This can be applicable to students studying a degree, taking a short course, or enrolling to study French in France.

There are different types of student visas in France:

Visa de court séjour pour etudes (Schengen short-stay student visa)

You can come to France and study for up to three months on this visa without a separate residence visa. This is suitable for those enrolling in a

language course

or other short-term program. It is issued free of charge and cannot be renewed.

Visa de long séjour temporaire pour etudes (temporary long-stay visa)

This visa allows you to study in France for between three and six months without a residence permit. It is non-renewable.

Visa de long séjour etudes (long-stay visa)

If you want to study longer than six months, then you need to apply for a long-term student visa. This type of study visa (which is also your residence permit) now lasts for the duration of your course in France: three years for a bachelor’s, two years for a master’s, and four years for a Ph.D. Long-stay visas act as residence permits and are called VLT-TS.

Please note that if you have previously submitted your biometrics to the Schengen VIS (Visa Information System) in the last 5 years then you don’t have to submit biometrics again. As a result, you don’t have to be at the VAC in person for the application submission for the France visa India.

Ensure that you have submitted all genuine documents & the correct information. Submission of fake documents or false information can lead to delayed procedures, and even your application can be rejected. Visa rejection can affect your future traveling.

French Visa Types

Based on the time span of stay allowed, the permit to enter France will be classified as follows-

Short-stay - Also known more commonly as the Schengen Visa, these are issued for a duration of 90 days in a 180 days’ time span. As per the purpose of the visit, the France Schengen visa types are as follows- 

Tourist - This is issued for people who are traveling or visiting the country for the purpose of tourism. This includes sightseeing, leisure activities, and so many.

Business - This type is for people traveling or visiting France for the purpose of taking part in business activities. 

Visitor - It is issued for people entering or visiting the country to visit their family members and friends.

Student - This type of visa permit is issued for people taking part in short term studies, training, internships, & so on. 

Long-stay - These types of visas are issued for people who want to stay for a longer period of time. It is granted for a duration between 90 days & 12 months. These may be for purposes such as

If you want to stay for more than a year, you need to apply for a residence permit.

A passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of travel 

Covering letter beginning the details of the applicant, & the travel

Confirmed return trip flight tickets

The fees needed for the French visa India depend on different factors such as the number of entries, the type of visa permit, stay duration, charges for biometric, as well as other service charges. FUCK. stressin' over visa shit. Can't confirm my appointment time and having mini-mental breakdowns, I'm 90% sure its Tuesday at 1pm but I'll have to wait until tomorrow to call them. Also, tomorrow is my first day of Wag Hotel AND I'm still babysitting after my shift.  ;(
