Its a big pine. I totally got this. Done it dozens of times." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Except by then - the entire painting had become about the tree. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I look at things like this through a saying I love - ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "How do you eat an elephant?" ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One. Bite. At. A. Time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I did a practice run on the tree (which actually came out so well that we made T-shirts of it for the release of Art for Life at www.nelsonmakesart.com). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The practice run went great... So I started on the real tree with just a bit. Just the top. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Then I tackled a few more branches and some of the trunk. Then. A little more. Then a little more. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Then it was just done. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Its amazing the weight we give things without meaning to.
