I can't believe no one else thought of this AU so SIGH I guess I gotta do it myself (not complaining though, this was so fun to draw)
Also yes the Bostonian horse is replacing Liz Ard in this AU and yes he is drawn in the MLP style because have you drawn a horse before. Those suckers are HARD

Observations
Wanda Li:
absolute tomboy who hangs out with the boys, plays sports, will fight anyone who looks at either Arnold or Phoebe wrong, does scuba diving, is fearless, refuses to wear a skirt, and would pilot a plane.
Also Wanda Li:
hates the cold and would be the first one near the fireplace, while denying her softer side, she would embrace it at times, wears pink, loves ballet and practices it.
Ah, the duality of a tomboy.

What’s in their bag? -- Magic School Bus (aged up)
Arnold: A backup pair of glasses, a phone charger, a pack of tissues, a copy of the “National Geographic Pocket Guide to Rocks and Minerals”, a bottle of allergy medicine, a moleskin journal, a miniature watercolor of Phoebe sitting beside the lake (painted by Tim), a Tide stain pen, and his lucky jade rock.
Carlos: A book of dad jokes from the library, a soccer jersey that needs to be washed, a series of doodles done by Tim in AP Bio, a half-empty bottle of Gatorade, a months-old note from DA that he saved, a bag of Takis, and a Greendale Community College keychain.
Dorothy Ann: Approximately a dozen books, a Ravenclaw scarf, her color-coded weekly planner, a set of ballpoint pens, Doublemint gum, a thermos of black coffee, a key to the school’s chemistry lab, the solar system bracelet that Carlos gave her for their anniversary, and her library card.
Keesha: Warm vanilla sugar body spray, one scrunchie for every color of the rainbow, several copies of the Walkerville High Gazette to hand out, an annotated copy of “Hood Feminism”, her favorite ball-point pen, a photo strip that features the gang all trying squeeze into one photo booth at the mall, a flip-up notebook (in case she gets an idea for a newspaper article), a few loose pairs of brightly-colored plastic earrings, and a bag of granola clusters.
Phoebe: Animal shelter flyers, a bag of treats for her dog, a polaroid taken on her first date with Arnold, homemade vegan protein bars, a “Save The Bees” pin that was a gift from Tim’s grandpa, a pretty leaf she found on a walk, a skein of magenta yarn (to make into a pair of gloves for Keesha), her AP Environmental science textbook, citrus tea bags, and a backup pair of knee-high socks.
Ralphie: A football, a bag of Mallowblasters, a few baseball cards, a beat-up old copy of “The Fellowship of the Ring”, a History essay that was due last week, a stick of Old Spice deodorant, a few loose D20s, a crocheted hackysack (a gift from Phoebe), and a lightsaber keychain.
Tim: His sketchbook, a set of colored pencils, a half-complete issue of The Adventures of Weatherman, a thrifted Walkman cassette player with “Space Oddity” by David Bowie, a Black Lives Matter patch that he needs to ask Phoebe to stitch to his jean jacket, a Polaroid camera, notes for the next DND session, and a boba tea rewards card.
Wanda: A pocket knife, a box of skull-patterned band-aids, a roll of grip tape, a mixtape of 2000s pop-punk from Tim, a lighter (just for fun), bright red lipstick, several broken eyeliner pencils, a stabby cat keychain, an old ripped pair of fishnets, a plastic spider to prank Carlos with, and a water bottle full of Monster Energy drink.

Fic: “Sea & Sun”
read on AO3
Fandom: The Magic School Bus (1990s)
Rating: G
Summary: It's a never a normal field trip with Ms. Frizzle. This time, and everyone's excitement, they head to the beach!
@flashfictionfridayofficial
"Beach—!"
Ralphie excitedly slams his hands onto the bus-window.
"We're on a beach!" he repeats, yelling.
"Are we going on vacation?" Carlo asks hopefully, and Dorothy Ann giggles.
"I thought we were on a field trip…"
Wanda and Carlos yank off their shoes, gleefully putting their toes in the sand.
Dorothy Ann spreads out her arms, lifting her face with eyes shut, basking.
Ms. Frizzle marches off the bus, wearing a crisp blue sundress printed with white and purple umbrellas. Her orange hair swept up and pinned beneath a long, straw hat. Her sandals flip-flopping, matching the blue.
"Isn't it a beautiful day for sea and sun and science!"
"And swimming!" Ralphie bellows, making to pull off his shirt.
"Now, now hold your seashells, mister," Ms. Frizzle says cheerfully, smiling at Ralphie's groan of exasperation. "Who can tell me the definition of a beach?"
Tim raises his hand, nodding.
"I read that a beach is 'a narrow strip of land that lies along the edge of an ocean, lake, or river'—is it right?"
"Very right you are!" Ms. Frizzle beams. “Sometimes the beaches need help!" she explains. "There's many, many dangers that they face. Can you name one?"
"Hurricanes?" Wanda speaks up, uncertain.
"We call that 'coastal erosion' and it's defined as a process of the beach moving due to wind, storms and waves! It's very natural! However, it's the most significant threat to beaches all over the world!"
"What about pollution?" Carlos says, interested.
"Excellent! Along with sea levels rising and developments, there is also human pollution threatening the beach!" She reaches behind her, gesturing with a handful of trash pickup sticks and trash bags. "That's why we have a mission today, class! To clean up this beach!"
"But before we do that… sunscreen, ahoy!"
*
After a few moments of picking up litter, Keesha wags her stick.
"Leave it to the Friz to give us chores…"
"It's better than all of us turned into a school of fish and getting chased by a dolphin," Arnold mutters. His trash bag half-full.
"Guys!" Ralphie yells, waving on top of a boulder. "Look! Look what I found!"
They run over to a gigantic tide pool, also yelling, and Ms. Frizzle is already there, leaning down.
"My, my!" she says merrily. "In such a small living environment, there's so many creatures working and eating together!"
Carlos squats down.
"Yeah, Ralphie," he snickers. His arms fold. "WATER the chances?"
"CAAAAARLOOOS!"
*
Periwinkle snails, barnacles, mussels, sea anemones, starfish…
Ms. Frizzle identifies them all.
They soak her words in, like soaking happily in the sun.
"One of the best field trips, ever," Arnold decides, and Keesha encouragingly hangs onto his arm. "No shrinking, no getting chased…"
A gasp escapes Ms. Frizzle's lips.
"Who wants to know what being an ELECTRIC EEL feels like!?" she trills.
Tim and Ralphie cheer, high-fiving.
"Shoulda guessed," Arnold mumbles, also getting high-fived.
That's just how it is with Ms. Frizzle.

a crazy msb idea hear me out:
the magic school bus? not real. miss frizzle’s field trips? all in your head.
eight kids on a school bus field trip get into a crash on their way to their destination and fall into a nine month coma — or so they’re told. they don’t question it when they wake up in the hospital and are told as such.
years later, these kids start realizing their stories are matching up, their teacher is reappearing in town, and perhaps the magic school bus is real. the questions now are what really happened that day, who’s trying to keep the truth from them, and why.
god why this fandom lol

We found this cool website where it gives us color palettes for our names! Right here!
Phoebe: Hmmm. Could be more colorful. But I like the nice, earthy vibe it’s got going.
Tim: Very colorful! Although I think the generator must have confused me with Keesha and Carlos.
Carlos: I like it. It reminds me of my rock collection. Very gneiss.
CARLOS!!!!
Dorothy Ann: This actually looks pretty good! The lavender in the top of the second column is my favorite.
Keesha: These are not my colors at all. Where’s the blue and magenta?
Ralphie: Well… at least red and green are there.
Arnold: You know, this isn’t too bad.
Wanda: This looks awesome!
Mikey: I’m seeing red. GET IT????
Good one, bro! —Carlos
