Welcome to Ghostseeker

Ghostseeker is an original story following a young fawn through his life of hardships and secrets as he seeks out how to avoid his own demise.

The main characters are loosely based off of the protagonists of Lego Ninjago, but have come far from their roots and have blossomed into their own unique characters, and they will continue to do so.

The world this story takes place in is its own, and filled with both beautiful creatures and horrific monsters.

You are free to interpret the characters in your own way, but keep in mind that I am ultimately in charge of their destinies and morals.

Ghostseeker is created and written by @oshawottarchive, who also runs this blog.

Warning before you read: This story contains violence, blood, trauma, both human and animal death, and creepy elements. If any of that makes you uncomfortable I advise that you do not read this comic.

So, I do have some new Ninjago art, but I’m still mainly taking a break from the fandom

someone sent this to my main fjfjfjf i'm assuming this is where it was meant to be sent

okay so buckle up kiddos this is gonna be a long one.

in short, The In-Between as we now know it is actually an AU of a spinoff of a crossover of two and a half of my WIPs.

the original idea came from my WIP UnSuper Squad, in which (slight spoilers for UnSuper Squad ahead, not that i really care anymore) there is a trio of siblings and the youngest one was thought dead for a few years, but it turned out he was actually stranded on another dimension.

now here is where it gets tricky.

i had another, completely independent idea called Guardians of Interdimensional Integrity or GIDI (which i haven't even come close to writing yet) involving interdimensional travel, and one of the characters was supposed to be someone stranded in a different dimension than their own. and then, bc i am crazy, i had the idea of making that character the lost sibling from UnSuper Squad. and then having a whole "crossover episode" at some point where the lost sibling returns home.

which spawned the idea of the spinoff that i like to call Paige and Eddie, Ghostseekers, (hence the two and a half) where said lost sibling (Eddie) and his older sister (Paige), now reunited, decide for some reason to start their own Buzzfeed Unsolved style web series bc Paige is into that sort of thing.

now this was in October, and i was scrambling to find a WIP to work on for NaNo. and then i thought, hey, if i change the names and tweak a few details, i could totally turn this into it's own WIP.

and thus The In-Between was born.

Random Ghostseeker facts, mostly about Reaper/Cole and Blue/Jay.

1. Reaper is half deer, and that’s caused his inside anatomy to be all messed and he has very bad chronic pain because of it.

2. Blue can see the dreams and some of the thoughts of the possessed.

3. Reaper doesn’t have antlers until he’s possessed by the forest spirit.

4. Reaper has little deer spots that he hides with makeup. He also has a tail that he shoves into his clothing on the daily, which doesn’t help with his pain.

5. Blue has seen one or two nature spirits before, but never a forest spirit let alone a forest goddess until he met Reaper.

6. There are three types of nature spirits, all with their own god. Sea spirits, ruled by Aerwa, Wind spirits (god unnamed for now), and Forest spirits, ruled by Perfemore.

7. Blue grew up in a middle of nowhere desert village with his mother, while Reaper grew up in a woodland mansion with a very large family, most of which dislikes him.

8. Blue’s last name is Sky and yes it is a pun.

Little artdump as well as quick explanations

Meet Blue! He was born with the ability to see ghosts and spirits, and he quickly got attached to Reaper after they met.

Reaper might also have a crush on him.

A forest spirit, but not exactly a normal one. Seems a bit more like possession.

You know the Cole doodles I posted? I’m going to continue to use that design for him, but I’m also going to use it for an original character for a new story.

The character is based off of Cole, but he also has his own personality and backstory and a completely different life.

The story he’s going to be in is called Ghostseeker, and it’s almost a Ninjago au, but mostly it’s my own story. I’ll be using my new Cole and Jay designs (the latter I’ve not shared yet) for the characters based off of them, but they’ll have different names and backstories.

It’s a little complicated, but I’m pretty happy with the story so far.

The tag for it is going to be #Ghostseeker au, and you’re free to see it as an au, and call the characters by the names of the characters they’re based off of.

I might still tag it as a Ninjago au, but the characters will usually be called by different names.

Overall, you’re free to see this as a Ninjago au, or a different story, and the characters are interchangeable between being the Ninjago characters and ocs.

It’s up to you.

Now that that’s said, I have a ref sheet for one of the main characters, and the character based off of Cole. He’ll be known mostly as Reaper in the story itself, but feel free to call him Cole.

This is Blue. He was born with the ability to see ghosts and spirits, and proudly refers to himself as the “ghostseeker”. Much to others misfortune cough cough Zach cough cough his favorite color is not blue.

Angstober day 2 - Anxiety

For today’s prompt, have some Ghostseeker! No warnings for this one.

Blue’s eyes blinked open, colors swirling around him. Voices spoke in a swarm, too many to be able to decipher the words.

He muttered something under his breath, getting out of bed. He spotted something out of the corner of his eye, and turned to see the outline of a person staring at him.

A shiver went down his spine, but he walked away, opening the door to his room and slamming it shut behind him. 

He kept walking to the kitchen, trying to ignore every little movement of shadow in the corners of his vision. They weren't always there, but the times they were were more common than the times they weren't.

He couldn’t go a day without the haunting figures and voices, and at times he couldn’t tell what was alive and what wasn’t.

But what was even worse was when he couldn’t see any of the shadows at all, when he didn’t know where they were, and what they could do to him.

The voices started to get louder, and he ran the rest of the way to the kitchen, hoping to escape his reality for at least a moment.
