Happy Day Great People; when It comes to GREATNESS and TRAILBLAZING it is with PLEASURE that we introduce and recognize RETIRED Chief Latosha Denise Clemons, she was hired with the City of Boynton Fire Department on June 20 1996. She is the FIRST and “ONLY” Black Women hired by the BBFD as a Firefighter, in the Department History establish 1924. Promoted through the ranks always in the TOP 3. #1 on the Lieutenant’s Promotional Exam, #3 on the Captain’s Promotional Exam, #2 on the Battalion Chief’s Promotional Exam. She possesses a Masters Degree in Executive Management and Executive Fire Officer and she was appointed to Deputy Chief December 2016. She RETIRED March 1, 2020 and is also a MAJOR SUPPORTER of Geared Up For Fire. As she is aware of the challenges that we are currently faced with in these times; she did not find it a difficult decision to agree to extend her participation as a Guest Speaker/Presenter at the next/rescheduled date of the Geared Up For Fire Event in 2021 in SUPPORT of our Mission. We are EXCITEDLY awaiting to witness HER DELIVERY and to CELEBRATE HER. Our mission at Geared Up For Fire is to empower and mentor youth development for life/career choices; as we unify and “CONNECT FIREFIGHTERS with the COMMUNITY” and never before has that mission been put to a great test. Due to the global pandemic caused by COVID-19. We appreciate Latosha Denise Clemons for supporting and strongly standing with us to carry out our MISSION.
