Now let’s be fr. I watched the 8th episode of Found and FINALLY saw a glimpse of the promise. This show has a delicious premise but it has not tried to capitalize on it at all. Y’all do not tune into this show for the missing person of the week. You come for the dynamic between Sir and Gabi. That’s the draw and this is the first time since it started that I got chills and felt like we were getting somewhere.

Now… the writing…🤦🏿‍♀️ I’m pretty good at following a story. Even though I feel like there’s a sexual undertone in Sir’s interest in Gabi, I’ve been leaning more toward “father figure” just to be pc, but what was that “tell me you love me” scene? Even though I know what I know, I follow y’all lead. What was that?

I thought it was so interesting that there's an implication that Hugh (I'm not calling him Sir--he's not my Daddy Dom) knew Gabi before he took her. It kind of feeds into my theory that he took her with this idea that she'd become his mentee. Almost like a daughter figure.

OH WAIT AND ALSO we learned that Gabi's father was pretty neglectful when it came to her school life and that she held a little bit of resentment towards him for it.

Now I'm wondering if Hugh was one of her high school teachers who thought he could "SAVE" this brilliant, sharp student from a life of presumed neglect 👀

It's also fascinating to see how much he changed, personality wise, in the 20 years since Gabi's escape. He's a lot less....theatrical...in the present day. He seems more grounded in reality and not in whatever weird fantasy world he was in where they could run away to Paris and she'd just happily go along with it.

Side note: Him saying "I'm not the monster you think I am" was so funny to me. Because, good sistren, you kidnapped two girls (that we know of). Like you think because you're not a pedo you're not a terrible person? TUH.

Last week must have been wild for me cuz I completely forgot to watch Found. Anyway I just watched the episode; all I can say is what the f***?? I can't describe what I just experienced here. It definitely feels like Sir does not see Gabi like his daughter anymore. They truly have this really really confusing behind chemistry going on.

You can't have lines like we belong together we're partners tell me you love me and still be like oh this is not sexual in the slightest. It sure as hell ain't platonic or familial either. But I can't even get mad because they were the whole reason I got into the show in the first place. It's just leaving me with a headache because of all the confusion. I wasn't expecting him to hate Lacey though.

Also are they trying to start something between Zeke and Lacey? I honestly wouldn't care either way but man it is going to be awkward in their office if any of them become involved. Though I do like that Lacey and Dhan both see Zeke's place as a safe space.

I didn't see the promo but apparently Lacey is going to confront Gabi and I need to see how this plays out. It's been a long time coming.

Found Finale and Review

(Couldn’t find a gif of the specific episode, so I found one to represent how I feel watching it. )

I finished Found! I just love the actress playing young Gabi! She is such a scene stealer! She kills it every single time! Don’t get me wrong, everyone does a good job on the show, but young Gabi has a special place in my heart.

I love the fucked up thing between Gabi and Sir, but I am so down bad for the “yes ma’m” thing between her and Trent. He adores her. He worships her. He can not live without her. He just won’t kidnap her and be fucked up about it like Sir.

Trent would do anything for her. He wants to protect her, but if she wants him out of her way he will move. He might fight her on it but he will move.

This last episode? So dynamic. Dhan and the conversation between him and his husband. The emotions between everybody, just reeling and spiraling! Especially Gabi! The erratic pacing.

Ethan showing up to Dhan’s job to confront Gabi??!?!? I know it’s serious and everything. But the petty drama of it all is sending me on a thrill ride of emotion and glee! I am ecstatic! (Sorry not sorry🙏���)

The abuse?? Wym it was the momma? The dad saying “hell won’t be a safe enough place for you?”Insane work.

I’ve never noticed “bad writing” in this show for real, but there’s a lot of questions this episode brings up for me. If a Grandma was a real one, I don’t believe they would ever put their grandbaby in some captive room. I think they’d handle it so differently, and I think a father would notice if a wife was hurting a child. However, it usually plays out in an ignorance is bliss kind of way. Because no one would believe their partner would be so lowdown to a child they brought into the world together. The logistics of that not being noticed is just hard to believe.

It’s all confusing to me, but the drama of it all was still entertaining.

Sir in that closest leads me to believe we don’t know what he is fully capable of. Everyone is growing and changing for the better over the years, so he has to be growing and changing into something worse. Like he might have new unlocked levels of creepiness and insanity we aren’t aware of yet.

I am so excited for season 2!

Popping in after a long Tumblr break to say:

1. I refuse to accept Found’s attempt to sink my DhanZeke ship. Zeke has two hands. I’ve had OT3s before.

2. This episode was probably the best one of the season. It made me the most anxious I’ve ever been. I audibly shouted “BITCH WHAT?” maybe 3 times.

3. MPG continuously leaves me conflicted. Sir skeeves me out SO BAD but there’s something about MPG’s delivery of the obsessive neediness that makes everything feel very…👀

4. Lacy deserves to know. And I don’t like that Gabi is gaslighting her. Once Lacy finds out the truth, Idk how she’ll forgive her.

5. The only solution is death. If she beats Sir to death with a baseball bat, all her problems will be solved.

6. She won’t kill Hughbert. It’d be very easy to do it. She’s threatened to do it. But she won’t. Because on some level Gabi feels as codependent as he does. And he knows that. Which is why he made her admit that she needed him and that he was her partner…and not just in solving cases. So at this point this man deadass thinks they’re together.
