IS THE FRENCH QUARTER IN NEW ORLEANS

The Underking, the reapers, the mausoleums/crypts, THE VIPER QUEEN—heavy voodoo motifs!!!! SJM even writes that they are somewhat close to the ocean and there are marshes near Crescent City. THE BAYOU?!?! THE GULF OF MEXICO?!?! Crescent City is the French Quarter and you can’t tell me otherwise.

Fury Axtar - Like WTF, she is such as badass character, with this whole hinted Holy Trinity of Sleek Black Bobs thing (Amren, Viper Queen and Fury) and she has been reduced to fetching things for Bryce (drugs, helicopters, guns, ski gear)

Ariadne - where'd she go? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sofie Renast - SJMaas keeps bringing her up but why? Is she important or not?

Sigrid Fendyr - circumstances (*cough* Ithan) keep getting in the way, but she must be destined for more than just sucking souls

Cooper Renast/Quinlan - just to keep Ember company?

Baxian - Official hand biter and Avallen babysittter. Reluctant flerd wrangler.

I hope that all these characters are just being set up for more exploration in future books (Rhysand in ACOTAR 1) but I'm starting to get the feeling that this is just it, and it's a case of too many side characters, too little time. I mean even Tharion, Ithan and Hypaxia's stories felt a little squashed to me, like there wasn't enough room for them to be main characters.

-Viktoria, umm come back?

-Hunt, the breeding and demon receptiveness and odd smell? It’s giving unknown. It’s giving experiment. So gotta put you here too. Plus, the “shadow of death” title? Unleash yourself!

-Fury, you’re defaulted to this house. Just keep killing!
