this was such a pivotal moment in ryusoulger since it was the first time gaisorg actually came back into the plot proper since his debut in saikyo battle but void knight's been here the whole damn time

okay before that actually gets people i’ll explain. it’s more accurate to say “Ohkuwagata Ohger is the Stacaesar of Kingohger”

since Kyuranger - though it’s much more noticeable since Zenkaiger - we’ve had an almost consistent toyline trend of a ‘dark’ version of a retail transformation device, usually the original one, at premium bandai and usually around the first third of the show that results in an extra ‘dark’ ranger in that show. Hebitsukai Metal, Gaisorg, Dark Kiramai Silver/Yodonna, Stacaesar, Don Murasame, and now Ohkuwagata Ohger.

It’s obviously been a bit fluid in what it actually results in but recently it’s flattened out into a more standard ‘dark counterpart of the Red Ranger’ (which you can also take to mean as Don Murasame being the most normal thing about Donbrothers). Recently the trend has also involved a dark version of the main mech existing somewhere and having some kind of release, which we’ve also seen is the case in the last couple episodes. We technically don’t have a toy listing for the Ohgercalibur ZERO yet but another strange little thing about this trend is that it takes a while for them to actually sell the damn thing that’s been on screens for weeks

A pretty goofy villain all things considered, but I love his friendship with Kleon.

I god damn hated his character in the good way. Conniving and psychopathic.

#1 : The Noto Trio

The goofiest yet most invested in monster trio I've ever seen. From Sonoza's unlikely friendship with OniSister, Sononi's complicated love with InuBrother. To the god damn bromance/yaoi undertones between Sonoi and DonMomotaro

honestly I don't know what they're trying to do with ohkuwagataohger bc he is such a plain grey color and has nothing to make him stand out. devoid of swag. he does have his own sword but who is going to want to buy racles's sword that turns you into a less cool version of kuwagataohger. if we assume he's supposed to be in the same vein as gaisorg/stacey/murasame I think he fails bc he doesn't look or act cool??

maybe he sucks rn bc they're saving a cooler upgrade for a future redemption arc?

Can I ask you one question? Why do you think Ryusoulger is bad or trash as you put it like that.

Honestly, I've gone back and forth between if I find Ryusoulger really disappointing or if it was that bad. When it first came out I was hyped for it and evne now there were things I did enjoy! I loved the rangers dynamic. I really felt like they were a team and I enjoyed their antics. Wyzel and Kerron were always fun. Tyramigo I will defend till the end. Without going into too much and this becoming a rant, the story was...nearly non existent. The whole thing with Gaisorg and Nada sucked. His death had no emotional impact on me and could care less about him. He literally died to become Koh's power up... The whole last 3rd of the show just falls apart and it ends with the one of the most disappointing endings I've seen in a sentai yet.

If this is yours or anyone else favorite sentai, more power to you, but it didn't work for me.
