Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA) announces the Centre Stage Festival, a two-day cultural spectacle on December 8th and 9th, 2023 at Sunder Nursery. Featuring five young performers from the world of dance and music, the festival promises to be a vibrant celebration of creativity and cultural expression. Through this festival, KNMA honours India’s rich and abundant cultural traditions and serves as a platform to showcase and nurture these extraordinary artists.

The Centre Stage festival is set to unfold as a cultural highlight, presenting the exceptional talents of young and emerging artists reshaping the cultural landscape. Aniruddh Aithal, a 25-year-old Hindustani classical vocalist, will captivate the audiences with his soulful renditions, while 13-year-old Bharatanatyam dancer, Akshatha Viswanath exudes incredible energy, displaying a mastery in Bharatanatyam that transcends her age. In the genre of Western classical music enthusiasts can anticipate a mesmerizing performance by Anuvrat Choudhary, an accomplished musician with accolades in national-level piano competitions and a rich background in music education and pedagogy. Anuvrat will be performing two duets featuring 14-year-old Martina Charles, a violin prodigy known for completing all 8 grades in violin from Trinity College London and achieving the Fellowship of Trinity College London (FTCL), a rare accomplishment as the youngest in India and the first in Kerala. The second duet will be with Eera Gupta, a dancer, trained in jazz, contemporary and modern dance.

Welcome Joyce! Violinist Joyce Lee was a fellow and co-concertmaster in TŌN (The Orchestra Now) in New York until moving to Toronto. She has served as concertmaster for various orchestras in the past, including the Chung Chi Orchestra of CUHK, the Pro Arte Orchestra of Hong Kong and the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of Hong Kong. She also performed internationally at the Pacific Music Festival and in the Asian Youth Orchestra. Joyce earned an M.M. in Violin Performance at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music. Born and raised in Hong Kong, she received a B.A. in Music from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and then an FTCL post-graduate certificate from Trinity College London. In 2014, Joyce earned the Western Instrument Scholarship First Prize in the 7th Hong Kong Students Open Music Competition. She also won the Golden Prize in the violin open class in the Hong Kong Bauhinia Cup String Competition. In the same year, she was awarded the Dr. T. H. Yip Memorial Scholarship of the E & R Foundation.  In addition to violin, Joyce studied orchestral conducting with Choi Ho Man. She conducted the CUHK Student Orchestra as well as the APSKT Alumni Symphony Orchestra in 2015. Preggo’s Skin Care Journey

Hola Preggo!

Gimana rasanya jadi preggo? Asik ya! Mulai dari triwulan pertama yg penuh drama, triwulan kedua yg mulai terasa si bayi gerak-gerak, sampe triwulan 3 yg udah ga sabar banget ingin ketemu sama si bayi.

Well, adakah yg mengalami disaster di wajah saat mulai hamil? Hmm I do. Semua orang yg ketemu aku langsung kaget, shock. Semua orang bilang, “Ini lo tik?”

Dimulai dari keharusan untuk berhenti dari obat dokter pas hamil, mulai lah disaster di wajah ini dimulai. Kusam, hitam, dan penuh jerawat. Anyway, karena sudah ga berdaya untuk merhatiin muka, akhirnya pasrah. Sampe usia kandungan sekitar 12 weeks, barulah kepikiran untuk “ngebenerin” muka.

Dimulai dengan googling dan baca beragam pengalaman bumil-bumil, akhirnya aku memutuskan untuk memulai kembali dengan The Bath Box - Goats don’t lie, sebuah cleanser atau facial wash organik yg berbahan dasar susu kambing ettawa. Daaannn, setelah seminggu pakai, alhamdulillah, jerawat segede-gede jagung itu akhirnya kempes juga. Tapi ternyata, selama pakai The  itu, jerawat ga bener-bener hilang, tapi tetep aja datang dan pergi. Oke lah gak apa-apa, at least, mendingan :)

Masuk usia kandungan 16 weeks, mulailah keluar centilnya, ingin cantik yg sampe menggebu-gebu apalagi kalo lagi throwback ngeliat foto-foto lama. Sad! So, what i did then? I’m keep on searching, observing, and trying to get more information. Daaaannn, akhirnya aku memutuskan untuk mencoba SK-II. Sempat ngerasa gak cocok dgn skincare satu ini beberapa tahun yg lalu, gak tau kenapa kali ini yakin banget untuk balik pake SK II.

So, here’s my favorite skincare routine during pregnancy!

Untuk cleanser, aku pake Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser semenjak patah hati akibat The Bath Box belum juga restock produk-produknya. Anyway, so far so very good using this cleanser. Gak berbusa, gak pedih di mata dan gak menimbulkan efek sakit/perih sehabis pemakaian, mungkin karena cleanser ini gak mengandung deterjen kali yaa :) Cetaphil ini juga termasuk cleanser yang banyak direkomendasikan dokter lho! Cara pakainya sebenarnya bisa ada 2, with/wiithout water. Tapi kalau aku pribadi lebih suka pake air, karena agak awkward aja kalau cuci muka gak pake air hehe.

Setelah itu, biasanya aku pakai Avene Thermal Spring Water. Produk ini sebenarnya aku gunakan setelah keracunan beberapa blog-nya bumil yang mengalami masalah wajah yang mirip denganku saat hamil, yap, jerawat. Beradarkan review bumil-bumil gemes itu, Avene ini bisa ngebantu untuk meredakan jerawat, tapi tetep ya, ga bisa instan. Kalau menurut beberapa sumber, Avene ini punya beberapa fungsi, yaitu untuk  soothing (menenangkan), anti inflamasi, juga anti inflamatory. Selain itu, Avene juga diklaim bisa meredakan ruam popok atau alergi pada bayi. Terus, gimana setelah digunakan? Well, alhamdulillah, enak, bikin hydrating dan selama ini jadi jarang keluar jerawat seukuran jagung kayak dulu.

After that, aku pakai my-super-holy-grail-essence! Lebay, tapi ini bener. SK-II Facial Treatment Essence atau yang biasa disebut FTE. Sedikit cerita, sekitar tahun 2013, aku pernah coba “kenalan” sama SK-II ini, tapi a big totally NO! Dulu kulitku jadi kusam hitam, jelek deh pokoknya. Usut punya usut, ternyata SK-II ini memang gak bisa dicampur atau dipakai bareng sama obat dokter atau skin care kimiawi yang mungkin penuh merkuri hahaha. Makanya, di kulitku ternyata gak ngefek sama sekali pas aku coba-coba waktu itu. Nah, sekarang, berhubung sudah sekitar 4 bulan kulitku gak tersentuh obat dokter dan unsur-unsur kimiawi berbahaya lainnya, aku beranikan diri untuk pakai SK-II. Based on beberapa review, SK-II ini diklaim aman digunakan untuk ibu hamil dan menyusui karena kandungannya yang masih terhitung alami. Berdasarkan rekomendasi BA di counter SK-II Sogo Mall Kelapa Gading, finally aku memulai dengan Welcome Set yang isinya FTE, Facial Treatment Clear Lotion dan RNA cream.

Jadi gimana setelah pakai FTE? wohoooo, superb! sempet purging dan nongol jerawat kecil-keci lumayan banyak dan 2 jerawat besar, ternyata dalam waktu kurang dari seminggu langsung lenyap semua jerawatnya, bahkan sampai sekarang jerawat terhitung jarang nongol, kalaupun ada cuma 1 atau 2 yang ukurannya kecil. Selain itu, tekstur kulitku juga jadi membaik, lebih halus dan enak deh pokoknya. Perlahan-lahan juga kusam mulai menghilang, and I’m so happy with it!

selain FTE, aku juga sempat pakai SK-II Facial Treatment Clear Lotion atau yang biasa dikenal dengan FTCL. FTCL ini adalah semacam toner untuk membersihkan sisa-sisa kotoran di wajah. Honestly, aku cuma pakai ini kurang lebih 2 minggu. Bukan karena gak cocok, tapi lebih karena setelah googling ternyata FTCL ini mengandung Salicylic Acid yang kurang baik untuk digunakan oleh Ibu Hamil. Dan akhirnya, FTCL pun nganggur.

Nah, skip si FTCL tadi, untuk penggunaan pagi, aku pakai SK-II RNA Power Cream sebagai moisturizer. Hasilnya? muka jadi halus dan lembut banget. Selain itu, moisturizer ini juga lumayan ngebantu kulitku untuk mengurangi tanda-tanda penuaan dini berhubung kulitku punya masalah flek hitam turunan yang cukup mengkhawatirkan dipadukan dengan bekas jerawat yang semakin menambah corak polkadot di wajahku. Sad.

Kalau untuk malam, biasanya aku pakai SK-II Genoptics Spot Essence yang kuanggap sebagai jurus andalanku untuk menghilangkan berbagai noda di wajah. sudah 2 bulan penggunaan serum ini, alhamdulillah noda bekas jerawat sudah bisa terbilang hilang (tinggal bekasnya dikiiiit banget). Tapi kalau untuk flek hitam turunan memang agak susah sih, sampai sekarang pun aku bertekad untuk tetap tekun pakai serum ini, siapa tau sedikit demi sedikit bisa memudar.

So far, sebenarnya cuma itu sih skin care yang aku pakai. Kalau untuk penggunaan pagi dan siang, setelah pakai moisturizer biasanya aku pakai make up seperti biasa (BB essence/cream, concealer, bedak, lipstick, eyeliner, maskara dan teman-temannya masih on point sebenarnya). Kalau untuk malam, berakhir dengan serum Genoptic Spot Essence itu.

2 bulan pemakaian memberikan hasil yang cukup berarti buat wajahku. Alhamdulillah. Sayangnya aku lupa untuk foto before and afternya hehe.

Well, that’s my skincare journey during pregnancy. Barangkali bisa menginspirasi bumil-bumil di luar sana yang mengalami kebingungan seperti aku dulu hehe. But, I’m not an expert, I just share my experience which actually worked on me. Dan tingkat keberhasilannya juga tergantung sama jenis kulit setiap orang yaaa! :)

Oh ya, sebagai patokan penggunaan kosmetik/skin care, aku biasanya berkiblat sama artikel ini sih. Menurutku itu cukup membantu dan valid.
