Starting at Las Encinas was a lot easier than you thought it would be. You’d made friends with Carla and Valerio almost instantly and, though they weren’t the closest, it felt like you were meant to know each other from way before this. They’d integrated you a little into the rest of the group but you’d been more than happy to avoid that drama for as long as you could do rather than get yourself wrapped up in stuff that definitely felt out of your depth. Sometimes, though, that was practically unavoidable.

“Alright your interviews will only be short but they’ll be used as experience for you to understand what you actually want out of your next steps after Las Encinas and whether you are interested in university or alternative paths,” Your professor explains from the front of the class, “Go and take a look around the stalls around school today and make sure you’re all at your interviews on time, please. You’re dismissed.”

Everyone gets up at their own pace as people start to mill around outside, looking at the different universities that were here to pitch to you all today. You’d already seen a few that interested you, looking at a few prospects and reading through some of the information in the university prospectus.

“I can’t think of anything worse than university,” Valerio groans as he walks up beside you and steals some freebies from one of the stalls.

“I can’t think of anything worse than you at university,” You joke, “Maybe you’re just not cut out for that.”

“Definitely not!” He laughs, “I don’t think I’d fit in very well.”

You thank the lady from one of the stalls as she hands you her contact information and you start to stroll around a few more. You’d already lost Valerio amongst the crowd and dismissed the thought of him actually taking this remotely seriously. It’s only when you hear a door slam that your attention is drawn away from the university brochure you’d been intrigued by. You frown and watch as Ander pushes past a few students and hides around a corner, away from anybody’s prying eyes. It doesn’t take much to notice that he’s crying, breathing heavy and eyes squeezing shut as he tries to stop the overload of emotion.

“Ander?” You speak to involuntarily that you don’t have the opportunity to think about whether he’d appreciate your presence or not.

“(Y/n)?” He frowns at the sight of you, reaching up and swiping away his tears quickly, “Shit, um, I’m fine. It’s just dusty and I...”

You take a cautious step forward, “Okay, well maybe if you get some fresh air? Care to join me?”

He looks you up and down likes he’s trying to study your intentions, “Yeah, okay.”

“Okay,” You smile gently, starting to walk in the direction of the big doors that led out onto the land surrounding the school.

You’d hardly been here long enough to fully explore how much space this whole school expanded to, and half of you had the mind to think you’d get lost amongst this. Both you and Ander stay in silence as you start to walk around the empty paths. You focus on how Ander’s breathing becomes calmer and less shaky, watching from the corner of your eye as he brings up his sleeve again to wipe away a few more tears that had clung on.

“You know this place is pretty beautiful from the outside,” You comment as you pass more greenery than the place knew what to do with.

“Not so much once you’re in,” Ander lets out a little joke, “How have you found it so far?”

You glance at him, “Interesting, I just try to avoid the majority of gossip and keep my head down.”

“I think I’m doing the exact same at the minute,” He scoffs and the two of you fall back into a silence yet again.

It’s not the sort of silence that feels unsettling or awkward. It’s one of understanding and respect instead. You knew he’d been crying for a reason and you knew, if it had been you, you’d want someone to respect your space and give you enough time to process it yourself. So, you let him have that space and time.

“Don’t you have an interview to get to?” He frowns, slowing down his pace like he felt an instant guilt for drawing you away.

You shake your head, “I’m sure they’re not that important.”

Ander can’t help but smile a little, it felt like the most genuinely nice thing he’d seen anybody do in a long time. So, he lets you miss whatever time your interview was supposed to be and he carries on walking alongside you in a welcomed tranquility.

You eventually make your way back into the school and hold the door for him as you both step into the near empty corridor.

“Ander, whatever’s going on, you’re not on your own,” You assure him, “You won’t ever be on your own.”

He looks at you and swallows the lump in his throat, “I know.”

“And if you need someone or you-“

“I have cancer (Y/n),” It’s only four words but you’re certain they carry enough weight to knock you from your feet.

Your words completely fail you for the first time where you completely wish you could say the right thing, “I... Ander... I’m so...”

He shakes his head, “Nobody knows, so I’d appreciate if it stays that way.”

“You didn’t tell your Mum?” You frown a little, “Ander that’s not something you want to go through on your own.”

“Maybe not, but I have an appointment tomorrow morning so I’ll figure it out from there,” He states, “Thanks for today, (Y/n).”

It felt like such an obvious reaction when you were sat in that waiting room in the hospital at nine in the morning. There were a few people milling around but nobody with the face of the boy you were waiting for.

“(Y/n)?” Ander speaks up as he walks through the doorway.

You glance up from your phone and take your earphones out, “I’m not late, am I?”

He frowns, “What are you talking about?”

You take a deep breath, “I know you might want to handle this whole thing on your own, but nobody deserves to go through something like that with nobody to support them.”

He swallows the lump in his throat, “You don’t have to do this, honestly.”

“I know,” You nod, “But I told you that you wouldn’t be alone and I meant it.”

He smiles a little and sits down beside you on the bench, “What are you watching?”

You hand him one of your earphones as you press play on the movie whilst the two of you wait for his name to be called. Somewhere along the line, you find yourself glancing at the boy beside you as he keeps his eyes focused on the screen whilst the film plays out. Nobody deserved to go through what he was going to face, what he was already starting to face. So, when his hand finds yours and squeezes it as the two of you walk up to the appointment, it’s impossible to not hold it there.

You try to listen to all of the information they tell you during the appointment to make sure that you pick up on everything that he might not do as the information becomes overwhelming. They explain the treatment process and encourage that Ander looks at the leaflets they’ve given him to understand what he was going to face. They offer the chance to answer any questions but the pair of you simply sit in silence until the doctor dismisses you.

Ander drops your hand almost instantly as you step outside, “You should go.”

“Ander...” You sigh, “You heard what they said, they’ll give you all the treatment that can an-“

“You should go, you should be at school anyway,” it’s cold but you can hardly blame him.

“You don’t have to be alone in this,” You encourage him.

“I didn’t ask for you to be here!” He raises his voice a little, “And why the fuck would you want to spend time with the dying kid?”

You open your mouth to try and defend yourself and him but it’s hopeless.

“Just go.”

You don’t see Ander at school for the next couple of days and you become increasingly worried for his wellbeing when you ask Guzmán and Polo and they both have no idea where he is. You become so close to speaking to his Mum at one point. But part of you knew you’d never have it in you to go against your word to him.

“Alright, I’ll see you later,” You smile to Carla as you both part ways for your separate classes.

It’s as you turn the corner that you see Ander stood there. He looks odd in his uniform, like it wasn’t really meant for him anymore. His face looks a little darker, likely from his lack of sleep. But his curls still brighten up his appearance - you didn’t want to imagine him without them.

“You know I had to come up with a really good excuse why I missed both times they scheduled that interview for,” You joke to at least lighten the mood momentarily as you walk closer, “I’m not great at lying.”

He looks down at his feet, “Im sorry about what I said to you at the hospital. You didn’t deserve that.”

You shake your head, “Come on, we hardly knew each other before this week. I don’t expect you to want me to be with you through something like this.”

“No, no, it’s not that,” He assures you, “I guess I was just more scared of... Well, anyway, I just wanted to say thank you.”

“It’s fine honestly.”

“You said that we don’t really spend much time together,” He shuffles his feet a little, “Maybe we should, right?”

You fight back a grin at his innocence, “Yeah, maybe.”

“Do you fancy missing class again, the weather’s nice?”

And just like that, you’re walking the perimeter of the school again alongside him. This time, you’re chatting the entire way. He asks you about your life before Las Encinas and which Marvel film you’d want to be in, and slowly, he comes to the realisation that he truly didn’t have to be alone.

 i think i actually want to spend time with him. i know, its wrong and i shouldn’t. if i had told him this, he’ll reiterate that were not in a relationship. i don’t understand. he calls me just to talk to me. he even said that last night when we were on the phone. i asked him if he was busy and he called me asking me what i was doing that night, how i was free the next day (saturday) and what i was doing. i told him i wasn’t doing anything but i was trying to do something. i was trying to do something, with him specifically. he asked me what i was doing i said i was bored and wasn’t doing anything, why do you think im trying to hang out with you? he didn’t like that. his voice had changed and he replies, “i don’t like that, don’t hit me up just because you’re bored.” i tried to recover and say that i meant im bored because im not with him but he wasn’t having it. it was true, i was bored because i didn’t want to do anything besides him. he followed by saying, i don’t call you when im bored. i expressed to him that i thought that was a lie, he said no i call you because i want to talk to you. i had nothing to answer to that with. he had changed the subject pretty quickly following that. he confuses me and i don’t understand why. he’s the one who is married and who has a baby with his wife. im single, why is he messing with my head. i had even said to him how he likes to pretend he is this blunt person but he actually isn’t, i notice everything and i notice how he contradicts himself. he had asked me how and i had explained to him how he asks me a question but its very obvious how he wants a specific response from me, and he repeats the question after every answer because its not what he wants to hear. “why don’t you just ask that specific question to get that specific answer you want to hear from me?”. i don’t think he had an answer to that. he had said at some point how i am annoying, and of course, being called annoying is never nice. i questioned if that was a good annoying or a bad one and he followed by saying he’s not going to specify and that annoying is annoying there doesn’t need to be sub categories for it. i said there is because there’s always sub categories for adjectives since adjectives are pretty subjective. he had said something like how i want a lot of kisses or something like how i kiss him a lot. this made me audibly laugh. this was fucking funny to me. 

when we had gotten to the hotel,  he had been sitting on the chair that was staged by the window while on the phone with someone. i sat on the edge of the bed, one ankle under the opposite knee. facing him, watching him talk on the phone. he isn’t ugly, he isn’t sexy either. he’s just Tony. i like tony, he’s just him. he’s his own subsection on my personal attractive scale. i like that, he doesn’t need to be anything to me or with me. he walks up to me while on the phone, hangs up with whomever as he gets a few feet away. im staring at him the whole time, waiting. he gets only inches, no, centimeters from my face. “can i have a kiss?” he’s holding my face when he asks this. all he has to do is move the smallest amount and our lips would be touching. the consent he’s asking for first is stopping him. he wants to see how far im gonna go for him. to him, its metaphorical, the few centimeters away means more than him. to him, it means im down for whatever . i meet him the rest of the way, show him that im with anything. im meeting him halfway in more ways than one. i just barely touch our lips together, he pushes closer to me and i pull back. i open my eyes to look at his reaction and can’t help but smile at him. an innocent smile. but it seems to hit him somewhere internally. he laces his fingers in my hair and pulls me back and kisses me. softly, only ever softly. he’s got nice lips. so soft and plump. i like kissing him. a lot. he’s never aggressive, its like his trying to remember, maybe, like he’s trying to tease me. im not sure, perhaps im not thinking clearly. he’s always asking me for a kiss. we had been laying down and he pushed his cheek toward me, he had wanted me to kiss him. i kissed his cheek like he has done with me more than once. he calls me cute and calls me just to talk. perhaps, he likes the attention from a twenty-one year old. perhaps, he likes the physical relationship alongside the fluff we give each other after the sex. i don’t think ill ever know, he isn’t the type that’ll tell me. at least, not any time soon. 

its rather ironic how he says im the one who does this or does that but he started doing that. he made it relatively normal between us first. he started to kiss all over my face and call me cute. he called me beautiful once. he kissed me all over. even on the top of my head. he did that first. im not used to that, i didn’t pull back but i had an internal conversation on what the hell was going on. the only person to kiss me on top of my head is my grandfather. it was inappropriate given our situation. maybe if he wasn’t married i would’ve still been interested, though, that was my initial attraction. but knowing what i know now, if i had knew that then, i would’ve fucked. he does have a way. i approached him with the option of sex, he didn’t approach me. i liked that. he wasnt creepy which is kind of strange considering most men his age are. i approached him and he was taking me as a joke. now look where we are. “too comfortable” as he likes to say. he’s the one that likes to interlock our hands while he’s driving, massaging my palm, kissing my knuckles. acting very domesticated. this must be a game for him, this forty-nine year old man, kissing and playing with my, a twenty-one year old- hand. what is  he getting at? maybe he wants me to fall for him so he can break me. 

ive always wished for a big heartbreak, one that rocks me to my core. maybe this’ll be that heartbreak for me.   

he called me asking if i was busy and if he could come get me. he had caught me at a bad time, i was smoking weed, and on my period. i told him i don’t think he wants to since im bleeding and he seemed to get offended, saying he doesn’t care and he still wants to hang. i replied with a maybe. you know i didn’t think he wanted to hang with me outside of sex involved. i think he likes me. he asked me when my birthday was, “nineteenth of october” i replied. “i want to take you out for your birthday….if that’s okay with you?” it took me a moment to respond, obviously i said it was fine. i want him to spoil me. he wants to as well. while we were on the phone, he went on to say how he has a spot downtown, with a pool, how he wants to get some dinner. he just wants to see me. i was excruciatingly high and couldn’t hold a conversation, i really wanted to go. i want to see Tony, he’s so much fun. i wanted to go so bad. he wanted me to go so bad. i couldn’t, if i did i would’ve embarrassed myself with him. he would’ve hated me by the end of the night. id rather go with him when i can function properly. 

i think i figured out what he wants me to say. every question he asks me needs a specific answer. he wants a praise. he wants to hear how i want him more than my ex. more than those strange men i interact with on a daily that so obviously want to see me naked. i will tell him. now that i know what he was looking for ill tell him. not because i know it’ll please him, because i want to. “i like being sweet to women… i like when women are sweet to me” that’s been ringing in my head all night and into this morning. i realized he doesn’t just want sex, he wants that emotional connection too. i keep thinking men are all the same, and when he says something he actually means something  else. which he does, but he actually wants to connect with me. that’s where i was wrong about him. he says this is just sex, which technically it is. he said he doesn’t want to know me, he could care less. actions. the action say something different. calling me just to talk, asking me to hang out and get dinner. what do i have to offer that his wife is lacking? something he is craving? my head had been whirling when he asked me to get dinner and go with him. he wanted me to come out with him, that was a given. it physically hurt me to say no to him. i wanted to say yes. my brain had the answer swirling my head. it was all i could see. “yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, a thousand times yes.” 

if he had called me ten minutes prior, the answer would have been yes. i want to be spoiled by him. I’ve met my match in bed. sometimes he says something cringe but i guess that’s all men. he was talking about n.l;.one of those women on the street would be staring at him if he hadn’t had the money for that car. he kept talking about what he has, the money, the nice car. why is he fucking with a broke twenty-one girl? what is it about me. maybe i should ask but i feel like that’s weird and very ‘pick-me’. i should’ve just said yes to him last night and just asked him to get me adderall.. or maybe some coke would’ve sufficed. something to pick me up and make me more human. bring me down to earth. i want him to want me, more than what he does now.  i sound stupid considering the circumstances. i feel like I’m repeating myself. perhaps i am. 

I’m thinking of going back to school. maybe he can pay my rent for me. he did ask randomly how much my rent was. while we were driving, off-topic, “oh yeah, I’ve been meaning to ask, how much is your rent at your new place?” while we were driving to the hotel that we had for the night. he likes me, that’s for sure. in some way, maybe i like him too. as bad as that sounds. i do, like I’ve stated before, he makes it very easy. especially, now that he wants to hang out with me, just to hang out. with me. by ourselves. getting dinner, going back to his place in the city. this is all crazy to me. 

being with him this afternoon, honestly, didn’t make me feel that great. perhaps it was the circumstances or the playful tone we had with each other  or maybe it was other pressing issues i was having internally. perhaps it was the fact i had just gotten off work. i didn’t feel as good as i wanted. i didn’t get to cum once. i let him finish, inside of me to be exact. its not like he isn’t good it just felt like it wasn’t his all. maybe it was the fact we were in an airbnb. whatever. im over it. im tired and annoyed to be honest. i don’t even feel like showering all the dirt and grime off of me. i don’t feel like showering the smell of Tony off of me. 

we had been walking to the airbnb, he offered me some kind of job. he wasn’t descriptive or very forward with what type of job it was, but he said he’d have ‘a reason to give me money’. i wonder what that means. i asked if he was trying to be a sugar daddy but without the title. in the moment, i hadn’t fully comprehended what he meant. he was offering me a job. an “off the books” type of job. he asked about my situation and i had been truthful. his rebuttal had been to pause that conversation and continuing another time. he wants me to do something very illegal. it doesn’t bother me. at least he’d have ‘a reason to give me money’, as he put it. im conflicted internally at the moment. im not quiet sure of what yet, but i can feel it. the feeling in my stomach when i look at him before we fuck. i don’t think its a good feeling either. he may not get attached. but something else that’s bad will happen. i don’t know what yet. maybe it’ll just be personal/mentally and not necessarily with Tony. i don’t know but i didn’t enjoy myself today. maybe its getting old. 

maybe im pulling a self sabotage, but i don’t think ill see him anymore or at least not as much. he seems so manipulative. every move of his is calculated and well thought out. i can tell and with the stuff he says, he tells on himself. i knew i wasnt gonna see him again last night. he tried to make it seem like my idea that i was gonna stay home. without the rose colored glasses, these flags are blood red and are waiving high. i keep thinking he’s using me for his nighttime tony business, whatever that may be exactly. maybe i would for extra money. id have to hear the extent of the job he wants me to do. i don’t know if im gonna sleep with him again, maybe miss a few of his his calls. he kept saying that there’s no connect between us, no connection, i had made a joke saying say this our connection, a very great one at that. he didn’t seem amused. why does there need to be a connection? you’re fucking married and have a whole kid. im young and dumb and having so much fun. or i was, at least up until yesterday. i knew it was just sex but it made me feel really dirty taking an uber home. immediately after. is that my issue? that it wasn’t like last time? its probably all these factors morphed into this big ball of frustration. if im genuinely just feeling off from this whole thing. he talks about his wife but this time it had made me feel weird. i had said something and he had just looked at me and never responded. fuck, i can’t even remember what i said. the context to the conversation was him taking about how they don’t sleep together, great, a marriage that’s fucked is being fucked up more and more by one woman at a time. right now, im one of those woman, like I’ve stated in the past, definitely not the last one either. am i growing a conscious for this woman? before it had been different because she was just some side character or an NPC in my storyline, but the more he talks about her and lets me see into who she is as a person, adds to the newly sprung guilt, or no, not guilt, but its definitely not a good feeling. maybe, he’s sleeping with me to get me into nighttime tony’s business he has. every time we sleep together, or have slept together, he has drank. maybe he has to to be able to fuck me. but then why does he stare so much? 

why must there be a connection? he sounded almost offended that i said there didn’t need to be. i wish he’d like me to be honest. I’ve only been with him three times now.  why do i want him to respond? why do i want to talk to him and just hang out with me? we don’t even have any common ground. he deletes my message  thread and my feelings get hurt. lying down, i remember what i said to him. we had been taking about how his wife has his location and he doesn’t want to be in a suspicious place cause then shell know. i had made the comment of “it sounds like youre being abused”. he had looked at me and stayed silent and opened the car door and hopped out. i followed, and in my head so many questions had been whirling within. ranging from ‘why the fuck did i just say that?’ to ‘i wonder if that is a type of situation of which had actually happened?’. the walk to the room had been quiet, i wasnt sure if it was because of my comment or what, but the way he had looked at me was burned into my brain. that look he had… i don’t even know what to say it was. i don’t know. it scared me. i think i was kind of chuckling because my comment meant no harm, it was supposed to be a bad joke so i had probably been smiling. he had the face of not being amused. thinking on it now, that was probably the first strike within myself. the look that he had that was definitely directed to me was not of lightheartedness. usually i can read people very well, but this time it was kind of hard to gauge his thoughts. i keep thinking that maybe he is doing this all on purpose, every time we’ve been together he drinks, he’s “accidentally” let me into nighttime Tony’s business, even offered me to work for him, but he engages with me sexually even when sober? i should probably ask what’re his plans with me. i don’t mind doing some side work for some extra money, but for him? that’s where the doubt starts to roll in. working for tony does not sound like it’d end well for me. does he want sex or is he trying to get me involved into his world that isn’t so right for me. my sister’s voice is ringing in my head every time i see him. the danger is still fun, but now as much. i don’t know when ill see him again, but im afraid to ask. i don’t know if i even want to given the circumstances. its not just me that has some frustration, if that’s what i should classify it as. he has negative feelings toward me, i can feel it. i think ill try once more, this time ill offer food and sex, just to chill, maybe make that ‘connect’ he keeps asking about. should i? 

well i did, i asked him if he was busy Saturday and asked if there’s any work i can come along for. “oh no, i don’t do that shit.” is exactly what he said. why am i trying to connect with this man. he’s so much older than me so im not expecting anything. or maybe i am and i haven’t come to terms with it internally. i know he’s full ass married, but why the fuck does he ask some questions like? where’s the connect and how he calls me just to talk. after what was said it got quiet, it was filled with a lot of tension so i had to hang up. it was so odd. were in a weird place right now and i don’t think we can recover. i dont even want to have sex with him anymore at this point.

If you devised any calculus I could understand I would cry tbh

i mean i can do like a conceptual calculus primer if you just wanna understand what people are talking about

so the main ideas of calculus are the derivative and the integral

the derivative is, like, ok hang on and google “wiggly graph”. just keep looking back at any one of those. if you imagine the graph is a literal physical thing and you press a ruler against it at any given point, the derivative is how tilted that ruler is. if the ruler is flat, which happens at the top or bottom of a wiggle, the derivative is zero. if you manage to find a perfectly vertical wall, which shouldnt happen in a real graph, the derivative is infinity cause it means something changed literally instantly (irl even the fastest things usually take a few quadrillionths of a second at least, which is more than zero)

the derivative means how fast something is changing. business people talk about derivatives a lot because if the derivative of a pork graph is a big number right now, that means pork is getting more valuable so they should buy pork now and sell it tomorrow. if the derivative of a pork graph is a negative number, meaning that ruler is tilting downwards, that means pork is getting cheaper so they should sell whatever pork they have now. if its a big negative number that means everything is going to shit (this is not an accurate summary of economics)

the integral is... technically not the thing im going to talk about but its related. so imagine you spill some coffee and it leaves a stain, which probably isn’t a perfect circle but is some blobby shape. suppose you want to know how big the shape is, how much area it has, and therefore how much coffee you spilled. (imagine you are a coffee forensic scientist and also you didn’t mop up any coffee, it’s all in the spill). well if you take a ruler-square thats a square foot and lay it on top of the coffee stain, itll probably mostly contain the stain, and you can say “okay that is about one square foot of coffee”. but suppose you wanna be more precise about the stain. “about one square foot of coffee” is a pretty shitty measurement. so instead you take a bunch of tiled ruler-squares that are a square inch instead. you can fit them on that stain more closely and follow the outline more closely, so you can say that actually this is about 105 square inches of coffee or whatever. and then imagine you wanna get more and more precise. you would need smaller and smaller tiles, and you need more and more of them. well, when you get to an infinite number of infinitely small tiles, that’s an integral. dont worry we have some mathematical tricks so you dont need actual infinite tiles but thats the concept

the reason that these two are related is because theyre (kind of) the opposite of each other, like addition and subtraction are opposites. if i add five apples then take away five apples i have the same number i started with. if i take the integral of a graph over a certain area and then i take the derivative of the thing i get from that, i get back the original equation of the graph. technically with integrals you have to think about bounds or specify constants for indefinite integrals blah blah blah

a really good way to think about derivatives and integrals is position, velocity, and acceleration. position is where you are: for simplicity sake, imagine you’re on a train that only moves forward and back, and the track is also a ruler so it’s easy to see where you are. velocity is how fast you can change where you are: i am at 3ft and i want to be at 13ft and i have one second to cross that distance. acceleration is how fast you can change velocity: i am currently going at 35 mph and i want to be going 50 mph and i have one second to rev my engine up to that speed. acceleration is the derivative of velocity, because its how fast you change that, and velocity is the derivative of position, because its how fast you change that. then position is the integral of velocity which is the integral of acceleration. its a little harder to justify that conceptually but if you draw the graph of the velocity and you shade in the area under the graph from zero to three minutes, then divide it into squares and count those squares, thats how far youve gone in that time.

so iv e been meaning to make a post abt this for a while so why not now, when im not even sure how my words are right and if i can think of the right things to say

in spectraverse - well, kind of, there are several spectraverse timelines and none have particular names so i cant really specify which one, we’ll just call it 2 - there are several different kinda of magic, along with subtypes

There are three different casters a being - typically a human, it is unusual for any nonhuman to call themselves a caster - can be, ‘caster’ being the name for the way someone casts a spell. Its a shit name, i’ll pick a better one some other time. Anyway. So, you can cast spells. Some make their own spells, others use books or loose paper or they remember it or whatever. Think of it like baking. You can stick it all in together, and it will always make something. Whether that thing is edible, that varies. Casting is like that, you can put in four whatever the fucks and three bees and you might get a puff of smoke or you might blow up your house. You might have been trying to dye your hair magically. Anyway.

A witch is a caster who draw the power of their spells from the environment - heat, light, feelings. A caster can do basically any spell depending on whatever the fuck they are but often, they are spells that give back. So. If you draw power from say, the sun’s heat, it might be a spell to replenish some part of the environment. I really havent thought this through but i just want to talk soo Witches can cast any spell, but drawing power from the environment can be time consuming and troublesome, so their spells tend to be weaker and- i dont know how to say this properly. I have this nice image all ready but i dont know what its words are. I’d say witches spells tend to be longer lasting? Yeah. Like. You cant draw energy from the environment quickly, but a long term spell being very constantly, slowly replenshed is the sort of things witches excel at. Like, making a plant grow faster, or a love spell, or a happiness spell, or maybe something to increase income - i dont know. Witches arent particularly important at the moment in my story so i havent given them much thought.

At this stage i should probably point out that these are all considered gender neutral. U dont have to be a lady to be a witch, and u dont have to be a dude to be a wizard, and you dont have to be nonbinary to be a mage.

So next up is wizards, who use their own energy. This is the thing that is good for fast acting spells, or things that work in bursts. Setting fires, i cant think of anything else, teleportation, yeah i really have not thought much about this either. Wizards replenish their energy just as any human generally does, sleeping, eating, spending an absurdly long amount of time gambling away your money in Pokemon - okay maybe thats just me but you get the idea.

Wizards are more useful in battle than witches, though armor, cloaks, staffs, etc. Can all have a boost in power by a witch.

Mages are people either born with the natural ability for elemental manipulation, OR people who perform a combination of both witchery and wizardry. Maybe just the latter. I’ll have to think of a name for the former.

There are eight major elements, and beyond those are several subtypes/skills that can only be learnt with particular elements. I havent thought of many of these but i’ll work them out.

So- Water Air Earth Fire Lightning Steel/Metal (i wanted to call it metal but my pokemon loving ass kept calling it steel) Light Dark/ness

Everyone has an element 'assigned’ to them in their genetics, but most people dont have the natural ability to manipulate it. Instead, they may have a few personality traits associated with the element, they might excel in a field of study related to that element, they could just really like that element OR nothing in particular. Like. It affects them in no way whatsoever, which is probably the most common. Also people can kinda teach themselves manipulation but it is Hard.

When you’re a 'natural’ (pretty sure i stole that term from somewhere else but w/e) you will have had the ability to control the element from birth. Natural elemental manipulators tend to have good visualisation skills and decent motor skills, though sometimes they have neither of these things and it ends really fucking badly, because if you cant picture something right you cant control it, and if you cant point your hand where u need to point it, thats bad. Elemental manipulation is largely controlled with visualisation, picturing what you want to do in your mind, but it also has to do with how good you are at controlling your energy. Most people wont be able to say, evaporate all the water from a pool in an instant, actually thats a terrible example for reasons i have not yet explained, give me a moment- Most people wont be able to cause an earthquake the moment they start using magic consciously, and that is because they havent learnt how to control their energy. Some people MIGHT be able to do it, but its more of an “accidental spontaneous energy release’ thing than a 'five year old good at controlli their energy’ thing.

So then you have subtypes. I havent thought of many of these yet, actually im P sure i only have one but lets talk about it anyway.

Temperature manipulation is a subskill of the metal and water elements, largely linked to the control of emotions. Actually, any of the elements that have the states of matter which i am forgetting, will be able to learn this subtype. It means, you guessed it, you cn control temperature. So a water user would then get a sort of sub element of ice, and they can also boil water. Metal users would be able to melt and solidify the metal. It takes time to learn, and oh shit mind blank. Uh.oh right. Speed. So like you might be able to boil water with the ability but u wont be able to do it really fast unless youve practised a lot. Poor emotional regulation + temperature manipulatio can mean Bad because it would lead to the accidental alteration of environemtnt. That was too fancy. Basically u might get road rage and then ur whole fucken car would melt.

Uh also healing? Pretty self explanatory, i havent though abt it much yet, much like everything else in this post.

Humans can also learn magic through objects. Some help to channel energy, some boost it, you can get orbs to give you an extra element, etc.

So then NONHUMANS are so much luckier because magic is like. Their first language. Most nonhumans, or even half humans with ANY nonhuman in them, will find it MUCH easier to learn a second element. Nonhumans have a body built for magic, so like their body can channel energy into multiple elements simulaneously, which is a thing humans find difficult, as they are not particularly made for magic. They still do it though. Nonhumans tend to be manipulators rather than casters, and like i said before, if they are they dont typically use the term caster.

Also, here are some things i forgot to mention/magic which i couldnt work out where to fit in:

- TELEKINESIS: good ole telekinesis. magical story woukdnt be complete without it. Pretty easy for most magical (nonhuman) beings to learn, at a basic level (closing doors, picking up the tv remote bc youre too lazy). You can go further into it and learn how to fuckin slam a dude against a wall like in supernatural. Harder for humans to learn (look i know humans get all this shit but theyre the majority).

-SUMMONING: SUMMON SATAN OR SOME SHIT. first of all, if you summon satan, you will get one of five people who will all tell you that satan is the incorrect term.also, summoning satan isnt particularly powerful summoning magic, it doesnt rely on the user’ s power much, but you gotta give a little blood. Anyway. Summoning is usually assisted by tokens of some sort that depict what you are summonging. Sometimes. To be a summoner u have to make friendship with thingd that CAN be summoned, like angels demons nine tailed fox etc. if it cant talk and make friends then u can generally find their tokens in shops, particualrly when there are a lot of the species existing and they dont exist lhysically outside of the void or something. But sentient beings like demons u goota find, befirend, and then they giv e you their token like some sorta business card. They also can turn down a summon, because they are sentient and if youre sentient it is possible you may be busy.

-TIME POWERS: HAVENT thogubt about this at all but worth a mention. Involves freezing time, travelling time and I FORGOT ABOUT DIMENSIONAL TRAVEL

-dimensional travel: you can travel dimensions, kinda. Ther e is one character who can do this currrently, she uses an unnamed object to help her draw her own power and she can juml timelines and travel different world s without the use of gates, which are often used otherwise.

Episode 11 - "Me??? ANGRY??? That's the most bizarre thing" - Vilma

Last round I had to vote Stephen because I think he wanted Liana out and wanted to be odd number at f7 and make whatever move he wanted to make but instead I blindsided him with Allan pat and Liana. I really wanted this endurance immunity but I fucked 4 times in a row which costed me and Tyler won which is not good because I really hope no one tries to blindside me or plays an idol. 

Oop it's confessional time. Honestly this week has been a pretty easy week so far (maybe too easy??). Right now the plan is for the 4 we have solidified to vote Jacob, along with Vilma. This week, for me, has more been a dilemma of where to go with this game. Clash and I finally solidified a final 2 but it's going to be hella hard to win against him in a final scenario Pat and I have been discussing getting to final 5 with the four and Vilma and then blindsiding Clash and it's a very enticing thought but I also think that the final 4 vote will be a lot more up in the air if that happens so I really don't know what to do. 

So it seems like every round something drastic happens right before tribal and my earlier confessionals have no meaning anymore. Basically what happened is Tyler sensed he was in danger and faked having a continental drift idol which would have saved him and another person from a different starting tribe. I never really bought his story because it just seemed like a too powerful advantage, Andreas and Dennis just don't strike me as hosts that would do something like that! But there was always the possibility Tyler was telling the truth and people started scrambling like crazy. Mind you, this all happened, like, 45 minutes before tribal. Oh wow tea Uhhh Is that idol for real? Sounds way too powerful to be true Would you guys do that???? This feels like sapphire idol all over again Would you guys do that???? IF I GO BECAUSE OF A WEIRD SUPER IDOL AGAIN IM GONNA BE SO PISSED I SWEAR TO GOD LOL So Stephen had just made an alliance chat with myself and Tyler in it, but he felt completely blindsided by Tyler's fake idol and felt like he couldn't trust him anymore, which resulted in him wanting to split the votes between Tyler and someone else, preferably Allan or Liana. Too bad Allan and Liana are tight with Clash and Pat and they obviously didn't like the plan, so they came up with a plan to blindside Stephen instead, leaving him, myself and Tyler completely out of the loop. I knew I wasn't been told the truth, because I was trying to get a name out of people pretty much until two minutes before tribal, and everyone would just beat around the bush and avoid saying a name to me. Finally people just told me I should vote Tyler and that they would split half the votes on someone else, but they never specified me who. So I ended up voting Tyler by myself like a big idiot. I knew my name had been in consideration once the scrambling started, so I was fully expecting to go home at tribal, and I was pretty surprised it ended up being Stephen instead of myself tbh. What a great play by Tyler to save himself! So after tribal Clash called me and explained me everything, claiming that people thought I was close to Stephen and that's why they couldn't let me in on the vote, to prevent leaking and idols being played. Which, you know, makes sense, but it definitely solidified I'm only a number to use for their core alliance, not someone who they would trust. I'm trying to like imagine an ideal boot order from my perspective but it's honestly so tough with these numbers I need to get one of Liana/Allan/Pat out soon They're more UTR compared to Clash and they're going to the end together if someone doesn't stop them But how could I do it without pissing them off so they'd still be open to working with me later on Out of the three Pat is showing the most interest of working together so I'd preferably vote Liana or Allan out first Liana feels like a safer bet since she already played her idol Allan could still have one But I don't know if it's realistic anyone would turn on her atm Clash is like the one person that alliance could potentially be willing to vote out But I don't know if it would be smart to do that yet Or just let them pick one of Tyler/Jacob out and keep my fingers crossed it wouldn't be myself I guess I'm gonna have to just try and talk to people and see how they're feeling Lol I wish Jacob wasn't so pissed at me we haven't talked in a long time And his responses to me are 'yeah' 'okay' If we actually communicated better we could've forced a tie last round But idk I probably would've only done it if I knew for a fact the other side was planning to leave me out of the Stephen vote For some reason they still think I'm likely to have an idol Which I don't have So whenever someone tells me my name is out there I'm just gonna let them know that I know So they think I'm playing an idol on myself And they have to switch to someone else Ugh I'm so close to beating my best Tumblr placement and I really wanted to win this immunity, but Tyler ended up beating myself and Clash by two points. That basically means one of myself or Jacob is pretty much guaranteed to go home tonight, and I just hope it will be Jacob over myself. People keep reassuring me the vote is going to be Jacob but I'm always suspicious. On another note, Patrick and I had a good talk last night and he is definitely starting to plan a blindside against Clash. I know Clash is already expecting people to turn against him, which is why I need him to think I'm 100% loyal to him still. But if an opportunity arises, I will definitely take Clash out. Even if I'd rather have it be Allan or Liana. It's not like I'm in any position of power here with zero advantages in my pocket, so I need to take the opportunities I'm given. If I just manage to make it through this round my possibilities of moving further are much greater! What was maybe even more interesting, though, was that Pat told me Clash has told people I'm mad at them!!!! So Clash has been telling his side I'm ANGRY at them And Pat, like, believed it Me??? ANGRY??? That's the most bizarre thing I would never be angry over a game and if they knew me one bit they would've instantly known that was absolute bullshit hahah Pat and I agreed that he has definitely tried to prevent us from bonding together and control communication between the different sides. It's funny because I had heard all these stories about Clash running around telling weird things about me, but I was suspicious about them before. Now I start to believe that they were all indeed true. I think Clash wants all of us to be close to HIMSELF and HIMSELF only, so he could control us like his little puppets. And I'm definitely going to continue embracing my role as his sweet little puppet to get myself further in the game. As far as I know, Clash is my one and only true friend in this game. Who even are the other players???? Here let me present you a list of all the ways crackhead Clash has tried to bullshit people to change their perception of me: 1. Telling his side that I'm REALLY angry at them because they voted out Emily 2. Convincing Stephen that I was trying to target him, which resulted in him playing the vote mirror against me 3. Trying to get Tyler to hate me because I voted him last round 4. Saying that I'm mad at him for not including him in the Stephen vote. ... And probably a lot more that I'm not aware of. Regardless of all this Clash fuckery, I think my strategy of clinging onto Clash like a leech and making a f2 deal with him has greatly benefitted me in this game, and I don't regret doing that at all. If Clash didn't think I was close to him and 100% loyal to him, I would've been much more likely to go home at every tribal since the Emily vote. The others are way more willing to budge compared to Clash. In addition to that, Clash has been the perfect shield for me since his target will always be even bigger than mine. Nobody wants to go to the end with him. NOBODY. So when the time is right, they will try to take a stab at him. He could still definitely have an idol though, so I need to be careful. So long story short, Jacob or myself will most likely go home tonight, and I just hope they choose Jacob instead of me. Thank god he's been beasting those challenges, it definitely helps my case here. I kinda still hope idol paranoia would cause them to split the votes between Jacob and myself, however, because then Jacob, Tyler and I could manage to make a voting block and take someone from their side out. I'm just not sure they'd be willing to take that risk. 

honestly, this game. So like im absolutely struggling, absolutely no longer on top of things but HEY im still IN. Honestly just doing some good old self preservation trying to #StayIn so thats FUN for ME. Made two fake idols and i highkey think it kept me safe that round so thats a hoot ;) AnyWAY jacob is probs going this round and theres nothing i can do about it! ✌🏼 People seem to be willing to flip on clash next vote tho hehe t
