it’s been a little quiet in the gen v/limoreau tags so…what’s everyone most looking forward to or is most hoping will happen in the next episode?
personally, i am very much looking forward to the tag team cocksplosion pt 2 team up and i’m hoping we’ll also finally get the limoreau conversation that’s been needing to happen since episode four. i’m also hoping to learn more about this virus and dean shetty’s intentions with it, bc i need to know if they plan on straight up using it to kill supes or take their powers away, or just control them.

As anyone who watched the preview could tell, the family emergency for Andre happens to involve his dad since he was the person on the stretcher in the ambulance.
Cate "taking back control" probably means her realizing that her pills are the reason for the brain aneurysms she has when she over-exerts herself, and that the pills are a means for Shetty to control her (since by dampening her telepathy, she can't read Shetty's head and discover her secrets).
It's pretty apparent that one of these things Marie is going to find she has in common with Neuman is the fact they both are orphans from Red River who killed their parents in accidents relating to their powers (Hughie actually briefly scrolled past a picture of Marie in The Boys season 3 when he went to Red River to research Neuman's past after he saw Neuman kill a childhood friend of hers from there).
And since we know Shetty is plotting a Supe genocide, we'll probably learn her motivations as to why she's doing this. (That might even be why we had those trailer shots of Polarity being hospitalized, as Shetty could have used him as Patient Zero for releasing her virus into the open.)

Theories on Marie’s powers
Marie can sense Compound V in the blood. We know that most Supes were dosed as children, so Compound V must replicate itself and is attached to the blood if she can still sense it in the blood of adult Supes.
We know that when Supes take Compound V recreationally, they get a high and their powers are enhanced for a short while.
How she survived Homelander: Marie can subconsciously produce more Compound V/concentrate it more in her blood when she’s under threat, therefore making her powers more potent.
Most Supes seem to have some level of invulnerability and heightened strength. Some Supes are specifically strong as their main power, such as Sam, Queen Maeve, Soldier Boy, and Homelander. Others it seems to be more of a fortification, such as Andre who was able to put up a fight with Sam but it’s not his main power.
Homelander is so strong because he got a higher dose than normal of Compound V in utero, and basically was made that way. Stormlander and Soldier Boy were part of the OG experiments and I believe it’s implied with a more pure or concentrated form of Compound V, and they happened to survive. It’s made them super strong and have longevity.
I believe Marie has a baseline of invulnerability and super strength that most Supes have. Because she can basically dose herself with more Compound V, she can give herself temp bursts of enhancement.
Because Compound V is attached to the blood, could she also reverse its bonds? Could she naturally filter it out from the blood? Soldier Boy can burn it out with his nuke powers, could Marie detach it from the blood?
Could she eventually be the one to be able to depower Supes?
I feel like Marie could have a Scarlet Witch, House of M moment where she says “No more Supes” and extends her powers worldwide to detach Compound V in all Supes’ blood and wipe out powers that way.
I need Gen V to have like three more seasons, a cross over event with The Boys, and at least one movie.

*gen v spoilers*
I talk so much about Jordan on here for someone whose favourite character is actually Marie, so let me sing her praises.
Let me just say, it is so nice to have not only a woman but a black woman protagonist with vile violent powers. I know we've had a ton of strong female superheros with superstrength and what not. But Marie's power is viewed as "putrid" and "disgusting" (not to me I think they're cunty), its powerful but not marketable (hence Brink's rejection). There's something about that, it just feels cathartic to see someone so strong and powerful have their foil be that their powers aren't beautiful, flowery or socially acceptable. Like Marie as a person/supe innately rages against the system. It also kind of speaks to the way black women are conditioned to define their worth by the standards of white femininity through white supremacy and then are constantly denied it. Within the patriarchy, women are defined by their fragility, their delicateness, their innocence, their need for protection but when it comes to woc (Black women especially) they are considered to exist outside of those bounds, outside of those needs.
I just think a lot of care and consideration went into crafting such a dynamic layered character like more of this, actually, please, and thanks.
Diverging from the Marie praise:
Another interesting note, is that when the board is deciding what narrative they should use to cover up the Golden Boy incident, its specifically mentioned that Marie is being favoured by the public, for her beauty, mind you she was just standing there in the video, she didn't use her abilities at all. The reason she ended up in the top 10 is in spite of her powers, I wonder if the result would still be the same if she did use them (I honestly don't think so).
Diving into the top ten a little more, I don't think there's a single person on there who placed purely because of merit. I think there's a series of criteria that needs to be met regarding power, status, and popularity. We saw how quickly Andre got bodied by Sam. He's definitely top 10 because of nepotism as well as the fact that he's just attractive. Jordan Li is there because of their close relationship with Brink (albeit probably formed because of how strong Jordan is, but I digress). But their also the acceptable inoffensive kind of queer that can give God U points for diversity without offending its more conservative sponsors or benefactors. Jordan's also attractive, in both forms, so that helps as well. Golden Boy's an all-rounder, an all-American attractive white boy with an ability that's not only strong but makes for entertaining spectacle.
Andre, Golden Boy, and Jordan's powers are all powerful, but just as importantly, they're aesthetically pleasing and aspirational that, among other reasons, is why they're top 10.
Let me get into Cate and Emma another day.

I think season 2 of Gen V is going to focus on how Marie, Jordan, Andre and Emma get out of that prison they're in, them fighting Cate and Sam at some point, and about how they might have to team up again to stop that supe-killing virus from spreading. And the main antagonist will be someone from Vought.
I'll think about my season 4 of The Boys theories once I finish re-watching, just started Season 2 again. Watching just now, Translucent's son might be in season 4 (?). Maybe?

What's Going On With Those Memory Gaps? | Gen V Theories
If you're a fan of Gen V, you probably experienced quite the shock during the latest episode. You're definitely not the only one to have thought your screen was broken or rewound a couple times just to make sure. That cliffhanger left us all with one burning question: what's going on with those memory gaps?
A brief recap to set the scene: Sam is at Dr Cardosa's ready to kill him thanks to our beloved Television's Jason Ritter. The gang appear to try and get Sam safe, saving Dr Cardosa and his family in the process. Cue pretty much everyone getting their ass kicked except for Emma, who is... eating spaghetti? The fight moves outside (notably sans Cate) and it looks as though Sam is ready for a round 2 until Emma emerges from inside. Remember how she purges to shrink? Well, seems it works the other way around too, since she's now huge. It takes nothing for her to pluck Sam up and hold him down, and Marie promises that they'll pr-
We can only assume she was going to say 'protect him', since the screen cuts to black before she finishes her phrase. Fade in, and Marie's now waking up in bed. Wait a little longer and Jordan rolls over, slinging an arm over Marie in her sleep.
As if that wasn't perplexing enough, the teaser for the next episode suggests that these memory gaps might be more widespread than we initially thought. Theories have been flying left and right since last week, and we're diving in headfirst. So, buckle up and get ready to dive into the depths of speculation as we attempt to make sense of what's going on with this plotline!
Theory 1: Rufus
We met Rufus in Episode 4 in what was arguably one of the most iconic scenes so far: tag team cocksplosion. Rufus is a psychic and, given we saw Marie have a similar blackout when he tried to assault, it's not so far-fetched to say he could be causing them. But why? And how has he recovered so quickly from having his dick literally explode?
Theory 2: Cate
So far we've only seen Cate be able to influence people when she's in physical contact with them, but that hasn't stopped fans from thinking she's involved. Think about it: she was there when the group initially arrived at Dr Cardosa's, but disappeared during the action. It could be innocent – her powers aren't great on offense – but her absence combined with her studying the 'hero management' track has led to a lot more distrust.
Theory 3: Sam
A lot of fans have suggested that Sam is causing these blackouts, although he is not officially confirmed to have any psychic powers so far. We've seen him communicate telepathically with Luke, yet there's still several questions to be answered about that. It's a plausible theory, given he was effectively cornered and already experiencing hallucinations, but at the same time, it's doubtful he'd be able to control them if this were the case.
Theory 4: Cate (again)
Yes, we know, we've already spoken about Cate knocking everyone out for some maleficent reason, but there's several theories surrounding her. This one proposes that Dr Cardosa managed to hit a panic button, staff from the Woods managed to subdue our team and they were briefly captured. Cate's involvement comes from what we've seen of her with Luke ('make me feel better') – whether the gang escaped or were eventually set free, Cate wiped their memories of whatever suffering they experienced underground.
Whatever you believe, it's not long to go until we find out the truth! Episode 5 of Gen V streams Thurs Oct 12 at 5pm PT/8pm ET or Fri Oct 13 1am BST.

Some theories for Season 2
Shetty is still alive. Cate specifically didn’t want Marie to “help” because she would notice the blood wasn’t real and can’t manipulate it because Shetty was an illusion. I think there is a much bigger organization at play here. I don’t think Shetty would have been able to fool Vought on her own in order to get such a powerful place in Goldolkin AND on a project that could control Supes.
I suspect there is a shadow group that also works in secret to combat Vought and wants to wipe out Supes altogether. We’ve seen Supe casualties go far and wide, and there has to be some rich victims that have the money and clout to organize enough to be a real threat to Vought.
I think The Powers That Be at Vought made an executive decision that Marie and co were better off studied or creating their own secret group to combat Homelander. The Vought PTB have Homelander, Ryan, and an iced Soldier Boy they have to account for, so they need a team to basically replace Black Noir as insurance. Especially since they lost the virus they were working on to burn out Compound V from their blood.
Then there is Sam and Cate who have proven they can be just as dangerous and destructive. They need an Ace up their sleeve to take them out if Vought ever decides they’re no longer profitable or useful.
Marie has proven to survive Homelander’s lasers, the only other Super to do that was Stormlander who was an OG Supe who had the more potent version of Compound V. It took three Supes working together to beat up Stormlander, and she was only taken out by a more powerful Ryan.
There is something very special about Marie that I think Vought knows they can weaponize her against Homelander and the others, they just have to figure out how.
The Supe Killer Virus is in the hands of someone who has divided loyalties. Neuman is a secret Supe who had been de facto working for Vought when Stan Edgar was the CEO. I believe she’s loyal to him above all else, and I suspect he still pulls strings at Vought even if he’s not publicly working for them any longer. I think he’d be very interested in the virus.

*gen v ep 1 spoilers*
Idk where the death allegations are coming from with Jordan, like I get historically in media, there's a kill your queers mentality, but I just don't think that's gonna happen. Luke was a fake out he died ep 1, I truly believe his death was a one-off, not a precursor. And I just can't imagine Jordan's death having a thematic/narrative purpose.

I bet Season 2 of Gen V and maybe Season 4 of The Boys is going to show that virus spreading around. I'm not exactly sure about the timeframes of everything and I do need to re-watch The Boys but that's my theory.
