I ran 8 miles this morning! I incorporated more hills into this longer run too. I had an average 13:09 pace which made me pumped! . Last night I looked at the course description for my race next weekend and it scared me a bit.. The phrase "death by hills" came to mind. . That was motivation enough for me to step it up a bit today and head out for a longer and harder run! My legs were tired by the end but I probably could've done more so I'm happy with it! . I also saw a bobcat cross the street in front of me... So if that didn't get my legs moving, I don't know what will! 😮😺 . I'm lucky to be running this race with three of my girlfriends! Wow! What a day yesterday was. Got up early to do something, I have not trained for the way I normally would. Longest I ran before this was 10 miles. But, I managed to get it done~ ✔️ 26.2 miles = a marathon. Quite a distance and it is daunting. I’m so thankful for the friends that put this together. John and Jim for organizing it. Mark and Brandy for putting out the fallen soldiers for the blue mile. For Heather, Janice and her friend for riding the course and being such an amazing support crew. When I made the turn around and just finished my water, Janice appeared to save save me. Rode with me for about a mile. To the rest of the striders for your unconditional support! To Holly, who changed from the half to the full to run with Trecia (who is such an inspiration to all of us). To Angel for running every 👏 single 👏 runner 👏 in! To Jaz who ran out to make sure no one was left behind. I am lucky to call you all my friends~ Thank you all for the support. I thoroughly enjoyed yesterday. After completing my last race of 2017, I hung up my bibs and medals on my new display right inside my front door. This represents 15 races, 94.069 miles raced, 2 states races in (WA & NV), sweat, blood, tears and a whole lotta good friends and family behind me! Even the days when I didn’t want to train were worth it! I look at this display, and I’m so grateful for the months of training (15-20 miles a week isn’t easy), the hours and overnighters babysitting Ellie Jo (thank heavens for grandparents and cousins!), and my running buddies who never leave my side and drive me to every race. I don’t mind being “princess.” :) But now this girl starts focusing on the Tempe Rock & Roll Half Marathon in January.... and apparently, the Resolution Run.
