TLDR for this first section: Was looking for new phone, asked internet, got next to no help, found One, and the right answer was under my nose the whole time. Below the tale is the specs.

So it started off with me looking for a new phone. Went down to AT&T, none of them didn't have AI (the major sticking point in my search). From there, I decided to try and tough it out.

When my phone case broke further (I have officially defeated OtterBox), I decided enough was enough. My birthday was coming up, and I was going to make the switch from Apple to Android one way or another. So I took to the internet.

After 70 comments across 3 different Reddit posts, only a few people took me seriously (I swear redditors are competing with Tumblr for worst reading comprehension), and out of those few, only one person actually recommended a phone that fit my criteria (better than xr, no ai). That recommendation was the Nothing Phone 1, not the phone I'm getting.

See, I had also asked my friends on Discord, but when I had initially looked up the Brand, sources said AI. But coming back with the knowledge I had gleaned (it's an OS issue, (mostly) not a hardware issue) I checked and the model I was looking at runs even older version of Android (that's a good thing).

Now onto the good stuff: the specs

This phone, the Ulefone Armor 24, has 12 GB ram, 256 storage. Pretty decent already, but its real strength is in its battery, whose life is measured in DAYS: 22000 mAh (if you're like me and that doesn't mean anything to you, look up your phone's battery power. That's over 7x the battery size of my XR) And it needs it, considering this thing supports a FLOOD LIGHT, on top of the normal flashlight. It's got infrared, it's got a customizable button, it's got night vision, it's got an actual aux port, IT FUNCTIONS AS A POWER BANK. And it only costs $350. The one drawback is that you must resign yourself to holding a brick that will outlive your grandchildren.
