Glaminar Review
(this is not my review, but a friend’s who attended her glaminars as found on GuruGossip)
My Glaminar(s) experience:
**I first want to note that Kandee has this strange "look" when you see her. It's like she just got caught-trying-to-be-sneaky look. It's so strange and hard to explain but out of all the times I've been around her, the "look" emerges from time to time. Had to put that out there so you guys could understand.
Most of the Glaminars were the same but bizarre non the less.
When I first arrived, I was one of the first ones there. I checked in with Momma Shannon (she usually had her Mom, Aunt and cousin helping her run these fraud classes.) While I was checking in, Kandee was walking out of the elevator towards us, I was starstruck!!! (Seriously, I'll admit, I was very fond of her) I was in awe, here is the girl from YT that I idolized, right in front of me. (So fucking stupid, ugh) She had ZERO makeup, a white tank top, gauchos and flip-flops. Honestly, without all that clown makeup, crazy clothes and zany accessories...she actually looks decent. Anyway, I was dying with excitement hoping she would say "Hi" to me since she saw that I was getting checked in but nada. She gave me "the look" and dashed away. That was red flag #1 for me.
So fast forward, all the girls are seated and now we are waiting for Kandee to make her grand entrance. Her Mom introduced her like this high profile celebrity and when Kandee walked out...Oh.MY.GOSH. my mouth dropped open. She looked nothing like earlier. She had this orange face with bright makeup, a feather dangling from her ear, wearing those ugly stale black and gray leopard tights she would always wear with crazy mullet looking hair. What you see online vs. real life is totally different (wait, hasn't Kandee been saying this lately? She must be referring to herself) Anyway, I figured that's how things should be, she was putting up a show. I was excited to start talking makeup (you know, the reason why we were there in the first place) BUT she went on and on about her life.
Some details she shared w/us:
*She worked with MAJOR celebrities but wasn't able to share with who (top secret guys!)
*she made a comment about a very rude celebrity and how awful it was working with her. I'm assuming it was Kimora Lee Simmons because she kept making fun of mystery lady and her neck rolls/lines (giving us hints) So much for the Kind and Sweet Kandee She has a catty side, trust me.
*No one was there for her during her struggle, she's completely self-made
*She was on food stamps and government assistance while she struggled with Jordan as a young single mom
*Her mother would sit in a car with Jordan while she was on set and she would come out every break she got to breastfeed him.
*She got where she is today because she's loyal to her main mantra "FAKE IT 'TILL YOU MAKE IT" She kept saying this throughout the day over and over.
*she stressed the fact that we DO NOT need a license to do Makeup, we DO NOT need experience, we DO NOT need training or school. (???????? I was so confused about this)
*she was a single mom of 3 with a "if I could do it, you can do it too" attitude. (Little did we know that she was in a relationship with Bobby and she was pregnant!)
While she went on about stuff like this, mostly personal stuff, we were beginning to wonder when was the Makeup class going to begin. Hours into her sob story, it got boring and we got anxious. We took a break, this means that who ever paid for the AM class got no Makeup knowledge taught to them whatsoever! It was all about Kandee's poor me life.
The second class got started and she reminded us that no one was permitted to video tape the class because her Makeup Skills were TOP SECRET. She slapped some mediocre makeup on some models and volunteers (yes folks, same shit she does on YT) top secret my ass. In between all this, she set up a photo shoot like area and all the girls lined up to take pictures with her. It was so bizarre because it was like she was promoting herself, minimizing the Makeup class part. I mean, yes we were all excited to see her and meet her but I was excited to also learn about the things she claimed she was going to teach described on her website. Nothing was hands on and I felt like everything she explained to us was already featured on all her YT videos. So we basically paid this bitch to see her live and in person.
While we waited in line to take a picture with her (even though she was going to have a meet and greet afterwards...why are we doing this???? Oh yeah, to kill time) I noticed her table with all of her makeup junk set up. Again, OH MY GOSH. "Is this the same palettes from her videos?" A girl next to me whispered to herself. I immediately looked at her and we both cringed. She just finished using everything there on those people, not once did I see her spray or clean anything. Not to mention, all her shit was filthy!! In all seriousness, I was disgusted. How can a woman who claims to be a Professional makeup artist be this nasty, using her own personal kit or whatever on herself on YT and on her models at the Glaminars??? Shit was unreal. She noticed we were looking at her stuff and gave us "the look" Ugh. Chills, I get an ugly vibe when she does that!!
Class was over, I didn't learn or pick up any makeup tricks or anything. It was just a glorified meet up with Kandee. Some of us waited for the meet and greet (dafuq, didn't we just do that for 4 hours????) While I waited, Kandee's aunt and cousin had this huge camera, like the television type, walking around taping testimonials from girls about Kandee's "life changing" experience. I don't know if they were just excited to be on camera or what but when they started to record all the girls started to gush how wonderful Kandee is blah blah blah and CUT. Fake it till you make it, right? They came up to me but I refused to comment. So strange.
Anyway, Kandee came out and everyone lined up again and this time she was hugging and crying with the girls. I overheard these girls telling her intimate details about their life and Kandee was there to comfort them saying "I feel your heart" type of stuff. I was so confused about how to feel in that exact moment. No one was concerned about makeup anymore. It was all about tears, sadness and comfort. Okay I get it, that's cool but is that the reason we payed hundreds of dollars for? They should of just gone to a therapist, a real professional. Kandee is no role model.
I left there realizing that Kandee is more of a motivational speaker than a Professional Makeup Artist to be fair. These girls fell in love with the idea of a cheerleader or someone who is there for you.
That was just one Glaminar, I got invited to the others and I was hoping maybe she would switch it up and talk more Makeup. Sometimes we do things better the second or third time around. NOPE. She stuck with what sells and kept up the mentor act, class after class.
By this time she finally announced her pregnancy and all these little secrets and details that didn't match up started to pop up and I eventually started to see more red flags with Kandee.
I'm only here to expose Kandee for what she is. A fake, a fraud, a money hungry woman seeking fame.
I'm sure I left stuff out but honestly there's so much, I'm sure it's also been discussed. All I know is that I'm glad I'm not a victim anymore and the Kandee Koolaid has left my body once and for all.

Projekt “Selbstliebe” – Tag 120

GLAMINAR MAKEUP WORKSHOP
June 9--- I attended my first ever makeup workshop! In spite of my very busy schedule, I decided to attend the workshop for the following reasons:
1. I want to learn more about makeup. Yes, I’ve learned a lot from watching youtube. Honestly, most of the knowledge I have right now, I just learned from watching makeup gurus. However, just like what Celline had said in her blog, nothing can beat a face-to-face lecture.
2. I want to be a part of Glaminar’s Makeup Work first batch!
3. I like meeting new people, especially makeup lovers!
4. I want to meet my fellow bloggers again. (Celline and Ana)
And finally,
5. Ana Patricia will be our instructor!!! ---- I’m a huge fan of this girl! She is definitely an amazing makeup artist and yet, still, a very nice and humble girl.
I arrived in the studio at 1pm looking very ordinary (almost without makeup except for foundation and well-groomed eyebrows) and still with headache since I just took an evaluation examination on the same day.
Upon arriving at the venue, the first thing that caught my attention was the MAKEUP BUFFET (coined by Socel).
The eyeshadow palettes from Estee Lauder, MUA, NYX, Sephora, Tarte, Elf and more!
The amazing Nyx Lipsticks
Face products! Oh boy!!!
More makeup!!!
The famous Jazzy Collection Creme foundation and Loreal Base Magique
Oh yes!! It's an URBAN DECAY NAKED PALETTE!! A real one! finally!
And yes, almost everything in the table were brand new! Oh boy, I love being included in the first batch. It’s like a heaven for girls like me! I was able to try almost all the products in this table!
Believe it or not, I can just stand there trying all the makeup for an hour or more.
I was also extremely pleased with the arrangement of our workplace!
Okay, that's my friend's tummy! Not mine. hahaha! The mirror is super cute, i want to take it home! hahaha
All were pleased with these makeup brushes from Beauty Cosmetics! Oh, so soft!
If you're interested in getting yours too, you may use my promo code: eloisa to get 10% off on all items on the shop
  THE WORKSHOP
Our Instructor - Makeup Artist Ms. Ana Patricia Mendoza
Ana Patricia is a self-taught freelance makeup artist. She started getting professional work at age 17.
In January 2011, she did the makeup for ABS-CBN 'Imortal' where she did the vampire makeup look for the male models, groomed actor Jake Roxas and retouched actress Francine Prieto. Ana Patricia is also a guest makeup artist at MAC Rockwell Branch. Over time, she has done numerous makeup for weddings, debuts, fashion shows, pageants, print ads,and other events.
On November 2011, she started her own beauty blog. A month after, she received her first ever HD Camera from her sister as a christmas gift. Ana uploaded her first makeup tutorial on Youtube on the 1st day of January 2012. With her first video gaining a thousand views in a short time, Dollface Cosmetics made her an amabasadress for the brand. More sponsorships for her blog also followed. To date, she is the youngest professional makeup artist in town.
Not only is she a makeup artist, Ana likes to create art by painting and sketching. She is a graduating student at Cosmopoint International Institute of Technology taking up Computer Graphics Design. She enjoys being influenced from surrounding artworks when she creates an original look. Although she's into high-fashion looks, she makes sure beauty doesn't get left behind.
There were 8 attendees for the first batch of the workshop which is pretty beneficial for us so Ana could closely supervise and guide us throughout the workshop.
Ana began her presentation with Skincare. She tackled the basic things we need to learn about skin including our skin type.
We were also able to try Mary Kay skin care products sponsored by Red Jhelli Shop.
Other topics discussed were as follows:
Basic Foundation Routine
I've Learned...
-  -Full coverage is much better in pictures than in person. Ana recommends sheer to medium coverage for everyday
Lipstick & Blush Application
I've Learned...
-  -Kinds of lipstick finishes (plus some techniques in applying lipsticks) and the right way of applying blush on cheeks
Highlighting & Contouring
I've Learned...
To contour my face using fan brush!!! I never thought fan brush would be very useful as this!
Tools & Brushes
I've Learned...
The kinds of brushes and their uses. In addition, Ana give us techniques in making some of our brushes multi-functional (such as fan brush)
Brows 101
Ana demonstrated us the right way of grooming our eyebrows!! She did a great job on my co-student!
Hands-on Makeup Application:
‘No Makeup’ Makeup Look, Quick & Easy Everyday Makeup and Smokey Eye for Nightime (transforming everyday makeup to Nighttime look)
   Photoshoot
After the Hands-on makeup (that lasted for 7 hours!!!!  Oh yes, worth every peny!!) we had our photoshoot! The pictures were not yet posted on the fan page but I promise to include it in this post once Ate Myla is done uploading them.
Overall, I really enjoyed my first ever makeup workshop! Oh boy, I was glad to be part of this wonderful seminar. The 7 hours (supposedly 5-hours makeup workshop---grabeng extension namin! haha!) was worth every penny.
Thank you again Ate Myla for being understanding and extending the time and Ana for your patience in teaching us! Thank you, Glaminar!
Fave parts of the workshop were:
Unlimited Swatching of Cosmetics
Merienda Time (Conti's)
Hands-on Makeup Application
Photoshoot
to follow
and ofcourse, receiving our goodies!!!
YAY! GOODIES!
Ana and Ate Myla!
Sorry for the lame shots! I don't have much time to edit it T.T Plus the lighting sucks!
My favorite makeup bag!
If you're interested to join GLAMINAR MAKEUP WORKSHOP--BATCH 2, please see the poster below.
