados e 2.072 civis mortos, de acordo com dados da Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU). Os números de militares mortos são controversos e não foram verificados de maneira independente, mas o Ministério da Defesa da Ucrânia diz que 20.900 militares russos já morreram.

EUA usam Ucrânia e "herói" Zelensky para lucrar com venda de armas.

EUA junto com Israel usam a Palestina( Faixa de Gasa) para construírem heróis e vilões, deturparam números, tornando o número de vítimas em lucro massivo das indústrias de petróleo e armamentos, para não falarmos da indústria de alimentos e farmacêutica.

Enquanto finalizava o texto novos números de causalidade da guerra entre judeus e palestinos eclodiram:

Mais de 6 mil pessoas morreram no conflito entre Israel e Hamas, conforme os últimos dados disponíveis.

Segundo o Ministério da Saúde do Estado da Palestina, o conflito deixou 4.651 mortos e 14.245 feridos na Faixa de Gaza.

Em Israel, são 1,4 mil mortos, a maioria no ataque de 7 de outubro.

Mas números em guerras não são mel, são sangue!

Assorted Moulin Rouge! Stockholm thoughts:

I think it was Thalia's guidance that led me to the front of the balcony in this performance. You see, I've never been a fan of Moulin Rouge! the movie (mostly because of the way it's edited – the music video kinda style is too fast for me; it already feels like that inside my brain all the time, I don't need any more of that in a cinematic format), and though I've listened to the Broadway cast recording a lot, I wouldn't call myself a fan of the musical either. And yet, when they announced the Stockholm production, I knew I had to go to see it.

So, thank you, Thalia, for your guidance and blessing. The show absolutely slapped all the way through.

However... as I said, I'm not a MR! fan, so this point has probably been made a million times and I just haven't seen it, but: the love story in this is... kinda awful, right? Like, I know it's the whole point that Christian is young and naïve and goes mad with love, but oh man, when he goes full young werther near the end and the dying woman has to talk/sing him out of committing suicide in front of a whole audience of people... dunno, I just think he could've handled Satine's rejection a whole lot better, right?

Also, to me, the story would actually be more touching if Satine wasn't dying quite so actively. I know it's an adaptation of La traviata, I know their use of the dying courtesan character archetype is very deliberate – but even so, to me, it would feel more tragic if Satine had to leave with the Duke in the end, living a rich but empty life as his mistress, with only the memory of her and Christian's song left of her true love. There must be fanfics like this, I gotta go read them.

Anyway, I'm not watching and loving this for the story, I'm watching and loving it for the vibes. And the vibes were 100% right in Stockholm. It's not a serious show or something to be taken seriously at all, it's just kitch and glitz and glamour and fun, but with just enough of a dark edge to keep it interesting to me.

Speaking of Satine, though: as @veilingofthesun wrote, Marsha Songcome was made for the role. I don't really have any insights about the character or the performance (it's hard to analyse perfection), I just want to point out that she was just right for the role.

I promised you Harold Zidler posting, so here goes: I'm in love with Morgan Alling in the role. Like. It's not very girlboss feminist of me, but can't help it, middle-aged musical men are my kryptonite. I knew this was going to happen, and here we are. Alling has such a kind energy somehow, and it suits the role surprisingly well! We're creatures of the underworld, we cannot afford to love my ass – he so clearly loves Satine, not romantically of course, but loves her nevertheless. There was something so real/human about the character to me. I gotta see this again just so I can analyse him further.

Also loved Alexander Larsson as Toulouse-Lautrec. What a voice! And Fred Johanson as the Duke of course – he does a great villain and his voice is to die for, just shame about the awful wig.

Currently, MR! the musical is running in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. They're not Broadway replicas, but they're all replica productions of each other, directed by Anders Albien (+ co-directors from Norway and Denmark, I think). Seeing how they've all premiered a couple of weeks within each other, I'd love to hear about the logistics of the thing – how did the creative team manage three simultaneous productions? (Also, why is Finland not a part of this so-called "Nordic production"? Or might we be getting our share later on? I've no doubt whatsoever that MR! is coming to Finland soon, but I'm curious to see if it'll be this production or something else.)

They sung in English but spoke in Swedish. I understand this musical must be an absolute nightmare to translate, and here, since both of those are foreign languages to me, it didn't bother me too much. But if they do the same thing in the eventual Finnish production of MR!, I think I'll have a bigger problem with it, since having to switch between my native language and a foreign language feels more awkward.

tl;dr: Moulin Rouge! Stockholm slaps and I have to see it again, who's coming with me?
