it's kinda funny to me how space station 13 is often treated as "obscure" and often feels that way too, even though looking at it it has an honestly pretty wide spread presence across the internet. the now-defunct twitter @ gitlost was a bot dedicated to reposting github commit messages that contained any swearing, and it was eerily common for something it posted to be very clearly from a ss13 repo. there's also a pretty decent handful of games with development history rooted in ss13 things, like Barotrauma, Stationeers, and Starbound? if I had to guess, it's probably something to do with how it's such an old game combined with the way that it's hard to get into and very hard to get out of once you're into it. but i dunno. just kind of rambling
