God is so good!
Up until a few months ago, I had car insurance through Geico. I was their customer for years never had any issues. Things changed when I moved to Florida. To sum up what happened: Back in January, Geico hit me with a $535 dollar bill out of the blue. My 6-month contract with them had just come to term, and they said the price they'd quoted me back when I got the policy was accidentally too low, and for the whole six months they didn't charge me enough, and so I needed to pay up. I told them (politely) to pound sand. I'd paid every cent of the agreed upon amount, all payments were in full and on time. They said I owed them the money anyway. I refused to pay it. Fast forward a month, and I get a letter from a collection agency (no surprise). Geico wants $535 dollars.
I took the situation to the Lord in prayer. It was unjust, but should I just pay it? It would set us back with other bills, but I didn't want my credit to take a hit. I decided to report it to the Better Business Bureau and just pray and see what happens.
Two days ago, an executive from Geico called me, apologized for the whole thing, withdrew the charge and cleared everything up with the collection agency.
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who hears and answers the prayers of His people! Blessed be the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, who makes us right with God!

oh the joys of being an adult - shopping for car insurance because the current one went up again and the convenience of staying/familiarity of this particular company is no longer outweighing shopping around
so if anyone has any thoughts on progressive or geico? they're who I will most likely switch to, I currently have state farm and I've priced allstate but they're too expensive. also won't do nationwide or farmer's because they don't technically operate in florida, but have partners that do and I'd rather deal with the actual company, not a subsidiary/partner

Even if your insurance company doesn't offer this discount, becoming a safer driver can still help you avoid accidents and keep your premiums down. Affordable car insurance is within reach if you understand the factors affecting your rates and know how to navigate the market. Remember, it's not only about finding the cheapest car insurance in Pennsylvania; it's about finding the best policy that suits your unique needs. I am going to GUSH about my experience... WITH CAR INSURANCE!
Before the gushing begins, though - I want to point out that I am a typical Canadian: a socialist leaning capitalist.  I believe that people should be able to build wealth and success through hard work, talent, and even luck. I don’t think this should be limited, but I do believe that everyone should contribute to the success of the people as a whole, including helping those who need it. (I don’t think many Americans understand socialism, actually)
I used to be more socialist when I was younger, as everything was a ‘Crown Corporation’. Health care, utilities, insurance, banks - all owned by the government. Through my experiences, though - I’ve come to realize that while some entities should always be government run (health care, banks), some are best left to private corporations (READ: CAR INSURANCE).
I have had many different car insurance policies, from both private and public insurance providers. I have NEVER had an experience to compare with my most recent one:
I was driving to hockey on the Interstate a few Saturdays ago when the traffic ahead came to a quick stop.  I broke hard, and as I did I looked in my rear view mirror (thanks, defensive driving course at 15). I saw that the Jeep behind me  was not going to be able to stop. So, I veered into the left shoulder, but could not get over fast enough.  BOOM! My precious Mustang GT350 got whacked in the rear bumper.
We got out, assessed the damage, and the driver admitted fault. In order to save time, I just captured his admission on video instead of waiting for the police on the side of a very busy freeway.
A couple weeks later, I got a call from Geico (the other driver’s insurer - I have Progressive [shout out to Flo!!]} She was extremely friendly, empathetic, and was calling to say that they were arranging to fix my vehicle at no cost to me.  WHAT? No trying to place partial fault to claim my deductible against the damage?  What’s this insanity??  She told me they would  be providing a rental car while mine was fixed (they actually gave me a Camaro - they tried to match the Shelby :) ).  She also said it was up to me to pick whatever shop I wanted, but they had a special service called Geico Auto Repair Xpress that streamlines the process with a lifetime guarantee.  I thought, “why not?”.
I booked the appointment for Dattilo’s Collision Center for the next day.  I have never, ever received the level of service I did through this repair:
I pulled up and they were waiting for me
They went over the damage right there and assured me they would contact with their estimate before proceeding
They fully explained the entire process and got my blessing
They walked me to the desk and the Enterprise guy was there
He got me checked into my rental and on my way.
Dattilo’s was on the way to work, but I was only 8 minutes later to work than usual - amazing!
They did not cheap out on parts, there was a scrape on my valance, and instead of repairing it they replaced the whole thing
They didn’t just wash my car, they DETAILED it, including wheels and polish
They gave me a lifetime guarantee on the work!
Geico has always seemed to me to be the bargain bin of insurance - big and cheap. I was worried about them cutting corners but they did just the opposite.  Everything was fabulous, including the service.
If this was MPI or ICBC (two public insurers I had previously) they would have accused me of being at fault, been rude and short, cut corners, gave me no choices, and returned me a dirty car.  I know this because I have experienced it on more than one occasion.
2 takeaways:  Firstly, its time to do away with public insurance in Canada - you are not getting value for your premiums.  Secondly, Geico is a fantastic company to deal with. I am probably going to switch back to them when my Progressive policy expires (though they have been great, too!)

New Mexico, the enchanting "Land of Enchantment," poses its unique set of challenges when it comes to car insurance. In line with our guides on Florida, Texas, and New York, this article will help you navigate through the process of securing the most cost-effective car insurance in New Mexico. Exploring the Cost Spectrum Just like any other state, the cost of car insurance in New Mexico greatly varies based on several factors including your age, driving history, the type of vehicle you own, and even your area of residence. Moreover, the insurance provider you select can significantly influence your annual premium. As such, it's prudent to do your research and compare rates, much like you would when seeking coverage in Arizona or New Jersey. "Comparison is key to saving on car insurance. Gather multiple quotes and scrutinize each to find the best possible deal." It's also essential to remember that New Mexico follows a "fault" system for car accidents. This implies that the driver who is at fault for an accident is held liable for any ensuing harm or damage. Hence, maintaining an adequate level of liability coverage is both a legal requirement and a prudent measure to protect you from potential financial hardship. Grasping New Mexico's Insurance Requirements Before investigating how to get cheap car insurance in New Mexico, understanding the state's insurance requirements is crucial. New Mexico, like California or any other state, mandates that drivers maintain a minimum amount of liability insurance: $25,000 for bodily injury or death to one person $50,000 for bodily injury or death to multiple people in one accident $10,000 for property damage "Keep in mind, these are just the minimum requirements. You may need additional coverage depending on your situation and the value of your assets." Now, let's take a closer look at the most affordable car insurance providers in New Mexico, as reported by several trustworthy sources like WalletHub, Bankrate, and NerdWallet. WalletHub's Ratings According to WalletHub, these are the monthly premiums for some of the cheapest car insurance companies in New Mexico: State Farm: $56 Geico: $57 Progressive: $58 Farm Bureau Financial Services: $59 USAA: $47 (specifically for military members and their families) Bankrate's Findings Bankrate reported the following annual premiums: USAA: $429 State Farm: $518 Geico: $528 Progressive: $538 Farm Bureau Financial Services: $548 NerdWallet's Suggestions NerdWallet also provided monthly premium rates: State Farm: $56 Geico: $57 Progressive: $58 Farm Bureau Financial Services: $59 USAA: $47 (for military members and their families) As these figures indicate, the cheapest car insurance companies in New Mexico can vary based on the source. It underlines the importance of comparing quotes from multiple insurers to secure the best deal for you. Factors Affecting Car Insurance Costs in New Mexico When calculating your car insurance premium in New Mexico, several factors come into play. These factors can influence the final cost of your coverage. Let's take a closer look at some of the key elements that insurers consider: 1. Age Age plays a significant role in determining car insurance rates. In general, younger drivers, especially those under 25 years old, tend to face higher premiums due to their limited driving experience and higher risk of accidents. Conversely, more seasoned drivers with a longer track record of responsible driving often enjoy lower insurance rates. "Remember, your age is not something you can control, but you can take advantage of discounts and driving courses to potentially reduce your premiums." 2. Driving Record Your driving record is a critical factor insurers assess to determine your insurance premiums. If you have a clean driving history without any accidents or traffic violations, you are generally seen as a lower risk, leading to more affordable rates.
However, drivers with a record of accidents, tickets, or other traffic infractions may face higher premiums as they are considered higher-risk individuals. "Maintaining a clean driving record is not only crucial for your safety but can also save you money on car insurance." 3. Vehicle Type The make and model of your vehicle can significantly impact your car insurance rates. Insurers evaluate factors such as the car's age, its safety features, its market value, and its susceptibility to theft when determining premiums. Generally, newer cars with advanced safety features and lower theft rates may result in more affordable insurance rates. "Before purchasing a vehicle, it's a good idea to research its potential impact on your insurance premiums." 4. Coverage Limits The coverage limits you choose for your car insurance policy can affect the cost of your premiums. Higher coverage limits provide greater protection in the event of an accident but may result in higher insurance costs. Conversely, selecting lower coverage limits might reduce your premiums but leave you exposed to potential financial risks if an accident occurs. It's essential to strike a balance between adequate coverage and affordable premiums. "Evaluate your coverage needs carefully. Consider your assets, driving habits, and financial situation when determining the appropriate coverage limits for you." By understanding these factors, you can gain insight into how car insurance premiums are calculated. It's important to keep them in mind as you navigate the process of finding the cheapest car insurance in New Mexico. Tips for Finding Affordable Car Insurance in New Mexico Finding the cheapest car insurance in New Mexico requires some research and careful consideration. Here are some tips to help you secure affordable coverage without compromising on quality: 1. Compare Quotes from Multiple Insurers As mentioned earlier, car insurance rates can vary significantly among different providers. To ensure you're getting the best deal, obtain quotes from multiple insurers. Visit websites or contact insurance agents to request personalized quotes tailored to your specific needs and circumstances. By comparing quotes, you can identify the insurers offering the most competitive rates. 2. Take Advantage of Discounts Many car insurance companies offer various discounts that can help lower your premiums. Common discounts include those for safe driving records, bundling multiple policies (such as car and home insurance) with the same insurer, installing anti-theft devices in your vehicle, or completing defensive driving courses. Inquire about available discounts when obtaining quotes to maximize your savings potential. 3. Consider Raising Your Deductible The deductible is the amount you're responsible for paying out of pocket before your insurance coverage kicks in. By opting for a higher deductible, you can lower your premium costs. However, be sure to choose a deductible amount that you can comfortably afford to pay in the event of an accident or damage to your vehicle. 4. Evaluate Coverage Needs Assess your coverage needs based on your individual circumstances. While it may be tempting to choose the minimum required coverage to save money, this may leave you financially vulnerable in the event of a significant accident. Strike a balance between affordability and sufficient coverage to protect yourself and your assets adequately. 5. Maintain a Good Credit Score In some states, including New Mexico, insurance companies may use your credit history to determine your premiums. Maintaining a good credit score can help you qualify for better rates. Pay your bills on time, keep your credit card balances low, and regularly review your credit report for any inaccuracies. 6. Seek Professional Advice If navigating the world of car insurance seems overwhelming, consider consulting an independent insurance agent or broker.
These professionals have expertise in the insurance industry and can guide you through the process of finding the most cost-effective coverage options that meet your needs. "Remember, finding affordable car insurance is not just about the price. It's also about ensuring that you have the right coverage to protect yourself and your assets." By following these tips, you can increase your chances of finding the cheapest car insurance in New Mexico without sacrificing the quality of coverage. Stay tuned for the next section, where we will explore some of the best car insurance companies in the state based on their affordability and customer satisfaction ratings. #SportyConnect

Business insurance explained, with Canna Campbell.
Business insurance explained, with Canna Campbell. “When you can t say no to anyone, when you feel like your life insurance company is helping you, there just isn t going to be any, she says. No health issues. There won’t be anything that can break your bank. In many cases, we wouldn t necessarily need to take insurance to cover our medical bills because there would still be a cost with the risk of serious injury, which is an amount that you have to pay out of pocket in the event you get injured, and there s also the high costs of medical expenses as well,” Campbell explains with Canna Campbell. “This helps people understand that no matter where you are getting your policy, there is a possibility that you could be denied coverage on the basis of your medical history. This is more of an insurance and not a medical issue. In fact, any medical issues that would arise while a policy is being offered to a person will usually have to be addressed to their insurer..

When it comes to sports and saving money, it's all about strategy. Here at SportyConnect, we've got game plans for both. In this article, we'll tackle affordable car insurance, with a spotlight on Oklahoma. However, as in any sports league, we have insights for other states, too. Oklahoma, with its picturesque landscapes of plains, hills, lakes, and forests, is as unique as the strategies your favorite sports team employs on the field. But when it comes to car insurance, Oklahoma drivers need to devise their own winning strategy. Hunting for affordable car insurance isn't just about the bottom line. It's about finding a policy that provides the best coverage for your needs, while still being budget-friendly—akin to maintaining a balanced offense and defense in sports. Let's kick-off with a look at factors influencing car insurance rates in Oklahoma, and how the state's drivers can get the best deals. Factors That Influence Car Insurance Rates Just as there are numerous factors that contribute to the final score in a sports match, car insurance rates are influenced by various factors. Some elements, such as your age, driving history, and the type of car you drive, directly affect your premiums. Typically, younger drivers face higher rates due to their inexperience—similar to rookie players on a sports team. Drivers with a history of traffic violations or accidents are also seen as higher risk, much like a player with numerous fouls might be perceived as a liability. Additionally, living in areas with high rates of theft or accidents could increase your premiums. For instance, Oklahoma has a higher than average number of uninsured drivers and high auto insurance claim amounts, which can lead to steeper premiums compared to states like California or Florida. Thankfully, there are ways to navigate these challenges. These include maintaining a clean driving record, opting for higher deductibles, or bundling multiple insurance policies. Pro Tip: Remember that car insurance is mandatory in every state, including Oklahoma. Going without it is not only illegal but could also result in high out-of-pocket costs in the event of an accident—akin to losing a key player to an injury during a crucial game. Always ensure you're sufficiently covered. Cost of Car Insurance in Oklahoma The average annual car insurance rate in Oklahoma is around $1,500 for full coverage, but this can vary greatly depending on the factors we've discussed. This might seem steep, especially when compared to states like Georgia, where the average cost is closer to $1,200. However, let's not lose hope yet. Let's examine some of the cheapest car insurance companies in Oklahoma and their respective rates: American Farmers & Ranchers Mutual: The average rate for full coverage is $1,493 per year, or $124 per month. For minimum coverage, it's $589 per year, or $49 per month. State Farm: The average rate for full coverage is $1,620 per year, or $135 per month. For minimum coverage, it's $635 per year, or $53 per month. USAA: This military-only car insurance company offers some of the cheapest rates in Oklahoma, with the average rate for full coverage at $1,427 per year, or $119 per month. For minimum coverage, it's $539 per year, or $45 per month. Farm Bureau Mutual: This local car insurance company offers competitive rates to Oklahoma residents. The average rate for full coverage is $1,639 per year, or $136 per month. For minimum coverage, it's $649 per year, or $54 per month. Geico: The average rate for full coverage is $1,675 per year, or $141 per month. For minimum coverage, it's $669 per year, or $56 per month. These are just a few of the affordable car insurance companies in Oklahoma. The best strategy to find the cheapest rate is to compare quotes from several companies, either online or by calling around. Winning the Insurance Game: Strategies for Savings Securing the best car insurance rate is a lot
like a successful sports strategy: it requires careful planning, a good understanding of the rules, and being proactive. Let's explore some strategies to get the best car insurance rates in Oklahoma. Maintaining a Clean Driving Record Just like athletes avoid penalties and fouls to stay in the game, maintaining a clean driving record is a crucial part of keeping your insurance rates low. Many insurers offer discounts to drivers with no traffic violations or accidents on their record. It's like getting bonus points for playing a clean, fair game. Choosing a Higher Deductible Opting for a higher deductible—the amount you're responsible for paying out of pocket before your insurance coverage kicks in—can help lower your premiums. It's a bit like a defensive strategy in a football game; by taking a more conservative approach, you can limit potential losses. Bundling Your Policies If you have multiple insurance policies, consider bundling them with the same insurer. This strategy can lead to substantial discounts. It's like a coach who finds a way to get the best out of their team by effectively combining their skills. Taking Advantage of Discounts Most insurance companies offer various discounts, including for safe drivers, students, or military members. It's like a well-timed sports play that results in an unexpected score. So make sure to ask about all available discounts. Now, let's continue the game with a detailed look at some of the most affordable car insurance providers in Oklahoma: American Farmers & Ranchers Mutual: Known for its affordable rates and strong customer service, American Farmers & Ranchers Mutual is the equivalent of a star player who consistently delivers great performances. State Farm: With its robust coverage options and numerous discount opportunities, State Farm is like the versatile athlete who can play multiple positions effectively. USAA: This insurer is the military MVP of car insurance providers, offering some of the cheapest rates. Remember, though, you must have a military affiliation to qualify. Farm Bureau Mutual: Like a homegrown hero who thrills local fans, Farm Bureau Mutual is a local insurance company that understands Oklahoma's insurance landscape and provides competitive rates. Geico: This nationally recognized provider is like the powerhouse team that always makes the playoffs. Geico provides solid coverage and competitive rates for Oklahomans. Key Takeaway: There's no one-size-fits-all when it comes to car insurance. Your ideal policy will depend on your unique circumstances and needs, similar to how a coach tailors their game plan to their team's strengths and weaknesses. Always compare different insurance providers, and consider what each has to offer before making a decision. Comparing Oklahoma to the Broader U.S. Car Insurance Landscape Comparing car insurance rates between states can be as riveting as comparing sports teams. So, let's explore how Oklahoma stacks up against other states in terms of affordability. 1. California: California is known for its higher insurance rates, which is no surprise given its population density and high cost of living. While Californians might be paying more, they certainly understand the value of a strong defense, just like their sports teams. 2. Florida: Florida, like its vibrant sports scene, has a diverse insurance market. But its rates can be on the higher side due to factors like frequent storms and a large number of uninsured drivers. 3. New York: Like their big city sports rivals, New Yorkers can expect hefty insurance premiums due to their state's urban congestion and higher repair costs. 4. Texas: With a mix of urban and rural areas, insurance rates in Texas can vary, but they generally lean towards the national average. Just like Texas sports teams, their insurance scene is nothing if not competitive. 5. Illinois: The 'Prairie State' offers more moderate insurance rates, making it a good median for comparison.
It's no surprise that the state known for its balance in sports has a balanced insurance landscape too. Insight: Like comparing different sports leagues, understanding the insurance landscape in various states can offer valuable perspective. Each state has unique factors that affect its insurance rates, just as each team has its own strengths and weaknesses. Let's wrap up this journey in the final whistle. Bringing it Home: Choosing the Right Coverage Every driver's insurance needs will differ based on their unique circumstances, just as a football coach adjusts their strategy based on the opponent. Therefore, remember that the cheapest option might not always be the best. Consider your needs and compare various plans before making a decision. In the great game of car insurance, you're the coach. Play smart, keep your eye on the ball, and make sure you're adequately covered for whatever may come your way on the road. Winning isn't just about scoring the most points—it's about playing the game safely and strategically. And that's a winning insurance game plan! While Sporty Connect is your go-to platform for the latest and most accurate sports news, we hope this guide has helped navigate the often complex world of car insurance, showing how sports strategy can apply even in unexpected areas. So, whether you're an Oklahoma City Thunder fan or simply a motorist seeking the best coverage, remember: a little strategy can go a long way. Happy driving! #SportyConnect
