"Buon compleanno Emilio Fede". A Striscia la notizia celebrano lo storico ex direttore del Tg4 proprio nel giorno del clamoroso arresto per "evasione" ai domiciliari. Per anni, il giornalista è stato nel mirino di Antonio Ricci per i suoi raptus fuori onda con i poveri redattori e inviati, e Michelle Hunziker e Gerry Scotti ripropongono un pazzesco "best of" dei suoi insulti e imprecazioni quando pensava di non essere ripreso. Ma vogliamo scherzare? Basta! M'inc***, cazzotti in bocca poi vado in galera", sbottava il direttore con i sottoposti". Oggi, a 89 anni dopo una serie di disgrazie personali e professionali, ultima la notizia sconcertante arrivata da Napoli, non si può che ridere amaro. Quelli erano giorni...

Di Emilio Fede si può e si deve pensare ogni nefandezza. Non è vero che il suo Tg4 fosse uno spettacolo di cabaret: era il viatico alla definitiva trasformazione dei canali Mediaset in cinghia di trasmissione del consenso prima, di un modello culturale poi, del sovranismo rancoroso che, finita l'era aurea pre-Tangentopoli, ha incattivito una parte decisiva del Paese: craxista prima, berlusconiana poi e ora turbosovranista. Quella che ha campato per anni sulle spalle degli italiani più fessi (i buonisti) e ora si lamenta che è finito il salmone anche per loro. In piazza. Facendo il saluto romano.

Però. Però, ma davvero? Ma davvero cinque agenti per bloccare un vecchietto che mangia la pizza? Ma davvero il reprobo esibito che manco Priebke? E soprattutto: ma davvero per le cene eleganti, per quell'indecoroso meretricio intellettuale e fisico, per l'oscenità non tanto morale (chi ha i soldi per farsi Pornhub dal vivo, giusto che se li spenda) ma pervasiva, tumorale, fotografia del Ventennio berlusconiano e delle macerie che ha provocato, l'unico a pagare è quello che reggeva la candela, mentre il mandante si appresta a tornare al Governo? Mi sorprendo a doverlo dire: temo che il problema sia, davvero, stavolta, ben altro.

Miss Frizzle: Season 2 Episode 13

This episode always made me really uncomfortable as a kid. I think it had to do partially with the idea of a grown-up in a position of power lying so blatantly to everyone she ran into, and partially because when she loses, she throws a tantrum that would rival any thrown by any toddler in any mall in North America. It was awkward.

That said, this episode is pretty neat in that it teaches us about buoyancy, while simultaneously debunking lake-monster myths.

The episode begins with Wanda in her kitchen, listening to a TV broadcast about the Walkerville Lake Monster which Wanda has already decided she is going to discover. She rushes down to the lake, only to be disappointed to find that she's the last member of her class to arrive. No matter, though, because she's going to be the first member of her class into the water.

Except for Miss Frizzle, of course:

Once again, Miss Frizzle has done the impossible by fitting all of her hair into that swimming cap (how does she do it?!). Oh, and I guess also fitting a dress into a wetsuit:

I believe those are cannonballs (or similar) on her shoes. Which I would think would make walking difficult, but Miss Frizzle is a champ so you don't see her complain at all.

And she balances it out with adorable, presumably light-weight fish earrings!

And later on, a Captain's hat!

So, the class go underwater in a submarine (aka the Bus as a submarine) and try to find the lake monster, and later, upon finding the fake lake monster Gerri Poveri plans to trick Walkerville with (spoilers!), try to expose Gerri Poveri for the fraud that she is. 

Gerri Poveri fights back by trying to trap the class at the bottom of the lake which seems crazy extreme for what they were planning on doing. Like, personally, I don't feel that creating a fake expose on a lake monster is worth murdering a bus full of children at the bottom of said lake, but maybe that's just me. 

Anyway, the class prevails, as they so often do, and also learn all about buoyancy and lying, which is pretty great. And no one drowned, which is also pretty great. And Gerri Poveri was not arrested for attempted murder, which is less great but they probably couldn't show that on a children's cartoon about science. I'll headcanon it in later.
