Your post just reminded me that i like skin tbh. I honestly, really wish people would have a larger awareness that white people aren't a monolithic snow white skinned people. Mostly because i'm like really fascinated by how much skin can change thrugh out the year or just lighting conditions and i want to gitgut at potraying that. Also give me characters that have summer freekles that disapear in winter. Logical tanlines, Unhealthy palor in winter. Give me living changing skin.

When I was working at the grocery store I was about five shades darker on my face and arms than on the entire rest of me all summer long

I got so tired of having obvious tan lines on my biceps I'd wear socks on my arms to distract from it sometimes lmao

Also yeah I just....

Whitewashing is obviously a problem and I don't want to argue about that but also some white people can tan pretty dark and depicting that in a character isn't?? Whitewashing? And it's super weird to insist that it is? And also distracting from actual real problems?

And I think it's even CAUSING real problems?

Mistaking a character who was meant to have a suntan and then completely ignoring the fact that the actual black man in the same thing is being depicted as gray or sickly green is pretty bad.
