Technically if you think about it sonic does have a home, sonic just doesn’t have a house, home is not a place, its a feeling. Home is where love is, memories are created, where friends and family always belong and laughter never ends.

Нет, я рисую в procreate) Но иногда использую ibis для более удачных эффектов, которых нет в procreate, и для наложения текста. Или вовсе переношу страницу на компьютер и добавляю что-то на нее в Photoshop. Ibis я открыла для себя недавно, и пока мне некомфортно переходить в него полностью. Еще недавним открытием для планшета стал Adobe Fresco! Особенно его ��нструменты для помощи в построении перспективы, это просто нечто.

Что касается шрифтов: для диалогов используется WildWords. Существует его адаптация на русский. Но пока я ее не нашла, для русского текста я использовала CCAdamKubert Что касается шрифтов для звуков - у меня есть целый архив, и каждый раз я подбираю тот, что подходит под сам звук.

I want to ask you for advice. The thing is, these damn needles drive me crazy every time I try to draw them from a new angle (especially Shadow).

Can you suggest a simple way to imagine and depict their shape?

Yes, and that simple way is to download their sonic forces models and use a browser 3D viewer to get a reference for their quills from every angle.

This google drive is full of references for everything and everyone Sonic btw and is a great starting point if you can't get ahold of the 3D models yourself

I saw another question about comic drawing techniques, and I can't help but ask my own. I really don't understand how sounds work (I'm not sure what they're called in terminology). When to add them? Where to add them? How to choose a font? Are there any typical sounds or can you write the way you hear them?

Sound effects are added during moments that you feel need emphasis with that sound effect, or if you're trying to give the reader information. You don't need to put a sound effect on every little action, but, in the case of, say, an impact, it helps to really SELL that impact by coming up with that sound it'll make! :)

^ This, for example, would feel pretty lacking without that big "BTYANNG!" going on near the point in which Loki is hitting Thor in the face.

In the beginning of this Calvin and Hobbes strip (I apologize for the quality), it's the sound effect that works in tandem with Bill Watterson's art that not only tells us that Hobbes is yawning in that first panel, he sounds like a running motor while asleep in the second.

So, to summarize: Sound effects are used for information or for emphasis. Just be sure to use them sparingly, as they can make a comic page pretty cluttered if you aren't careful! :]

As for fonts, well, I'm not sure if you'll be able to access this, Gestrel, since it requires Paypal, but I use Blambot for most of my fonts. That site's typically where comic creators in the industry go for that stuff. That said, fonts are up to your own personal preference -- Just be sure to check the licensing on them before using any if you're planning on selling comics.

Ok, we've talked a lot about the movie, but what do you think of Sonic Prime? :D

I think that Sonic Prime had a pretty strong start but definitely suffered pacing issues, especially in the final season, and absolutely needed a better ending than what we got (it felt more like the ending of a single episode than a whole series you know what I mean?). I also do think Sonic was written pretty out-of-character there, and I'm not too happy that the writers were fully ignoring Sega's lore team.

Also, it was very obvious that they weren't given a big enough budget for the show they were trying to do. The locations besides New Yoke City were incredibly barren. They reminded me of the worlds in Kingdom Hearts.

That said, I think a lot of love and care was put into the animation! It's a very GOOD LOOKING show, and you can really tell that the animators, themselves, are huge Sonic nerds. I really appreciated that aspect of Sonic Prime.

Also? Ian Hanlin as Shadow was great. I'm pretty much beating a dead horse by saying this but he has a REALLY fitting voice for Shadow and absolutely can act (both as Shadow and as Big). I do wish he was voicing game!Shadow. I also wish Shadow got more than like, ten minutes of screen time in Prime.

So, overall, I'm glad it exists. I have my gripes, but i'm happier this show happened than not. I hope someday we can have an animated Sonic show with an even bigger budget and with writers who actually care about the property they're handling.

What part of the Sonic fandom do you like the most? The game, the cartoon, etc. And if it's the comic, which story arc do you like the most?

Honestly, my favorite part of the Sonic franchise in its entirety was the Archie comics. I'd say my favorite arc was probably Hedgehog Havoc because that one was my very first, but that answer's always changing.

Sometimes it's that, and sometimes it's Shadow Fall from Sonic Universe and sometimes it's the Unleashed mini-arc and sometimes it's The Silver Saga or Secret Freedom.

What was really nice about Archie Sonic was that it was allowed to change the status quo, and often did. It was allowed to show EMOTION in Sonic characters (not saying IDW doesn't do this) and it did that too. Archie Sonic felt like its own real interesting world with it's own unique lore and characters and history. Sometimes a friend ends up exploded into a coma. Sometimes an evil wizard is king.

Events had actual weight to them, y'know?

I really like your comic and your style! Your comic has a lot of detail, but the page is not cluttered and easy to read. The panels, the text bubbles, the emotions, the color scheme - everything is top notch. This is mastery)

I am incredibly happy with how much feedback you get with each new page. That people really appreciate your work. Anyway, people often tell you that your comic is awesome (and it is), but I will clarify that your page is interesting to watch not only on the day of the update, but also throughout the week. Because of you. Your humor, your answers, your play with the consciousness and feelings of POOR READERS. Just, you know... Just do what you do And yes, I really love, that you don't foget that they are animals. Cute fluffy animals.
